Had an amazing night at Twin Door Tavern with the guys! Great dinner, great atmosphere, and an even better time all around. The food was excellent and the service was top-notch. Big thanks to the staff and especially the owner Larry for the warm welcome and respect. You made the night special. One of my favorite restaurants! Chef Marco is amazing. I love the waitresses and the guys helping them! I always start with the calamaris 🥰 Music sometimes is too loud 😳 but I still love that place!

Food and service is amazing. Some of the specials are served like an art piece. Very friendly staff. Owner/ Manager greeds everyone with kindness. I highly recommend this place.

DJed a 50th Wedding Anniversary in their catering room, which they divided to accommodate another Anniversary. The other DJ pumped up his party, while ours was being served dinner, so my music was completely drowned out. Dinner should be coordinated that both events are served at the same time. Servers were attentive otherwise.

Came to see a band with friends. Friendly, attentive and quick service. Food was mediocre, and needed salt/pepper and more seasonings/sauce on the cheesesteaks. Grilled chicken sandwich also needed sauce to have some flavor. Friend had fish tacos that were reportedly good.

Busy but pleasant, quick bartender brought me a delicious cheese steak. The band, the Stragglers, was entertaining a wonderfully talented. Twin Door should definitely have them back. When they do, make sure you go!

Very pleasant establishment with really good food. We stopped by one night to try the food and inquire about potentially having a baby shower there. We were both really happy with our burgers. They have a nice party room for private events.

Music by VJ Peter was wonderful. Kept the crowd going all night! The food & prices are good. Had a grilled peach special appetizer that was delicious! They could use more staff. Service was slow, we needed to ask for water refills and find our server a few times that evening. I believe the server had too many tables to be efficient.

Love coming here! Tonight I attended a private event - Adult Line Dancing which was awesome! We did grab a bite beforehand. Yummy food! Great drinks, great service! The only downside was that at one point during the evening I went to the bar to get a glass of tap water and the bartender refused. That was a bit extreme! Especially that I was not told to bring my own drinks and I was dancing for 2 hours. Who doesn't give you a glass of water? Plus I was a paying customer as 5 of us had dinner prior to attending the event. I'm quite disappointed in this service. Shame on you!

Lunch at Maywood's Twin Door Tavern with family. Like they say, you only get together with family at funerals and weddings. Thanks to Chip Greiner for the venue recommendation. Twin Door did an outstanding job of taking care of my group. Food and service was excellent, friendly, efficient, and attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meals, from appetizers to desserts, and I thought my entree of Hungarian Goulash with Short Ribs was delicious. The house made Apple Pie alamode dessert was a home run. We were super hopeful that this was going to be a new brunch place for us, but unfortunately we left disappointed. We were the first customers in the restaurant and service was still very slow. Our server was friendly enough, but she was not very attentive and disappeared a lot. We ordered the $4 Bloody Mary. It was a light drink that lacked flavor. That ended up being a theme here. My husband had the regular eggs benedict and said it was bland. I had the cajun eggs benedict and it was ok. It was very spicy, but not flavorful - you only got heat. What really turned me off was the soggy, un-toasted English muffin and the baked hollandaise sauce. It was so dry. We asked for more sauce on the side and they brought out a saucer full. It was definitely canned or something - definitely not fresh. We probably won't be back unless they improve a lot of things.

Came for a group birthday dinner and enjoyed our experience here. We came on a night with a live band, so it was super loud and lively. Wouldn't recommend coming here on a first date though ;) you won't be able to hear each other! They had a unique menu with German dishes (not sure if this was seasonal for Oktoberfest) or if it's here year round. But we had to try the potato pancakes with apple sauce, bratwurst and goulash with short ribs. Everything was so delicious and cooked nicely. Bratwurst was a little bit salty but the sauerkraut was yummy! I would definitely want to come back another time (maybe not on a live music night) and try the other dishes. I was eyeing the cocktails and baby back ribs!

3 beers, 3 shots, and 3 bottled waters cost us 68 dollars. Make it make sense. You don't serve water at night time? I'm very confused as the only craft beer that night was Maine lunch. Been in the industry 8 years. Truly the worst bar I've ever been to. Would not recommend.

