We had our annual State of Maine Staff Day here. The parking lot is a decent size, they have bathrooms right next to it and a nice size playground as well. We walked up a little incline to a shelter with a fairly large grassy area. It was really nice and completely surrounded by trees so other people coming in couldn’t really see us. It helped that the day was beautiful and we had clear skies with a strong breeze. The shelter had plenty of outlets and lighting. The grassy area was relaxing to sit out on. They have a bunch of picnic areas out asking the ocean. There’s no beach here with water access which is kind of a bummer as we love to get in after our activities, but the views were breathtaking. We climbed the little hill by the parking lot and you can see forever. This was a really nice place overall and we may be coming back at some point.

Free, but limited parking. Cool plants and rocks. People were collecting seashells on the sandy beach. View of 2 nearby lighthouses. Well rated seafood restaurant with great view.

This state park was a once in a lifetime experience for our family while on vacation from VA! My three boys were in heaven climbing the rocks, exploring tidal pools, and even catching a glimpse of a seal in the water! It was so peaceful and beautiful. Even on an overcast day with some fog, it was spectacular. There are several picnic tables and sitting areas to just enjoy the view. There is a playground and bathroom facilities. If you are looking for an amazing Maine coastline location for an engagement event or family photos (or even senior photos), this is it! Cost for non-Maine residents was $7 per person. Less for Maine residents. (***This is NOT the location to see the two lighthouses that Two-Lights road leads to. For that, continue to the left on the road instead of entering the park and visit the Lobster Shack down the road.)

Google
Beautiful spot with a park and stunning ocean views. The rocky shoreline at the intersection adds a unique charm, and you’ll often see people taking a dip. It’s a perfect place to relax — whether you’re up for a picnic, a swim, or just a peaceful walk by the water. Highly recommend for a laid-back day out.

Google
Beautiful veiws with rocky shore. Tide pools are neat to explore at low tide. Love bringing our dog here to walk along the paths. The park is very well maintained. They have shelters to rent for large gatherings or free first come, first serve picnic table areas, most with charcoal BBQ stands. The picnic areas are well spread out with different settings. Some in sun, some in shade. Some have space for fun and games.

Google
$6 after labor day still. Lots of trails and ocean view and plenty of picnic no lighthouse. I have been here many years ago. This time has my lunch on the bench and took a short walk.

Google
Beautiful location! We brought a picnic and our own chairs to enjoy the breathtaking views. This would be a great place to visit for all ages. I am 54 and my friend is 92. We were equally able to enjoy the view with easy, wheelchair friendly access from the parking lot to where we set up our chairs. There are picnic tables and grills spread throughout the park. I also saw a large restroom building and a lovely children's playground.

Amanda W.

Google
The park is beautiful with tonnes of picnic tables and scenic views. The trails are easily accessible and walkable, with many benches to stop and sit with ocean views. It is important to state that you cannot access the lighthouse here, and will have to travel about a mile back up the road out of the state park to access views of the lighthouse.

Yelp
The parks in the Cape Elizabeth area are all amazing and the Two Lights State Park is no exception. This particular park is a bit deceiving in that the name two lights might make you think you are going to see 2 lights, there is only one on the mainland, and the other is 17 miles out to sea. But who really cares when the park gives you the amazing views that it does! The trails wind on the upper cliffs of the shoreline and provide an awesome view of Casco Bay and the ocean. Along the walking trails are benches and picnic tables where you can take pause and be at one with the ocean. The views of the crashing waves and the rocky shoreline are amazing!

Allison B.

Yelp
Cost $14 for two people out of state. Beautiful views and nice benches to sit on. We went in September and it was not too crowded. More peaceful and quaint than the lighthouse parks. You can NOT see the lighthouses from here!!!

Gigi F.

Yelp
Rocks are rocks are rocks. There are plenty of free access parks and state areas with the same views. $7.00 per person is outrageous. There isn't a light house and there isn't anything spectacular that you can't see a mile down the road for free.
google avatar

Jenna S.

