Ulew Cocktail Bar

This is, literally, my favorite cocktail bar in the world. I make it a point to visit this place on every trip to Guatemala (to be honest, every night that I’m in Antigua). I love their line for new people: “At Ulew we don’t have a menu, you are the menu”. This place does not have a menu. You will share what you like, favorite spirits, and flavors and they will come back to you with a surprise. If you don’t love it, they will change it.

Enter the red phone booth to cool vibes! The waiter brought each of us specialty drinks based on our tastes. We provided some of our favorite flavors and spirits and they did the rest. Each of us were pleasantly impressed with what we were served. The cardamom infused water along with complimentary toasted pumpkin seeds were a special touch.

Everybody looking for a cocktail in Antigua has heard of this speakeasy. You go in, tell them the drink vibes you’re looking for, and they come back with something to best match that description. It was a good atmosphere and the drinks were certainly good but I think it was more of a 1-and-done type of place for me honestly.

LOVED this speak easy bar. I was so excited to find one in Guatemala. It’s easy to find and the cocktails are great! There is no menu , so you tell the bartender what you’d like and different flavours you prefer and they create you amazing cocktails.

BEST COCKTAIL BAR IN ANTIGUA! What a cool concept with the coolest mixologists! A no menu concept so you better know what you like to drink so the bartenders can blow your mind. I went here three different times and got served by three different bartenders and each one absolutely killed every drink I asked for! I sometimes tried to request something more complicated to see what they would come up with and they absolutely did not disappoint! I came in on my birthday and as a solo traveler, I felt like family after that encounter! Thank you guys for making me feel so special!

This was the coolest bar I’ve ever been too. LIKE WOAAAH completely exceeded my expectations. You tell the bartender what you want your cocktail to be like (i.e. floral, refreshing, w gin, etc) and they slay the drink. They don’t use recipes which is so astonishing bc these cocktails were so good! Everyone gets a unique coaster (each one felt like art) for their cocktails, which was my fav part. They also served roasted pumpkin seeds w our drinks which were so good to munch on!! Sounds strange but their water was also delicious! This place was so cool and I deem it a must see/experience!

The concept is simple: you share what you like to drink and your preferred flavor profiles — then the bartenders work their magic. And it is magic. What you get is exactly what you didn’t know you were craving — a completely unique drink you’ve likely never had before, crafted through pure mixology tailored to your taste. A MUST GO in the city.

Fantastic place. To enter you have to go through a phone booth. They have a signature cocktail that has an amazing taste to it due to the squash seeds they used for seasoning. Absolutely a fantastic find as a speakeasy.
