This hotel was recommended by Rick Steves. We stayed there 5 nights. It is not in the absolute center of town… but so close…a five minute walk. Our room was very spacious and comfortable… their morning breakfast is excellent. | It is true there are some things that need to be updated. The room had a whirlpool tub that did not work. Some of the pillows are not as fluffy as in other hotels.. however, our overall experience was so fabulous that I would stay there again over a four star hotel with the best rating. | When we left the hotel, we forgot some money and a credit card in the safe. They contacted us immediately. First, they tried by phone, then they tried by email until they found us. Unfortunately, we were already about to return to the states. Within two days they used the money to pay on our account and then credited our card. They even went to the bank to exchange some British Pounds we left into euros - so they could accept the money. We are so grateful and happy that we stayed there! Since what we left was in cash, someone could’ve easily picked it up. | I must say the cleaning staff was also great. They were very thoughtful and helpful with us during our stay.| While I am writing this, I want to mention a little shop nearby owned by Luigi Landolfi. He makes wooden boxes with detailed inlays. He does absolutely gorgeous work and his prices are reasonable. There is also a little store around the corner that has lots of snacks and things that can be purchased. The owners are very friendly and we enjoyed interacting with them. Our stay at the Ulisse was wonderful, and the kindness of the people we met will always be remembered

I booked a bed in a shared room with 5 people arranged in two separate rooms (a 2 bed + a 3 bed room) It is not the usual hostel. No bunk beds, but single and very comfortable ones with orthopedic mattresses. A wardrobe, nightstands, a table and TV were available. Moreover there were two private bathrooms that included also a bath, a bidet and a large mirror. A buffet breakfast can also be purchased for 10 euro or even less if booked along with the bed. A few steps from the main street of Sorrento and close to a supermarket. Highly recommended

If you’re looking for a reasonably priced hotel room in Sorrento that is close enough to walk to the city center but far enough from the crowds, this hotel warrants your consideration. The quality of the service and experience undoubtedly exceeded our expectations. The front office staff was most helpful and welcoming and offered suggestions for restaurants and things to do in fabulous Sorrento. The quality and quantity of our daily breakfast were a good way to start our busy and hectic days.

The room was clean, the staff at the hotel were helpful, and a delight to interact with. We were there when several groups of high school age groups stayed at the hotel in the hostil portion. At times they got noisey but the staff took care of the noise level promptly. |The location of the hotel puts it close to the shopping area, historical building and a quick walk down to Marina Grande for dinner by the water.

We stayed 4 nights. The Staff speak English well and were very helpful. Breakfasts are included and are outstanding and plentiful. Close to all sites in the center of town. Elevator in the hotel. Price is very reasonable. There are no views or terrace.

**Review: A True Hidden Gem** This property may be labeled a "hostel" because of its two shared rooms, but it offers a full hotel experience. The private rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and well-appointed, providing all the comforts you'd expect from a top-tier hotel. The staff is exceptionally friendly, speaks multiple languages, and is always ready to assist with anything you need. What really sets this place apart is the outstanding service. The concierge team is incredibly helpful, going out of their way to ensure a seamless stay, which is a rare find in Italy. If you’re looking for hotel-level comfort and service with the charm of a boutique stay, this is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

Don’t let the “hostel” designation put you off. This place is fantastic value for money in a brilliant location just minutes from the main strip. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Great breakfast. Large room, well positioned sockets!

We had a very enjoyable stay at this apartment in Sorrento. It is separate from the rest of the hotel in a very private and quiet location. It was roomy and very well-equipped and appointed. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others. It is also next door to a fabulous seafood restaurant, which was a bonus.

Yelp
THE RECEPTIONIST CHRISTIAN ATTEMPTED TO RECORD ME SEXUALLY WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE DURING MY STAY!!!! I booked a 2-night stay here and had an extremely disturbing and traumatic experience. After checking in and exiting the hostel to get dinner, I was approached by a staff member, Christian, who initially engaged in friendly conversation but quickly made inappropriate and invasive remarks, such as asking if I use Grindr, if I "like Italian men," and if I'm gay. Despite feeling uncomfortable, I felt pressured to respond. Later, he invited me to a club in Sorrento, which I reluctantly agreed to. While at the club, he violated my privacy by entering the restroom uninvited and took me to his apartment while I was blacking out. It was at this point that he took advantage of me and attempted to record intimate moments without my consent. I demanded he delete the footage and ultimately had to involve the police. For my safety, I was forced to leave the hostel and book an emergency stay at a nearby hotel, incurring additional expenses. I was also appalled when I reported this incident to the management, including the general manager, they showed no empathy and refused to provide any assistance or even a refund and have the audacity to tell me to talk to him directly.. I'm appalled by their lack of accountability and unwillingness to address such a serious situation. This hostel is unsafe, and poorly run. Avoid it

Yelp
My husband and I had a very pleasant stay at the Ulisse Deluxe Hostel during our honeymoon in Italy. The hotel staff were incredibly professional, helpful, and accommodating. Since we booked online in advance we weren't sure what to expect, but we were very happy with the location and quality of the hotel. We stayed in an upgraded room with two queen beds and a view of the cliffs. The hotel is at street level and the parking garage is on top, so there are no rooms with a view of the sea but the cliffside is quite nice. After staying in Rome where the hotel rooms are quite tiny, we were amazed with how spacious the bedroom and bathroom area were! The housekeeping staff were quite thorough: even our pillow cases were changed daily and replaced with a freshly ironed one. The breakfast spread was quite impressive and offered something for everyone: eggs, assorted fresh pastries, slices of meats and cheeses, bread rolls and croissants, yogurt and muesli, and fresh fruit. The fresh juice dispensers offered interesting flavors: blood orange, strawberry, and others. They also offered still or sparkling bottled water for travelers that are not accustomed to the water in Italy (usually tap water is to be avoided to prevent getting sick). The location is great - just a short 10-15 minute walk from the train station and you pass through the quaint downtown area on your way. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby. The front desk made some fantastic recommendations and helped make reservations for us. All in all, this is a great hotel for the price and much, much more than you would expect with "hostel" in the name. Sure, it's not a Kimpton Hotel or traditional 5-star hotel, but this is a great hotel for travelers looking for an affordable hotel in Sorrento.

Yelp
This was the last hotel we stayed in after our 2 week trip through Italy. This is a well priced hotel for the city and area. I liked how walkable the distance was from the main area. I can tell why our tour guides booked this hotel. The rooms are huge and the ac works excellent. The shower head is poorly designed. My roommate and I couldn't get it to stay and got water everywhere! The breakfast was sufficient and staff were kind. The staff overall were nice and made good recommendations. The only thing is we tried to ask about getting a boat to capri and they kept trying to sell us on a full day tour. They said it was too "hard" for us to find the way and since it was hard to find we would end up spending more money if we went out alone. I understand that they are trying to help but we also felt like the tour companies sponsored them. This is a hotel where you get what you pay for. You have to put a 5 euro deposit for an extra key and all their "amenities" are not part of the hotel. It's just companies that work with the hotel and you have to pay 10 euros to use the partner pool.

Yelp
This was our last hotel after two weeks of traveling and it was such a nice place to stay. Very affordable. I only wish they had free breakfast I think it was a few euros actually. The service was very friendly and helpful and booked a shuttle for us to the airport.