Decent place with a pretty old school vibe to it. The food itself is above average. I was rather pleased with their French Onion soup. It wasn't salty as much as I'd expect it to be and the cheese was just right. I gave the goulash a try and it was pretty tasty. A tad salty but not too bad. Generally speaking this place has a nice ambiance, with an older customer base that you'd expect from an old fashioned place. However the folks here were friendly and the food was generally very good. It's just your average neighborhood place that seems to have its share of regulars and is a nice departure from the usual theme restaurants that seem to dot the landscape all over nearby Paramus.

Went for Easter Brunch the breakfast station was awful. Bacon and sauages were good, but the Eggs benedic were just dry and on non toast bread with little sauce. The waffles were hard and dry. They ran out so replace waffels with EGGOS!!! I paid 100.00 for EGGOS The rest of the buffets was just ok. Chicken was dry.

I go there almost every week. The entertainment, food, prices, and people who work there are super friendly! The new management/ownership is super nice. It's a great, relaxed atmosphere, very clean, and I highly recommend this place to anyone! Laura

Recently visited this establishment and have to say it is the quintessential pub and eatery. I felt welcomed by the bartender Maureen who immediately attended to my preferences. I order a garlic shrimp appetizer which was very good and plentiful for an appetizer. It came with quartered pita breads for dipping. If your expecting great ambience, you're probably in the wrong restaurant. It's kind of dark and dingy as most pubs are. On a side note the ever changing entertainment is wonderful. I was there on oldies disco night and loved it. I say drop by when you're in the neighborhood as I'd say it's definitely a neighborhood place to be

I have been to this establishment many times. The staff some of the staff are very nasty, Some of the bartenders can not do two things at once. They only pay attention to who they want to. The bartenders keep dirty beer bottles in with the ice for mixed drink. The food gets smaller and the price goes up. I have personally have found hair in my food. you might want to think twice before coming to thi establishment.

It was hard to decide between a two and a three but my husband said 2 so I gave it that. We came right at opening to try their brunch. It seems like a good menu, $4 for screwdrivers,mimosas and bloody Mary's. They also had a decent selection of brunch options. We all ordered a round of drinks and then placed Eggs Benedict orders (two regular, two Cajun). First service seemed slow as we were done with our drinks, there were only people at the bar and our waitress didn't come back until our food was there. Second, if you order eggs Benedict you expect hollandaise sauce. You could see the tiny bit on there but it looked as if it had sat under the heat lamps too long and had all dried up. The portions seemed small for hash browns and the Eggs Benedict had very little flavor. We requested a second round of drinks and more hollandaise sauce. When the hollandaise sauce came it looked like it had been made out of a packet and still lacked flavor. The English muffin didn't seem properly toasted so it was just a luke warm dish. The potato's were good, but I left not full (and I'm a small portion person). Overall I wouldn't come back, I just think if there's barely anyone there and you're the first to order the food should come out quick and hot, and done right the first time.

My manager and I decided to get lunch from this location. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted. We sat at a booth. We were served by Rosemarie and she was so nice and attentive. I ordered a beyond burger and my manager ordered the chicken breast. When the food came out it looked very good. The beyond burger was good and my manager really liked his chicken. We also had uptowns and they were good as well. The bill wasn't bad either. All in all we had a good experience.

Wonderful celebration of Halfway to St. Patrick's Day Weekend. Great food with a special Irish menu serving large portions. Our large group received great service and the staff were especially kind to the elderly and children. The live music by Back In Business played a mix of fun music that had everyone dancing and singing, even some Irish tunes. The bagpiper was an unexpected surprise playing throughout the bar and restaurant. The bar area offered large screens for the sports enthusiasts. The owner and his wife greeted everyone and later checked on almost every table to ensure that they were happy with the food and service.

Food is OK. All staff & bartenders are very nice & provide good service. The female blonde bartender is extremely nasty & argumentative. Larry the new owner charged my friend 75 cents for a glass of tap water & me $3.00 for a glass of club soda after we each ran a bar bill of $50 each & we are regular customers. New Years Eve he is charging $25 pp just to sit at bar & doesn't include a drink. Take your $ & biz elsewhere.

