U Chiang Mai Hotel

A beautiful hotel. Do not be misled by the location. When you pull up to the hotel you do t realise its beauty until you walk in. Service is excellent. Doesn’t have a lift but the concierge take your bags to the room. Also it’s not a huge hotel - only 4 floors. Restaurant and open top bar are excellent. The location is in the heart of the old town where it’s not commercialised. Great food and restaurants all around the hotel. Fabulous experience, fabulous people and hospitality

Nice hotel in the middle of Chiang Mai. Good to start and explore the city. Rooms are bit older but overall nice atmosphere and felt authentic. Breakfast was good as well - small but you have good options to choose from the menu to order. They were also very flexible to make adjustments if you wanted to have sth on top which was not on the menu. Really great experience!

There was just something about this place that felt different from the moment we walked in. Out of everywhere we stayed in Thailand, this was hands down my favorite. The hotel has such a calm, tucked-away energy while still being right in the heart of everything. It feels intimate and peaceful — like a quiet retreat hiding inside the Old City. The courtyard, the pool, the warm lighting at night… it all creates this relaxed, grounded atmosphere that makes you slow down and just be. What truly elevated the stay though was the staff — especially Rainbow and Sara. They were beyond kind, welcoming, and attentive. Every interaction felt genuine, not transactional. You can tell when people actually care about hospitality, and they absolutely do. They made us feel seen and taken care of in the best way. After traveling all over Thailand, catching flights and hopping between destinations, this was the place that felt the most peaceful and complete. If I ever find myself back in Chiang Mai, I wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else. Highly, highly recommend.

Situated on one of the main streets of Chiang Mai old town, you would think it might be too loud or chaotic. But the owners have managed to create an oasis of calmness and quiet. The hotel incorporates the old Governor’s house so it has a lot of character; lots of dark wood and shady areas but not gloomy in any way. We were warmly greeted , offered a seat, a welcome drink and some handmade soap to use during our stay! Our room was clean and well equipped, good air conditioning and all the comforts you would expect from a good hotel. The pool area is small - this is not somewhere you come if you just want to hangout at the pool all day - although you could if you wanted to! We found the pool to be rather cold and a bit too refreshing from the heat of the day. I expect this is because the pool area is quite well protected from the sun so doesn’t heat up much. The breakfast was good quality and efficient but not a huge choice from the buffet, but good choices from the menu. The restaurant attached to the hotel is good but I think there are better (and cheaper) to be found just moments away. ||||As with most Thai hotels and Thai people in general, the staff are kind, helpful and thrilled to be able to help you make the most of your visit. ||||||I liked that you could have two drinks from the minibar for free per night you stay which is not something you find very often and a lovely touch.||||I think this is an ideal place to stay in the old city and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Outstanding service! Peaceful and lovely environment! Knowledgeable and friendly staff. The cooking class was amazing! We highly recommend it! The instructor for the cooking class was patient and helped us through every step so that our meal turned out amazing. We had the five course training and it may have been the best meal we’ve had in Thailand lol! Wonderful location, wonderful food, wonderful staff.

Customer service was top tier as soon as we walked in. We were greeted by staff with some yummy tea. We downloaded their app where you can schedule spa appointments, order room service, chat with the staff, submit requests, find suggested activities to do in the area, etc. The hotel itself was beautiful. Nice boutique style with sleek clean rooms. We got a massage during our stay. It was a 90 min Thai massage and it was “Amazing”!!! The best massage I’ve ever had. Wed been doing a lot of walking and my entire body was tense from head to toe. After that massage I felt no pain. We ate breakfast twice and checked out their rooftop bar. Food and drinks were delicious. The hotel is centrally located in old town, which was perfect for us. There’s temples near by, markets and lots of eateries. 10/10 highly recommend!!

The location was incredible. Located right in the heart of the old quarter, it was easy to walk to many places even those outside of the tourist zone. The staff was responsive and quick, but I wonder how happy they are there. Our biggest disappointments were 1) the water turned cold after 10 minutes. We even turned off the water while we scrubbed and only used it to rinse. For a place that is advertised as luxury and comes with a higher price tag, I could have had better luck showering at a hostel. Two of us girls stayed here for four nights and this was unacceptable. Especially given we went on a 12 mile all day hike yesterday and desperately needed to wash ourselves before bed. The water turned cold within 5 minutes and even 30 minutes later hadn’t heated up for my friend. 2) we made the mistake of ordering room service on that same night bc we were too tired to go out after our long day and lack of shower. The room service food was not great (worst food we’ve had in Southeast Asia) and the price is so high. As an example, our room service meal cost $43.00 ISD compared to what we had been spending ($5-16 total for both of us at neighboring restaurants).

The hotel is located at a perfect spot and has a beautiful, minimalistic charm. We arrived on a Sunday and were lucky to experience the nearby night market, which was vibrant and enjoyable. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, and the overall service was excellent. The hotel staff truly deserve a special mention — they were incredibly warm, welcoming, and an absolute delight throughout our stay. The breakfast spread was generous with plenty of options, and they even packed breakfast for us on a day we had an early checkout, which was very thoughtful. The hotel also provided bicycles, which we used to explore the old city temples — a lovely experience. We opted for a massage at the hotel as well, and it was deeply relaxing. This hotel truly added to the wonderful memories we made in Chiang Mai, and we will definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit. Highly recommended.
