U Casanu

This is one of the best restaurants in the world. My son and I dined here tonight. We each had a Cap Corse Blanc to start, then terrine figatellu and a cold pea soup with chevre. Amazing. Our entrees were a veal sausage and braised beef cheek. The 50cl Corsican vin rouge was delicious. We were so full, no room for dessert, but we managed to enjoy a liqueur de myrte as a digestif. Go here!

Lovely small restaurant with an equally small menu (that's a good thing!). Delightful staff, incredible food and lovely atmosphere. Can't recommend enough Starts to liven up at around 8pm

Very nice and local restaurant with very good food. We had the Octopus salad, which was very tasty and the mixed fried vegetables. Our daughter had the corsican veal with olives and the chocolate souffles

Great looking local restaurant, with great service, food and wine, definitely give it a go when you're passing through Calvi.

■ 5 stars for the amazing food, I think you cannot go wrong here, doesn't matter what you order. Limited selection of options on the menu, usually a good sign, mostly seafood so if you are not into that (like me) not a lot to choose from. ■ Waiter was very friendly and could explain everything in English, he was very busy serving all the tables so on a busy evening, you may need some patience. Food was served quickly though. ■ Location of the terrace is not that good, 2 or 3 stars for that, next to a street with the occassional motorbike/car racing by. Quality of the food made up for that if you ask me, but there are nicer places to sit in the area.

While we found the indoor seating is a slight bit cramped we chose this option as the interior was air conditioned. The service was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The menu was much more interesting and authentic than most other restaurants in the area. We found that what we selected was probably the best food we tasted in all of our stops in Corsica, especially the grilled octopus which was the house specialty. Our compliments to the chef and to the hostess. We definitely recommend this restaurant to those who search for Corsican specialities that go beyond the usual offerings.

All 5 stars and well deserved. Dont be shy to go in when you dont any speak french. They are lovely and take care that you will get the best food with all the vocabulary they have!
