Two Meeting Street Inn

This is truly the most beautiful home in Charleston. We have stayed every year for 24 years for my husband‘s birthday and the service has always been impeccable, the food delicious, the room and grounds are stunning and it’s in the best location in Charleston. We adore it. Can’t wait till it reopens!

One of the most beautiful houses on Charleston's historic Battery. This house was a wedding present from Mr. Williams to his daughter and was built for $ 75,000 in 1892. The house was owned by the Spell family from 1946 until it recently sold.

We stayed three nights for our anniversary. If you can splurge for one of the premier rooms on the second floor with the porch, do it! We really enjoyed sitting out there watching the tourists, carriage rides and rain one evening. Afternoon tea was great and we had fun chatting with the other guests. The house and grounds were beautiful. The staff was amazing. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed our honeymoon here! Was the absolute perfect place to stay to have a true Charleston experience. The rooms were perfect, breakfast was outstanding and the staff truly exuded southern hospitality. Make sure you have a glass of their ice cold sweet tea on the porch after a day of sightseeing!

This historic inn built in 1892 is a relaxing place to stay with its deep, wrap-around porch and lovely accommodations. The staff and service were great. We had arrived in Charleston about two weeks earlier staying at another property before going to Savannah for a few days. We stayed at Two Meeting Street on our return. There were no vacancies the previous week. Breakfast and afternoon tea were very nice which we enjoyed on the porch. Guests can park on South Battery Street at no charge. We stayed in room #4 which is above the dining room and very nice. Some rooms have access to the second floor porch, and four rooms have updated bathrooms. Our room still had a large clawfoot tub with the shower in the tub. This inn does not have an elevator. We hope to return and get one of the 2nd floor rooms with access to the porch.

Our four-night stay at Two Meeting Street Inn was great! First of all, I appreciate everyone that leaves reviews here because that really played into our decision. The overall property is immaculate, and the staff is very friendly. Breakfast was something different each day, but consistently delicious. We stayed in the Carr Room #3 which has a huge balcony. You share the balcony with the room next door, but we had the majority of the space. Enjoyed breakfast on the balcony our first morning and the remainder of our mornings we ate outside on the porch as the weather was perfect. We only took part in afternoon tea (4:30 pm) one day as we were off doing other things. It was a generous afternoon snack and definitely enough to ruin your dinner, so plan your next meal accordingly! The inn is located directly across the street from White Point Garden (a tree-covered park) and the Battery seawall promenade, a great place to walk off the day’s calories. The only complaint about our stay is that the mattress really needed to be replaced as it sunk badly in the middle. We advised the staff upon checkout, so hopefully they’ve corrected that situation. Otherwise, this place is perfection! We were within walking distance to downtown and just about anywhere we wanted to go. If you don’t want to walk, you can always get Uber/Lyft or the pedicabs will pick you up as well. Staying here was a wonderful experience. Treat yourself when you’re in Charleston!

Gorgeous home and lovely rooms. The deep wrap-around porch with comfortable chairs was a great place to relax and enjoy. The staff was great, and the breakfasts (and afternoon teas) were outstanding. Don't go there if you're trying to lose weight! Do go there to relax and enjoy your day. We will definitely go back again.