Yelp
This was our first stop in Portland, and we were hoping to see light houses with the name "two lights" but were disappointed when there were no light houses. With that being said, the park was really beautiful and you get really dramatic views of the cliffs along the water. Don't come here if you are looking for light houses, but more of views of the ocean.
google avatar

Yelp
A wonderful place to see the ocean and nature: birds, flora and fauna and sea! Different trails and places to stop and have a picnic or BBQ! Some historic interests as well. Off season there is no payment for this state park. You cannot actually see any lighthouse from this park---which I think the entrance sign states. Drive up the road 1 min for lighthouse view. Really peaceful place meant for quiet, reflection, enjoyment and the appreciation of nature.
google avatar

Frank W.

Yelp
We did not see two lighthouses and the one we did, Portland Head Light, was in the distance, but that did not diminish our visit in the least. We walked along the seaside paths above the rocky headlands while avoiding the steep stone steps (we are seniors) that probably would lead to even better views. At the time of our visit (9/21) there no fees charged.

Yelp
A beautiful view of the Maine coast that I personally had not seen until today--the rock formations on Cape Elizabeth here are amazing. Lots of tide pools to potentially explore, and yes, it's quite possible to spend hours just gazing out into the ocean, waves crashing on the rocks. You can meander down or stay on one of a number of benches/picnic tables throughout the area. I had a wonderful time.

Yelp
I had never been to Two Lights State Park! I don't know why or how I missed it - it's nearby other landmark/noteworthy areas that I've visited countless times. We had no idea what to expect when we came, but it immediately has become one of my favorite visual spots on the coast. It's quintessential Maine, isn't it? A dramatic, rocky coastline that abruptly ends as it meets the intense Atlantic ocean crashing into it. Yes, there's a groomed path you can walk along to take in the vast blue space ahead and around you, little cleared out areas among the trees that you can picnic at, a hill you can walk up to learn more about the bunkers within it and the history of the area, but mostly you're coming here to live on the edge. Literally. It's traversing dangerously jagged and uneven terrain to be as close to the depths of the sea as you can be without being swept away by it. We sat for ages taking in the 180°+ view of the open ocean because it was just *that* entrancing. Admittedly: I feel like I'll need to update this review when it's summer, because we came at a really special time. It was the middle of winter, the day after a full moon, high tide, and there was a wind warning. This was a recipe for a view unlike anything I've ever seen off the coast of Maine. Enormous, teal colored waves crashing violently and endlessly against the rocks. It was otherworldly. I'm sure it's much different in the middle of a hot, humid August day. Regardless -- if you want to be impressed by the glory and grandeur of nature... come here.
google avatar

Mallory D.

Yelp
We brought lunch here to have a picnic by the water which was relaxing and we really enjoyed listening to the waves. You can see the lighthouse well but can't get close or a decent picture from where we sat.
google avatar

Yelp
Two Lights State Park seems a bit underrated but it's a hidden gem. If you're looking to take awesome photos and a place for "thinking" time, I highly recommend it. It's really peaceful with not a lot of people. The parking is limited but it's worth the stop. I love hearing the waves crash along the shore here. I had a great experience here and would visit again.

Yelp
Super interesting and unique state park on the Maine coast. If you're into military or geological history this is an easy win. We were on vacation nearby and stumbled on this park by taking the wrong turn in a walking trail. Saw the observation tower and said, "Well that's interesting." Checked out the former gun batteries. And scrambled on the rocky shore for an hour checking out tide pools. Looks like great cookout and picnic spot. Could be a great way to breakup a longer trip along the Maine coast.

Yelp
State park with entrance fee of $7.00 per vehicle. Very pretty site along the Maine coast. It overlooks Casco Bay and out into the Atlantic. Locals told us that you can see whales from here, but there weren't any whole we were there. There are two lighthouses nearby, hence the name. One is still operational and the other is closed and privately owned and was turned into a residence. There are old battlements here where cannon used to protect the waterway. Interesting history and beautiful views, check it out.

Jordyn B.

Yelp
Wow! Unexpected pit stop. The woman at the gate was so sweet and helpful. She told us all about the park. There's loads of hiking trails! Lovely views, a park, picnic areas, and clean restrooms. I wish we'd had more time to explore.

