I’ve been in two minds whether to write this review because I desperately wanted to love this place but we left a bit underwhelmed. I was on a first date and wanted to impress so decided on Twenty2 based on the reviews and recommendations. I opted for Sunday dinner. One thing I’ll say from the start is the service was incredible, our waiter was attentive and entertaining and gave us 5* service, the venue was also stunning. We both ordered roast beef and given the venue I was anticipating quality over quantity but I felt disappointed by a few things on the plate. The Yorkshire pudding was pancake like and tough and the roast potato was hard as it it had been fried or reheated several times. The rest of the food was really good but two of the main items really let it down. As I said, I write this reluctantly but given the cost (not crazy money but not cheap) I had higher hopes. Maybe we just got a bit unlucky.

My partner and I went for dinner at Twenty2 for our Anniversary. I had booked 2 months in advance and mentioned that my partner has a shellfish allergy, but we fully understood that if they couldn't accommodate for that. They emailed me prior to our reservation, with a full list of the ingredients they would be using for the night, going out of their way to give us insight as to whether they would be suitable for us. Alas, no shellfish for the evening, so we were thrilled to attend. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Antonio, who showed us to their window table, which had a beautiful view into the courtyard and the river beyond. He was aware it was our anniversary and further passed on his congratulations to us. We had booked for their tasting menu and wine pairing, so despite us knowing what ingredients were included for the evening, we weren't aware of the dishes. Not to ruin the surprise of what they serve, the food was beyond expectations. Extremely well thought out dishes, with an overwhelming flavour, and dressed to impress. We left our plates spotless! Antonio was absolutely brilliant. We felt his wine pairing was spot on, and his charm made us so very comfortable to spend such a special occasion there. Just as we felt our evening was wrapped up at Twenty2, Antonio surprised us with a chocolate board with Happy Anniversary written in white chocolate. You couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces. I highly recommend visiting Twenty2, it was truly brilliant.

What a lovely place for afternoon tea. We stopped before going in to take photos in the garden overlooking the river. The front of house host spotted us, came out and kindly took our photograph. The whole experience was most definitely 5 star. We felt that we were important to the host, the owner and all the staff. From taking our coats, to the delicious (and substantial!) afternoon tea, to serving us coffee in the cosy lounge, we were made to feel welcome. The place is also beautifully decorated - even down to the old fashioned post box in the ladies loo! Can't recommend enough.

Our second visit and just as wonderful as the first. Beautiful and unique location with a super friendly welcome. Fine dining without being pretentious. Our tasting menu was paired expertly with lovely wines and finished with a surprise happy anniversary chocolate plate. They'd already scored top marks but the fact we'd not told them it was our anniversary gets them extra bonus points for their espionage skills! Relaxed fine dining with superb food and great menu, definitely recommend to anyone. Cheers!

My wife and I came for afternoon tea for her birthday. The setting was lovely as it was a nice day so we could sit outside with views of the river Dee. The waiter was very friendly and attentive throughout. There was a good selection of high quality food provided for the afternoon tea and I was very impressed with the tea selection. I would visit again for a special occasion.

What a lovely experience! We sat in a very a really pleasant ambience. The food was absolutely delicious. Even better we weren't asked every 5 minutes if the food was to our taste, but the service was top notch and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend the afternoon tea, and can't wait to go back!

Excellent service, the waiting staff got the right mix of being personable but not overbearing. The main course lamb was one of the best plates of food I've ever had with a well matched wine flight. Will be going again
