A great brunch restaurant in the neighborhood! The food is delicious and served quickly after ordering. Our server, Kimberly B, always provides a top-notch service. Other staffs are also very friendly. The sage biscuit is our favorite! Other menu items we recommend are: Crab Cake Benedict, Bayou Benedict, Shrimp & Grits, and Very Berry Biscuits. Oh I almost forget the deep fried bacon and onion rings!

Yes, the location looks sketchy but trust me when I say you want to stop here. They are a “high volume” restaurant on weekends so you can expect a line if you’re here on a Saturday or Sunday. But you can also sit at the bar (open seating) and get service a little faster. The food comes out quick! We tried an omelet, 3 different biscuit flavors, and the big country breakfast. It was too good, y’all! The bacon was perfectly cooked, the gravy was tasty and not too salty. Our only teeny negative is that we didn’t have quick drink refills (but again it was very busy). It wasn’t loud to the point we couldn’t have a conversation, but it was definitely noisy. If you want somewhere quiet, this isn’t it (at least not on the weekend). Apparently, it’s slow during the week so I’d suggest going then if you’re local. Either way, we don’t mind because the food and service were great. We’ll be back if/when we come to Mission Inn again!

Rode out here as a group to celebrate a friend's birthday. Our first time here. Colleen was our server, very nice and on top of things. Food was very good as well I would definitely come back. On our check we had ordered the Bayou Benedict, Texas hash with a fried grit cake, short stack breakfast. Everything was perfect. I'd recommend to anyone who's in the area. Come stop by and have a nice lunch on the patio.

We had a party of six and every single one of us left impressed! Twisted Biscuit Diner absolutely nailed it from start to finish. I had the chicken and tater—crispy, juicy chicken paired with golden, perfectly seasoned taters. Comfort food done right! The service was fast, friendly, and super accommodating for our group. The vibe is cozy and upbeat, and the entire menu looked amazing. Portions are generous, and everything coming out of the kitchen looked like it belonged on a food show. If you're craving comfort food with serious flavor, this place is a must. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

Google
Great mom and pop restaurant. Stacey was our service. She was awesome, with good recommendations. If we're ever back in the area, we'll definitely be back

If you want a traditional American Breakfast, with excellent service, there's no where else to go. I definitely recommend it. On the weekends you might have to wait to be seated. Our waiter Stacy was extremely helpful and kind.

Google
I have eaten here multiple times. Service is quick, efficient and friendly. The drinks are awesome as well. The biscuits kill it so they live up to their name for sure. Give them a try and you won't be disappointed. Thank you Breanna for your kind service. You're so sweet!

Yelp
I'm only visiting Florida but decided to stop in to try this for breakfast. I'm quite impressed with it. This was two biscuits with two sausage patties and gravy on it. The taste was amazing and it was very very filling. Our waitress was attentive and visited our table probably 8 times through our hour here, so that's very nice. The overall restaurant was clean and well decorated, and everyone seemed to be pretty happy around. definitely worth checking out if you're in the area, but show up early because they were quite busy!

Yelp
Totally loved this place! Great breakfast brunch lunch spot ever! It's a local place that is a hidden gem! And!!! 1/2 priced Bloody Mary's and Mimosas with any natural juice!!! Amazing! The food is fresh and delicious. The servers were so awesome, very attentive and friendly. I tried their 100% maple syrup!!! Yummy!! I highly recommend Twisted Biscuit!! You will not be disappointed!! I'll be back!!!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got the chance too. The Texas hash is amazing! It was so good and I was a little skeptic at first with it not using much except potatoes and brisket, but I was very much surprised by the flavor it packed. I had the bacon and cheese biscuit with it and I wasn't impressed by it at all. I think next time I'll get the plain one instead. My husband and MIL got pancakes and love them. I have to admit those pancakes looked pretty good.

Yelp
It was well worth the drive to this strip mall eatery. The food was fantastic and our server was hilarious. The biscuits were very tasty. My Wife reported her chicken, and brisket were dry. The pulled pork was good and she liked her green beans. My tacos were good, but less slaw would be nice. The place is on a corner of a strip mall. The interior was nice. Our spiked coffee beverages were overpriced. I won't get one next time. We will visit again.