Reba J.

Yelp
Worth the sto and fee. There is ample parking within walking distance to shore. The sound of waves so soothing. Benches and picnic tables along the wall. Love it.

Yelp
Maine was a state I frequently ran to when I needed an escape from the city life in Boston, MA. I used to just pack up and drive up to Maine for a weekend to shut everything off and enjoy nature. So when we were visiting MA a few weeks ago, I jumped at the chance to drive up to Maine and meet up with some friends. They suggested this place and I'm glad they did. This state park is beautiful and very peaceful. It's relaxing without the pretentiousness and serene. The restaurant we were going to is located in this state park so I'm glad we got this amazing view while enjoying dinner at the Lobster Shack. Next time, I'll come back just to hike and take in the views a bit more.

Yelp
Two Lights State Park is my absolute favorite place to go when I need to get away from the world. It's calm and quiet and right on the ocean. They will let you host events here, weddings, company picnics etc. for a small fee and I've been to one or two. The best part is you feel like a Hobbit walking through the paths under the tree branches and the winding paths right up to an ocean cliff then back into the woods. Great place to picnic and relax and think for awhile. Do yourself a favorite and stop here with an Italian and your favorite book to get away for awhile.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
They have bbq grills and picnic benches right on the sea side. And it's on a cliff too. Very picturesque! Such beautiful weather in the summer time!
google avatar

Marc H.

Yelp
This park was introduced to me by a very special person who came in to my life as quick as a fleeting sunset! I come here to now witness the sunrise to introduce the daily reflections... This park has plenty of trails along the rocky coast to enjoy a quick cardio workout or you can reflect by sitting on one of the many benches! I personally find our special place and sit in the rocky outcrop. So nice! There are bathroom facilities in the warm months, but in the winter you will need to go before you arrive! Happy adventuring!
google avatar

Holli W.

Yelp
Wonderful views and fun walk with the husband. There is an anti aircraft battery and history at the park to check out too.
google avatar

Yelp
I initially thought Two Lights State Park is where the lighthouses are. I could not see either lighthouse from the park. Nevertheless, it is a fun park to wander around for an hour. It is fun to walk on the cliffs as you feel the cool and soothing sea breeze grace your skin. Of course, do not get too close to the waves of the oceans. They are very strong and it is dangerous if they drag you in. Moreover, it is easy to slip on wet cliffs so watch your step or just stay on the parts of the cliffs that are dry and away from the water. If you are looking for the lighthouses, there is a lookout point at the end of Two Lights Road. However, there is limited parking so you may have to wait for a spot. You will see Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse towards the north and Two Lights Lighthouse West Tower to the west behind it. The Lobster Shack at Two Lights (225 Two Lights Rd, Cape Elizabeth, ME 04107) is right next to the lookout point and a popular lobster roll spot. You can drive closer to the lighthouses if you drive on to 2 Lights Terrace. The road runs right up to Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse. The West Tower is on Beacon Lane. Nevertheless, the roads are private so be respectful of the homeowners and be quick if you decide to drive up closer to the towers. If you are visiting and planning a trip to Portland and looking for recommendations, feel free to message me for my itinerary. You can also find the electronic copy through the link my profile.

Yelp
Great place to visit, we walked along the ocean. Restrooms were extremely clean and easy to access. We got there early and had to self pay on the honor system, make sure to bring cash if visiting early. When we left there was an attendant.

Yelp
This park is small but very cute. The main attraction is the coast. Check the weather for rough waters, it makes for a beautiful scene. There are a lot of picnic tables and tons of benches to rest and relax on. The hiking trails probably total about 1 mile but they are all shaded and easy treks. Note that the lighthouses aren't in the park and you can't even really see them unless you went further north. Go to the lobster shack for the lighthouses (which are private)

Katie J.

Yelp
I'm a medical professional on temporary contract in Portland. Two Lights is my favorite place to work out. The scenery is just gorgeous and it's the time of year when the tourists are gone.
google avatar

Amelie D.

