On the Grid : Twisted Fork Bistro

"This casual and delightful bistro on Granville is a little bit French, but nevertheless decidedly local. Natives of the BC interior, the owners are passionate about home-grown ingredients and spinning them into home-style cooking. It is only open from 8AM to 3PM and sports a healthy queue at weekend brunch hour, but it is well worth the visit. If you sign up for their mailing list, you might sneak into the occasional dinner seating. Wink, wink." - Becki Chan & Milos Begovic

Service was amazing. Surprised there was no wait on a Saturday around noon. Very friendly and attentive staff. Very genuine people. The hot sauces are made in house and absolutely delicious. Even bought one to take home! My only slight complaint was the brioche became extremely soggy very quickly, but the benny was still very good. I am happy that I asked for medium poached and actually got what I asked for. Would still recommend and definitely will come back!

I visit the Twisted Fork every time I am in town. This is absolutely my favorite spot to have breakfast. I love their brunch options and the ingredients are always delicious and fresh. The place has a touch of contemporary art that definitely adds something special.

Google
We hit up this spot for brunch on Sunday, probably around noon, and it was still buzzing! The guy at the entrance who took our names was awesome. The place itself is really nice, I loved the rustic decor and the food was super tasty. It was such a bummer we missed out on the shakshuka, though – they'd already run out! The salad dressing, in particular, was fantastic. My only gripe is that the portions felt a bit small for the price, especially for brunch. We actually left still pretty hungry.

Google
We had breakfast here today and ordered the French Toast, Eggs Benny, scones, and coffee. Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic. I can highly recommend this place!

Google
4.7 stars. Enjoyed a nice brunch on a beautiful Saturday morning. Eggs Benny with salmon was the bomb. Eggs were perfectly poached. Hollandaise was spot on. Potato side was very nice and salad was fresh. I really liked the house-made hot sauces. Put this one on your list.

Google
Delicious Brunch spot in the heart of Gastown. The service was awesome and the food Delicious. Absolutely recommend the iced mocha to drink! Can't get over their home made jams and hot sauces as well. Very happy!

Google
This was hands down the best breakfast I’ve ever had! The food was absolutely delicious, and you can tell they take care to season everything perfectly. The scrambled eggs with spinach and corn were a unique and flavorful combination, and the bread was incredibly soft yet perfectly crunchy—definitely made in-house. Mike was wonderful, so friendly and a pleasure to chat with. He and his team do an amazing job. Just a heads-up, it gets very busy, so there might be a short wait if you have a large group. Smaller parties (under five) are seated more quickly due to limited space. Highly recommend!

Google
THE BEST BRUNCH OF MY LIFE! The food was unbelievable, all the ingredients were homemade. We got shakshuka and the French toast both of which were delicious. The staff were so nice and attentive. 10 out of 10 out of 10 out of 10! Highly recommend 😎

Yelp
Very popular and busy breakfast spot in Gastown, Vancouver! We didn't have a reservation and waited 45 mins for a table during weekend brunch. However, we were happy grabbing a nearby coffee while we waited. When we were finally seated, we wanted to order nearly everything on the menu. Everything sounded delicious. We ended up ordering the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, banana bread, shakshuka, and French toast. The eggs Benedict was delicious with its light and creamy hollandaise sauce and perfectly poached eggs. Shakshuka was just ok, I feel like it could've packed more flavor. The French toast was amazing. The dish itself was ginormous, but we finished every bite. Everyone left feeling happy and full!

Yelp
A beautiful awesome day, amazing people of the world. Today we are at Twisted Fork in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. We're coming in for some good brunch cause you know, me and the crew gotta eat before heading up to whistler for some shred sesh. I ordered the shakshuka which was an ovolacto vegetarian option. Something that I usually gravitate to whenever I see it on the menu. A play of sweet, savory and acidic paired up with the pita bread is destruction my friend. Then there's the French toast which was perfect. The fruits were spot on with the ripeness and the toast had great flavor and texture. Not overly sweet as well. Anywho, we had an awesome time smashing away at the food here. I highly recommend coming here for brunch if you guys are in the area. If you like discovering new spots to smash, hit that follow button, gimme that UFN as well. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps you with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day! I love you!

