Made a reservation almost a week ago through Booking.com. I paid £121 for two with breakfast. On the day I checked, a better room with four poster bed was available for £81. I felt that I was fooled as I paid almost 50% more. The dinner was good. A decent portion for a reasonable price. The bed in room 11 was a real let down. The mattress was very cheap with no springs and was making noise every time I turned. The head board was loose and it was moving. I will not stay again for the above reason.

Booked a table for dinner tonight, 15/9/24, for two people. The staff were very nice and courteous. Didn’t have long to wait for orders to be taken. Very apologetic when advising non alcoholic drink was out of stock.|Food arrived quite quickly, the restaurant was very busy, and was very hot. I had the seafood gratin which was full of fish with a very cheesy mash topping. My husband had the roast chicken pot pie and said the puff pastry top was very light and flaky. We had a side of vegetables which were cooked perfectly.|We both had the soup to start which was very thick with a big slice of bread. The portions are quite generous. My husband had the Baileys crème brûlée which was light.|We enjoyed our meals so much we booked again for Wednesday evening.

I was booked here by my company but didn't expect my room to be so small. Also the bathroom was down the main corridor, which had no shower and the water was tepid. No toilet paper which I had to go down to reception. Inconvenient that no water in room so you have to go down the corridor to get water. If I was an older person it could have been embarrassing if you had a weak bladder. There is a plus side.....the food is excellent, well priced, tasty and plentiful.

We have stayed here many times and Ty Gwyn remains one of our favourite places. Quaint and comfortable accommodation, easy access to Betws and local shops, and amazing food. Everything is freshly cooked and most definitely worth waiting for.

Lovely little pub a short drive away from Mount Snowdon - we booked last minute and were very happy with our room. Had a quick drink when we arrived in the evening (9:30pm) and enjoyed the bar area - a proper traditional pub! The food and menu looked great and regret not eating there instead! Breakfast the next morning was good - good full English, clearly great quality ingredients and the hashbrowns were 10/10. Only criticism was that breakfast didn't start till 8:15am so meant we started walking slightly later than we'd hoped!

Just had Sunday lunch here and it was excellent. The food was delicious whilst the service was swift and friendly. Terrific value too - roast beef, desserts and drinks for two of us came to £50. Would happily pay more for food this good - highly recommended.

Had an evening meal here at the recommendation of out guest house. Service was a bit slow but this was negated by the wonderful hospitality The food was not only fantastic and plentiful but also great value and nothing seemed to much trouble. Not a lot of parking but Its close to the town so i'd suggest walking, especially if your sampling the bar!

Family evening meal here. Trying to think of any faults, but no luck. Very busy on arrival, confusion over booking, but sorted out quickly by very efficient staff. Ate in the restaurant part. Recommend all dishes, especially the duck starter. Had sea bream as main, followed by cheesecake dessert. The biggest problem with the dinner was my eyes were bigger than my belly. Well presented, well served, all appreciated and even the starters were large. On the expensive side but well worth it.

Yelp
Recently discovered this gem on a trip to Snowdonia. Wonderful pub food, serving local meats and ingredients. We ate here twice, easily the best food in the local vicinity and the atmosphere is especially suited to cold wintry nights. We had the homemade Steak & Ale pie and Slow braised Lamb Hock, both were divine. This is not fine dining but British classics using excellent local ingredients and executed wonderfully. I imagine this is the kind of fare that the local folk and the farming community have been getting for centuries but virtually impossible to find for us city slickers The perfect reward after conquering Snowdon!

Yelp
We stayed at the Ty Gwyn hotel in Betws-y-coed, Cymru (Wales) in the early part of October, 2012. My sister found it and booked us a couple of rooms for two nights. The hotel is a B&B as well as a very popular restaurant. Betws-y-coed is a gateway to Snowdonia, the national park which is a must visit if you're in the area. If you stay some place else, you must try to get a reservation to the restaurant. And getting a reservation on a Friday and a Saturday looked like a hard thing to do. The food is excellent, well served. The breakfasts are amazing. The ambience in the somewhat cramped environment is charming. The hotel itself is very well run. The staff, and in particular Rob (?) and the owners son whose name we forgot to get, were all very professional and friendly. They do have wifi but it does not extend into the rooms unfortunately. Which means we had to go and sit in the tiny lobby to get a good signal. But it is there and it is free. The rooms are small and most come with en suite bathrooms. Some rooms look like they have the bathroom across the hall but are dedicated to a single room. Everything was clean and well taken care off though not new. The lamps are low. I'm not tall and it was easy to brush my head against the chandelier. Mattress was comfortable, room was warm, the shower had good pressure, tea and coffee provided. The outer walls to this hotel are thick. The walls between rooms are thin so noise travels easily. My wife could hear the guy next door snoring. I easily rose to the challenge and out-snored him according to her. One of the main drawbacks to the hotel is that it is right on the street. And a busy one at that during the day. And by right on the street I mean you have to watch traffic carefully as you walk next to the hotel. Traffic noise does seep in but traffic dies down at night to pick up again in the morning. It wasn't a problem for me. If you're sensitive, then a room on the back of the hotel might be better. I liked my view of the river from our window. It's a little walk across a bridge to get to the town but it's not a big deal. Definitely go to the restaurant for an evening meal. You won't be sorry. I really enjoyed staying here and recommend it to anyone.
