Ultimate Burger

SO DISAPPOINTED. I've eaten inside many times and it's usually pretty good. I got takeout today for the World Series (am happy to provide my order number) and was so incredibly disappointed. I ordered both burgers medium rare so I could heat them at home, and while they were pink inside, the meat felt mushy and raw. Flavorless. Hard sear on the outside but weird texture and temp on the inside. Also, for $15 JUST FOR A BURGER, I would expect some actual lettuce and tomato. And to salt the patty. Instead it was one slice of tomato, and the smallest bits of lettuce and onion I've ever seen on a burger. The fries were super soggy and overly oily even after heating them in the air fryer. So disappointed that for $50 for only two burgers/two fries, this is what we got. The meat was inedible and you could tell it was just thrown together. Maybe someone was having an off day/new or something. I get it, things happen. The wrapper was tucked in between the burger and bun. I should have taken a better photo before reheating. Definitely not at all like their photos (what food is) but you expect more from a small business who prides itself on local, quality ingredients.

I highly recommend that you SKIP this place! I ordered the "Fresh Catch" fish sandwich. My jaw almost dropped when I read the receipt and it was $20 for JUST a sandwich (no drink or fries.) I thought, well, it must be really big and really good. It was barely bigger than a slider and it was NOT good! The top of the bun was a not much thicker than a piece of paper (see photo.) The fish was not seasoned very well and I couldn't taste the sauce because it had the consistency of water and it all ran off the sandwich (see photo.) I get that this restaurant is in a fancy plaza, with a fountain and lots of free parking, so I'm sure the rent is high. However, you can't charge people $20 for a garbage sandwich!

Food is all made to order but it really did not taste good for my son and I. I ate most of my burger but my son only took a few bites and was done. He also did not like the fries. Honestly I feel the only thing I did like was the sauce for the fries. The burger just did not have hardly any flavor to it.

Best burger on the island hands down. Juicy patties, awesome sauce, great charred flavour, super filling. Had multiple burgers on the island and this was hands down the best. I had excellent service both times I visited. My only nit is that the brioche bun (which super flavorful) falls apart on a double burger. The burger is that juicy that the bun disintegrates!!

Busy at lunch, but still not a long wait. Made to order burgers shoestring fries both are excellent. Local beef and toppings, counter staff knowledgeable kind and understanding and very easy on the eyes

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat , the burger was phenomenal. They cooked it perfectly medium, the bun held up great, the seasoning was flavorful. I added jalapenos on mine for a little bite, and the fries with the aioli sauce was perfect.

Order the ultimate cheeseburger with havart cheese and bacon. Very good, very filling with a side of fries. It seems very popular and get really busy, mix of locals and tourists.

We visited on a Friday for a late dinner and it was packed! Although it took a while to order and receive our food, it was well worth the wait. I appreciate that most of the ingredients are locally sourced, supporting local farmers. This was surprisingly one of the top meals I had on my visit to the island. The price is unbeatable for what you get and the burgers were delicious. Also the fries were a 10/10 and the house-made garlic aioli dipping sauce was bomb! I noticed the staff were all hardworking and young and I knew they'd throw down in the kitchen and they definitely did. Highly recommend you try this place out, and if you're on a crunch for time-you can order ahead online!

It's a fast food burger joint with excellent quality food. My burgers (I've been there twice, and fries are Yum! The service is kind and efficient. One thing that was challenging was the tiny plastic ketchup packets. Why the extra plastic? I'd suggest to just put a ketchup pump on the counter where the packets are. It's way more environmentally friendly. Otherwise, the space is comfortable, plenty of tables and it's kept clean.

Good service, chill vibes, but it was pretty pricey for okay food. I ordered the naked burger & added cheddar and avocado, along with fries and a drink. My total was $20+. The meat quality is definitely good but it lacked flavor to me unfortunately. I can only taste the over toasted buns instead. I think my fries were overdone and I barely had any.

Lotsa parking, friendly service, fresh food and reasonable prices. On our last day in Kona we stumbled upon this restaurant. Interior is neat and more ordering than seating on your own. The ladies at the register were helpful describing the burgers and options. Everything is made to order and they cook your burger upon request and according to your preference on the doneness. Two burgers and a side of fries came out to $28 which is very reasonable for locally sourced ingredients. My ultimate cheeseburger with bacon had a nice healthy patty with fresh vegetables. The first bite tasted so juicy and fresh. The ultimate hamburger was consistently the same and impressed us with the flavors of the grill. Everything was so delicious. The fries were cooked crunchy, salty and not overly dry. Definitely a yummy treat for the tummy with so many flavors.

This place is becoming our lunch stop before heading for the airport. It's a small place in the Kona Commons Shopping Center off Makala Blvd serving grass fed beef burgers. I ordered an Ultimate Cheeseburger with pepperjack cheese, without pickles or sauce, cooked medium ($10.99) with an order of Ultimate Fries ($4.75) and a large fountain drink ($3.09). The burger was cooked perfectly, and IMO is one of the best cheeseburgers available at a fast-food location anywhere in Hawaii. It doesn't need any sauce ... You can taste the beef. I can't say the same for the fries; they're not crispy enough for me. I'm going to give UB 3.5 stars because $23.27 is a bit pricy for a burger, (soggy) fries and drink. Had the fries been crispy, I would have rated UB 4.