Yelp
Great little breakfast place in Gastown with seating inside and out. Breakfast cocktails, strong breakfast options, people watching and a friendly waitstaff make it a worthwhile destination. The stuffed French toast serving size was too much for this mere mortal but every bite was scrumptious. My companions cleared their plates too. The only sorta suggestion I would levy would be to offer some sort of protein to counter all the sweetness in the French toast.

Yelp
Food is good, some sweet on the beans and hash browns? I ordered egg Benedict and baked eggs with Gouda cheese My son loved the bake eggs and I loved the Benny eggs but nothing else in my plate but the spinach. Sauces are good and they bring you the whole carafe of coffee with h for me was a plus! Service was amazing, very nice people and the place and ambiance is great!

Yelp
Sad I wasted a meal in Canada on this place. I decided to check this place out due to the high yelp and google reviews, but I regret it. There are 4 brunch options for $25 CAD. Not worth it. The service is good, but the cooks handling of the food makes me want to gag. I think this food gave me the runs. The cooks are sweating, wiping their sweat, and making your food. Wish I could go back in time and skip this place.

Yelp
The place had a nice ambiance, and the service was good. The menu selection was a bit limited, which we didn't expect, but we found items we liked. The French toast, stuffed with bananas, was tasty, and the scrambled eggs were just alright. The only downside was the area--it's a bit sketchy.

Yelp
First time at twisted fork and had the best brunch experience. Servers were attentive and friendly. The portions were huge, very filling and delicious. I love me some condiments and twisted fork's homemade MANGO jam and homemade hot sauce....was amazing.

Yelp
Grabbing brunch and saw this had high ratings so we slipped in. This is located in the Gastown district which means street parking. The area is very walkable and a high tourist area as well. Seating is limited but they do a great job with the space they have. The menu is limited and the main dishes are a little pricey but I will tell you they are worth it. I was more than full when I left. I ordered the Eggs Benny with bacon and it also comes with spinach, hash browns and baked beans. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and creamy alarmist buttery on the inside. Great flavor. The beans have a Smokey BBQ flavor to them. I not normally a baked bean person but I definitely ate about half of theses. The main portion was amazing. Perfectly toasted Brioche with length of perfectly cooked bacon topped with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. The yolk break was so satisfying and the bread to dip-ability was perfect. My boyfriend ordered the French toast and I took a couple bites and it yelled bananas. It was so tasty. Also the French press coffee was so smooth. The staff was quick and polite. Fast to turn over tables as people finished up which was needed for the line that was starting to form. We will be recommending this place to friends who visit here for sure! The decor is super cute and it he place of very clean.

Yelp
Wonderful breakfast! We sat outside in the newly added outdoor area! Food was fabulous. We had the Eggs Beny and the Crouque Monsieur! We are just in the city for a few days or would definitely go back . I am a Travel Advisor and have pre and post cruise clients in and out of Vancouver so will be recommending!

Yelp
This is an amazing spot for brunch! Tasty food and really cute and cozy vibe. My friends and I arrived with a party of six and it took less than ten minutes to get us seated... not sure if we lucked out but the wait never looked very long! I got the Eggs Benny with salmon and it was amazing and the Asiago scones are a MUST! If you order coffee, it comes to your table in a French press which you get to press & my tea drinkers got a cute little tea pot! You've gotta check out this spot when you're in Vancouver!

Tara M.

Yelp
Such kind and helpful service from blessing and the food was INCREDIBLE. couldn't recommend this place enough. also really nice vibe and kind staff overall :)

Yelp
One of the best breakfast restaurants near the edge of Gastown and Chinatown. We stumbled on this popular eatery on our way to Vancouver's Chinatown. Best time to go just before 9am otherwise there can be a long lineup. Order their organic pancakes...a lot of vegan choices! Limited seating. $-$$. No reservations, parking in the streets.

