Yelp
A good breakfast needs three elements: (1) Get the basics right; (ii) Have good coffee; and (iii) Have friendly servers. Twisted Biscuit offers all three, along with an extensive and interesting menu, so it is easy to give Twisted Biscuit a five star review.
My party of three was seated upon our arrival at about 10:30am on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was crowded already and soon after we arrived, there was a waiting list for a table. Taveres is an out of the way location, but the locals seem to provide more than enough customers to keep Twisted Biscuit busy.
I ordered a Cyclone Omlette. From the menu, the Cyclone is described as "[a] three egg soufflé style omelet filled with your favorites!: I chose green peppers, onions, mushrooms, spinach, and shredded cheddar, served with hash browns and a biscuit. (Options are also available to satisfy carnivores.)
The omelette, which I ordered with egg whites, was indeed a fluffy, soufflé styled creation. Fillings were all fresh. Most importantly, it was not at all greasy. Hash browns were good. (I am pretty sure hash browns can only be graded on a binary good/bad scale. I really enjoy them when they are good -- so not greasy -- and these fit the bill.). Biscuit was very good. I chose a corn/jalapeno biscuit from a list of several options, and I could have been very happy eating those biscuits all day long.
Coffee was served piping hot and had good flavor. It was well brewed, unlike my experience at a lot of mom and pop breakfast eateries. I downed several cups and my server made sure that my cup never ran dry.
If I find myself in Taveres, or within 20 miles of it again, I will surely be back!
