Style Over Substance — Avoid Udai Kothi
If you’re looking for beautiful photos and absolutely terrible service, then Udai Kothi is the place for you. This hotel is the perfect example of how appearances can be completely deceiving.
From the moment we arrived, we were met with cold stares and confusion at the front desk. No greetings, no welcome drink, no basic hospitality — just a painful, disorganized check-in process that set the tone for the rest of our stay.
The staff at Udai Kothi seem expertly trained in ignoring guests. Need towels? Be ready to call three times and then maybe walk down to reception yourself. Want room service? Good luck! After waiting 90 minutes for food that never came, we gave up and went out. When we asked about the delay, they just shrugged. No apology. No explanation. Just blank indifference.
The rooms? Tired and worn. Our bathroom had a weird odor, and the fixtures looked like they hadn’t been fixed since the early 2000s. The so-called “luxury” vibe ends the moment you step in and see peeling paint, patchy WiFi, and staff who make you feel like a burden.
The rooftop pool and restaurant might look good in photos, but in reality, it’s overcrowded, chaotic, and poorly maintained. And don’t expect any poolside service unless you’re a magician who can summon the staff.
For a hotel that charges premium rates and prides itself on being “heritage luxury,” Udai Kothi has mastered the art of disappointing its guests.
We couldn’t wait to check out. Would never return. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values basic decency, comfort, or professional hospitality.