Yelp
I've only been to Twisted Fork for dinner at their old location on Granville so I was excited to try their brunch. I love the space here! It's so bright and the decor is very interesting. The Banana stuffed brioche French toast came with 3 giant pieces of bread! The vanilla whipped cream was really good! The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The Shakshuka was a flavourful mixture of eggplant, tomato and onion. It came with house made pita bread, tahini and salad. All their brunch items are $23.50.

Yelp
Extremely cute place to grab brunch with your bestie. They also offer amazing French press coffee to start your weekend. Very nice poached eggs too!

Yelp
We found Twisted Fork in Yelp since we wanted to do brunch today. It's located at the end of Gastown, and at about 10:30am, we had to wait for just a little bit (5-ish minutes) for a table. We drinks we had the mimosa, Frenchie's Lemonade and the white Sangria. Honestly they were okay - next time I could get the drinks, or pass on them. For our meal my husband ordered the Croque Monsier. It was really good - savory and warm. But it is a very heavy dish - but he still ate most of it! I took a chance on a new dish for me - the Shakshuka. I loved it! The tomato base has a tiny bit of a kick and all the produce in it was very tasty. The poached eggs were perfectly made and a beautiful marigold color. My son ordered the Smoked Salmon Benny, and he ate the entire dish. It also had the perfectly poached and beautiful eggs. This was a great brunch, and I know on our next trip to Vancouver we'll have this one the list to go to.

Yelp
Delicious food! This was our first time in Vancouver and we are so happy we found this spot! The service was very fast and our waiter was so friendly. He made us feel very welcomed and gave recommendations.

Yelp
Uniquely designed brunch recipes are amazing in taste. Both sweet & savoury options are available. Menu is not so vast but serves the purpose of a brunch restaurant. Both alcoholic & non alcoholic drinks are available but in coffee only French press option is available. Atmosphere of this place is unmatchable. Most desiring location under the sun and in the city's most happening area. There is indoor seating as well. Staff is great too. We ordered French toast which was definitely a big portion served with some fruits n maple syrup but so delicious. Our other dish was savoury topped with perfectly poached eggs served with a naan bread , olives & some hummus.

Yelp
Visited Twisted Fork for brunch with a few of my girlfriends and we enjoyed our visit. The food was delicious and the coffee was amazing. There's usually a long line up but because we went 5 minutes after opening we were able to skip the crowd. The Shakshuka $18.50 Bacon Eggs Benny $18.50 French Press Coffee $4.00 **Prices include applicable taxes Service was 10/10 Food was 10/10 Parking was 6/10 (It's really hard to find parking)

Yelp
We had brunch here. The atmosphere is very cozy and creative. They have great cocktails! The food was too sweet for our likings.

Yelp
Staff are very nice. Food is excellent. I was very pleased here. I ordered the Eggs Benny and my husband got the Baked Eggs.

Yelp
Well, this is a first for us; 1111 reviews and mine will hopefully be 1112! Now, coming to the food - it was a beautiful and memorable experience - the staff was wonderful and the food yummy. Baileys with coffee sealed the deal!

Yelp
My friends and I were staying at an airbnb in Gastown and decided to come here for Saturday morning brunch. The service and food were 10/10!! Check out at the bnb was at 11 so we had to bring all of our luggage with us which was no problem with them!! They have a very curated menu but we all loved what we got!! We ordered the croque monsieur and the eggs benedict -- switched the baked beans for the salad. Speaking of salad, omg!! They had one of the best salads I have ever had, i'm not a huge fan of more vinegary dressings but the salad here had the perfect mixture of fresh and vinegary flavour!! I would love to come back to try other things on the menu!! The wait wasn't super long, and the food came in on a timely manner!! Would recommend!! It's a little bit pricey but 100% worth it!!

Yelp
Quaint little place in Gastown. Came in on our last morning in town for breakfast. Started with a pot of French Press coffee. That was kinda neat, as I've never had coffee that way before. Ordered the baked eggs and Gruyère cheese, It was good, but came to life when the waiter brought over a bottle of their O's hot sauce. Ended up buying a bottle of that stuff to take home! Can't remember the name of the dish my daughter had, but it was very Mediterranean, and very good. All-in-all, very well done.