Yelp
This is a fabulous diner in Tavares! Food was incredible - great mimosas, and the variety of biscuits is a wonderful testament to its name! Sundays offer special bennys so you just can't go wrong here! Colleen was also a wonderful server - a true server who knows her customers and loves their enjoyment of great food!

Yelp
The food was amazing. The staff was friendly would definitely come back here. In fact we will!

Yelp
This place is a must for breakfast or brunch! Lots of seating inside and outside, even though it was busy we were sat right away. Our waitress was incredibly sweet, kept our drinks filled from start to finish. There are plenty of options for everyone on the menu, and everything sounds fantastic. They also have daily specials, which are different each day. We opted for the hot honey chicken biscuit which was fantastic!! The chicken was crispy and moist, the biscuit was moist and not dry. The only complaint from my fiancé was that there wasn't enough spice on it, although for me it was perfect. We also got the sausage biscuit gravy with an added egg on top. The biscuit is sage flavor which compliments the meal so well. We will for sure be back! They also sell beer, mimosas, and bloody Mary's!!

Yelp
Great diner!! Tavares is a cute town so these types of diners that don't just offer plain biscuits and gravy/pancakes are my fave! Very cool that they have different options. The service was great especially for Easter Sunday. The restaurant itself was very cute and family friendly .
google avatar

Yelp
Great little country restaurant. Lines can get long after church on a Sunday but it's great delicious food. Worth it if you are in the area.
google avatar

Karen A.

Yelp
Food was fantastic! Interesting selection of food and mimosas. Service was quick. I got the pig licker and a fried grit cake. The pig licker could have used just a touch more gravy, but that's me being extremely picky. The mermaid mimosa was good. They are large and hit the spot. Highly recommend! I will be back.

Yelp
AMAZING, gimme more of them. Fantastic. Hands down best biscuits I've ever had. Very unique flavors.

Yelp
We showed up at 12:50 On a Sat and was packed. 1:05 almost Empty. We got the worst seat in the house right next to the kitchen and at the end of the bar. Way to noisy and you get to her all the banter between the staff. I did not like that. I was happy to try another biscuit place. The biscuits We're good. So better than others. My French toast had a biscuit inside. So you can Make it out of any of the biscuits you have. I could have ordered a bacon cheese biscuit French toast. Next time I am there I will do that. It seems the locals Love it my wife has the chicken and the ranch creamy hash browns were sooooooo Good. I will drive 45 mins back to this place so I can get some to go. I would love to figure out the recipe. Over food was great. Service was ok. I should have asked for a different table after the crown left. But I will be back.

Yelp
My wife and I have been coming here a min once a month for the last year. My wife was in the mood to go this morning. Wife dropped me off so she could park. It wasn't the normal 20 min wait. First young lady asked how many and I stated 2. She handed the menus to another young lady who brought me to my table. She didn't crack a smile once or even a enjoy. Great start! When my wife came in she asked if we could change to a booth. NO only for parties of 4. Now my wife is pissed! Did not get the name of the server (pregnant), but started to take our drink order. Again my wife asked about the booth next to us that was empty and how the front said no. WHAT THEY SAY GOES, then proceeded to walk away while my wife was still talking. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Immediately got up and walked out. My wife and I have been in the service business. We drop a minimum $50 plus 20% tip every time we come in. WE WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN! If I could have given a zero i would have.

Yelp
A wide selection of unique breakfast combinations, excellent food. Wait staff excellent. Always busy, every day of the week

Yelp
Wow!! The Harley Biscuit with that etouffee gravy with crawfish and mushrooms over 2 huge hog fish snapper fillets that completely covered two housemade jalapeño biscuits was top five breakfast dishes ever. Highly recommend this place better get there early the menu is huge and everything is delicious.Service is top notch coffee cup never saw the bottom.

Yelp
Met a friend here while in town. Breakfast was good and decent price. Service was great. I think this is where locals go.

