Two Beards Deli

I have been living in the US for 4 years and I could never find a delicious GF place for cold weather comfort food. This is my new favorite spot for a delicious sandwich/soup combo ❤️

The food is delicious but if you order late and add additions you’re paying extra for don’t expect them to be met. I’m not real picky but if I’m already paying $21 per sub I would expect there to be a sufficient amount of cabbage added to both orders that I paid for and any (instead of none) spinach that I paid for. You could barely see the cabbage and zero spinach

Normally I love coming here. This last experience was disappointing. I got the Jim Henson and the sandwich was missing both the coleslaw and the Russian dressing. It was just a pastrami grilled cheese. I got the order to-go and didn’t realize the error until I was home. This was an online order placed ahead of time and picked up at 5pm when it wasn’t busy at all, so I’m not sure what happened. These are really expensive sandwiches which don’t feel worth it when half the standard ingredients are missing.

The sandwiches here are delicious. I had the King Leonidas for dinner, and it was great. The deli meats and cheese paired well with the other ingredients, and it was toasted to perfection. This is definitely an excellent option if you’re in the mood for a sandwich. The staff was friendly and they had an interesting selection of drink options. I’d definitely consider eating here again.

The food has great flavor, but we were hoping for larger portions. There were a Lot of things to choose from! You can definitely accommodate every type of eater.

I don’t get the hype… ok food, insane prices for what you get. This was $30… like what?… plus a 20+min wait while there was only 3 other customers in there. But they did have 3 employees trying to hang t-shirts which I’m assuming was very important.

2025 Pros: new point system tied to phone# Cons: sandwiches have increased $4.50 (about $17/ea) and quality/quantity has decreased We visited and ordered 3 sandwiches. Three sandwiches (no sides or drinks) will set you back $55. Even taking into consideration rising costs, this is a bit too much for me. Also, it was really disappointing bc it seems as though the amount of meat/filling has notably decreased. It’s such a cool business and I don’t like to report negatives -but it was already a bit pricey so we didn’t visit often -now, sadly, we probably won’t return. If you look at my old vs new pics, you can see the difference in the sizes of the sandwiches as well as the prices these past 6 months. 2024: Pros: great sandwiches Cons: a kind spot for the houseless to drink beverages and use the bathroom -which, unfortunately, ends up in them also asking for money (repeated x2) making the experience a little awkward. This said, erratic behavior on top of being asked multiple times for money (once outside and once inside) or to buy sandwiches (x1 same folks came inside and sat next to us) made the experience a little uncomfortable. I truly hate to sound like a Karen. And I hope this doesn’t come off as such. In my experience, saying no or yes results in multiple interactions and I just wanted to eat my sandwich without having repeated further interruptions that provoke my own anxieties of either guilt from saying no or feeling pressured to purchase more and more donated items if saying yes. Original review: OMGosh. O. My. GOSH! One of the top 5 sandwich places of my LIFE! I got the Randy Savage cold sammich; my hubs got the Klingon hot sammich. We were both GROANING. So many choices, it was hard to decide -but I don’t think you can make a bad choice here. We will definitely be back soon to try more!!! Staff were hella friendly and the deli had a fun rockstar vibe.

I recommend! They have a ton of vegan and vegetarian, as well as meat options. I had the Mr T (pictured, though I didn’t take a great photo now that I’m looking at it). I subbed mustard for the veganaise and added vegan cheese. It was very good. I also tried the spicy Asian vegetable soup and the flavor was great but it was too spicy for me! Prices were reasonable, I would definitely go back next time I’m in the area. My only complaint is there were no coat hooks in the bathrooms!

Placed a phone order for an office lunch. Friendly fast service. Even had to call back 5 minutes later with a correction and they adjusted no problem. Super impressed with all of the sandwich options! With vegans and vegetarians to accommodate, we had great plant based protein to choose from. Was all so tasty! Picking up the food, all the staff seemed in great spirits like they truly enjoy working there. Not from GR, I'll definitely be dining here any time I return!

