This is a gem, great food beautiful views and even better service. We had delicious pizza and calzones, set up for pick up but in the moment of picking up and seeing the views and everything around I had to come back with my family for dessert. Definitely recommended.

My wife and I were walking around McCaysville (we were on a two hour layover between Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad to and from trips) when we spied this place. It looked interesting. The food looked good, but we had pizza the day before and wanted something totally different. However, they had a large selection of Ice cream and I did decide to get an ice cream cone before we left. I choose a small cone of the Coconut Chocolate Almond variety. (It was like a vanilla flavor with small chips of chocolate and almond.) I have to say it was one of, maybe the best ice creams I have ever had. My wife who, normally doesn’t like any milk products, liked it.

Google
Ordered two pies, one of which was gluten free for my wife. She considered the gluten free crust superior to what she gets at a well known regional artisan pizzeria chain. I was less impressed. My regular crust pizza was topped with sausage and pepperoni. The pizza was good and superior to that served by national chains, but nothing special.

I don't see any management presence at this restaurant. A group of very young staff members were chatting inappropriately and fooling around, and the girl making pizza, who was wearing a hat, really shouldn't be interacting with customers. I shared with her our unpleasant experience at the restaurant next door, where we ended up leaving after raw chicken, and she just laughed, saying, what do you expect? It's Burra Burra, our GM runs it, we completely understand what you're going through, and she recommended that I look at the reviews others have posted as everyone complains they just can’t get it together. Honestly, what will it take to receive decent service in this mall? Because it certainly won't come from either of these restaurants. After waiting for 55 minutes, we finally received a pizza, and it wasn't even correct, but we were done with it and decided to box it up to take home. And just as she mentioned, I am now reading these reviews for both of these restaurants. It's very disappointing.

Google
Such a nice inviting environment! We got the Spaghetti and Meatballs to split which came with garlic knots and a Red Sangria to drink! The spaghetti was a special but man it was DELISH! Huge portion and so yummy! The meatballs were so flavorful and they brought it to our table outside. The Red Sangria was made with strawberry puree and it was so good and fresh. We will always visit when in the area!

Google
Found the Twisted Tomato 4 years ago when our son got married in Blue Ridge. Fast forward 4 years, we drove 7 hours to visit our son and our first stop was the Twisted Tomato. Again got the Bigfoot supreme pizza. It tasted as good this time as it did the first. Highly recommend this restaurant. Along with the AWESOME pizza the view is gorgeous!!!

Chasity F.

Google
Very pleased with this place. The food was amazing we got a half Bigfoot supreme and twisted pepperoni pizza and it was so good. I also bought a tumbler from them and it was the last one and the lady was kind enough to wash it for me so I could put drink in it. Will definitely come back.

Google
Delicious pizza, fabulous and attentive service, and so fun out on the patio by the river. We will be back soon!

Troy G.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza on the river! Great vibes on the huge deck. And with shopping and ice cream in the mall, it's a great spot. Make sure you don't miss BAR 21 across the river too, a great local gem!

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch on a layover from the train ride. The pizza's were delicious! We got the buffalo chicken and the supreme. Both pizza were cooked so good. The buffalo was not spicy or hot. I wished there was a little more kick to it. The staff were friendly and the food came out quickly. Overall it was a nice experience. It is right on the river so when it's not cold out the view is beautiful.

Tony S.

Yelp
The pizza was just ok. The staff were friendly and nice. The atmosphere was decent and what you would expect from a pizza establishment.

Yelp
Today! The food was terrific! HH loved the well appointed salad bar. I had the Chicken Calzone! It can out to us HOT and yummy!!! Didn't think I could finish it all... but I did YUM!!! The team worked very fast and right behind us was the train people (get there at 11:30 to beat the Train stop rush! We normally go down for Borra Borra however the were in remodel mode... THIS place was a great back up for sure! HH had & enjoyed the draft Sam Adams, while I had the Bull Rock Cider draft. The Bill Rock gave me NO aftertaste (unlike many apple ciders). It was a bit too breezy to sit out on the we love so it was inside seating today. All & all we had wonderful time, great food and my daddy used to say AFTER a good meal..."It ruined my appetite " ;) I am stuffed!

