My experience at Down Under and How Café was nothing short of exceptional. Situated in Kilcunda, the café provided a breath of fresh air that was much needed in this part of the coast. The ambiance was inviting and peaceful, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a meal. I particularly enjoyed their baked cheese with sour dough and the colazione roll, both delicious and satisfying. The menu offered select options that are of the highest quality. Further offerings included takeaway produce such as: fresh vegetables, small goods like cheese, butter, preserves, condiments, and more. What truly stood out during our visit was the the engaging staff who were not only attentive but also incredibly friendly. Their warm hospitality made us feel welcome and added to the overall positive experience. I would highly recommend Down Under and Hoe to anyone passing by or looking for a cozy spot to dine. Whether it's for a quick bite or a leisurely lunch, this café is sure to impress with its delicious food

I had the most delicious hearty soup, with the best buttered bread. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed eating while staring out at the beautiful sky and sea.

My wife doesn’t do reviews but she talks up this place so much I thought I’d post her comments: I love this place, the food is delicious (as good as the top places in town), coffee is always good, such welcoming styling (the cute lace privacy curtains are adorable) and staff are always friendly. Love it. Love love love. (All quotes are from the drive home). I guess we’ll keep going back :)

What a surprise to find an exceptional café in Kilcunda! The view is spectacular and is now complemented by wonderful food, friendly staff, and great ambiance. We'll soon be again on our bikes on the Bass Coast trail with a stop booked at Udder and Hoe.

This has become our favourite coffee stop on the way to our beach house. We love the Wedgewood crockery! I always get a cardamom bun or a pistachio from Invy bakers in Inverlock. I also get a loaf of bread, again from their suppliers (Invy Bakers). It is the best bread I’ve ever had. Beats everyone hands down. The staff are so lovely. The local produce is excellent.

Amazing food and amazing groceries. If i could i would give 10 stars. We are from austria here on a roadtrip and stopped by. There also was an icecream wagon in front with amaaazing ice cream

Perfect goto for your morning coffee and brunch fix, in an eco-friendly establishment. They have limited seating with pet friendly outdoor seats, and do not do takeaways coffees in disposable cups. Staff were warm and friendly. Reasonably priced for beautifully presented and delicious brunch food. Try their Tigernut milk latte as an alternative.

Cosy on a cold & windy day. Welcoming staff. Great coffee & nibbles. Pity it was too early to have a glass of local wine and fabulous architecture & design. We are looking forward to coming back.