Wow! This is the "go-to" in Grand Rapids for a sandwich. This was the worst sandwich I've ever had. The store was empty. Employees were chillin... This is the sandwich I got on a slow night. I had one piece of shriveled lettuce, microwaved bacon,, ingredients not distrubuted across the sandwich. It screams lazy.

Food was amazing! Ordered two items: 1) Sandwich and 2) Salad. Small versions were plenty to eat. Fresh and delicious, OMG! The only minor complaint was that while the service was extremely friendly, it took quite a while to get the food out. Luckily we were not in a hurry, but when I say quite a while, I mean a long time. Nevertheless, worth the wait. They were a little busy, so we'll give them some grace. Definitely want to return soon!

Found Two Beards Saturday. Fantastic. My wife is gluten freee. makes it a nightmare going out for dinner. TB has EVERY sandwich can be made Gluten free. Food was fantastic. Ambiance was nice. very deli feel. price was not cheap but acceptable. ONLY thing I could say is parking sucks. but its Downtown GR. PARKING SUCKS. but thats not TB fault. Just something to be factored in.

Delicious, The Anchor and Poseidon are great!! Service was quick and got sandwiches within 10 minutes. 10/10 reccomend

Highly recommended. My work used the catering service for a meeting. Before hand they were extremely helpful getting my order placed, the delivery was on time and by a friendly employee, the food was AMAZING. I still can't believe all the meat on the sandwiches. Above expectations. And the cost was affordable. We will definitely be ordering from them again. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 Dietary restrictions We have one employee that is gluten and dairy free and they were very accommodating. They also provided a vegetarian, all vegetable sandwich, and it was LOADED with veggies and was so good.

We work right around the corner and get this often. Love the Mario. The names of the sandwiches are so fun and the quality of meats are stellar. This is Forsure the best deli in town.

I enjoyed my sandwich, was a little burned but that is OK. My only complaint is the prices are a bit high, but what isn't these days?

The subs are always delicious. You can order online and just pickup and go or dine in. The old Dutch is my favorite.

We ordered delivery after my daughter's surgery and, let me tell you, this place not only did not disappoint two hungry, cranky vegetarians but we crave it months later!!! Fast service and quick delivery. This place is ALWAYS packed - and for good reason! The menu is great and everything was so fresh! The names of their menu items are a kick and everything is organized like someone has OCD! They even have vegetarian AND vegan sandwiches so us picky people can order without a bunch of substitutions. We got the Dale Earnhardt that was basically a vegan Ruben. Delish!!! The Bearded Lady salad hit the spot and the Bob Ross was amazing!! I truly wish we had one here in Omaha. Next time you're hungry and in Grand Rapids, MI stop by. You wont be disappointed!

I really can't say enough good things about Two Beards. There is not a single person in the world who can't come here and have a life changing sandwich. Vegetarian/Vegan? These guys bend tofu to their will and create insane flavors. Gluten Free? They got wraps for ya. Don't like sandwiches? Two Beards will surely prove you wrong. It's honestly nicer to have some sort of allergy/food restriction when you come here, because if you don't, you're greeted by an onslaught of over 100 different sandwiches, each of which is just BEGGING to be enjoyed. The highest praise I can offer Two Beards is the following anecdote: I have been here over 30 times and have gotten a different sandwich pretty much each time, and every sandwich has been straight up delicious.

Great spot for any sandwich lover. Options for all meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. I came during the lunch rush on a Tuesday, but things move fast in here and service was great! I went with the #80 Levar Burton. I'm not vegan, but I wanted to try something on the lighter side. Sandwich was huge and delicious. Would definitely come back next time I'm in town and keep trying new stuff each time as I'm sure anything on their menu wouldn't disappoint!