We stopped in after driving in from LI. My wife ordered a burger with chips. The burger was juicy and tasty. The chips were delicious. The French dip that I ordered was awesome.

I've been going here for over forty years and have "never" been refused a takeout order. With all of the Covid crap going on and the support we have shown the Maywood Business District it was an utter disgrace to be told they weren't taking outgoing orders. I will certainly rethink "my" support for certain local businesses.

Oktoberfest They offer a wide-ranging menu, yet all the adults in our group ended up ordering off their special Oktoberfest menu. For me it was their Roast Fresh Ham w/Sauerkraut, apple sauce, and whipped potatoes. Service was good as the evening rolled on with drinks, appetizers, soups, and salads. When my main course arrived, I realized this is not ham like a ham steak, but rather thin sliced pork with a good gravy. Of course. I think of myself a meat and potato guy, so it was all good. More applesauce would have been better, what I got was about the size of a teaspoon. It was my first visit to Twin Door Tavern, and I had been concerned about it being so loud we would have trouble talking, but that was not the case on this Monday. We had a nice evening.

The food wasn't bad. Everything went bad when they lost my credit card. No apology. I ended up going back because they gave me someone else's credit card still waiting for the call that's not the way to run a business. Sorry.

We made dinner reservations for 6PM and we were seated right away. The place filled up fast! We had a great dinner and Eamon was our server. He was very attentive and the food was delicious. We started out with Calamari and then each of had an entree: Crab Cakes, Chicken Parmigiana and the 14oz Steak. Everything was delicious and we had desert as well ... ice cream and some sort of chocolate and vanilla thing. We left stuffed and happy! I will have to come back some time and try their French Onion Soup!

Best NY strip steak I ve had for $28. Took long time to cook because it was so thick but tasty.

Great establishment! Delicious food and the beer on tap keeps flowing. This is a great neighborhood place. Great place to watch the game as well. Service is excellent and no complaints. I will be back!

We went every Octoberfest season to have a Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale on tap, but we really came to love this place. The staff has always been exceptionally friendly, their food is spectacular and well, our hard to find beer on tap. We went today - please understand that Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale is a weirdly relevant thing to my family, we buried my dad with a bottle - today is one year since my daddy died, so this was fitting. Our server, Colleen, was such an absolute sweetheart. We told her our whole family obsession with this beer and she bought us a round for my dad. She didn't have to do that. This place is top notch. Everyone from the bus boy to the servers to the bartender are WONDERFUL. We love this place. Worth an almost half hour drive from us.

Decided to swing by TDT on a Friday night to see a band I had previously seen called Total Soul. I was able to catch a single seat at the bar right away and had no trouble hearing the band for the time I was there. The bartenders were all attentive and made sure I was taken care of. Definitely try their chocolate martini, it was amazing. Update for 2/2/20 Went here for their disco night, it was jam-packed! There weren't enough bartenders by any means, the staff were getting overwhelmed. There were basically two bartenders handling a massive amount of people. When we tried requesting a drink, one bartender said they were only handling the dining room, another said he was handling just one side of the bar and the last one was handling everyone else. A woman dining at the bar was nice enough to order our drinks, but it was impossible to be served.

Food was decent... drinks were good and there DJ spinning 80sand 90 s music was great... lots of dancing and mingling They have different music depending on day of week... would def be back!! Fun place!

Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday on a Friday night. The hostess greeted us immediately. The place wasn't too busy, and there was a band setting up. The feel of the place immediately is just friendly, welcoming. A bar takes up the main room, with tables all around, and there appears to be a back room as well, for a quieter eating experience. Our waitress came over immediately and was never far away. We each ordered a burger and they were delicious. One with mushrooms, one with caramelized onions....medium well and medium rare, and they nailed it. The fries they come with were so yummy too. I ordered a Merlot, and I like a restaurant that gives you a good pour, and that they did. We ended the night with shots and a little cake for her birthday. They don't sing for a birthday, but she did put a candle in it, and actually didn't charge us, which was a nice surprise. I had a great time here. They apparently have many music events here, I will certainly be back. Definitely recommend.

