This is one of the worst housing offices in the nation. Don’t let anyone tell you differently. They are extremely rude and very money hungry. Do anything you can to avoid dealing with them! Off campus housing is readily available at much cheaper prices.

Called today about housing for my daughter incoming freshman, and I must say terrible, rude interaction with office staff. She seem displeased about doing her job. This is scary for me as a parent.

It has been my unfortunate experience that the university housing administration can sometimes appear unresponsive and primarily focused on financial gains, potentially at the expense of students' well-being. I'd like to share a couple of experiences that have left me dissatisfied with my university housing: 1) Initially, my partner and I selected a room and received approval for our move-in. However, the housing administration later changed our assignment to a smaller room, even after we had signed the lease. This decision left us feeling trapped, as we had passed on other housing options under the impression that we were moving into an affordable and suitable space. 2) One particularly discouraging aspect is the exorbitant lease cancellation fee, which stands at 50% of the total rent. In my case, I secured employment in another city for Fall 2023, which I couldn't pass up. Nevertheless, due to my continued registration with UGA for Fall, particularly for graduation purposes, I was faced with a staggering $5,000 lease cancellation fee. My attempt to explain my situation was met with indifference and a somewhat patronizing response from the housing administration.

I am a new student and every time I call the housing department they are rude and condescending. They need better staff who understand how to deal with student’s needs. They have absolutely poor customer service. The lady mumbled under her breath and had a short tone for no reason. I was extremely nice, but she acted like I was bothering her with my questions. This is not what I expected from such a prestigious institution.

These apartments are on par with jail. (I live on Rogers Road.) Literally, there are two windows (one for each room), glaring fluorescent lights, cinder block walls, and carpet that is glued to a concrete slab. You can't use any of the plugs because their "safe" plugs, so it requires the force of God and a high risk of electrocution to plug anything in to them. You are able to hear literally everything your neighbors do in their day to day lives, including their bathroom frequencies, their love lives, their favorite music and movies. I literally know all about my neighbor's personal life, and I have never even seen her over 8 months. Also, the housing office is the worst. They never communicate and have horrible records. Plus, their staff is plain rude. I never have lived in a place so depressing in my entire life. It's hard to be happy here, and I tried everything. I am so happy to be moving out after a year here. Do yourself a favor and live elsewhere. Grad school is already tough. Don't make it tougher by living in this dismal place.

I have lived in University Village for the past 3 years, and I am excited to announce that I will be extending my contract through the next year. Put simply, I love it here. The staff are so warm and kind to us and often bring cookies to the rooms. The rooms are really spacious and have a comfy atmosphere. Overall, I would definitely recommend it to any UGA student who wants an incredible housing experience.

This is a review for Rogers Road in the UGH university village umbrella. I've lived here for a year and a half and up until the last few months, I would have recommended it. The last several months I have been consistently finding German cockroaches in my apartment. I live cleanly so they are not attracted by food being left out, etc. Every time I see them, the office sends pest control to treat. Their responsiveness is appreciated. However, the roach problem never goes away. I'm emotionally exhausted of waking up and never knowing if or where I'm going to find a roach wandering around my apartment (and I've seen them everywhere--the bathroom, the kitchen, climbing on the walls of my bedroom...). As I said, I appreciate that the office sends pest control when requested, but I'm coming to the conclusion that there must be a standing infestation in the building that can't be dealt with by treating individual apartments. With that in mind, I can't recommend living here and I would recommend looking elsewhere for housing. Edit and update: After this review, I was finally able to get in touch with and speak with the pest control personnel and showed them where to bait to target the roaches I've seen. I didn't see any for two weeks, then saw three just this morning. This is what happens, they come and go. Clearly whatever treatment is being done doesn't work (the bait that was laid down is still present in spades) and this apartment is unfixably infested. Don't live here.

While my dorm needs some work, the service I’ve gotten from everyone who works for housing has been amazing. I’ve had a very unique quarantine experience as I was exposed, went home, and suddenly needed to come back and quarantine in a UGA provided space. Everyone in housing was so helpful and made sure a room was ready despite it being late in the afternoon. So thankful for how everything worked out and all of the housing employees!!
