Tycoon Flats N St Marys

First time here. My friends recommended it and so we met up. It was cold outside and while they have space heaters outside, I was glad they had plenty of indoor seating as well. Everything was seasoned and cooked well. I really like the fried mushrooms. They were crispy and the battery was good. The only negative was that my tortilla soup was room temp. I was surprised by how flavorful it was and ate it without complaining. I'd definitely order it again. My husband enjoyed his cheese burger and crispy tater tots. Nothing was over or under cooked. The sweet tea was a good Southern sweet, not overly sweet. Service was great and good came out quickly.

This place was great. Kid and dog friendly. Inside and outside eating areas. The food was good. The drinks were great. We sat outside by the bar. Misting fans blowing in all directions.

This is the best burger place I've ever been to. My new favorite restaurant in San Antonio, for sure. Everyone working is super nice and welcoming, the food is beyond good. The Fried Avocado burger (what I got) is amazing. It's a cute spot, cozy and inviting, the atmosphere is homey, you just walk in and sit where you want. I came with my family and everyone was more than satisfied. Definitely give it a try if you're in the area!

We had a great time at our friend’s get-together at this restaurant. We all ordered a variety of dishes, and everyone was super happy with their choices. The service was great - prompt, friendly, and helpful. Marisol was especially awesome, taking great care of us with a smile. We’ll definitely be back to try other flavors at their burgers.

I must say, this place is a really good hole in the wall place to eat! The price to quantity ratio is hands down AWESOME!! If you leave hungry, it's your own fault. The only advice I would give, if you order a "stuffed burger" make sure you kick up your cooking preference up one notch, if you like med rare, ask for med or even med well. This was our 1st time in this area. We just finished touring the zoo and found this place nearby. Let me tell you....HOLY COW!!!! Far exceeded my expectations. What a fun atmosphere. The burgers are cooked perfectly to the doneness of your choosing. I sure wish i had a tycoon flats near where i live. Def recommend this place 100%.

I went there at a little after 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday. Just a handful of customers at that time. It started getting busier around 5:00 p.m. They have unique burgers, plenty of outdoor seating, smaller indoor seating. TVs, shade, fans, families, outdoor bar area, casual, etc. Servers took care of me right away. I had a drink in hand within minutes! Everything tasted fine. But it was just that... fine. They ask you what level of doneness you want your burger to be cooked. I always ask for rare. (Sadly, I 'rarely' get it, but I'm always open to the hope they will surprise me.) Burger came out it medium 😜. But, like I said, my expectations anymore on that account, are really low. Many to most, do not deliver a legit rare burger. Sad. But true. Not sure why they even ask what level you want it then. The flavor of the meat was just fine. The temperature of the onion rings and the burger were mid. I chose the Monte Cristo Burger on the bartenders recommendation. I typically don't like ham but I am compelled to say the breaded ham on there was really tasty and I finish that. They serve it with raspberry jam. Yeah, that's good! The burger part... Meh. It was... Fine. I don't get a bun, so the burger really stands out for me-whether it's good or not that great. Have it with the bun all together and you might be more satisfied than I was. Look, overall this place is good. You can bring your family, service was fast and attentive, lots of typical American menu items- burgers, wings, fries, onion rings, etc. You should check it out. I believe one of their burgers was featured on the Food Network once. You can decide for yourself 🙌

Came here for lunch . We started with the fried veggie platter and it came out hot and it was delish. My husband got a stuffed burger with tater tot’s which was also amazing . I got the sampler of specialty sliders and I have to say without a doubt try the burger with the bacon feta and cranberry wow it was life changing . Our waitress was amazing very attentive . We sat outside and there were plenty of fans to keep you cool. I would absolutely recommend this place and plan on returning very soon!!! Tycoon flats keep Up the great work !!!

