I’m so glad I chanced upon this small udon shop with rather short operating hours. I ordered the recommended one with pork and soup. Really would wanted to try the dry version. Atmosphere is great too, with everyone standing by, holding their bowls up and the sound of everyone slurping noodles. So comforting and deliciously good for a cold weather. Ordered tempura too. Will recommended the beef pork croquette. The rest seem ordinary.

A fantastic udon restaurant that opens early. They offer various kinds of udon dishes, including a lime infused udon. They also offer tempura items that you can purchase for a small charge. Everything here was delicious. Pro tip: this is a standing restaurant, so there are no seats. It’s best to just eat and go.

A small local udon shop, standing (no seats), freshly made noodles. You will miss the shop if you don’t pay attention because it’s quite small. Do check the satellite pic for an idea of their entrance. I had their December specialty. It was a little spicy but tolerable. The meat is so soft and fatty, it melts in your mouth. There are also other classic udons. There are cabinets below for you to put your jackets. The employee speaks adequate English so you can ask in English if not fluent in Japanese. Overall very good food, good experience.

lovely cute little standing udon shop. when we went the person working was able to speak English so very tourist-friendly (I did do my best to speak Japanese anyway though). great food and you can choose to have a bunch of tempura on the side, though I opted not to. Udon was nice and bouncy. I ordered the butter one which was very buttery but in retrospect I wish I had ordered something else (I don’t really enjoy butter to begin with so that was my bad). The niku udon was great though. We did line up like 15min before it opened just because we were in the area, and definitely a good choice because the line started developing 5mins after open. However turnover seems fast anyway so I would definitely just stay in line and wait :)

I arrived five past 7AM and was the eighth customer of the day. There are ten spots allocated for dining at one time. The udon had the perfect texture. It had bounce and chew. I ordered the niku sudachi and though I enjoy the food and ultimately gave them five stars for the udon, I’m not convinced I like citrus flavoring in my udon broth. The potato croquette was meh and the eggplant tempura was better than average. Service was cordial and pleasant, though I felt like the staff that served the food to me was like a hawk monitoring my every move to correct social faux pas.

So delicious. I had the udon with sudachi and pork and the citrus flavour was wonderful, I would highly recommend getting the sudachi udon. It had a wonderful delicate and refreshing flavour. The meat was delicious and tender too. The restaurant is stand to eat and there is no english menu, but there are pictures and you can just point to what you want. It was easy to order. There are options for hot or cold udon. You can also select tempura as well. My shrimp tempura was good, I had eggplant as well which had a nice flavour, but was a bit cold. Open early for breakfast too which was good.

I'll begin this review by saying I've never enjoyed UDON before coming to Japan but this place was special and it changed my mind. It's a small hole in the wall where the locals come to eat. The udon taste very soft and chewy. It's hand made and it goes really well with the dipping soup. The tempura is heavily underrated and each piece is just so good. It wasn't oily and it had a nice crunch to it. I tried a few pieces and wish I had gotten more. Best part? It was under 1500 yen for the udon and tempura. One of the best meal I had in Japan after traveling from Tokyo.

Went here early in the morning around 7.30am on a very quiet street. It is all standing, without seats. I realize the locals eat very quickly and leave immediately after finishing the food. Was very surprised by how good this simple udon dish is. The soup was really good and flavourful. The tempura additions were great too at JPY100 each. Highly recommended! The shop can only serve 8 at one time if I remember correctly, that's why it is better to go early if you can and avoid peak hours.

Yelp
Wonderful udon shop that opens early for breakfast. Stand and eat only. There is a simple menu, but everything is delicious, so you can't go wrong. The most popular seems to be the broiled chashu udon.
