Not sure what happened but our food was terrible. Manager blamed it on delivery. We ordered a large Caesar salad - it was a bunch of shredded lettuce (not romaine) with a bunch of small croutons and almost no dressing. Upon request the manager brought dressing. And we ordered a half rack of ribs that were SO OVERCOOKED that they were inedible. I’ve included photos. I asked the manager if this was normal, he said no and said he would get a new one. He came back shortly and said they all looked like that and offered a different meal. We got the brisket which was tender and quite ok. So on the positive side the manager tried to address the situation. I would suggest if you eat here asked the waiter what is ok that day.

This is a National Park restaurant, not a privately owned one. We were told the wait was 20 mins, it was almost an hour. My guess is they were understaffed as there were empty tables and a waiting list. The trout was dry and did not match the menu description. The asparagus was the best thing on my plate. Our mistake for staying and eating there. There is a lovely view of the mountains.

Wow! We were so impressed by the trout entree. It's amazing! They have amazing chef here! In fact, they probably serve the best meal in the entire Glacier National Park - and it's affordable. This is actually THE ONLY place I recommend to tourists! There is usually a wait, but you can shop for souvenir and ask for wifi password here. Their service is very good too. Very friendly service! As soon as we found here on our day 2 in the Glacier, we came again and again. It's worth the drive, very much! Try the pull pork burger too! It's really good!

We read a lot of details about poor service and long wait times, but we experienced none of that and had overall really good food. And the view from the dining room rivals almost every other restaurant in the world.

Had a great meal with our large group after a long day of hiking! We went at about 4:50pm and were able to be seated at 5pm - there was about 20ish people in front of us. I ordered the giant baked potato and loved it! The huckleberry pork is the way to go. We also had cod bites and they were delicious! Sandra was our server and was so good - great service! Loved the huckleberry ice cream and huckleberry cheesecake! Also - SOOOO cheap for being this remote.

Quick Summary I really enjoyed this spot and thought it was better than the Ptarmigan Dining Room at the Many Glacier Hotel. Food was good. Service was excellent and great ambiance and views of the surrounding mountains around St. Mary Lake Food- 4 stars I did like the food better here compared to the Many Glacier Hotel Trout- the fish was pretty good; slightly salty. It was definitely a more healthy meal, as the broccoli, cauliflower and rice seemed to lack any butter or oil. The cornbread dessert was pretty good Huckleberry ice cream- had to try something huckleberry while I was here. This was really good. Very rich and enjoyed the huckleberry flavor Service- 5 stars Server and host were excellent. They were attentative and always delivered. Would try to come in a bit earlier or later, because there can be a wait. Bottom Line Pretty good food for national park standards. Excellent views, service and ambiance. Probably my favorite restaurant while in Glacier National Park

Just what we needed during our trip to west glacier. Less vegetarian options but good enough. Logan pass visitor center doesn’t have food and this restaurant is only 20 minutes away from it. Not bad at all. The views are great! Huckleberry lemonade is a must try.

Two Dogs Flats in St Mary’s has the view! Floor to ceiling windows viewing Glacier National Park’s clear blue skies and surrounding mountains over-looking St. Mary Lake. Great food, with burgers, hummus and yummy salads. Super fresh! Great local beer selection and wines. Huckleberry ice cream & cheesecake is on the menu. Really awesome service from Auburn University graduate, Sophie. The waitstaff is SO NICE! The Hotel Office is in the lobby and has best gift store in the park. It is a quick walk down to the picnic area to dip your toes in the lake. Go early for dinner and beat the crowds! One of our dining highlights in Glacier National Park.

Yelp
I had very low expectations for food within a national park. HOLY COW. This place was exceptional. We went 3 times in 24 hours. We had the trout every time. The size of the fish you see in this picture can be purchased as a stand alone side for $7.50. SEVEN FIFTY!!! It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I also had their Mac and cheese on two occasions. The first time it had crumbles on top. The second time it had a fantastic bite of heat. The cod bites are also a must try. The cod tasted great and the breading/fry was super crispy. Last night my mom had the veggie primavera (with the topper of the trout) and she loved it. We did see people ordering the baked potato and burger which also looked good. They have excellent views with massive windows and a very large selection of wine. Yes- there is a wait, and no there aren't many seats while you wait... but it's worth it. Absolute must stop