I would recommend this place any day :) 10/10. As a dad of two active kids, finding a place where we can all sit down, enjoy good food, and leave happy is no small task--but this spot hits the mark every single time. It's become our little family go-to for burgers and shakes, and I can't recommend it enough. The burgers are top-notch. We ordered one of their burgers, which has always been a go-to for us in the past. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype this time. The burger lacked the bold flavors Tycoon Flats used to deliver, and for the price, we expected more. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable either--just kind of meh. Here's the rundown: The Good: The atmosphere is still great. It's a fun, chill spot to hang out, especially if you're with friends. The Not-So-Good: The burger felt underwhelming, both in taste and value. It didn't have the same punch of flavor it used to. Service: The staff seemed distracted and not very attentive, which added to the "just okay" experience. Overall, Tycoon Flats is still a cool place to visit, but the food and service didn't quite hit the mark this time. Hoping they bring back the flavor and quality we've come to love in the past!

This is definitely a very laidback atmosphere. We sat outside during happy hour and were 1 of 2-3 tables there. The service started out very meh but became much better thankfully. We ordered appetizers; fried pickles and the fried vegetables. The pickles were crisp and very tart with a bit of spice. My favorite of the whole meal was the vegetables, cooked perfectly and very flavorful. We all ordered burgers and we were surprised at how bland they were. I honestly did not taste any garlic whatsoever in my garlic burger. The bottom bun was also soaked and a soggy mess. We would come back for drinks and appetizers but we'd skip the burgers. Also the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting so we'd skip those as well.

My husband and I were wanting a good burger so we tried Tycoon Flats! The location is near St Mary's. They do have a small parking lot and there was also street parking. They offer seating inside as well as outside patio. We chose to sit outside so we could eat dinner and people watch! The outside patio has a bar and there were ample tables to accommodate any size group. They also have outside fans to cool things off! The menu has great selection of entrees. We ordered onion rings for an appetizer. They were not the larger crispy onion rings that we traditionally served. Their onion rings were thinly sliced and fried. For our dinner we ended up sharing the 3 mini burger sampler and it WAS SCRUMPTIOUS! We tried 3 of the burgers that had been featured on TV. All three of them were out of this world! The burgers can with a side of tater tots! We had excellent service; our server was very friendly and attentive. She knew the menu and gave great recommendations on what to order! If you are wanting a fresh burger, great customer service, and fun/casual atmosphere, Tycoon Flats is a GREAT CHOICE!!

1st! SHALYN IS AMAZING!! Every burger was delicious!!! And the frozen cherry limeade- fuggedahboudit! Run don't walk! So good!

It has been at last 7 years since I have visited this place, and I can't remember the food. Gave the guys at work a shot at redeeming themselves with all the crappy recommendations they gave. Well this time I was very pleasantly pleased. The place is awesome, and the muffler heaters are awesome. Our waitress was great, and the drinks and appetizers came out quickly. I can only judge on the food I ordered and apps we shared. I had the the jalapeño bacon burger with tots. It was amazing! I love when burger places ask you how you want your burger cooked. They cooked it perfectly and the bacon was dang good! The apps we share were the fried pickles and queso jalapeno fries. They were meh. The pickles were just missing that tang. They were cooked perfectly, but like someone at the table said, "it kind of feels like fried cucumbers". The fries also weren't special, the queso was missing kick. They weren't terrible. The spicy ranch that comes with the pickles was also not spicy. The beers we ordered were cold! Before I left, I asked the waitress for two desserts to go, I let her choose. She gave me the bread pudding, and peach cobbler. First, the bread pudding was the best bread pudding I've ever had. The whiskey sauce just elevated it! THANK YOU FOR NOT ADDING RAISINS! The other dessert unfortunately was a no for us! The peach cobbler. I will be nice, but just no. It felt like a cake on top of canned peaches. Will definitely be back with the fam and try other burgers!

Amazed and disappointed that I have never visited this place before. A great burger spot!! ALL of the staff were friendly and welcoming. When I say ALL I MEAN ALL!! If someone happened to come out of the kitchen and passed by; they spoke and smiled, the same for all of the servers. Food...on point. Burgers were juicy and cooked as just as they should be. The fries and tots had a nice crispiness on the outside and just as soft as you'd want on the inside. Great beer selection. Definitely will be going back.