Classic spot in the middle of town. Good food and attentive service. We always enjoy the live music.

My first experience at Twin Door Tavern was for an engagement party for friends and family, and let me tell you... it'll be my last. Not all, but most of the staff was extremely rude including management. We were talked down to as if we were less than, we were constantly being stared at and judged. What was supposed to be a light hearted and beautiful celebration, was tainted especially toward the end. Yes, our group may have been a little loud, but we were all celebrating something beautiful and of course when alcohol is involved people tend to be a little more noisy... YET! we were still kind, and we did not cause any issues. With that being said... Giving one star is actually a compliment considering they do not even deserve that, but Yelp will not let me post this review without at least a star.

just had lunch there today for first time. will probably not be back. first of all the room was very cold, secondly, I ordered a glass of chardonnay, when it came it was bubbling with fizziness, the waitress said that chardonnay was always fizzy. you demean your customers. the customer usually knows what they are talking about. I asked her to take it back. she then offered a glass of Pinot Grigio. so I said yes. I realize your clientel are not wine drinkers but you really should have more wine choices than a small refrigerator full of other things also beside the bar. ugh. You are amateurs A cold glass of Chardonnay should not be too much to ask.

Average food at best, prices are not cheap. Bar service was slow while we had to put up with some really low class people speaking inappropriately and LOUD. Never again.

Came here for my in laws bday! It was ok. Nothing to write home about. The table split the big daddy pretzel which was very good and the calamari. Between the two the pretzel was better but both good. We ordered mainly off the German octoberfest menu so it came with a choice of soup. I really wanted the French onion soup but they said they couldn't do that --- this irritated me a bit but whatever I moved on. I got the onion soup with no cheese--- and then I got the Austrian goulash which was pretty good. The beef in the noodles was delicious but the noodles were a little too soft for my liking.

Long time customers have had a change of heart after lunch today. They advertise kids eat free Wednesday. No where on their menu did it say it was for dinner only. Last time we were there they gave us the kids meals for free. Their excuse was that shouldn't have happened. So this is my fault? Anyway, the server was obnoxious and rude when we asked about the kids meals. It's obvious they don't get many in there for free kids meals So go there for lunch and order an adult entree on Wednesday and get a kids meal for free until they change the wording in the menu. We won't be returning any time soon.

We went for dinner and to see the Elton Joel band play. Talk about a great time! The food was very good. We had a spinach artichokes dip with tortilla chips which was delicious. The chips were fresh and were made with real tortillas cut and fried - they weren't premade tortilla chips. Also had a white pie that was nothing special. The sliced steak sandwich was fantastic. Meat cooked medium rare with frizzled onions. There is a $10 cover for the band nights and trivia nights but two drinks and you easily hit that. It was a fun crowd. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is my 7th check in here. This place is quite nicely done for a small town. Great service, love their wings, fish tacos and steaks. This is a nice place to hang out with family and friends especially late nights

Great place! We have been coming for the past 4 years since we bought in Maywood. This is the ultimate family place! The food is always fresh and delicious, we've had the burgers, fish, pastas, and numerous apps - all fantastic! Staff is very attentive! They also have a FANTASTIC bartender Monica! Great place!

We used to come here when this was the Maywood Inn but decided to give it a go at the newly renovated building. Boy were we glad we did! First of all, the staff was amazingly friendly and our waitress Ro (the best) and her parents (yep her folks were there) made us feel at home and so much fun! The food was so good. I had the seafood chowder soup, oysters on the half shell and soft shell crabs francese. My wife had the salad, mashed potatoes, roasted cauliflower and onion rings. Dessert was profiterole and chocolate cake. Everything was so delicious and cooked/made perfectly. I totally recommend the Twin Door Tavern in Maywood. Come and see Ro, she'll make your night that much better!

