Experience the quick standing Japanese style restaurant that serves the simplest yet best Udon I've ever had. They don't have an English menu nor do they have a meal ticket vending machine. The store is busy but the owner was helpful to quickly point out what is on the menu. Tip 1. Check the menu that I've shared on this post and have it translated before entering. Tip 2. Tie your long hair up, as you would be in a standing position bending down to eat. Tip 3. The bowl would be hot, so enjoy the sobà or the tempura sides first before holding up the bowl for their amazing clear broth.

They are open at 7am. Great spot for a quickie standing only meal. You can easily miss the shop as there is all but a small sign on the glass pane and no lighted sign outside. It is darn good! Simple , yet good. I had the lime ramen with pork. It was served cold and pretty refreshing! I also had the pork belly strip version with no soup. You just add a bit of shoyu around for more flavor. The noodles are made fresh as you order it. It is firm and silky.

One of the finest Osaka style udon spots in town, super friendly staff, fast turnover, so little or no wait. Freshly hand made udon made in front of you and some amazing seasonal “specials” I had the summer “typhoon” and all options can be hot or cold. So good! おおきに!

Udon Kyutaro is the kind of place that reminds you how good simple food can be. The udon noodles were perfectly textured — smooth, chewy, and satisfying. The broth was light yet full of depth, with a clean, refreshing taste that really woke up the senses. I added the tempura, and it was the perfect touch — crisp, golden, and not greasy at all. The stand-up bar setting made the experience feel authentic and local. Plus, they open at 7am, which is a rare gem. Nothing beats slurping down a soupy bowl of udon before the city even wakes up. An easy 5 stars.

I cannot believe this place exists! The best udon of my life! Easily, the TOP meal of my year - for light summer meal (lime udon). Oh it’s so great I had 2! For winter, grilled aburi is highly recommended! Standing only. They have freshly grinded ginger which are refilled frequently in between meals. Let’s not forget the English speaking cute angel waitress that helped me choose and settle everything. 😍😎

As a udon fan, I have to say — the udon here is fantastic. Flavorful broth, perfectly chewy noodles — simple, comforting, and spot on. I came here on a Japanese friend’s recommendation, and it totally lived up to the hype. What surprised me most was that the entire place was run by just two staff — one chef and one server — and both of them were Vietnamese. As a fellow Vietnamese, I felt genuinely impressed and quietly proud to see them running such a popular spot so smoothly. The shop is small and traditional, but clean and cozy. If you love udon and find yourself in Osaka, definitely check it out.

Still thinking about this Udon we had for breakfast! Ordering was super quick and the udon was one of the best meals we had - don’t forget to get a tempura to add 🍤

A small local udon shop, standing (no seats), freshly made noodles. You will miss the shop if you don’t pay attention because it’s quite small. Do check the satellite pic for an idea of their entrance. I had their December specialty. It was a little spicy but tolerable. The meat is so soft and fatty, it melts in your mouth. There are also other classic udons. There are cabinets below for you to put your jackets. The employee speaks adequate English so you can ask in English if not fluent in Japanese. Overall very good food, good experience.

Yelp
Wonderful udon shop that opens early for breakfast. Stand and eat only. There is a simple menu, but everything is delicious, so you can't go wrong. The most popular seems to be the broiled chashu udon.