My daughter and I went after her volleyball game. We sat right away and were greeted by our waitress. Both of us were hungry so we decided on our meal pretty quickly. My daughter ordered an Oreo milkshake and the Honey BBQ and bacon burger. I got the fried avocado burger and we shared six wings - buffalo. The wings were fresh, crispy, and delicious. Our burgers were piled high with ingredients. They did not disappoint. I have been to Tycoon Flats in YEARS, but I will definitely be heading back soon!!

07 Apr 2024 Stopped in for brunch and to avoid the crowds of Siclovia for a while, which is running from N. St. Mary's and 281 to Brooklyn Avenue. Hadn't been here for brunch before. Husband had the Mexican burger (pico de gallo and cheese) and I had the stuffed Belgium waffle. Stuffed with egg, applewood bacon and cheese. So good! Served with butter and syrup. Our server Olivia was just fine. She came by to check on us at just the right times. She was also taking care of a large table next to us. One of those folks was one of those who've done everything many times over and repeatedly tells you about it. Remember the movie 'Airplane'? That's how it was. Ha, ha. The Flats had live music going on right outside their front door. Quite good. Live music is coming back within 4-6 weeks, I'm told. The owner came by and asked how it was. Good, we said. He thanked us for coming by. We asked how business was and he said they were still down about 30%. Ouch. Well, we do our little part. Go there.

Came here for a birthday lunch. Made reservations the day before online. Confirmation was the same day. Seating is outside seating and they had fans with mist attached to them. The waitress was extremely helpful and nice. Food was amazing. We got fulled up on the appetizers. One of the dishes to order is the trio for specialty burgers. You get three burgers (except 2) to try with fries or chips. They even hid our cupcakes until we were ready in their fridge. They had plants all over the place. It made the atmosphere calming. There is a bar to sit at to order drinks and one restroom for each gender.

A classic go to. At Tycoon Flats I know I can always expect to have a consistently good burger. Every time I come here I try a different burger and am never disappointed. Today my wife and I ordered a strawberry marg on the rocks, chips and salsa, the balsamic blue burger and the fried avocado burger. They both were very juicy and tasted very fresh! The service was super fast and hardly had to wait on anything! Although today is a Wednesday afternoon, this place would be awesome to have live music on the weekends (and/or weekdays) during the evening hours. It would create such vibe to have a someone and their guitar!

Wow! Tycoon Flats is a very chill and welcoming place. As soon as you walk in, everyone greets you. The food was amazing - especially the bacon bleu balsamic burger! Service was excellent! Highly recommend!

The food was delicious and they offer great drink Special daily. We sat by the bar area and it was a cooler Sunday, and they did have the heaters on so that was such a plus, especially since there is mostly outdoor seating. I did notice there is a small section that looked indoor. The onion rings were lightly fried and they give you plenty with the appetizer order. I loved their homemade potato chips! Sauerkraut dog was delicious and not overwhelming. I added some chili to mine. The flavor of the dog itself was also very beefy tasty and yummy! The rum mimosa was good...maybe a bit sweet for me. I also ordered a beer and it was not very cold. The michelada was tasty! Would be nice if we could order flights of beer. Our first server was great and attentive. She did have to leave while we were eating and switched us to another server. He wasn't as attentive. It wasn't busy but I understand lack of staff has been an issue. Overall great experience! The food is very good! Not your typical bar tasting food!

Great burgers...nice scene. After striking out at some other burger joints on a Monday lunch time, we showed up at Tycoon Flats...great thing we did. No wait, we were immediately seated and ask for drinks. Even when we didn't have anything in mind, the staff offered up some water - til we made our minds up. I opened up their menu and it was loaded with burger options and alternatives. I would have been fine with a simple cheeseburger, but I wanted to try something new (or new at Tycoon Flats) and went with the feta cranberry burger. The burgers are big, and when you add the ingredients to your special burger they are bigger. That said, that means there is plenty to eat. I had sweet potato fries on the side, but you have regular fries, tots, onion rings... you name it. The onion rings were pretty durn crunchy. We were checked on often and had a great time. It's outdoors , but there are some covered tables. I made sure to get in front of one with a fan (for air flow). They have this amazing mural on the back wall of Old St. Marty's strip which was totally different than what's out there today. I'm going back to try more burgers.