Yelp
Ordered takeout while in the area on vacation. This place did not disappoint! Cheese breadsticks were gooey and had plenty of cheese. Pizza was hot and so good! Thin, wood fired crust, fresh toppings with plenty of choices for everyone. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Had a great lunch at Twisted Tomato recently with a friend who had business in the area. Restaurant was super clean and inviting, with both indoor & outdoor seating, as well as a bar. It's in a little shopping center with a few shops too. We chose a pizza with ricotta and pepperoni. It was really good, especially the crust! We sat outside overlooking the river on a beautiful day, so that made it extra nice. I was surprised at the restaurant options in the downtown area. It's a bustling little area, and well worth a visit.

Yelp
I appreciated the accessibility, and order at the counter style of this restaurant. This way you were not waiting on service. That being said, the reason I give it 3/5 stars is even with us ordering ourselves and getting a number to take back to our table, somehow half our food ended up at someone else's table first... so we had to go up to the counter and show our receipts, to which they promptly made the rest of our food. They said they were unable to refund? which I found odd, but nonetheless we were happy with receiving our food, even late. The pizza and salads were delicious! They were well cooked, great variety of topping options, and quick!

Yelp
We love stopping in Twisted Tomato in McCaysville! The pizza and salad bar are fresh and delicious. The beer is cold and views are beautiful.

Yelp
It's amazing what skipping out on an event gives you time to do. In my case, I got to make progress on some of my reading, not to mention finding Twisted Tomato for our meal. Now what sold me about this place was the view. That and who can resist coal-fired pizza? Yums in the tums! Now essentially how this place works is you order at the counter, they give you a number, and when the food is ready, servers will go and find you and the number. Two of us shared a margarita pizza, the other three of us went a little crazy with a margarita pizza, a meatball pizza, and garlic bread. Needless to say, we had plenty of leftovers. Minus one of us, we were all happy with the pizza. The one person who wasn't a fan said it was the tomato sauce she was not a fan of, so take that as you will. We ate, drank beer and cider, and enjoyed our meal with a view. Would recommend if in the area. I think my only regret with them is I didn't order dessert. It's a shame, too, as they had a lovely display case of desserts.

Yelp
Pizza was fair; too much cheese for me as the center portion was very floppy. Out of the two craft beers I tried to order. Decent setting.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance of the river has always been good. It is a place that we visit a few times a year.

Yelp
The staff is so nice !! The food was typical.. greasy but ok. Outside seating was great.

Yelp
This cumulative of dining spaces, tasty food, and quaint old town make for such a great place to stop for a delicious bite when visiting McCaysville and Copperhill area. They share an expansive outdoor seating area and deck with Burra Burra which gives you the best of both worlds. Our party had a combination of pizza type items and salad bar. Everything was delightful to eat but our one complaint was the quality of the produce and the attention to detail regarding it. There was a whole heart of lettuce mixed in with the greens on the salad bar and plenty of rotten greens mixed in. Seems they need to update their practices for managing their produce rotation (maybe some FIFO). Service is limited to a register, running food, bar, and busing. You get a number upon placing your order at the register and the select your table where you wish to dine. Once your food is ready, they will run it out to your table. We didn't have any issues at all with service and found it to be very timely. There did seem to be a delay in the clearing of tables and many remained dirty for quite some time after diners had left. We will definitely be back to enjoy their offerings and outdoor dining space once it warms back up. We really enjoy visiting them after hiking with the dogs and the outdoor dining deck makes for the perfect spot for us to all relax and refuel.

