This is a small but pleasant hotel close by the shore of Sørfjorden, a very beautiful fjord. The room itself was a little dated but the bathroom had been recently refurbished to a good standard. There is a large industrial building nearby but fortunately the room I had did not face this so did not get any noise and you cannot see it from the restaurant. If you can ignore this though it is a very beautiful location and you can watch the waterfalls down from the glacier to the fjord over your meals.||It is a good base for the Trolltunga walk and there are buses from a couple of minutes walk away each morning (a lot cheaper than the parking fee too). The hotel is well set up for this as breakfast is served from early in the morning so you won't be setting out hungry. That said I did ask for a packed lunch the previous evening but the staff the next morning had no record of it, which was a shame, but fortunately you can buy some food at the cafe at the car park for the walk.||The food at the restaurant is good, well presented and the staff friendly and attentive. There are lovely views from it, too. However the price is very high I thought and the choice quite limited (only 4 main courses which don't seem to change each day so if you are staying several nights that might be an issue as there is nowhere else to eat in the village).||I do recommend the area for a longer stay. There is a lot to see. I walked up to the glacier on the other side of the Fjord from the hotel which was strongly recommended, as well as cruises on the fjord and to Odda, Rosendal and Eidfjord all of which are easily accessible by buses from the hotel (though be aware the 991 bus from Voss seems to be usually late, by as much as 40 minutes one day, so do factor that in). Certainly an area that is worth exploring.

I’ve stayed at this hotel in Tyssedal six times already, and every visit has been amazing. The food is absolutely delicious. Huge compliments to the chef, who really knows his craft. The whole atmosphere of the place makes you feel instantly relaxed. The rooms are comfortable and well-kept, and the jacuzzi overlooking the fjord along with the sauna are just incredible. Perfect after a full day of activities – whether for business or leisure. Without a doubt, this is the best place around Trolltunga to rest and recharge. A perfect combination of comfort, great cuisine, and unforgettable views. Highly recommended!

Lovely hotel close to Trolltunga. The spa facilities were lovely — the sauna and jacuzzi have stunning views. The morning breakfast was absolutely delicious. Would love to come back sometime soon :)

Had a lovely stay at the hotel. Conveniently located a couple of minutes walk from the bus stop where both the Trolltunga shuttle(s) and the bus heading to/from Voss pickup/drop off. |Great views of the water from the hotel and the same view from inside the sauna made for such a relaxing summer evening. The staff were super friendly and always had a smile and a cheery manner to them. They were more than happy to answer any questions about Trolltunga trips and about other things to do in the local area too. |Overall I found it a really lovely place to stay for my trip. Many thanks to the team at Tyssedal Hotel!

Stellar service, with owners and staff passionate about offering the best possible experience. They know all the local attractions and are able to guide you. Personally, I loved the paintings, I felt like I was in an art gallery while I was enjoying delicious food prepared with passion and attention to detail. If you're looking to climb Trolltunga and want to have a unique, local experience, look no further.

It is a nice hotel. The view are insane. The breakfast is good, and its free! Some people complain about the factory, but you can't see it/hear it/smell it that much. It is like being in a very quiet city. The sauna is super fancy. For wheelchair users, this is totally inaccessible. Stairs to get into the hotel, stairs to get into the rooms. They do provide shower chairs, though. For the restaurant, it is expensive, and it designed for you to eat 3 courses, which would be 80-90 dollars. I would recommend the cauliflower, and not the fish.

This hotel exceeded all expectations! From spacious rooms with stunning views to exceptional staff, delicious food, and prime location, it's a no-brainer for Trolltunga hikers.||The staff's warm welcome and insider knowledge are invaluable. Rooms are immaculate, well-maintained, and feature impressive bathrooms.||Strategically located near grocery stores and bus stops connecting to Odda, Trolltunga, Voss, and more, making it perfect for weary hikers returning.||The food? Outstanding! Especially the bread and burnt butter - a highlight! 🤩||Overall, a resounding 5-star experience. Highly recommend for Trolltunga adventurers! 👍🏨

Yelp
We had a lovely stay here a few weeks ago! The staff was all very nice. The view of the fjord was absolutely stunning. And a great location for hiking Trolltunga! They packed a lunch for the hike for us. We ate dinner in their restaurant one night and it was absolutely amazing! An incredible experience. Would recommend to anyone for their stay in Odda!

Yelp
Nice, clean, and via Airbnb, inexpensive! I got the hostel-like room with shared bathroom. It had 4 beds, though I just needed the one. It would have been so cheap to share it! No competition for the bathroom or shower, though it was the end of the high season. I stayed 2 nights. Dinner is limited if you're a vegetarian, but breakfast is great and included for regular hotel guests, extra for the Airbnb room. Free wifi, bus to trolltunga comes at something like 645 and 745, so be aware! Hotel staff misinformed me the night before.

Yelp
Room are clean with the nice view. Only reminder is if you happen to come in late like me they lock the entrance so you have to call the security on duty to open the door for you. If they do not answer because they are in the basement , honk honk the horn to get their attention.