This is a great divey spot to hangout with one/a group of friends! I recommend you checking this place when you want a unique burger. There are so many great burger places so it's hard to decide, right? TRUST I know! My favorite part about this place is the huge amounts of beer selections they have on tap! Their margaritas are delcious

My first time here! I had no idea they were going to have a beautiful outdoor seating area with a bar! I loved and appreciated that so much. The service and vibes are very chill! They are popular for the burgers but that taco salad was on point! We did get the chips and queso as an appetizer and a little disappointed because the cheese was just a basic nacho cheese. The salsa was different with a tangy taste to it. I loved that part. Everything was very cool, I definitely want to come back and try their brunch on the weekend!

Solid pub grub experience. Divey atmosphere. Plenty of free parking. Service was friendly but a bit disjointed. Food was good value for quality. Kid friendly. Nice beer selection. Not a bad choice in area.

I wanted to enjoy some food and adult beverages on a patio. Tycoon flats was perfect for all these points. Our server was amazing - so attentive and friendly. The owner also stopped by to introduce himself and stayed busy talking to customers and clearing tables. They have a good beer menu and tasty shakes. For food, we ordered chips and queso (just okay) then each ordered a different burger for dinner. Our burgers were all actually cooked perfectly. Everything we ordered came out really fast. The patio is amazing- lots of space, lots of shade, and lots of fans.

We've been here probably 20 times at least. They have awesome burgers. The food is ALWAYS hot and fresh and the Tiger ranch is delicious with almost anything. They have great brunch drink specials too. The service is super hit or miss but everyone is always friendly. The music and vibe of this restaurant makes it such a great dining experience as well.

Do you love to eat, and I do mean eat gooot(ya feel me)as hell. I absolutely Love Love it here. One thing that's for sure you won't be disappointed, definitely not disappointed after my review. Enjoy ,enjoy !

Went in for lunch. I hadn't been in a hot minute but the food was super delicious! Ordered the fried veggies and they were so good. You have to ask for the orange/pink dip though. Our waiter was great and made some good recommendations on the choose two lunch special! We sat inside but there were plenty of people sitting outside with the fans and misters.

We had a work dinner. We had a great waitress. Burgers and appetizers were delicious. Sangrias were good!

It's been awhile since we've been here but we were in the neighborhood and decided to stop in. It was a Friday night so we figured we might have to wait but fortunately we made it in just before the rush. Our server was very pleasant, helpful and appropriately attentive. I ordered the jalapeño burger - a 1/3 lb burger with all the fixings plus pepperjack cheese, jalapeño peppers and bacon. The burger was perfectly prepared. Properly cooked and juicy and flavorful. The burger with all the other flavors was wonderful. I also had onion rings and they were perfectly prepared - nice and crispy on the outside but not burned. The sauce that they came with was the perfect flavor. My wife had the BBQ bacon cheeseburger and I had a few bites. This burger was also perfectly prepared and was juicy and flavorful. If we lived closer I imagine I'd weigh a lot more because every time we go we try something new and every time the food is spot on. Coupled with good service (our food came out remarkably fast, especially for a Friday) and you've got a winner. Keep up the great service and fantastic food!

First visit to Tycoon Flats in San Antonio, recommended by a friend. Shared fried mushrooms, onion rings, and a Ruben sandwich; mushrooms with ranch were a highlight, but the Ruben was lacking flavor. Nachos were huge and delicious. Mexican burger and cheeseburger for the main course were flavorful and substantial, while buffalo wings were a standout. Chicken strips needed more seasoning. Desserts were a hit, especially the cobbler and exceptional bread pudding, though the brownie was a bit hard. Service was okay, had to ask for things a few times. Unfortunately, we noticed a rat running along the top of the restaurant wall, which was unsettling. Stars 1 star for food 1/2 star for service. 1/2 star for facilities 1 star for easy parking on a Sunday evening. 1/2 for restrooms

Good overall experience. Not the best location. Decided to eat inside and was okay with the setting. Nothing grand about the outside area but very spacious. Service was fine and waiter was polite. Food was really good. I had the bacon cheeseburger with pineapple and mango. Great tasting and unexpectedly good combination. Extensive menu selection is available with burgers, salads, and sandwiches. I will most likely go back and try the Rueben Sandwich.