Yelp
We stopped at this spot while hungry during a drive through Glacier National Park. Frankly, I didn't expect much, as hungry folks who did not bring their own food within them into the park are a captive audience. However, I was pleasantly surprised! We began with the BBQ hummus, which I expected to be smoky, but which actually tasted like a BBQ potato chip - an unexpected but not unwelcome surprise. The toasted pita that came with it were just right, but the accompanying salad confused me (gf ate it). For entrees, I ordered the Huckleberry Pulled Pork Sandwich. There are actual huckleberries in it, but I got more brown sugar than tart fruit in the flavor. It was not overly saucy, so although there was a robust amount of meat on the sandwich, it was still easy to eat with one hand. This is a difficult needle to thread - moist, flavorful meat in a sandwich that can be eaten like a sandwich - and Two Dog did it well. My gf ordered a cheeseburger, which was fine, but came with 1) a robust side of steak fries (which went even better with the hummus than the pita did) and 2) fruit (which was much less melon-heavy than, and therefore superior, to most other restaurants' sides of fruit). Also unexpected was the robust selection of local beers on draft! It was lunchtime, but I couldn't resist and was glad I didn't try. Both beers I had (hazy IPAs) were bright, juicy, and made for a lovely rest of our day in the park (for which I turned over the car keys).

Yelp
Yes, highly recommended but prepare for a wait, both for being seated and for your food to come. Very popular since it's very tasty and convenient if you are staying in Saint Mary or coming out of glacier national park on the east side My wife had the half rack of ribs with mashed potatoes and they were both very tasty. I had the pasta and cream sauce, which was more like a pink cream sauce mix of red and white, a.k.a. pasta, Primavera I added chicken to it, which was quite a small portion of chicken, but pretty tasty . It was supposed to be farfalle, but they brought me with penne and I didn't wanna complain since it came about eight minutes after, but the rest of my family was served All three of my kids had burgers and they were very delicious and the french fries were pretty good too. Beer selection was excellent although they had no draft options because their CO2 was down or something. Huckleberry lemonade is amazing. If you have a lot of patience, this is a great place to go

Yelp
Surprisingly good and not because it was the only other food spot around at the end of our outing from West Glacier. Half hour wait was estimated, we got in after 20. Menu options for lunch were generally in the low 10s. Good pulled pork sandwich and burger with solid sides including mac & cheese, baked beans and fries. We tacked on the cod bites and the pork belly ends for sharing. Cod bites were perfectly cooked (crisp out, juicy in). Pork belly ends were too saucy vs. savory from slow cooking for my taste. Did get their flathead cherry pie, stacked high, but served cold, the filling was a stiff jello. I'd recommend getting it heated even if it softens the crust. Also, considering it might have been made from scratch, watch out for missed pits.

Yelp
Service was horrible. We sat for 15 minutes and no one ever even took our drink order. Food orders were taken from a table that was seated after us. We were hungry and tired of waiting. We left. Needs managers that know how to manage. The young man, Soul, from Turkey was the one who at least brought us water and acknowledged our presence.

Yelp
The one choice to eat at Rising Sun, the menu is small but the food is good. The staff is phenomenal, Barb and Jose rock!!however the restaurant manager, he looks like he is not getting paid a penny. Breakfast is listed til 10, however they stop serving at9:15. The beef brisket is delicious. The restaurant does have vegan entres, the black-bean soup is delicious (warning heavy in the cumi Wifi is only available at Rising Sun main building, and restaurant, however the wifi does not reach the restaurant options outside of the park (Glacier's Edge Cafe). The restaurant has a wonderful view of Red Eagle Mountain

Yelp
Avoid if you can! We ate there 3 times, because we were staying in a cabin nearby. Every single time, the server got our orders wrong. One time, our food was cold - as if it had been sitting for 5+ minutes. One time, the wait person brought a dish that contained an ingredient that I specifically stated I was allergic to. The manager, Javin, was rude and arrogant, each of our three visits. The handout from the adjacent motel says that breakfast is served until 10:00 a.m. However, the manger made a big deal about letting us be seated at 9:35 a.m.. I have never been in a restaurant that cut service short. Javin turned people away. He said they needed time to prep for lunch. Surely 1 1/2 hours enough, but he wanted 2 hours. However, during that break time, the wait staff was busy on their cellphones, talking, giggling, etc.. They obviously had plenty of time to prep for the 11:30 a.m. lunch. Our wait staff got our orders wrong every time, then didn't follow up on simple things like "straw, please." We had to go ask a busboy, who was very mad at the manager. Our trout was overcooked one evening. Our eggs were overcooked for breakfast. I encourage you to eat elsewhere if you can.