Yelp
Very little park, not a lot of parking. No trail available to go to the light house. A little disappointed on this one.
google avatar

Phillip Y.

Yelp
I visited this place a few years ago and the following year my sister tagged along. This place is amazing to see the remaining one lighthouse. Go left past the park to get a view of the lighthouse. Afterwards head back, make an almost jack-knife turn into the state park. There are some nice trails that goes to the top for a view of the rocky shore. There is a playground as well for kids. Picnic benches around if you want to bring your lunch.
google avatar

Gina S.

Yelp
This place is so cool! Visited Portland for one day and stopped here. It's just a really awesome looking place. I recommend climbing on the rocks! You see lots of little clams and snails. Definitely get a lobster roll at the little lobster shack!
google avatar

Angie P.

Yelp
We took an Uber to this state park. Free admission since we didn't park a car. Great bathroom facilities a mixture of hills ,forest ,beaches ,rocks and Lighthouse views. Super friendly staff guided us. Could exit the park into a nearby neighborhood to get closer to lighthouses. Met a lady named Mary that had an art studio from her deceased husband. Gave us a tour, gave us some water, shared history, and unexpected Delight!
google avatar

GE E.

Yelp
Very pretty state park. Lots of picnic benches and trails. I read that one guy paid $7.00 per vehicle. We paid $7.00 per person, I wish we questioned price more. No soap in bathroom especially during covid so bring hand sanitizer. Lots of parking when we went.
google avatar

Irene H.

Yelp
We parked by the Lobster Shack. There was a hurricane that weekend which meant rain. I found the rain, mist, and grey skies to be absolutely gorgeous accompanied by the sound of fog horns. A must visit in my book!

Maria B.

Yelp
Beautiful park . Can just sit and relax and watch the water . Beautiful views . Walking trails , little grills if you wanted to barbecue. Also has a playground area. The perfect spot for couples or families .
google avatar

Lindsay W.

Yelp
I love coming here when I visit Maine. I've been going to Maine since I was a child and my family and I would always make a point to stop here. A few years ago my mother and I went up to stay in Old Orchard and we decided to check out Two Lights at sunset for the first time. We used to only go during the daytime. If it wasn't for all the mosquitos eating us alive we would have stayed longer. I was able to get a few beautiful sunset pictures which I have added. Two Lights is maybe 20 mins from OOB area (I think). It's worth the drive.
google avatar

Jeffrey T.

Yelp
Spectacular views and vistas. Two Lights didn't disappoint. In fact, I'd recommend visiting this State Park to anyone visiting the area. There are miles of trails and tons of places to sit on benches and just look at the waves and hear the water crashing up on the rocks below. If you're daring like us, hike on down to the water's edge and view the waves right at sea level. Just be careful of any rogue waves! I can't wait to return!
google avatar

Carlo F.

Yelp
Great location just to chill and unwind. Perfect timing is to see the water glow during the sun set
google avatar

Michelle P.

Yelp
I love it here. There are so many picnic tables all over the park. So you can have a lovely picnic, followed by a beautiful walk. It has spectacular views! A wonderful place to go with a book. Or bring some friends and make a day of it. One of my favorite spots in Maine.
google avatar

Justine J.

Yelp
This place is, indeed, magical. There's a small fee to get in -- maybe $3 per person? -- but it's worth it. Just make sure you have cash on you so you don't feel like a jerk paying with a credit card. Even on the most gorgeous days, this place is NEVER busy -- I don't know how it's possible but it is. Lots of picnic tables, grills, beautiful paths through the woods, benches, and dramatic coastline and ocean views to enjoy. SO WONDERFUL.
google avatar

Aaron P.

Yelp
This is a magical place. There are tunnel-like archways or trees and bushes, little hidden nooks with picnic tables for a secluded picnic, and an abundance of beautiful outlooks onto the rocky shoreline. The paths branch and split, so you can vary your route on repeat visits, with spots to grill peppered throughout. The playground, situated adjacent to the parking lot, is large and well-maintained. My toddler daughter loves romping around it. A truly beautiful place for all sorts of occasions and purposes.
google avatar

Susan O.