Yelp
What a perfect place to relax, eat and soak up a little sunshine all at once. What a delicious and creative space. Everything is made in house and you can definitely tell. The food was amazing and the portions are very generous. The staff was awesome. It seemed like there was 2 of them on the floor for the space and they were working together wonderfully. We never waited for anything, they both took great care of us. We ordered the scrambled eggs and the bacon Benny. I wanted to try the French toast because it looked so amazing, but I decided to wait for that for next time ( because there will definitely be a next time). The scramble with feta and corn was so delicious, it was nothing I have had before. Simple yet super tasty, and the house made jams are out of this world. I could of definitely used a whole jar of those. They also brought over a house made hot sauce which was stellar, I would of bought that if they sold it. Perfect amount of heat with loads of flavor. Definitely try it if they have it. I had a wonderful experience here and I will certainly be coming back.

Yelp
Visiting Vancouver and wanted to check out Gastown one morning - happy to find this spot with fresh inventive brunch - really nice service and decor

Yelp
Salmon Benny was great in this very cute spot in gastown. The ambience and light through the window was nice as I enjoyed my mimosa and brunch. I wouldn't say I *need* to try other items here but it was great for a one time visit.

Yelp
A surprisingly quiet spot on this chilly Wednesday morning, considering they serve an impeccable, hearty brunch. The gorgeous decor has loads of intriguing artistic touches and service was terrific.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good breakfast spot with good coffee and a nice selection of both savory and sweet breakfast entrees. I specially recommend the smoked salmon bennys. Service can be slow but it is friendly and the place is quirky.
google avatar

Yelp
Are you kidding me with this place?? Absolute gem of a location for people watching. Not a bad seat in the house. Starting with the atmosphere - the decor is eclectic and unique - somethings you can't find anywhere else. Staff was on point with the recommendations. An absolute must try is the asiago scone. Absolute perfection. We didn't have a bad food item there. A line was beginning to form halfway through our time but we never felt rushed. Such an excellent experience. *Chefs Kiss*

Yelp
Dinner was so good we went back for brunch the next day! I recommend this place all the time! DELICIOUS!

Yelp
This restaurant always has a wait so expect to go on a little stroll while waiting for a text message from the waitlisted. The wait was a lot shorter than estimated, which was a bit unexpected in the middle of getting coffee. Thankfully they didn't say anything about us bringing it in. The waiter was super energetic and had a fun personality. The eggplant shakshuka is a fantastic vegan options with so many delicious sides to put on the pita alongside the main shakshuka and beautifully poached eggs. The turkey sausage Benny was delicious too. The hollandaise sauce is perfect and the turkey sausage had great seasoning. I wasn't a huge fan of the bread that it was placed over but it was still well toasted. The spinach in the side was super good, lightly seasoned and almost creamy. The beans were sweet with a deep barbeque us flavor. Finally, the potato hash crisp was very crispy and delicious too. The best part had to be their homemade ketchup. I had everything doused in some as it's flavor was super yummy and definitely distinct from normally sugary Heinz. This place is a must try brunch spot. It has very unique flavors different from normal brunch. Service is great although it is very busy with small seats. Vibes on a rainy day were very good. 9/10 overall

Yelp
Came here while visiting Vancouver! One of the restaurants wanted to experience after seeing lots of reviews on Yelp! Menu is focus a $21 brunch with 8-9 items to choose from ! Coffee is all you can drink ! We came on a Monday morning around 9ish with no wait ! Inside deco are all about cooking utensils, very interesting look ! The bread was not on the dense side , but you feel the crispy texture!
google avatar

Kat S.

Yelp
Stopped in here for a late lunch and oh my goodness. I inhaled my meal! Got the eggs Benny, a mock tail, and shared some Asiago scones. Fresh, flavorful, deeelicious. Also, perfect portions. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
A fantastic place to start your day or have a quick bite to eat if you are best. The coffee comes in a coffee press which is unique also since the coffee is directly from the press, it is fresh. The food was delicious and new, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Catherine M.