Yelp
What a place and meal! Inside GNP and fantastic views with an entire glass wall overlooking the mountains. Staff was incredible and manager was making sure all food was perfect and came out quick. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Yelp
I was so surprised how delicious the bbq ribs were at an in Glacier Park. The meat fell off the bone. The sauce was not overwhelming as I worried, but complemented the tender pork. I was expecting the mediocre National Park food, but this place is a diamond. Eat here if at East Glacier. The guy next to me was complimenting his server on his food, but I could not see what he was eating.

Yelp
Dining in Glacier National Park typically isn't spectacular, but Two Dog Flats Grill did a pretty good job of providing quality food at a reasonable price. I got the lamb burger with fries, and it was all pretty delicious. The meat was a little overcooked, but I still appreciated all the flavors. The fries were more like wedges, but they still tasted great. My wife got a cod sandwich with baked beans, and the sandwich had pretty good flavor as well. The baked beans were standard. The Garden Salad was pretty basic, but it got the job done. The service was nice and attentive, and we didn't have to wait too long for a table or for our food. This was definitely one of the better dining options in Glacier National Park, in my opinion.

John H.

Yelp
We ate lunch there today. The food was great. It is a good option if you are in east glacier. The service was okay, but they just reopened for the season. The ambiance is okay.

Yelp
Let me give the revealing details about this place. Grrrr....quite frustrating for me. I was disappointed. I visited Glacier National Park back over the peak travel summer time. I was spending the night on the grounds of the Rising Sun Motor Inn, which is where Two Dog Flats is located. To be exact....this restaurant is THE ONLY place to get food in this section of Glacier NP. So...for everyone who is staying at The Rising Sun Inn....they'll be joining and dining with ya at Two Dog Flats at some point during the evening. Because....there's nowhere else to go! Unless you're willing to venture out of the park near East Glacier or all the way west towards Lake McDonald....you're at the mercy of this one and only restaurant. Around 3pm....the clouds and rain came fast and furious upon my hiking and exploring in the park. According to the weather forecast...there was no letting up. The downpours and fog were here to stay for the remainder of the day. With no other alternatives....I came over to The Rising Sun and checked into my cabin. Btw....this lodge is located right off Going To The Sun Road close to East Glacier. There are signs indicating it can't be missed. So just like myself and every other tourist staying at The Rising Sun Inn....around this time we all ventured over to the lodge to regroup, relax and eventually have dinner. After checking in, I should have gone straight in to eat at Two Dog Flats. Instead (since it was still early) I went back to my cabin to warm up, take a hot shower and return for dinner. This was a mistake! By the time I walked back over to Two dog Flats around 5pm....there was a long line to get into the restaurant. I figured....I'd go over to the gift shop across from the restaurant and hang out there and browse around until things calmed down. At the gift/souvenir/supply shop, I even sat down in a rocking chair while waiting out the heavy rains and hopefully that jam packed line to get a table. Well....this was another mistake. Because....when I headed back to Two Dog Flats.....yeah the line had disappeared.....BUT - THE LINE WAS JUST TO PUT YOUR NAME DOWN AS A RESERVATION! What??? So when I thought I would be seated....it was actually only to put my name down on the wait list! And the wait time for a table....1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES!!! What???? Wow....so now I really shot myself in the foot. But I had no substitute. The weather was horrible. It was getting dark. I wasn't going to trek back out on the road only to probably wait somewhere else. So...I put my name down on the wait list and went back to my cabin. Ultimately I sat down for dinner about 8pm. Ugh....what a waste of poor weather and time. I felt like I lost half a day on my trip. Finally I sat down to eat. Service was poor, disorganized. Other folks that were seated after me were being served ahead of me. I felt disrespected being alone by myself, like I was an easy target for only ordering a small guest check. Waitresses were just bypassing me without being recognized. Finally...the menu was simple. Your basic stuff for a mountain lodge type setting and atmosphere. For $22.95 - I got the Mountain Man BBQ. It was a combination of huckleberry pulled pork, smoked beef brisket, grilled chicken, baked beans, coleslaw mashed potatoes, cornbread and vegetables. Yeah I was that hungry. Overall, the food was fine...nothing special....certainly no restaurant that would specialize in BBQ. Still I was aggravated by all the waiting and the inattentiveness. I just wish they had a better system....especially for when it rains and every hiker/tourist comes over to the lodge at the same time. How about opening up a 2nd restaurant?....or a little "To Go - Takeout" express? But that's how almost all of Glacier NP is. One hotel situated in a small area of the park w/ just one restaurant. It was the same experience for me when I spent the night at the Many Glacier section of the park and the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. Their one and only restaurant - Nell's. The lines there were mind blowing! Whatever....for those who visit in the peak summer travel season....if you're staying at The Rising Sun Motor Inn.....be prepared to wait and have patience because Two Dog Flats is your only option.

