A wonderful surprise in the heart of Warsaw! Despite its popularity, U Fukiera was not overcrowded, which made for a calm and enjoyable dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious – generous portions with authentic, traditional Polish flavors. At the same time, the presentation was creative and refined, like the elegant glass used for the tartar. A perfect blend of tradition and high cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience Polish food at its best!

I’m on a personal mission, to treat myself the way I wish to be treated. I was recommended this restaurant as a really special experience and well it lived up to the hype. Valentin, the waiter serving our section was incredible! He knew everything about the wines, was making great suggestions on food - for sure, he knows his stuff, not only that but I overheard him telling the table behind me about the history of the building too! You can tell that he is someone who cares about the customer experience because he really does uphold that high quality. The food - well, I was recommended the half duck and it didn’t disappoint. Tender on the inside, crispy on the outside, paired with the baked apple, with beetroot and kopytka on the side, absolutely delicious. I like duck, but this was by far the best duck I’ve ever eaten. The building itself is incredible, and the decor - I love it! Restaurants now seem to prefer the clinical minimalist look, I would eat at Fukiera every week - I love its eccentric style, it’s over the top, it’s making a statement. It’s truly a special place, with special people serving special food! I will 100% without a doubt, return some day.

The duck was outstanding easily the star of the meal. The olive oil shrimp and steak were both excellent. The Caesar salad was the best of all the salads. Even the fish was nicely done. Great food all around.

My first dinner in Warsaw that set the bar for the very high standards on my trip! Valentin was extremely knowledgeable, and his warmth and professionalism were perfectly balanced; I felt right at home! The food was wonderful too! I had goat stuffed pierogis, and cod with veggies and edible flowers. It was the perfect spot outdoors to enjoy the beautiful square, people watching and front seat view of the houses and mermaid fountain. AMAZING dining experience!

We were lucky to get a table at this beautiful restaurant without a reservation — and even got a cozy spot outside! The outdoor seating is absolutely stunning, with live flowers all around, creating a truly charming and relaxing atmosphere. The location is perfect — right in the heart of the Old Town, ideal for a break during sightseeing. The food was delicious! We ordered a traditional Polish veal soup and 6 dumplings (pierogi) for one person. What we didn’t expect was how huge the portions would be — definitely enough for two! It would’ve been helpful if someone had mentioned that in advance. Our waitress, Polina, was incredibly friendly and polite, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended if you’re in the area — just make sure to come with an appetite!

This place is an experience! I visited the restaurant "U Fukiera" in Warsaw and was very impressed with the quality of the food. The dishes are excellent and traditionally prepared. You can also enjoy great wine with recommendations from the waiters. The waiters were kind, although we waited a bit to be served, which I think was because it was very busy. The moving space is a bit tight, so I wouldn't recommend it for wheelchair users. The bathrooms are located in the basement and are very nicely decorated. Overall, I highly recommend U Fukiera to anyone looking for an authentic culinary experience in Warsaw

Google
Had dinner inside with my mom at this amazing place yesterday. There are no kind enough words to describe Valentine as our waiter. Dumplings were big, hot, and delicious. We were also instructed on how to traditionally eat a Polish soup. Main meal arrived in huge portions on tasty baked potatoes that we couldn’t even finish. Valentine guided us to choose the best wine to our taste and had regularly visited our table. All the best recommendations and definitely coming back!

Google
The oldest restaurant in Warsaw and full of expected character. I chose to book in advance to secure a table inside. The welcome was warm and always responsive to our menu and wine list questions. The food was high quality and well complimented by the choice of Polish red wine.

Yelp
I had to try a Michelin star place during my business trip in Poland. My colleague took me on a quick tour around old town and this place was in the center so we decided to eat here! The seared foie gras had a bitter taste to it but I still really enjoyed the textured. We had all the variety of piorgis! I was so excited to be able to try all of them! The fried pork chop was HUGE, it was 2x my head we couldn't finish this at all. We also had the risotto, which was good! I'm amazed how affordable this meal was compared to the states. It came out to be $90 for two people! We were beyond stuffed and my coworker took the leftovers home.