Yelp
Husband and I traveled to Florida to look for a house to rent and we had breakfast here one morning. Everything was amazing and we will be back! We have since moved back to FL and this diner is close to our home. Couldn't be happier about that! Looking forward to our next visit here.

Skylar S.

Yelp
Ok, this place definitely a 5 star!! The waitress was amazing and so sweet, our drinks were out so quick and food tasted amazing! Definitely love the chocolate chip pancake, prices were good. A kids meal only 7-8 dollars and is awesome. It was my dad's birthday and she made him feel special love it!
google avatar

Brad M.

Yelp
Really love the biscuits here. I love that they have such a variety of different flavors. The pimento cheese is incredible. I will say I'm not giving this a five star because I wasn't really a big fan of the Bayou Benedict. But everything else we had was incredible.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
A surprise find, get there early it gets crowded and lines for fast. Get there @8am they keep it nice and cool inside!
google avatar

Yelp
This place was BUSY on a Saturday morning and it's easy to understand why. The food is perfect southern breakfast but without being greasy. The steak and eggs were perfectly cooked and I haven't found a better pancake in Lake County. An amazing place to go for the best breakfast!
google avatar

Elaine B.

Yelp
First of all...Colleen! Excellent is the word that comes to mind. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. Second, this is our 2nd visit. Once again I am currently in a food coma. A good one. The first visit I wanted to try one of everything and totally overate. I was of use to no one the remainder of the day. But it was sooooo good! Today I ordered two eggs scrambled, white toast, hash browns, and extra extra crispy bacon. Everything came out just as I ordered it. Excellent. My husband ordered the special brisket biscuit with hollandaise. OMG. He can't wait to go back next week. When we got there they said the wait was about 15 minutes and we were seated in about 5.
google avatar

Yelp
Good food and service. Be prepared to be patient waiting to get a table on weekends. It's a favorite place for brunch.
google avatar

Kristie W.

Yelp
I have wanted to try this place for a while. I have heard that it's busy and usually a wait. We arrived around 10am. You are greeted by a hostess to seat you. The place was full and we had the choice to sit at the counter or outside. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They offer mixed drinks and basic coffee with reg creamer. We ordered the Pig Licker full order $11.99 that comes with 2 biscuits with a sausage patty on each and covered in white gravy. It is normally served with sage biscuits but we opted for the bacon cheddar biscuits. The flavors were very good but the gravy wasn't very warm. We also ordered the Very Berry Biscuit $11.99 that is a biscuit made with berries and then topped with a berry syrup & fresh berries and whip cream. It was very yummy. The only downside is the biscuit gets soggy with the syrup. Next time, I will try the berry french toast instead. Our server was sweet & attentive. You can see this is a local favorite with many who are regulars. The entire staff work well together to make it a good experience. We will definitely be back and try some other yummy options!

Robert N.

Yelp
We have been going for approximately 2 years to this restaurant with no complaints. Today was a different experience. My wife ordered eggs , bacon and hash browns. The hash browns came out tasting terrible and were hard on one side and raw on the other.Told the server and he brought another order with the same problem. Upon taking to the server and the manager we were told it was late in the day and that was just the way it was. This was not handled properly, the cost of the hash browns was taken off but after 2 years and never complaining before I would have thought completely comping the meal would have been an option. Not planning on going back.