Yelp
we got there at 11:40am and there was no wait. About noon however there was a line but they didn't wait that long. I wanted the baked potato but they were out. Apparently food delivery is a problem here as other restaurants this week have been out of items on their menu. This is the middle of July. I had the huckleberry pulled pork sandwich with fresh fruit salad. It was delicious. My husband had the roast beef sandwich with coleslaw. His also was fresh and delicious. We both had the NY cheesecake with huckleberry sauce and it was very good too. The huckleberry beer on tap was another treat. I was impressed for a park restaurant!

Matthew C.

Yelp
Excellent choice! I got a burger with chips and the burger was very tasty. Service was friendly and attentive. There was a bit of a wait for a table (I went in August) but there is a gift shop to look in while you wait. There also aren't too many other options in the National park either. The view was beautiful!

Mark B.

Yelp
An awesome place. We were lucky that the chef came from Many Glacier Hotel. His cooking was so good and we ate here everyday for 5 days. Cajun catfish, and flat iron steak was great. NY huckleberry cheesecake was excellent. Service was amazing. Moriah rocks.

Megha A.

Yelp
I loved this place. Amazing food and good views from this place. I ordered crunchy tofu tacos with mac and cheese based on the vegetarian recommendation from the server and loved it. I generally don't like mac and cheese but this was really good. My husband ordered Chicken Philly and it was delicious too. Unbeatable location, friendly staff and reasonable prices - would highly recommend this place.

Stavros M.

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing service. This restaurant is better than ANY of he ones outside the park on the East side. I ate here 4 times this week and LOVED it each time. The staff are all super friendly and the Trout is EXCELLENT. Get the Salad plus Trout, or the Trout entree!

Neil C.

Yelp
Good dinner spot after a long day of hiking. I recommend the mountian man bbq if you're hungry. Three different meats. Nice view of the mountains and good beer on tap.

Bossy G.

Yelp
This was the worst meal we had in 8 days of traveling. The crunchy Tofu was bizarre. The tofu was a piece about the size of a finger. It was delicious but nearly invisible hidden inside a flour burrito that had been grilled--why not use corn burritos? The flour burrito was tasteless and crumbled with the first bite. Rice tasted like Uncle Ben"s. Bean soup almost good but the spices had clearly just been dumped in and not heated to release their raw flavor. Too Bad. The chicken was moist and decent. However, the gravy had congealed and the visual was ugly. No doubt from being under a hot lamp. Why not serve the gravy on the side? They were out of various wines. Now how does this happen the third week of July? Poor management. Wine is not perishable. Our server was very good and attentive and we did appreciate her friendliness.

Steve J.

Yelp
As far as park good goes, this is pretty standard. My mom did add trout to her salad and it was amazing. Other than that, all the food is good not great, but the prices are reflective of that

Olivia M.

Yelp
Great service & great view of mountains, but the food didn't taste that great. I ordered 7 bean soup which was excellent, but the crunchy tofu tacos were just okay. The rice pilaf that came with were unseasoned & mushy. The black beans weren't seasoned at all and the potato wedges didn't have any flavor.

Dona S.

Yelp
Although the help is good, the food is the WORST. The salad was mixed and interesting but the rib eye we ordered was like a piece of dried rubber. We requested medium rare, expected a steak. The food that was brought to the table was very thin, dry and not looking like any kind of steak - certainly not a rib-eye. Nothing could be done to save this meal. I had heard it was not the best so we figured we should not try fish and thought this would be pretty easy to fix but NO! Drive the little distance (about 20 minutes) into St. Mary's. Do not eat here.