Yelp
Beautiful views ! Great place for relaxing on the rocks and listening to the waves crashing up along the rocks! Picturesque! Great view of the lighthouse!
google avatar

Rachel D.

Yelp
What a beautiful little park! I'm so surprised that after being from Maine, I've never been to Two Lights until yesterday. It's small but easy to maneuver. Note to tourists: THERE IS NO LIGHTHOUSE AT THIS PARK. It's between two light houses, hence the name, but no light house lives here.. see Bug Light or Portland Head Light for that. Otherwise, there are some really cool rocks here and a great view. If you want to enjoy Maine a little off the beaten path (i.e. Isn't swarming with tourists like Portland Head Light) head here! I'll definitely be back in the next couple of months once it gets warmer out!
google avatar

Carol D.

Yelp
Driving through Maine, we decided to find a park where we could see the ocean. We drove to Two Lights and were asked by the ranger if we were there for light houses? We weren't, so I don't know the reasoning behind the question. The cost is slightly higher for non-residents, it cost $9 for the two of us to get in. This is a smaller park but has excellent paths, places to picnic, and gorgeous views. I could definitely have spent more than an hour or two relaxing there.
google avatar

Julie H.

Yelp
Omg! Breathtaking views. I absolutely LOVED my visit here. First visit to Maine for me and my son and we could have stayed for hours.

Heather G.

Yelp
There are no actual light houses at the park like you would assume. You have to drive to the lobster shack and see it from afar. They don't tell you that the light houses are not actually at the park you pay for. Not worth $ or drive.
google avatar

D T.

Yelp
Are you kidding me? This park charges $7/person (non resident) such that our family of 4 (teens not little ones) cost $28! That's about as much as going to Yosemite or Yellowstone, and more than Acadia. What do you get for it? A picnic area, pleasant walking grounds (maybe a mile total?), lovely view of the ocean, walking along large rocks (advise against if it's rainy). Can't even see a lighthouse in spite of the name. Nice enough but very poor value for the money. Go instead to Fort William and the Portland lighthouse, which is free. It's free if you're a senior citizen living in Maine.
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
A really beautiful spot. It is a State Park and there is a fee to drive in ($4.50/person, I think) and it's worth it. Visiting on an off-season weekday in September we had the small park almost all to ourselves. There are some canopied paths off the shoreline and a number of nooks carved into the greenery where there are permanent grills set up for those who know to bring food to cook (we didn't and wound up at "The Lobster Shack" just a 1/8 mile north). The slabs of bare rock, that comprise the coast here, resembled petrified wood that I have encountered. I guess it's a common misconception because the first sentence on the informational plaque we read on our way back to the parking area begins, "Many people mistakenly believe the rock located here to be petrified wood. In fact it was created when a tremendous earthquake millions of years ago pushed the sediment of an ancient seabed up onto these shores creating this striated rock". Don't you just learn something new every time you Yelp?

Damian S.

Yelp
It's a great park for having a picnic by the seaside but it's pricey to get into. Also there is no lighthouse here, so don't let the pictures here fool you
google avatar

Tyler L.

Yelp
Two Lights State Park has an admission fee which is strange for the size. The light houses here are less dramatic than the fairly nearby Cape Elizabeth one, but you do get amazing and dramatic coastline views here. The craggy rocky coastline extends along here for seemingly forever. Make sure to go to the phenomenal lobster shack for great food.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
Gorgeous must see! Perfect for family picnic, day out with friends, or a solo adventure!
google avatar

Patrick R.

Yelp
Amazing views with access to an inexpensive place for quality lobster that you can eat right on the beach, looking at the lighthouses. The entry fee was extremely low ($3 for Maine residents, $4.50 for out of state visitors). It was the most representative experience of Maine that I came across during my time there.

Sarah L.

Yelp
$7 per person is way overpriced. The park is so small and there are no lighthouses. We won't come back again.
google avatar

ALISON Q.

Yelp
Great spot! Nice views and walking trails....great picnic areas and bathrooms which is always nice!