Yelp
Has a great outdoor seating area above the river but also offers indoor seating as well. Seems to be an outdoor seating problem between the Twisted Tomato and the restaurant next door called Burra Burra. We were told to not cross a line on the seating deck which was kind of weird to me. The pizza and salad were great but the food is over priced. All pizzas are the same size which is a large. A pizza, salad and drink for two was $54. Have to take into consideration it is a tourist area I guess. The food was great and the music on the deck was also great. $54 is to much to me

Yelp
Wishing would of taken the picture before I cut it up but this is a meatlovers calzone and it is WAY better than I could've ever expected. Stuffed full and big enough to take up an entire medium pizza box! This thing could feed 2-4 people and I believe it was only 16$!!! And the peperoni pizza I got my kiddos was phenomenal as well! I will definitely be ordering more in the future and highly recommend giving them a try! It's worth the price for sure! They had my order ready very quickly so I'd imagine service dining in would be just as fast. You won't be disappointed if you get dinner at twisted tomato!

Tracey D.

Yelp
My husband and I came with two other couples to eat. We ordered a pizza and salad bar. The two other couples got their food and finished, but ours never arrived. We went to the counter to check on it and they could not find our order, even after showing them our receipt. I told them we had eaten the salad bar item, but just wanted a refund for the $21 pizza as our party didn't want to wait a longer. They were very rude about giving a refund, and only did so grudgingly. After the refund, we saw that they refunded us for the salad bar, which was $15, instead of the pizza. NEVER APOLOGIZED for anything. Massively disappointing!

Yelp
Pizza was a smash hit, in the mood for pizza they delivered fast and friendly service and a casual setting made this place a hot spot for me...
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Food & service wonderful. We had DoorDash delivery who said we chose the best pizza parlor in town. Would highly recommend

Yelp
We stopped here during our layover on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. We were blown away by this pizza! It was delicious and everyone was very friendly. The location was beautiful right on the river! If we're ever in this area again we'll be stopping by!

Janessa W.

Yelp
We love the twisted tomato! Any time we visit blue ridge we always drive to the one in Mccaysville because we like the small town and you can sit by the river while you enjoy your pizza. This visit we had the chicken Bianca pizza. 10/10 would recommend. Their crust is perfection. I am not a pizza lover but twisted tomato has won me over.

Sharon D.

Yelp
Service was terrible today. We waited forever for our pizza while everyone around us were getting there's. Come to find out they messed up the first pizza and burnt the second one finally we got ours no apologies.

Sheri T.

Yelp
Pizza is ok but at $20 a pizza I expected way better! 2 pizzas and cheesy breadsticks cost $60!

Christie R.

Yelp
This was our first time at this restaurant and everything about it was absolutely amazing especially our waitress Abby! she was so friendly, and right on top of everything. the food was probably the best we have had in a long time since moving from NY. I highly recommend bringing your family and enjoy the food, atmospher, and definitely the waitstaff!
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Ordered a calzone meat lovers! Had huge amount of ricotta cheese almost no meat. Could not find any in it! Ended up tossing it in trash. Beautiful area just lousy food!
google avatar

Callie M.

Yelp
This was a great recovery from our dinner in the area the night before. Twisted Tomato is delicious! Seating is plentiful and the service is attentive and full of smiles! We had the Rusted Balsamic and it was perfect! We also ordered the Shredded Mozzarella Breadsticks with marinara (which were my favorite). It was a casual and fun experience. I didn't take any pictures, but our family had the best time.