Update: I love the vibe in this restaurant. The staff is great. And I got the Fred Sanford sandwich (blackened chicken with avocado and bacon and all kinds of other goodness) and I was MUCH happier than I was with the Freddie Mercury. This place is excellent - I just picked the wrong sandwich on my first visit. Get there early, because there was a pretty hefty line by the time we left this visit (no line at 11:30am; hefty line by 11:50am on a weekday).

Cute area of downtown and walkable- deli is a hot spot for the lunch crowd. We tried a variety of paninis, kettle Chips and beverages. There's a HUGE list of sandwich choices, so you'll find something to You're liking. There's a Pepsi soda fountain but an open cooler filled with other beverages, Coke products, carbonated waters, etc. The wait was average as was the ambience but the sandwiches were delicious. A good stop for those who like hot or cold sandwiches.

Quick, homemade sandwich shop. The people there are nice and very helpful. The atmosphere fit the name for the most part. Would highly recommend. The only knock if I may say is my family (wife and two daughters) had food but it sounded like metal playing in the background. Not necessarily the most family friendly thing haha. But that's my personal preference not to be held against them.

The sandwiches are pretty good, but the service is so very bad. If there is a line that is more than zero people in front of you, be prepared to wait at least a half hour. If you're calling in an order, place the order for like a half hour (min) before you need it. It almost seems like they just grab random people off the street to do restaurant things for the day. The staff are friendly, the sandwiches are pretty good, prices are okay. The service is the pits. Time and time again I try, because everybody has off days, but this place is consistently just a big time suck.

I've only been here twice, while visiting my sister from out of town, but both times were amazing. I am pretty picky when it comes to sandwiches but these guys know how to do it right. There is so much flavor in every bite and the menu offers so much variety. You can tell they only use high quality ingredients. You might wait a bit for your food, but they are always busy, and it's definitely worth the wait.

Best sandwich in GR. Always good for a quick grab and go! Service is nice and there are many options on their huge menu. If you can't find something you like you simply don't like food

The sandwiches at this place are insane, so good. As a vegan they have 15-20 options and more if you are not but they also have salads and wraps. By far the best deli in Grand Rapids. Amazing!

I am so happy I stopped in for a sandwich before leaving town at the end of our vacation. I had the VEGAN(!) Woody Harrelson. It was amazing!!! I live 3 hours away and am thinking if excuses to go back to have the sandwich again.

I love waiting 10 minutes in line and 20 minutes at a table for the pleasure of eating a mayonnaise sandwich. So goopy and gooey and gross. I'm incredibly tired of how many restaurants these days give you such precious little meat that the bite of the sandwich is all glop. It's dishonest and it's disgusting.

Order ahead! Especially around lunchtime. Delicious sammie's. Your clothes will smell but that's okay.

What a menu! It was hard to make a choice but I went with the Steven Spielberg- Chicken, feta spread, red onion, spinach, cherry apple sage mustard, on wheat. The sandwich is grilled to perfection. I could eat it everyday. The service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant was clean! Can't wait to go back.

Had the best sandwich of my life at this place - the Randy Savage. Literally had dreams about it! Asked for the gluten free bread and they asked me if I had an allergy so ensure it would not get contaminated. Great customer service and fast. Cool vibe with the posters on the walls. Plenty of seating and beverages in coolers so you can pick your own. Lots of local beverage options!

We love restaurants with strong themes, and Two Beards not only has a memorable theme, but excellent food to back it up! Their menu is vast, and every sandwich is easy to remember because they're named after famous bearded men (from both fiction and nonfiction). For example, we thoroughly enjoyed both the Evil Spock and the King Leonidas. Both sandwiches were delicious, and I'm excited to explore the other options as well. Two Beards Deli, we'll definitely be coming back for more!

If you're looking for a great and quick vegan meal in GR, this is a must-visit spot. The staff was super nice, they have a ton of creative vegan sandwich options, and man oh man were they DELICIOUS! My 1 year old even loved the marinated tofu when I fed him some bites. Will definitely be back when we visit MI!