Yelp
Truly, one of the best meals I had in my travel through Europe... The service was outstanding and the ambience was just excellent in the courtyard. My waiter was terrific.

Yelp
The food at this place is delicious! Prob the best veal cutlet I've ever had in my life. The potatoes were so crispy and buttery as well, and the mizeria salad was very refreshing. Friendly staff, great bread and dip for the table. Old school ambiance and a lovely dinner.. would recommend to go here to try some local cuisine! PS. Portions are insane! One main dish is more than enough for two people..

Yelp
So so good. We split the duck done to perfection. Crispy skin and enough. The ambience is just delightful all around. Such a sweet and accommodating waiter(who was also a tennis pro) staff and service. We got lucky to see the owner who sat beside us and apparently is a little more than famous in Poland for cleaning up the restaurant industry. Like Gordon Ramsey. Just marvelous. Yum

Yelp
We (3 of us) ventured into the square to see "Syrenka", the symbol of Warsaw, and all of a sudden we all felt a bit peckish. Looking around, U Fukiera stood out. It had once received a Michelin star, had beautiful entrance clad with seasonal flowers, and a reasonable menu. We sat inside, but outside in a small courtyard. Lovely. All tables had crisp white table cloths and cloth napkins. The table settings were lovely inside. Our waiter was friendly, chill, and knew how to recommend the menu. We ordered starters and drinks. The starters are substantial - like, a whole meal substantial. 3 starters filled us up to the rim, and I did not even have the pierogi (not GF). The herring was very good. The chanterelles in sauce were delicious - in season right now, and very well prepared. Drinks were good. Music was horrible. Please consider something TOTALLY different. Good for groups, romantic dates, and in-between snacks alike.

Michelin star deserved! Had steak tartare and taste and presentation outstanding. Service and price nice

Yelp
Located in old town of Warsaw, walkable from our hotel, this place is highly recommended for it is very approachable for Americans. Apparently lots of Americans have visited here which is a plus because we wanted something that the kids will enjoy. I have been effectively on the road for months, traveling south and north of China, and then Cambodia before hitting the plane to Warsaw, I was a bit delirious at this point so imagine my surprise when they presented me with a menu that rocked my world. It has all sorts of "weird" dishes. For instance, tripe soup. fried kidneys. varies meat dumplings. local beef tartare. Imagine that I'm in food heaven. This restaurant hits the spot. I had the local beef tartare which is simply divine. The tripe soup is somewhat similar to the ones I had in Swabia, Germany. Stuttgart has a version of it which is amazing and this is similar which I was happy about. Finally the fried kidney is the best I've ever had. The kids had lots of fish and dumplings. I had so much dumplings that I couldn't finish and I had to take some home. We sat at the courtyard which was lovely. I loved everything about this restaurant and would recommend others to check it out when in Warsaw. Very inexpensive for Americans.

Yelp
U Fukiera is located right on the main market square of Warsaw's Old Town, a playground for tourists. Usually, a restaurant like this wouldn't be high on my list of places to visit, but I must say.. the atmosphere of U Fukiera is by far the most beautiful of any restaurant I've ever visited so far! The romantic setting is decked with candles, antiques, mirrors, chandeliers, tablecloths--I even saw a parrot sitting in a cage! And despite this place being a "splurge" by Polish standards, it's still an absolute steal for Western European or American standards! After starting with some bread and extremely airy, whipped butter, we moved right into our main courses. I had the whole trout, which had been marinated in a dill cucumber brine, stuffed with pickles, and baked in pastry. It was served with two baked potatoes on the side, and though the fish was quite bony, it made for a delicious seafood option. We also got the half duck roasted Polish style--this was a HUGE portion that was more than enough to share--the duck was extremely tender and flavorful, and on the bottom sat a thick gravy that added a lot of flavor to the already meaty, flavorful poultry. In the bowl also came a baked Antonov apple, which had been cored and stuffed with a jam-like filling; there were also three pieces of what tasted like fried gnocchi--chewy dumplings made from potato! Yes, the food here was definitely good, but if for nothing else, come see the romantic setting that U Fukiera has to offer--order right, and you won't even have to walk away with a "splurge" restaurant bill!