Yelp
Cute little hidden gem with great staff and amazing food. Highly recommended! Eggs Benedict and coffee are heavenly
google avatar

Daniel T.

Yelp
So many other places to get brunch that make this place look like Macdonald's. Go to "Meet" or, better, Water Street Cafe in Gastown.
google avatar

Ricky C.

Yelp
I haven't been back to Twisted Fork since they moved from their Granville location. I'm glad to report that the food is just as good with the familiar flavors. It still has the best mussels dish I've had in Vancouver. Although, I did find this time that the sauce was a tad bit salty, but still very delicious! The butternut squash was also very tasty well and I would recommend getting it too!
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfast and friendly atmosphere. The waiter/waitress provided excellent service. Will def be back when I visit Vancouver again.
google avatar

Clara B.

Yelp
I had a smoked salmon eggs benedict, my dining companion had the eggs in eggplant shashuka, we both had coffee. My serve of eggs benedict: Buttery toasted brioche, crisp around the edges rösti, perfectly poached eggs, well-seasoned chopped spinach, rich baked beans. It was a plate of happiness. Our servers were just the right amount of attentive, friendly and generally lovely. This was possibly one of the best brunches I've had all year!
google avatar

Justine Y.

Yelp
Excellent French toast and huge portions! What a delight this place was. Super friendly service. Would definitely recommend for anyone in the area looking to fill their bellies

Yelp
I wouldnt call twisted fork an exceptional place to get your brunch though. It is yet very basic and got the usual stuff. Just fyi twister fork is one of the most reviewed place in vancouver on yelp so this has been a place to go for a review. But just in my perspective that the food were pretty weak and there are better places to get brunch for me. Nonetheless, the shakshuka was the star dish of the brunch. I would recommend getting this compared to the other options. Cheers!

Kumar I.

Yelp
Great brunch (that's what we had!) place in Gastown. We had the eggplant shakshuka, scrambled eggs and the Croque Monsieur. Everything tasted great and the pineapple marshmallow jam that came with the sourdough bread was amazing! One nice perk is that their website shows the wait times and you can try to time your visit. Welcome change from other popular brunch places in the area where we had to wait almost an hour to get a table.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
Dropped by on a Monday afternoon with two friends. Safe to say there was not a crowd. We stayed on the patio for about 3 hours believe it or not. Staff was friendly and attentive. I thought the food was great. It is EXACTLY what you would expect in quality and proportion when going out for brunch. It seems like they really perfected everything on the dish, but there was nothing that stood out. Our order: Baked Eggs, Eggs Benny with Mediterranean Turkey Sausage and the Banana Stuffed Brioche French Toast.
google avatar

Avneet P.

Yelp
Went for brunch on a Saturday morning! No line around 10am which was nice and the staff was incredible! We sat by a window which they opened up so we got some fresh air on a nice day which was unexpected but wonderful! The food: sooooo good! The eggs Benny was amazing, except the biscuit was too either dry or stale. It fell apart when I cut into which wasn't great and the texture wasn't my favourite, but overall amazing! So much bacon!!! My eggs Benny came with 5 or 6 pieces of perfectly cooked bacon which was my dream come true! The brioche French toast was also amazing! My friend and I split it and we managed to scarf down our own meals and eat the French toast without a problem haha I'm not a fan of bananas at all, but this French toast was next level! The whipped cream had some great flavour so I'm sure they made it in house, not out of a tub! Overall the menu is limited so the picky eater in the family may not love the options, but if you are willing to try the food, it's definitely worth it!!
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
Tasty food. Perfectly prepared. Kind servers. Good people watching. Outdoor dining. Good location. Bravo!

Yelp
One of the best breakfasts I've ever had! I was most impressed with this restaurant. The eggs Benedict were fabulous and the decor quite unique and pretty. Can't wait to eat here again!

Yelp
Fantastic little spot! Highly recommend this brunch place if you're in the area and need to hide away from the major touristy areas of Gastown for a bit.