Yelp
It took me a week to write this review but I told them I was so impressed that I would make the time!!.... I worked in the restaurant industry for nearly 15 years, and the hustle and sense of urgency I saw from the ladies that night is worth bragging about!.... So my husband and a friend of ours decided to meet up and have a couple drinks and a snack or whatever so we're just hanging out on the deck. That view itself is worth a review, but I came here to brag on Sabrina and the girl crew!!! I needed to go to the restroom and I was walking by the pizza oven and I just see all these kick ass women getting it done! Without hesitation one of them notices me (clearly I'm lost) and told me exactly where the restroom was. She continued to sling pizzas with a smile on her face, I mean they were just working together effectively and as a team. Drinks were cold and garlic knots were delicious! Congrats Sabrina on the promotion, you clearly deserved it!! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
This was a real treat during our stopover riding the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. I like that there was some shaded outdoor seating and some out in the sun, as well as indoor. Lots of variety. The pizzas are big, they really don't skimp on toppings, and the crust is perfection. Worth every dime. The Rusted Balsalmic was my favorite but the three cheese was sooooo so so good and decadent. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed that we could walk up and order and then go sit. Just the whole experience was an awesome vibe. The whole family really enjoyed it and we would 100% go back there if we were in the area again!
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
We stopped at the Twisted Tomato on our 2 hour layover on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. This is a pay at the counter and sit yourself style restaurant, and then they bring your food to you. We got the Moonshine BBQ pizza and it was delicious. We had enough to take half home. We sat outside on their patio, which overlooks the river. We didn't have our dog, but their patio was dog friendly as we saw other people with a dog!
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Best pizza I've ever had. No, this isn't a knee jerk reaction. Came here with my wife and some neighbors during a cabin trip weekend. Saw the awesome reviews, but to be honest, I was still skeptical. We ordered a couple of the favorites from the menu. Absolutely delicious. The crust was perfect, the toppings, everything. We are from Atlanta and haven't been able to find pizza like this. I 100% recommend trying this spot if you're in the area. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. We liked it so much, we actually ate here twice during our 2 night trip.
google avatar

Ash C.

Yelp
This is by far the best pizza ever. Always consistent and always delicious. Salad bar is also amazing. We eat here every time we are in town.
google avatar

Hannah T.

Yelp
Great pizza and wings! Service is superb! Spacious for everyone! Sit outside and enjoy.
google avatar

Pat M.

Yelp
Best pizza ever and that's because Chef Zack is passionate about making a pizza matching the customer's preference. We asked For extra crispy and it was perfect! I think Zack would have popped it back in the oven for longer if we had asked but there was no need to test that theory. We have returned several times and the pizza is consistently PERFECT.
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
New location in BR is cute but the pizza needs work. The dough is soggy .. people next to us ordered the exact same thing and theirs was soggy too. Reminded me of Digiorno :( Cucinellas is better.. they have that more authentic, crispy pizza.

Elaine D.

Yelp
This is for Blue Ridge GA. Twisted Tomato. We love eating there and food is awesome, however run poorly!! They say they are open Thursday to Sunday yet tonight no one answered their phone so my husband had to drive there only to find it closed. The open table doesn't even work properly. If they want to be successful they need to answer their phone and be open when they say they are or have a message on their phone. The 3 stars is for the above reasons.
google avatar

Luis C.

Yelp
Fantastic location, friendly staff, and amazing pizza! Came here while exploring northern Georgia and was so happy I decided to try the place. The location is superb as well, right on the river, and great views of the town. If you ever find yourself in this area, be sure to stop by.

Matt B.

Yelp
We ordered pizzas and draft beer. Our pizza was amazing! Crispy undercarriage with no flop. Service was spectacular and we didn't wait long for our pizza. They also have a really good draft beer menu. If all else fails get a salad from the salad bar. I suggest getting a table outside with a view of the river. Location is really cool in regards to shopping or just walking around town. We love visiting Copperhill TN and the twisted tomato on the Ga side is always a lunch destination.
google avatar

April S.

Yelp
This is a cool little pizza place. We came here while we were in town for a family vacation. It's attached to a mall type area. You can walk through and there are bars and stores and ice cream places. We ordered the chicken pesto pizza and a half cheese half meat lovers. There was a ton of meat on the meat lovers side. They have a salad bar that was pretty good, just not a big amount of options. I would go back if I am in the area. Very cute area. Very small town feeling

Bob C.

Yelp
Beautiful new restaurant but couldn't believe how unappealing the food. Fried calamari like eating popcorn. Italian sandwich unappealing. I hope they improve. I'll wait awhile before I go back
google avatar

Jenna W.