Yelp
Stroke of pure luck. This restaurant was advertised in the Lot Airlines magazine and located close to our hotel. One of the best meals in 30 odd years of travel. The food, wine and the after-dinner cognac were first rate. The atmosphere changes from room to room. We were seated in the red room. It was fabulous. Service was excellent. A dinner for three with starters and a great bottle of red was less than an average meal stateside. But the food..... DAMN! The Polish steak tartare is not to be missed. The lamb chops were PERFECT. The goulash was amazing. A great dining experience. Not to be missed when in town.

Yelp
What a whimsical little place to enjoy a nice meal in Warsaw! It's fun to walk through one charming and unique room after another. One of the oldest restaurants in Warsaw still standing. To be honest, the food was probably the part that could use a little work. The zurek (soup) was extremely salty, and the pierogis (veal) had no texture to them. Strong wifi and excellent service. Worth stopping by if you're eating in the square. Pricey for Poland.

Yelp
Beautiful place. I liked the atmosphere but have to say that most of us ordered fish and non meat dishes and they were just ok. My son ordered the duck and he loved it. I would come for the history and atmosphere

Yelp
This is a well known establishment with a beautiful presentation, great quality of ingredients and lovely service. The food is traditional polish cuisine, but with an elegant vibe. Great selection on the menu and it is lovely to introduce foreign guests to polish food with an ambience and sophistication. Beautiful.

Yelp
Need reservations!! Quaint historical place in the old town! Gotta do it once and n your lifetime!

Yelp
CHARMING!! The only thing that comes to mind about this place. It is located in the middle of the touristic squares in old town. The dark and antique decor alone draws you in. I personally panic in cluttered environments, but this place was just too adorable. The food was surprisingly good as well. The pierogi were the best we've had in Poland this far. The lamb chops were tasty, but the stand out of the night were the lobster crepes on the savory side and the hazelnut waltz cake. Made for a very enjoyable experience

Yelp
I read mixed reviews on Fukier. I had made reservations months before visiting Poland, and I actually considered canceling our reservations after reading some negative reviews on google maps and trip advisor. I'm glad I did not. Great food and great service. Additionally, prices are not high. They may be high for Poland, but they are very reasonable for a large city (we live near Tokyo). Our entire meal, (3 people), a bottle of wine and appetizer cost us less than $200 (equivalent). The Lithuanian dumpling appetizer was delicious! (Try with the butter). Our entrees consisted of the breaded veal fillet, lamb chops, and duck breast. All were perfect and delicious. Our server was very attentive. The decor was interesting. And the Old Town is right out the door. I say, "go!"

Yelp
U Fukiera is a fancy restaurant on the Main Square in the Old Town. It's run by a celebrity restaurateur. As can be expected, it's rather pricey--not insanely so though. The food is old-school Polish: meat, fish, and games in large quantity. I had the pork cutlet. In the menu it was described as "monstrous". And indeed it was. I don't know from what mutant hog they cut out such a huge chunk of meat. While the quality of the food is beyond reproach, I can't say that I enjoyed the atmosphere here. The decor of U Fukiera is comically gaudy. Baroque might be the word I'm looking for. It feels like the residency of some old hag jilted at the altar. Likewise, the wait staff exhibits the sternness of an eccentric spinster's butler. It all felt a bit odd to me. Very "Old Europe".

Bethra S.

Yelp
Based on some other reviews I was iffy about this place. First off, if you're some kind of business people that are used to a more generic environment when you eat you will not like the decor. If you have any appreciation for vintage and antique items, you're going to love it. The collection is wonderful and well staged. Next for food. I ordered the foie gras starter and the duck breast main course. Both where excellent. I order foie gras any time I see it on any menu, so I've had it prepared MANY different ways. This was in my top two. It's savory and sweet and the texture mix really did it. It's also the largest portion of meat I've ever been served. The duck breast was equally well prepared and delicious. The service was attentive without being annoying. Go here! Really, it's lovely.