Yelp
A good breakfast needs three elements: (1) Get the basics right; (ii) Have good coffee; and (iii) Have friendly servers. Twisted Biscuit offers all three, along with an extensive and interesting menu, so it is easy to give Twisted Biscuit a five star review. My party of three was seated upon our arrival at about 10:30am on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was crowded already and soon after we arrived, there was a waiting list for a table. Taveres is an out of the way location, but the locals seem to provide more than enough customers to keep Twisted Biscuit busy. I ordered a Cyclone Omlette. From the menu, the Cyclone is described as "[a] three egg soufflé style omelet filled with your favorites!: I chose green peppers, onions, mushrooms, spinach, and shredded cheddar, served with hash browns and a biscuit. (Options are also available to satisfy carnivores.) The omelette, which I ordered with egg whites, was indeed a fluffy, soufflé styled creation. Fillings were all fresh. Most importantly, it was not at all greasy. Hash browns were good. (I am pretty sure hash browns can only be graded on a binary good/bad scale. I really enjoy them when they are good -- so not greasy -- and these fit the bill.). Biscuit was very good. I chose a corn/jalapeno biscuit from a list of several options, and I could have been very happy eating those biscuits all day long. Coffee was served piping hot and had good flavor. It was well brewed, unlike my experience at a lot of mom and pop breakfast eateries. I downed several cups and my server made sure that my cup never ran dry. If I find myself in Taveres, or within 20 miles of it again, I will surely be back!

Yelp
It's ok place. Service was lack luster and food was ok. Not keen on all the swamp style food....
google avatar

Monicalyn M.

Yelp
Half-priced mimosa or bloody mary while you wait? That alone is enough to lure me in!" The star of the show here is undoubtedly the biscuit. Not only can you choose from a variety of biscuit-centered dishes, but you can also customize your dish by selecting the flavor of the biscuit - and several are offered daily. While incredibly decadent and delicious, the Slap Your Mama Biscuit is also quite heavy (as expected) and large enough for two people to share. The restaurant has outdoor seating, but the metal chairs can be uncomfortable. Inside, there is both bar and table seating. The service was fast, and our server was attentive and personable. I will visit again next time I travel in that direction, but the restaurant is a hike if you are coming from Orlando however, it's a great option if you are in the Tavares or Mount Dora area.

Yelp
Food is delicious - I love the chicken and biscuit with hot honey. Everything we have had here is good. Service is great, the place is very clean and nice looking. We love this place!

Yelp
It was my husband and I first time here we've heard many good things about it, but unfortunately, we did not experience any of that. When we arrived, we were seated and give menus within a minute. The waitress was back, asking us if we were ready the menu is full of information that we've not familiar with, so I wanted to look at the menu longer so she told us when we were ready to just close the menus Never heard that before. So when I did have some questions, I asked her while she was cleaning tables and helping other customers if she can answer some questions and instead of coming over to us, she was trying to answer questions while cleaningother tables. Wasn't sure what she was talking about when she answered my questions referring to what was included with some of the breakfasts cause she said them so quickly. Not impressed at all. When other people came in and were seated near us, the waitress to left was very informative to their people. Our waitress decided that she was gonna break down the menu to somebody else. Ask them if it was their first time here and explained also that the mimosas have alcohol in them. We were explained nothing. We were not broken down the menu, not asked if it was our first time not even standing near us to answer questions. I'm sorry if we were an interruption to her job, but I thought we were her job. My husband ordered pecan pancakes with bacon bacon never came. She never put it in. I was clueless to the menu so I just ordered a biscuit and at that point I was very angry anyway, so I had lost my appetite. As we left the gentleman at the register asked us how everything was. I told him it was our first and last time we will ever be there and that we would make sure we tell our friends about the horrible experience we had all he kept saying was he was sorry. So when we left and we were outside, man ran up to us. I guess it was the manager and all he kept saying is I'm sorry about the experience and I wish I was up there when you were there OK so why are you out here talking to us all you kept telling me was you're sorry that was nothing different than what the man at the register said to us now you're making me even more angry. I've been in the food industry. I know times it's busy, but why is it that we were treated this way and others around us was not. Oh that I failed to mention we are also an interracial couple. I wonder if that had anything to do with it. Trust me, we will never ever be back there again. By the way, I did taste that biscuit and it was nasty.
google avatar

Jessica F.

Yelp
Everything I had here was delicious! I love that they have so many flavors of biscuits. I split the pig licker biscuits and the French country biscuits (which I chose to be peaches and cream biscuits) with a family member and WOW! We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table for 8 at about 9am on a Sunday morning. During the wait, you can get half priced mimosas or bloody marys. I had a pomegranate mimosa which was mostly champagne but very tasty! Our waitress was super sweet and came around to refill coffee a lot despite it being busy. It's a little chilly so if you get cold easily I'd bring a jacket.
google avatar

Bella L.

