The U Chiang Mai is a lovely hotel in a perfect location in Old Town Chiang Mai. The entrance and lobby area is very charming and the staff is very friendly, professional and attentive. Pool area is great and some room categories have a private pools as well. Breakfast buffet offers great variety and fresh food. The rooms are very spacious and feature a balcony (not all room types), however it is evident that the rooms are a bit older and could benefit from refurbishments some time soon. Also, watch your step during rainy weather, some paths within the hotel can get very slippery! Overall, can recommend

We arrived at this hotel early this morning after travelling from Bangkok on the overnight train. Nothing has been too much trouble. The hotel is a little oasis hidden away in the old town, from the moment you arrive you can feel the calmness and tranquility. We visited the rooftop bar in the evening, Louis made us feel very welcome and we ordered some delicious cocktails, buy one get one free. On Sunday the street becomes a big walking market and the rooftop bar is located perfectly for people watching. Very impressed.

i stayed here two nights with my kids and it became one of the most beautiful memories in my life. all stuffs here are so nice and friendly whole day, smiling and welcoming. The hotel located at very center, close to a famous temple but it was comfortably silent. All amenities i need can be ordered with my phone in my room, including water. It was very convenient. Breakfast was more then enough.Food was fresh and tasty. I felt very cozy at my balcony with my kids. Thank you everyone being so nice to us. I will definitely come back again.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our honeymoon. Highlights include clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast, nice facilities including the pool. Best of all, the location can’t be beat. It’s walking distance to so many beautiful temples and on the same street as the night market. My only feedback is that the app they had us download was quite finicky, the wifi kept making us log in every time we came back, and our in room phone didn’t work to call the front desk.

We had a wonderful stay at U Chiang Mai Hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and had direct access to the pool, which was a great bonus. The lady at reception was warm and welcoming, making check-in smooth and pleasant. The overall ambiance of the hotel is peaceful and relaxing, perfect for a getaway in Chiang Mai. The restaurant at U Chiang Mai serves delicious and flavorful food. Every dish we tried was fresh and beautifully presented. A special thanks to Nim and Well from the restaurant staff—they were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our meals. The service was quick, and the atmosphere was cozy, making dining here a real pleasure.

Such a lovely hotel, in a fantastic location in the old part of the city of Chiang Mai. The rooms were lovely, free drinks from the room mini bar. Lovely calm pool (although a little on the small side). Surrounded by great restaurants. Breakfast was limited, but still a range to enjoy. Staff were so helpful and friendly.

Lovely place with super helpful and attentive staff. Perfect location to walk and calmer than some other busier ones nearby. The rooms were well equipped and we really appreciated the free drinks. The breakfast is excellent and varied. The staff was great including Nim Pha Eye and her team. They even helped us park our car which was a very nice touch. Overall we would stay here again. :) Some feedback for the hotel team and easy wins to truly make it 5 stars: - The pillows could be improved, they flattened too much during the night becoming hard - Adding privacy features to the balcony area would be a great addition. It felt too open and not private at all - The pool area could be made more welcoming with plants and landscaping additions - A small and low night light in the bathroom would be great - The shower temperature was hard to get right

We spent 4 nights in this beautiful calm oasis in a deluxe pool access room. The location is unbeatable, and we enjoyed the Sinday night market right outside the hotel. When you are inside, you can't hear any of the street noises. It feels zen.||We loved the pool access room which gives direct access to a shallow, narrow pool that is adjacent to the main pool.| Our room was at the end and very private, with windows on one wall and the patio on the other side. It had a couch, chair and side table that we set up to dine. My friend visited in February and said the pool wasn't used. When we were there, it was being enjoyed just the right amount. People used the loungers and the pool but it was not crowded and still felt calm, and fellow guests were friendly.||The room service was good, came quickly and offered thai, western and even low carb options. The breakfast had both a small buffet and a menu to order a la carte and the food was good quality, and fast. The croffles are amazing. I noticed they were very flexible about letting people customize what they wanted from the menu. ||The service was friendly and helpful throughout. When we ordered Grab Eats (like Uber eats) and the khao soi was delivered in plastic bags (which is normal, we just didnt know), the hotel then provided us beautiful proper bowls to use. When my son felt unwell, they helped me find a pharmacy still open, which turned out to be a few doors down with a very good pharmacist on duty at 9pm.||The room itself was gorgeously decorated, and very stylish. The bathroom is very large, nicely decorated, great shower, luxurious tub with amenities, lots of storage, and has dim lighting.||I loved that it has a heritage building attached. The reading room of the former Governor's residence is worth visiting. ||The app you set up on arrival to communicate with the front desk and housekeeping works well and was convenient. ||There are many places with a step up or down in the public area and to the room and into the bathroom. ||It is a very relaxing place to stay, in the heart of everything.