Yelp
Very traditional Polish restaurant - makes you feel like your visiting grandma for dinner: lace, fake flowers, bird cage (including bird), lots of wood, etc. A nice menu, albeit pricey. The herring was amazing served with pickled cucumbers. The house cured meats was very generous. The veal pierogis served with crispy pork rind were overstuffed, moist and tasty. The sour mushroom soup with white sausage was delicious! It's right on the main square in the center of old town, so very convenient and not at all touristy! Service was very dry, almost unfriendly (minus 1 star).

Yelp
We really enjoyed this place. We ate here twice while we were in Warsaw. Each time we got the mushrooms to start. They were just so so good. We tried them both with olive oil and garlic and with cream sauce. My husband loved the lamb and I loved the Zander. Also the typical polish soup there is very good. Those would definitely be the things I would recommend. Very very romantic setting as well. Try to get a seat on the terrace. Also try to read what the menu says about the history of the place too. Very interesting.

Yelp
Incredible!! The food was amazing and the decor was beautiful. We ordered a lot of food and a bottle of wine and I didn't feel that it was over priced at all.

Yelp
This is one of your best options if you're looking for a venue that harks back to the olden days, and its location on the Old Town Square certainly adds to the appeal. A fin-de-siecle decor sets the tone, with thick velvet curtains and plenty of tastefully chosen antiques. As you might imagine, you'll have to pay correspondingly aristocratic prices. However, its a reliable choice, with excellent traditional Polish cuisine. Popular with visiting dignitaries.

Yelp
This nice spot on the old marketplace Rynek Starego Miasta is a delight to experience exquisite polish cuisine. I had the pink duck breast , which was served with red cabbage and potatoes on a bed of cassis confit. It was delicious. Paired with the wine a burgundy red it was heaven on earth. A place definitely to be revisited.

Yelp
Gold plated pancake Beware of the price of the pancake. It comes with caviar but it equates to about $20.00 for two small pancakes and bad service. Many other options that are better!
google avatar

Pablo C.

Yelp
Great traditional Eastern Europe food, good attentive service, but the kitchen can take a very long time to get your dishes out (even with the place almost empty)
google avatar

Bob M.

Yelp
This is a beautiful restaurant with nice ambience perfect for a date. The food was decent but over priced for what you're getting. Also, I really didn't appreciate the host lying to me... "Oh, you have no reservation? Okay, I can seat you but with time limit until 8 (it was 6)". I left at 7:45 and the restaurant was only 10% full. I had the Lithuanian dumplings (good flavor but over salted for me) and the grilled duck breast which was cooked perfectly but could have used more seasoning.
google avatar

Yevgen C.

Yelp
Very poor service. Brought raw tenderloin instead of well-done, cold water instead of room temperature. Waited around 40 minutes for that without many visitors inside.

GP R.

Yelp
There were formerly 5 restaurants with cellars in the Old Town square. U Fukiera is the last one remaining. The cuisine is Polish food at its best and the service was several notches better than in many Polish restaurants. Every dish we had was better than "good" - the kitchen was having a very good evening for us. We had the roasted Goose and the Zanker (pike) - both were made with great ingredients, well cooked with good flavors all around. We very much enjoyed the meal. It was a bit pricey for Poland, but had 2 glasses of champagne and a bottle of wine along with 3 courses.

Vicki S.

Yelp
I know everyone says to eat at this restaurant. It has been there a long time. The waiter recommended the duck. It was heavy, greasy, and terrible! My husband ordered the fried veal. It was not particularly good. The next day we became sick from the food. The service was good. However, I cannot recommend this restaurant!
google avatar

Ruediger R.

Yelp
Higher cuisine, but not the highest quality. Nice and romantic atmosphere and also fitting for business dinner with your best customers or partners. I would recommend it but be aware, it is pricy. Polish food - very heavy but tasty. Tries to be a place for upper class customers.

Propell 1.

Yelp
Food poisoning. Two of us were heavily poisoned at this restaurant. When reaching out to explain our experience, they offered an apple cake the next time we visit Warsaw. Stay away from this place! We will not be coming back - try Stolica round the corner, much better.
google avatar

Yukari T.

Yelp
Great staff, nice atmosphere... Bit crowded with lots of various decorations. Many famous people have visited this restaurant and it's in the heart of Old Town Square.
