Tyssedal Hotel

Lovely place to stay. Facilities were great, including the free sauna. Heated floors in the bathrooms. Beds are big with plenty of pillows and blankets. Dinner was also incredibly tasty and reasonable priced for the quality.

Cannot recommend staying here unfortunately - the rooms are tiny and minimally furnished, no elevator to get to the top floor. Couldn't open the window to enjoy the view or fresh air because of some noisy factory right in front of the hotel that was sending up steam or smoke all night. Checked out a day early because I just couldn't get comfortable here at all. Staff were friendly though and the breakfast was good.

My family stayed at this hotel and the family room was enough for five adults. Location is good if you intend to hike to Trolltunga. The facilities (which includes a sauna) are pretty maintained and the hotel staff are overall hospitable. Special shoutout to Marco at frontdesk for being very accommodating. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

So impressed with this hotel and the staff. We stayed here for a few nights as our base for hiking Trolltunga. The staff are so accommodating- from booking months in advance, through our arrival and our stay. There is a little grocery store around the corner and a beautiful sauna that was recently built. It was the perfect way to unwind. The on site restaurant was on of the best meals we had on our whole trip through Norway. We were blown away with the quality of the meal. Outstanding hospitality!

Old hotel located in Tyssedal near Odda. The hotel is built right in the middle of a fjord with Folgefonna national park to the west, which offers some amazing views from the hotel. The rooms are old, our bathroom was very modern though. The food at the hotel restaurant is not that great, veggies are served raw and the fries seem to come out of an airfryer or something. Not really worth the money. There is a titanium factory right in front of the hotel, the air smells like sulphur. Staff is very friendly and mean well, but the place really needs an update.

Great location as close to the drive up to Trolltunga as possible. Very good breakfast buffet and lovely sauna. Only drawback is no elevator if you’re bringing large suitcases.

Great location if you want to do Trolltunga, otherwise not great because of the noise for the industry just in front of the hotel and you have to drive everywhere. We had a family room for five people. It is actually very small once the extra beds are pulled out. Staff were friendly but we had a bad experience. The shower/toilet blocked so the shower flooded and we could not use it. They could not fix it and it smelled really bad. We asked for a discount on the second night when it happened and they said of course, but we cannot do it now, we will get back to you… they never did.

Lovely stay for hiking trolltunga! Beautiful sauna, even had a dryer for our wet clothes post hike. Great breakfast.

We had a lovely stay here a few weeks ago! The staff was all very nice. The view of the fjord was absolutely stunning. And a great location for hiking Trolltunga! They packed a lunch for the hike for us. We ate dinner in their restaurant one night and it was absolutely amazing! An incredible experience. Would recommend to anyone for their stay in Odda!

Nice, clean, and via Airbnb, inexpensive! I got the hostel-like room with shared bathroom. It had 4 beds, though I just needed the one. It would have been so cheap to share it! No competition for the bathroom or shower, though it was the end of the high season. I stayed 2 nights. Dinner is limited if you're a vegetarian, but breakfast is great and included for regular hotel guests, extra for the Airbnb room. Free wifi, bus to trolltunga comes at something like 645 and 745, so be aware! Hotel staff misinformed me the night before.

This place is like being home. It's run by a beautiful family that exude hospitality and welcome. It is the perfect place to stop before and after your Trolltunga Hike.

Room are clean with the nice view. Only reminder is if you happen to come in late like me they lock the entrance so you have to call the security on duty to open the door for you. If they do not answer because they are in the basement , honk honk the horn to get their attention.