I can't believe with all of the times I've been to bars on the Saint Mary's strip, I've never thought to come to this place! I love the outside patio which seems to be their main area. So spacious and well heated for the cooler weather we currently have. I didn't catch our server's name, but he was kind, funny, and informative! The food was very good. I think I'll go for a classic cheeseburger next time because the one I got was a bit too messy for my liking lol! The bottom bun couldn't withstand everything going on above. I will say, it is a bit expensive, but we did get an appetizer and alcohol. However, businesses on Saint Mary's have been struggling since covid and then all of the construction the city implemented on that area? Incredibly unfair to all those businesses, so honestly, I understand the price a bit. Support businesses on the strip because a lot of them are not surviving! Don't let them be pushed out!

Food is amazing, drinks are great and service was awesome! Played trivia games against other tables and had a blast. Very fun experience!!!

Found this place while driving back to our hotel from the San Antonio Zoo. The food was delicious! We had the red onion rings and the Mexican Burger. Service was fast and friendly. I would recommend trying this place if you're in the area!

I recently had the pleasure of trying the Garlic Signature Burger, and I must say, it was a flavor explosion! This burger has earned its name, boasting an impressive garlic-infused flavor profile that complements its juicy patty perfectly.

Day tripping through San Antonio with a friend and he wanted to take me to one of his old favorite spots he had not been to in a long time so this was the place. Great location nice atmosphere and group for large groups.. We sat outside at one of the many picnic benches on the big outdoor patio which is covered with lots of shade from the big trees that cover it. This is a place I would bring friend for a good burger, good food, an amazing frozen Margarita and a good time to talk, catch up and laugh. The atmosphere is kid friendly and the wait staff is very attentive, nice and laid back. My burger was fixed to my liking and the fries were the right kind of crisp and softness. My frozen margarita tasted like the mix was made from scratch not from a pre mix (artificial sweeteners). It was very good. My friend had the frito pie burger and that was surprisingly yummy as well. My only sadness is that they were out of peach cobble for dessert so I went for the bread pudding with a whisky sauce. It was not bad but it was not to my liking. It had a crunch to it and too cinnamony-ish for me. But I would definitely be back and this is the type of laid back spot I would definitely bring a group. They have a pretty stacked bar so order away, beer, cocktails, shots, beverages (no problem)

A local one of a kind place that is great to sit and eat dinner. It was cool enough to eat outside, and just soak it all in. Our server took great care of us and our food came out quick. The onion rings were fantastic with a light batter and made with red onions rather than white. I love the bite they have. The kids loved their grilled cheese and mini tyke meals. My Ruben was great! That sauce on the side just brings it to the next level. The hubs like his Philly sandwich. We will be back with he kids, other family or just a date night.

I've been eating at Tycoon Flats since it first opened on St. Mary's Street before St. Mary's was the "strip." The names of the burgers have changed and the menu is more expansive, but it's still very good. The inside is small compared to the outside venue. But it's spaced out enough so you're not eating on top everyone. The backyard (where you eat outside) is great. It's roomy and the stage for live acts is awesome. It's kid friendly. Not sure about service animals. Overall, if you're in the mood for a great burger you can't go wrong here. But be warned! The place is great for BURGERS. If you want fish don't eat at a Burger place.

Absolutely loved this spot! Drinks were fantastic. While the lunch specials were great, going off-menu felt a bit pricey. The trio sliders and sweet potato fries were a hit. The honey barbecue burger was flavorful , but the warm avocado in the avocado, burger, which I may include is advertised fried did not didn't quite win me over. The star was definitely the pineapple burger - a flavor explosion. Exceptional service in this hidden gem. Can't wait to return! & Try some new options

Staff incredible! Knowledgeable about all aspects of their business and customer experience! If you show up on a busy ass Thursday, they take excellent care of you. Kristina and Lamar are INCREDIBLE! Working (with tenured skill) the ENTIRE patio, they rocked it! Kristina is a very knowledgeable person that just happens to be in a situation that allows YOU to avail yourself of her service. GO NOwW!

