Marie is a hostel located very much centrally in Olomouc, a few minutes' walk from all the sights, which is definitely a boon. Rented it due to the combo of the location and the very solid price, as I needed just a place to crash, without many bells and whistles. The check-in was painless, English spoken, and on top of my luggage I got all the sheets and was pointed to the upper floor. Bit tricky, but hey. My option was a bed in a two-bed room, with the risk of someone else and random getting the other bed if it was crowded (it wasn't thankfully). Great for two friends traveling I'd say. A small fridge was definitely a boon for a hostel if I remember correctly. It was facing the street but I didn't get that much noise from there. The cleanliness seemed fine. Weirdly, when I made my bed, I discovered that the sheets were wrong - no way the fitted sheet could fit the not very big mattress. Not wanting to tear anything, I used it as a flimsy cover for the mattress, but... eh. Didn't have sleeping issues, until, at 7 in the morning, I was woken up by some idiots who decided to hang around close to the entrance of my room, on the staircase, talk loudly and play Youtube videos, learning the hard way that the sound isolation towards the corridor is non-existent. Well, in a way a risk of cheap stay, but not wanting to wake up anyone else (as I'm fairly sure some shouting would've been necessary), I survived until they moved. I also learned the hard way that the 1m+1f toilet per floor is simply not enough in the pre-check out hour(s), as the male one was unavailable for a good hour. Ended up using the one on the bottom floor after checking out (nobody there, but they count on that and you can throw the key in a container). A solid 3.5 I'd say considering the price, but sadly, I can't give a 4, as its "deficiencies" did cause me discomfort in the end. I will, however, give it another shot and will hopefully raise the score. It might be just the matter of some of the other guests for most of it. And definitely a recommendation for traveling on a budget!

It is open up to 6pm so it is impossible to come and take a rest in the evening.

We had a great stay here (stayed 5 nights). The place was affordable and offered all necessities. Keep in mind the bathrooms are across the hall, not in your room. Our room had two beds facing each other. The location for this hotel is EXCELLENT. Short walk to Dolni Namesti (Lower Square) which is considered downtown together with adjacent Horni Namesti (Upper Square). Great restaurants on both squares nearby (5 min walk). Staff friendly and place was clean. Would stay again.

Great location. Clean comfy and friendly staff. There was a communal kitchen and I was able to use the washing machine. Staff was always helpful. The only negative was that my room faced the main road which was a bit noisy so if you prefer a quiet room ask for one at the back. On the plus it was about 2 min walk into the old town square. Had a market close by and lots of bars restaurants and parks in the surrounding area. I would definetly stay again.

Hotel standard rooms (shared bathrooms though) with youth hostel service (i. e. only the common areas get cleaned and you have to make up your own beds), but lower-than-hostel prices. A great location in a clean and welcoming building. I would definitely stay again. Friendly and helpful reception, well-equipped kitchen.||||This feels like a students' halls of residence and the facilities are more or less what you would expect in one - the rooms and kitchen offer enough storage to live here for a full year. ||||Walkable from the train station at a stretch, although I would reccommend taking the tram to Okresni Soud instead (very good connections). ||||The price really could not be beaten - a much lower standard would still have warranted a reasonably good rating at this price.

Clean basic room in tidy hostel a couple of minutes walk from the center of Olomouc. I was allowed into my room early in the morning and staff were happy for me to leave my luggage after check out. Shared toilet and shower room were clean and I didn't have to wait to use them. I didn't use the kitchen area but it was tidy and had what you would need in a hostel. There is no lift in the hostel (as advertised) so you need to lift your cases up the stairs. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. The hostel is about 30 minutes walk from the train station or a few minutes on the tram. Olomouc is a pretty town and well worth a visit.

The receptionists are very friendly and speak English perfectly. A cheap and clean hostel very close to the city center. There is a well equipped kitchen and also a washing machine for common use. Recommend for short stays in Olomouc.

This is very much a budget hostel - it's dirt cheap but that means you're not paying for much! ||There were lots of aspects of our stay that I was happy to chalk up to the low price - there's no elevator, you have to make your own beds, the showers are shared between rooms. ||Other things were less forgiveable: when we got the sheets up to our room we found that they didn't even fit the mattresses, we were told our room was a double when actually it had twin beds placed foot-to-foot, there were not enough showers on each floor for the number of people staying there. ||On the plus side the hostel is very well-located, quiet and clean. The staff are very pleasant too, and speak great English.