Came here for dinner with some friends. Also check in on yelp for a FREE appetizer with the purchase of an entree. We had the spinach dip which was served warm with colorful tortilla chips. Very good! They have a variety of foods from sandwiches, pastas, bar pizzas, burgers, and salads. Other yelpers talk about the French onion soup but it will be something I'll try next time. Food was served quickly and tasted delicious. I had ordered the corned beef Reuben sandwich and it served open face with a handful of crisp French fries. The service was great and everyone was very attentive to our needs. The restaurant was very clean and also must mention plenty of parking along the street and behind the restaurant.

I've been to the Twin Door Tavern a couple times over the past year and each time I enjoyed my experience. First, my USTA coordinator organized our captains meeting here. They put out a buffet of salad, pasta, rice, chicken francese, and another meat dish. I definitely enjoyed all of the food when I came for this event which was held in the additional dining room that is separate from the bar area. On my most recent visit, some friends and I decided to stop by for a Friday happy hour. Twin Door Tavern was busy on a Friday evening! They had a live band coming in which definitely increased the crowd over the course of the evening. We mainly came for drinks but a few people ordered food/apps. One person ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and was a bit disappointed that the dip wasn't warm all the way through. I mainly enjoyed wine so I cannot comment on the others meals/dessert but they looked tasty. I think the only "compliant" was that I felt as though we were a burden. It was a larger group of us but from the time we came in it felt as though we were going to be a "problem" for where to put us and then we were told we needed to leave by a certain time because others had reserved the place we had been put into. I do understand that it was a busy night for them so I wasn't truly bothered by this because I understood but others in my group weren't as pleased. I will return!

My favoriteeeee bar in the Northern NJ area ! You couldn't ask for better food or better bartenders ! You're always greeted warmly and it really is a family here. The food is delicious ! My favorites are the cauliflower tacos and the chicken Parmesan , but everything on the menu is great!!

Planned my best friend's bridal shower here and it was great! They have a renovated room on the side that is a nice size and gets great natural lighting. Food was Delicious and staff was super attentive. We setup night and day of, anything we needed they had for us (microphone for games, bridal chair, extension cord, etc) I highly recommend! Special thank you to Judy and Rosemarie for being exceptional through and through!

local NJ spot my family's been coming to for years, if we're being honest the food is okay (huuuuge variety i will say, but no one's really going to a bar/pub for authentic italian food. stick to the american classics and the sandwiches when it comes to ordering and you won't be disappointed) the reason i do give such a high star count is for the staff. my grandpa legitimately comes here e v e r y day. the bar is his home and the staff are his pals. it's the kindness and sincerity the staff offers that makes this place awesome. also one of the BEST french onion soups i've ever had, if you're coming it's a must try

Firehouse Tango-Milonga II, which normally holds their Tango Dance Lessons at 105 Grove Ave. Maywood, were misplaced for a night and held their Dance session at Twin Door Tavern. Besides the food, the service, the place being of high quality and top shelf, this comment is about the courtesy of your Servers and Staff. The food is always fresh and delicious. Gerry Matt and Cormac are great personable bartenders who make amazing drinks. And there is live entertainment on the weekends and they book great bands

I miss Victor's Maywood Inn. There... I said it. It has to be honored for the thousands who fondly remember a reunion, party, or some other special occasion they attended there. I meet these people all over the country...serious. But in this day and age with restaurants, food trucks, and pop ups everywhere in this area, a change had to be made. Especially with the fairly new Oak Ale House right down the block and Vic's dining room catering to the early bird, in bed by 9pm crowd....if ya know what I mean.... Its nice inside. Nice remod. Modern pubby atmosphere. They really opened up the place. The bar is always jumping. Live music and events (like drink and paint) are the norm. Check out the website for schedules. Weak point is the food. Its ok grub. But doesn't live up to the hype on the menu. Sounds great....tastes good. Dig? Fair selection of craft beers...again FAIR selection.

This was a real treat. I wanted the special, pot roast and waitress cheerfully check with the chef. Adjusted the dish, it was delicious! Gluten free buns and pizza also available. Very much a tavern, with Sinatra, Martin, Armstrong et al playing in the background.