We loved the outdoor patio seating for us to eat as a family, service was quick and attentive. Perfect to eat at after the zoo if you have little kids. Just beware for up charges- frozen lime margarita is one price, but when you add a flavor it is $2 extra. They do advertise this as it was brought to my attention. I didn't look closely enough ‍ other than that, we had a great meal. I was contacted by owner/management about my confusion, so if you have a concern they seem very on top of things and quick to make sure you are treated right. Great restaurant and management

After doing some shopping we worked up an appetite. I suggested Tycoon Flats since it had been awhile since we last came in. They did some nice remodeling, nothing major but enough to where I noticed a slight difference. The outside layout is still the same but they have a nice greenery they didn't have before. They also put down a paper on your table with gives it that extra sanity feel. Upon arriving we were seated promptly, and give food and drink menu. There are plenty of options for everyone. The server Nicole was prompt and gave us enough time to look over our menu before we made our choices. My husband went with the veggie burger and a Micholada with a Miller lite beer; my best friend went with a Mexican burger with a frozen mimosa; and I ordered some bean and cheese nachos since I had a small craving for such with a draft beer. Our food was great! Everyone enjoyed their meal. It was hot, seasoned well, and plated nicely. When we came there wasn't too many people as I know sometimes parking can be a bit difficult. There is parking next to the restaurant but the lot itself is very limited. Either way I do enjoy coming here when I do. We always get great serve and food. If you get the chance drop by and have a bit. If you're able to come when it's a little darker out the lighting they have really has a romantic atmosphere. It's a nice place to come have some drink, and eat with good company.

Ambiance was nice since weather was good. Service was good too. Fried mushrooms delicious. Patron tequila delicious but served in plastic cups. They don't give military discount to veterans only active duty.

Had the day off today so much husband and I decided to venture into the city for lunch. We've been here before and man, the food is great every time! I couldn't decide on just 1 speciality burger so I had the Trio of minis. I think the cranberry feta was my favorite. Hubs had the country fried burger and he says it just like having a good breakfast. Our server, Lamar, was attentive and full of good advice (he suggested the trio!) and it was the perfect day to sit outside. The fans keep you from feeling too hot and it's a very cute space.

Group went after church, as we each paid our bill, the server informed us they didn't give change! We were shocked. His response was "I guess you don't go out to eat very much" We never went back.

The good was so amazing, service fantastic and atmosphere laid back! I didn't give it 5 stars because tater tots were overcooked. Well, be back on a weekend it seems like that area seems like a great place to hang out for a couple of drinks with friends!

There nothing better than going out to thru patio and having a drink. Everything we ate was delicious. The owner stopped by and had a chat with us. He was very friendly and gave us coupons for next time we come around.

Huge outdoor seating area so feel free to bring your pups. We came pretty much when they opened because I was afraid of the heat. However, they had fans going everywhere so it was ok. I think I will love this place when the weather cools down! If you need a quick cool down, go to the women's bathroom the one outside is freaking ice cold and fabulous. We wanted the fried pickles and the fried mushrooms so the waitress suggested the happy hour portion- what the hay, she said they want us to have what we wanted! She seemed very well versed on the menu and I appreciated that she had many favorites- this menu is huge btw. -Fried mushrooms/pickles pretty standard fair- the pickles had a zing of vinegar which I did enjoy -Southwest chicken panini- this was good- I would have enjoyed this more if the wrap was crispy -Honey barbecue bacon burger- so huge I couldn't get my mouth around it- husband liked it 4/5 -fries 5/5- fat and crispy

Service in the food are always amazing. These guys never disappoint and they treat you like family. Everything looks nice and pretty when you go to Tycoon Flats. They have outdoor seating which is always good to have a restaurant inside and out because it makes people feel at home with lots of TVs and an outdoor bar. It makes you feel like you're part of something more a community.

My sandwich was just as a Rueben sandwich should be -meaty and delicious inside; nice and toasty on the outside! TF didn't let me down when I had a sammich craving whilst in San Antone. Prompt service, by the way. They have lots of burgers to choose from which I'll try the next time I'm in the area. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of pros and only one con which was not their fault. Street construction. I can't wait for our next visit!