For the record a sandwich is not my go to for a meal. I actually sometimes feel shortchanged at the suggestion. This place has changed my mind! How so you ask? With and extensive vegan sandwich menu and names of sandwiches that get you excited for the adventure you are about to embark on. I had the sandwich formerly known as Prince. The olive tapenade with the tofu and veggies was definitely a concert in my mouth! I am so glad I didn't turn away from this place because it was a deli. That was my first inclination. I would have missed out on a great experience. This is a place I will definitely visit again.

First sandwich I got after discovering this place was the Hagrid... have to say I had to pick my junk off the floor after my first 2 bites. VERY GOOD subs and First Experience!

The food was good and the atmosphere was youthful and corky. I enjoyed myself. It was a Saturday night and we were struggling to find a place that didn't have a 45 minute wait. Two Beards was busy but the service was prompt.

Vegan Monkfruit bbq sandwich was a-maz-ing! High recommend! Service was fast, friendly, and answered many questions! Loved the gnomes in the restaurant.

Friendly staff. Courteous and professional. Food was amazing and portion sizes were excellent. So delicious. Space is a tad small and so it can get noisy, just prepare for that. Additionally, especially at lunch, this place is very popular, so be prepared for a wait or order ahead of time. Highly recommend giving them a try.

all the vegan options make this a great spot to try. sandwiches aren't usually my go to dining out food so it took me a while to knock this one off my list of places to try. my mom and i both got a sandwich and split a salad. we ordered a "half" sandwich each but i'm not sure why it's called that because you get a full sandwich (and it's only $1 less). maybe they put less... contents in the middle? not sure but i'm not complaining! the menu is so big i thought i was going to have a tough time choosing but made my decision pretty quickly. a lot of the sandwiches are super similar with just a one or two ingredient difference. i got the dale earnhardt with blackened tofu, sauerkraut, shredded pickles and i believe a mayo sauce. it was good but a little too tart. i like tart but this was missing the balance that's needed. also i wouldn't call the tofu "blackened" but it was seasoned well. my mom ordered the vandyke which was a turkey and pastrami sandwich with carmelized onions, cheese, and roasted red pepper mayo which she enjoyed. we split the joaquin phoenix salad and the dressing was sooooo good. overall the food was pretty good. best sandwich i've ever had? no. but good.

I'm all in. Had the Old Dutch and substituted coleslaw for the red peppers and it was phenomenal. Prices aren't too bad, $12.50 for a full sandwich. Flavors are bursting and portion size is worth it. Definitely will be back. Service was fast and friendly. They can get a little backed up during lunch so just be prepared but it moves pretty quick.

I was in town for a conference and went here on a recommendation. It was so good that we went back the next day for lunch again with a good number of our conference mates. The selection of sandwiches here would allow you to eat here every day for a week and not feel like you were repeating. This was top notch!

My go to lunch spot in downtown GR when I'm in town. Never disappoints! Home made soups and outstanding sandwich creations.

I can't express how amazing this place is!! Super close to 131 so it's easy to hop off the highway, eat an awesome sandwich, and continue on your trip. My husband has celiac so he gets his on gluten free bread. I have tried many sandwiches and you can't go wrong with any of them but hands down the BEST is the Yeti. The homemade chicken salad on it is the best I've had and add to it, other deliciousness, put it all together and grilled is the best sandwich you could ask for!! Don't forget to grab a brown butter rice Krispy treat. The smell alone when you own the package says it all. I buy 5 at time to last me until our next trip there.

These sandwiches were fantastic! So easy to order online and pick up, but there is an indoor space if you want to eat there. There was so much flavor in the blackened chicken and then the toppings complimented it so well. I loved the super simple order and pick up, not to mention the sandwiches were even done early. Loved this place and definitely will be back for another sammi.