Yelp
Stopped here while on vacation. Loved this place! Busy, but we were seated quickly. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food was delish! And we left with a box of their various biscuits to bring home. Definitely try the lemon blueberry biscuit!
google avatar

DawnMarie R.

Yelp
The two stars are for the very good server. Despite being extremely busy she was nice and attentive. The bacon was served ice box cold The "pancakes"? I'm at a loss. Run a knife through them and they crumbled. No flavor. Served with a teeny tiny bit of syrup

Hannah B.

Yelp
Our server was amazing. I ordered the Florida Cracker Benedict. It was very good. I can't wait to try other items on the menu!
google avatar

Lois K.

Yelp
The service was outstanding but the biscuits were more like a bland cake! I expected more so maybe my expectations were too high. But biscuits should not be made in a cake pan & cut. They should all have a nice crust & delicious taste. Maybe I'm too southern.

Jan D.

Yelp
Stop by quite often. Try to go during the week if possible as it is busy. Although, if you have to wait, they offer half price mimosas and bloody Marys! Love the unique offerings. Great friendly service.
google avatar

Tom M.

Yelp
Very flavorful! Always fresh and extensive offerings. Excellent staff! Wish it was open for dinner also.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
I really enjoyed their food. They had large portions. They have a very large menu with many options so most people should be able to find something.

Gee D.

Yelp
The food there was delicious. The service was excellent. It's a great non franchise breakfast spot. My husband and I enjoyed our meal.

Rick W.

Yelp
Brisket Chili not good. Chili must been from a can terrible. Southern BLT was just ok bacon was truff and fried green tomatoes were mushy
google avatar

Phil E.

Yelp
This was a tasty little diner with decent prices and lots to choose from. Definitely bring you appetite. The "trademark " biscuits are to die for. I had the special shrimp and grits (and would order that again). Love the atmosphere and the music. Waitstaff was helpful and friendly. There is a full bar (and drink menu). They are open until 3PM
google avatar

Beth W.

Yelp
We're so glad we stopped. Breakfast was delicious, the place was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. Skip the National chains and eat here instead!
google avatar

Yelp
Fabulous. Betsy experience ever! Great staff very kind generous and helpful! I highly recommend this for your birthday!
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
Best breakfast place in the area. The service is lightning fast and they weee very kind to us. The food was delicious and just the right amount of food. Thank you for affordable pricing on quality food
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
My wife and I were vacationing Florida from California. Our family who lives in Florida took us to Twisted Biscuit for breakfast. First, our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful explaining and suggesting food for us. The food was absolutely delicious!! We visit Florida two times a year and this will be our breakfast stop each visit!
google avatar

Krystal H.

Yelp
Go on Sunday for the crab cake Benedict! Amazing! The wait hasn't been long lately but it's worth it if there is one!
google avatar

Phillip B.

Yelp
Wow! Eclectic menu for a diner "in the sticks". Outside Mount Dora, behind Tavares, not quite Howey in the Hills, a blue collar corner with an upscale menu. Really good food with an emphasis on biscuits (multiple flavors like maple bacon). Daily specials like prime rib w/2 eggs and cheese grits, so good! Good server team as well made the experience delightful. Counter and table or booth seating and patio dining. Newer styling and clean, very nice
google avatar

Cori M.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE this breakfast place. My husband and I go pretty often. The mimosas are huge!! - and I usually get the tornado scrambler. Food is always fresh and bar staff is always on point . 10/10 recommend
google avatar

Marilyn S.

Yelp
Nice place. Lots of parking available as it is at the tail end of a strip mall. Outside seating is available. Loved the Half Price Mimosa and Bloody Mary's while you are in that wait list.Bloody Mary was a masterpiece! I did not get a photo. All the food was delicious! My grit cake lacked salt but that was an easy fix. All poached eggs were over but we didn't complain. Service was friendly and fast! This place was hopping on the Sunday we went, worth the trip.
