Stayed here for 5 nights in November 2025.||Pros:|1) The location is fantastic. The Ueno station, Ueno Park and the Narita Skyline stations are all just a hop, skip and a jump away.|2) There are plenty of eating options close by. There are two convenient stores right below the hotel.|3) The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Bed was comfortable.|4) There is a laundry machine next to the lobby and it worked well.|5) The WIFI is free and the speed and connectivity were good.|6) The front desk staff was polite and efficient. The check-in and check-out process was fast and smooth.|7) The place is quiet at night and the sleep quality was great.|8) The tariff was reasonable.||Cons:|1) The rooms and bathrooms were small.|2) There is just one washer and one drier.

I stayed here for one night in a single room. The check in process was easy despite my limited Japanese and the front desk staff (a Japanese man with glasses, I didn’t catch his name) was prompt and polite. The room was quite small but it came equipped with all of the necessary amenities (slippers, nightwear, hairdryer, etc.). There were also additional free amenities at the front desk but I did not use them. You may struggle for space if you have a large suitcase but I had no issues with my small luggage. I liked that the television was a smart tv so I could watch YouTube. I have noticed that many hotels in Japan do not have smart tvs so it was nice to have. I also liked that the bed had two pillows. One was firm and the other was soft. The bed was comfortable and I had a restful sleep. It is located near Ueno Station which is good for transit and for local sightseeing. The area was quiet but there were many connivence stores and restaurants nearby. If you are in the area I would highly recommend visiting the museums nearby. There are quite a bit of steps that you must traverse to reach the hotel from the station. Keep this in mind if you have mobility issues and/or heavy luggage. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would like to stay here again if I want to be near the Ueno area.

Google
Perfect location just a short walk from Ueno Station! There’s a Lawson and an AEON Market nearby, making it super convenient for travelers. The front desk staff speak English fluently and provide warm, welcoming service. I stayed for six nights, and every evening when I returned, the room was as clean as when I first checked in. They only handle trash, bathroom, and bed cleaning, without touching any personal belongings 👍 The air conditioning works great and can be adjusted individually. If you’re particular about room size, you might want to evaluate it yourself personally, I found it just right. I’ll definitely choose this place again when I visit Tokyo!

Highly recommended. Great location (just a couple of blocks away from Ueno Station) We had a great experience in this Hotel! We are so grateful for the kindness and service of the receptionists who did everything in their power to suit our needs. Something excellent about our experience here was that we were able to leave our luggage in between different stays, and send some packages there, allowing us to travel light to different places in Japan (only taking with us carry-ons).

Bring your own pillow! This budget hotel is a 3min walk to the metro and has a few places to eat and combini's on the block. Staff was great.. room was good. Bed actually had a little softness to it unlike other Asian countries where the beds are like bricks. The pillow was like sleeping on a brick though which Ive heard most hotels in Japan have super hard pillows. After enduring excruciating neck pain from it.. I went and bought a pillow.

Amazing services, the hotel has full amenities. The staffs very kind and fully assistance. The location is very convenience for transportation, near the train station and surrounding will foods. Thank you very much, we cant wait to come back again and will choose to stay in this hotel for sure :)

Google
This hotel is an absolute gem. The staff were incredibly nice and it felt like a home away from home. The beds are extremely comfortable, in fact, even more comfortable than the resort bed that we stayed in after we left! Honestly we are kind of sad we did not decide to stay at this hotel for our whole trip, it was a better experience than all the other places we stayed during our trip to Japan. It was absolutely perfect.

My worst experience of my entire trip to Japan. I was greeted by a staff member who was impatient and irritated that I didn't speak Japanese. And since English is my second language, just like him, it was difficult to understand each other. It was very unpleasant. Don't stay here if it's your first hotel in Japan, as it will leave you with a bad impression of the country's hospitality, which was perfect everywhere else in my case. I just avoided that gentleman on the other days, and the rest of the staff were very nice. Otherwise, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is very good.

Yelp
This small place near Ueno station makes a great base for exploring Tokyo without breaking your budget. What we like: 1. LOCATION: within short walking distance to the metro station and also JR station for exploring outside Tokyo including the Shinkansen bullet train to whisk you to destinations like Kyoto - also note that it takes only 45 minutes for the Skyliner from Narita airport 2. VALUE & COMFORT : for a very reasonable price you get a clean place with comfortable bed and good amenities in the room, such as hot water kettle, green tea sachets, toothbrushes, slippers, kimono, hairdryer, big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body soap; there's also a small tv and a frig, plus free wifi with good speed Things to be aware of (none of these matters for us): 1. Room is pretty small, including the bathroom the size of those in a cruise ship and not much space to store your luggage, but it is nicely equipped with things like the bidet and a functioning desk 2. There's a tiny restaurant on the ground floor but beyond that there's not much else for your culinary choices So for as far as budget accommodation in Tokyo goes this is a pretty good experience

Yelp
I totally agree with everything Michael W. posted. This is considered a business hotel, so it's basically just a place to sleep. Pros: Location: Ueno station is just 4 stops from Tokyo station and the hotel itself is a short ten minute walk from the train station. Hotel/room: the hotel is contemporary and the room itself has all the basic amenities including Shiseido shampoo, conditioner, body wash and face wash, fridge, free wifi, computers downstairs, and water kettle-- all pluses for me. The staff is friendly and there is onsite laundry with soap available for 20 cents. In house restaurant: We ate at the restaurant on the first floor last night, which was pretty pricey. We are going to try our luck outside tonight. It seems like there are a lot of choices within walking distance. Cons: You may not like it if you're clausterphobic or like to hang out in your room. But if you're looking for a good deal and just a place to sleep/shower, it's great!!

Yelp
Great stay (twice)! The rooms are spotless. They offer weekly rates. The staff is friendly, very receptive to emails, and super accommodating. The rooms are tiny but that's just Tokyo. The hot water in the shower is great. The AC is strong, and they have a laundry room. Located just minutes from Ueno station, convenient for exploring Tokyo and Ueno park. Prices are fair for what you get.

Yelp
This hotel was situated in a perfect location in Ueno. It's conveniently located near the Ueno station, Ueno Park, Ameyoko Market, and a handful of convenience stores like 7-11 and Lawsons. A short detour through Ameyoko Market and a bit of walking would be Akihabara if you're into that, and several stations away are Asakusa and Tokyo Skytree. It was the perfect location for our first trip to Tokyo. The hotel itself had excellent service and staff. We checked in a little too early that morning, but the staff accommodated us and the nice man handed me the keys to the room that was situated at their top floor. There, the maids that were cleaning up even showed us the way to our hotel room and opened the door for us. How pleasant! The room was small, but I knew what I was getting from the pictures I saw. This is to be expected for paying sub $100/night in Tokyo, it is an expensive city compared to others. The room had basic TV, telephone, tea kettle, fridge, and double bed. Everything was nice and clean. I found it interesting that you have to switch between the sink and shower for the water to run. I never seen that before so that was new. And of course, you have the bidet which is always nice. I had some decent sleep and the quality was okay, though I have to say the walls are pretty thin. You can hear nearby guests footsteps and sometimes even conversation. I would recommend bringing a white noise machine to block out any sound in that case. Over the two days, the hotel served its purpose and I was very pleased with the stay. I would certainly come back again.