Yelp
Thoroughly impressed! Was attracted by the atmosphere & stayed for the food! Beautiful location by the river w the friendliest people. The owner of the whole building was so welcoming and personable. If you like thin crust pizza this is definitely a great spot. Not to mention dog friendly so you can bring your best friend along.
google avatar

April W.

Yelp
The pizza is really good but the service is pretty bad. Was in town for a weekend getaway and came here to get our grub on. The girl who spoke with us was soooooo rude. She had attitude galore. When we approached her to order she didn't even offer a greeting and just said it would be 30 minutes with a attitude on her face. She was petite with dark hair. We had no problem waiting and I figured I could get a cocktail while we waited. Now some of you may find this useful- Blue Ridge is a dry county!! Blow my mind!! I didn't think there was a place like this in America. No liquor is served anywhere. Only beer and wine. I was very let down by this. But anyway. Pizza was cooked perfect. Really tasty and wonderful cook. Worth the wait. We sat outside and watched the water. Just really a shame how rude that girl was. She was awful, awful, awful. Side note- if you are a mask advocate, you will be SORELY out of place here.

Jonathan R.

Yelp
First let's start with the PROs. Food was fresh, hot and incredible. Ambiance was really cool looking over the river. CONs. Apparently there are no servers. No signs to indicate that. You go order, fix your own drink so your own refills ECT... All that I don't mind doing at all...if I know about it.
google avatar

Amiee S.

Yelp
Great pizza. We stopped by for dinner and the pizza was great! They serve one size so bring a big appetite! We got the pizza with everything on it and it did not disappoint and the staff were great too!
google avatar

Thomas B.

Yelp
Great pizza on the river! No better view and location! Pizza was excellent, cooked in the wood fired oven. Good service here too. I really loved the whole experience. Cold beer, good pizza on the river! Can't be beat!
google avatar

Tammy O.

Yelp
Tasty fresh ingredient pizza that's hot out the oven! I loved the old school salad bar the freshest I've seen post Covid and everything was ice cold and that ranch!!!! Quaint spot that's quick, not expensive, and tasty if in the area!
google avatar

Lois D.

Yelp
We thought Twisted Tomato would be a great lunch-especially a wood fire pizza. This place was less than crowded! It took over an hour to get a wood fire pizza that looked too done on top and doughy in the middle. The salad bar was dirty-heck, the whole place was dirty....and we dined with flies. Wood fire pizzas take minutes to cook!!! They bubble up, and have a nice char, crispy bite. This is the worst pizza I ever ate! Even lean cuisine makes a better pizza! Only eat here if you are starving and nothing else is open! Be sure to bring your fly swatter!!

Robert F.

Yelp
A new pizzeria in Blue Ridge. Service was very good. But there is only one size pizza, 12 ". Waitress said, "We are just starting and may have larger ones later." But isn't this place like the Twisted Tomato in McCaysville, where they already know how to make larger sizes?? Also, the atmosphere is too formal for a pizzeria, with waitresses wearing white shirts and ties!

Andrew W.

Yelp
Pizza was great and the salad bar complements the menu well. The location is right in the center of McCaysville on the water by the truss bridge and really couldn't be better. There wasn't a lot of direction as far as seating or how to order but once we figured out to just go to the counter order before seating ourselves they were very welcoming and helped with the menu. 4.5 really.

Lewie C.

Yelp
Awesome pizza, Pepe LePew was delish. Food delivered quickly. Patio seating was great with a shared option. Cold local beer. Order at the counter was simple and easy. Staff was helpful and informative. Salad bar was very solid. Location and decor were worthwhile! Great place for lunch or supper'
google avatar

Courtney H.

Yelp
We enjoyed this pizza place over the weekend. We shared the BBQ chicken pizza and I got a salad from the salad bar. Both were delicious and quick, though we did beat the crowd who get off the train from Blue Ridge each day.
