Sam Neill Wants You to Check Out This Underrated New Zealand Wine Region
"Founded in 1993 by actor Sam Neill, this boutique Central Otago winery operates four vineyards and is known for producing organic, biodynamic (but pragmatically applied) wines—especially bright, vivid Pinot Noirs. It has a solid reputation as a serious, quality-driven venture rather than a typical celebrity label, emphasizing soil health, careful clone and rootstock selection learned through trial and error, and small-scale, high-quality production; one of its sites even claims to be among the southernmost vineyards in the world. The winemaking philosophy prioritizes making outstanding New World Pinot that offers strong value relative to Old World equivalents, and while biodynamic preps are used, the founder dismisses some of the more mystical rituals (like the cow-horn-at-full-moon practice)." - Ryan Grim
I love this wine and the winery and have been there several times.
However after having an issue with the wind I purchased I was treated like I was trying to get something for nothing where all I simply wanted was replacement bottles.
The manager Jacqui who I ended up talking to on the phone after being forgotten was rude condescending and abrupt. This will not stop me buying my favourite wine I just hope if you do have an issue you don’t ave to deal with Jacqui Murphy.
Thanks Sam great wine!
The fact nobody has even responded to my review after weeks what does that say that’s why I have amended to a 1 star. Great work Jacqui

One of the most amazing Central Otago experiences. It was such a pleasure to have Jacqui take us through the farm and vineyard, explore the sustainable practices used and really showcase the detailed care that goes into the grapes before we tasted them. The experience was as incredible as the wines. Thank you so much!

It is our Holy Grail of pinot noir...and not just because of Sam Neill! We were treated to more than two hours of the most friendly and personal tour of Two Paddocks...and we met and fed apples to Angelica. Thank you for giving us your time, Linda.

The final conflict of our journey was which Winery to visit. We arrived and it was dead calm, it was like the lost world, under the mountain. The dish we ordered was Rams, with snow white blackbird on the side. What a sweet country we live in, I can already feel another event on the horizon.
Daybreakers was a great movie.