We LOVE this place! Hadn't been in 8 years or so and still awesome! Service is quick, plenty of seats inside or outside. Inside feels like a true burger place! Their Burgers - no matter which creation you choose - are packed with such flavor. Cooked to your preference - which is great! They are SO juicy and seasoned to perfection! A really tasty burger! We do hope they will offer a smash burger one day. They lost a burger sale in our group because she can't eat thick burgers. The french fries were similar to shoestrings fries, could have eaten the whole basket myself lol!! Just the right amount of salt and cooked perfectly! This place is a MUST try! Lots of different choices! So happy they were still there!

The wait was worth it because the food was delicious. I would totally come back. Price was reasonable and service was great. The place looked inviting and casual.

Great local burger spot! The vibe was awesome, with reggae music playing and the surf channel on the TVs. We ordered our food to-go, and while it took a bit of time to be ready, it was well worth the wait. (Next time, I'll call ahead.) The local grass-fed beef Ultimate Cheeseburger with bacon and sautéed mushrooms was fantastic--a thick, perfectly cooked medium-rare patty. The fries were homemade, skinny and crisp, and seasoned just right. The aioli dipping sauce that came with the fries was a delicious touch. My husband had the double cheeseburger, which was massive! He ended up saving one patty for lunch the next day. The lemonade was super refreshing--not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. All in all, a great experience--definitely a place to return to!

Always reliable spot for a burger in Kona. I've been several times over the years and it's always tasty and consistent. Especially helpful if you have to go across the street and brave the Target! Quality ingredients, never disappoints, small shop so if it's busy, there won't be much seating. You might want to take it to go. I still like Village Burger up in Waimea the best on the Island, but this is a very solid option in Kona.

Many other places deserve the business. I'd recommend giving somewhere else your business. McDonald's would be a better choice. Possibly less attitude after they make a mistake, as well as a they tend not to forget the patty.

The cashier was very rude and threat to ban me. when asked why she called me a feisty furry and besides that had no reason to make such a threat. i feel very offended. -10/10000

No joke best burger I've ever had. Can't think any burger place that made a better one. Fries were also on another level. The fries were so good after I finished my food I bought more to go. Very reasonable prices which I also appreciated.

Food was on point. Burgers are delicious and really fresh. I loved the fries. Just the right amount of salt and fresh potato. I also got one of the house lemonades and that was surprisingly amazing. Well done Ultimate Burger. That sounds weird, my burger was a perfect medium - and that was well done.

Locally sourced food prepared daily. The freshness of it all comes with every bite. Reasonably priced but it is a la carte so be mindful. You'll wish you another stomach once you're full. Go and try them, you'll be glad you did. My next visit to Kona, I'm going back!

Delicious! This counter order restaurant in a shopping center with free parking is easy to access. While it is pretty utilitarian (metal tables and chairs), the food is outstanding and the service is friendly. Locally made ingredients make delicious burgers cooked to order with crunchy and fresh french fries. Highly recommend an Arnold Palmer with fresh lemonade and tea. Pretty reasonable for the quality ($10 burgers and $4 lemonade). Plus, they have Gorgonzola as a cheese option! I would definitely come again.

Family and I grabbed some meals to go last night from this restaurant. Wish I knew about it sooner. If you are concerned with eating locally raised, grass fed, no hormones or antibiotics meat...go here! We all order burgers and I order a double cheeseburger. They were all delicious with all the proper fixings (tomatoes, onions, lettuce, pickles and homemade aioli. All of the toppings were locally grown and were fresh. We also ordered their fresh cut French Fries from locally grown potatoes (organic the waitress stated). There were delicious as well. But the portions for the fries were too small for the price. If that is fixed, this place would get 5 stars! Would come back for sure but skip the fries unless it is a better portion. Definitely recommend.

The burgers are so good. I like that the food is locally sourced. Service is always good.

They're not a whole lot to look at (i.e. you ain't coming here for the ambiance)... but what they do they do well. Is it the "ultimate" burger? That's debatable. but do they make a damned good burger? Yes, they really do. We'd definitely go back if we were in the area...

It's a very good burger and the temperature is usually right on. Today, my med-rare burger was slightly overdone but still good. As for value, nothing comes close. I ordered the triple decker with pepper jack and sautéed mushrooms. Even taking one of the patties off, you still can't fit the burger in your mouth. The ambiance leaves a bit to be desired but great burger and a better price. My bill was $20 for a triple decker. (I give it 4.5 stars. I've had better tasting burgers but can't beat the value.)

Well, back on the big island of Hawaii for the second time this year and a must stop is always Ultimate Burgers! The beef is locally sourced. Everything is always ultimately fresh! SERVICE was spot on, and it was crowded, always a sign of good food. If you're looking for a burger on the island, please check this place out. You won't be disappointed. Mahalo!!

Grass fed burgers are the best at this local burger joint, on the Big Island / Kona. It's in a strip mall across from the Target shopping area. The fries are hand cut fries. The bun is a brioche bun which adds to the freshness of the burger. They are very reasonable in price. There is a constant flow of people coming in. You can see the gal back in the kitchen cooking your burger as she is smiling away. Yum !!

The burgers here are among the best I've had. Locally sourced and well worth the wait. We went on New Year's Day and we were able to get our order before they ran out beef for the day. You can dine in or out and watch surfing while you wait! Mahalo!

Never thought I would be in Hawaii, let alone praising the island burgers there. The burgers have real beef, thick beef, none of that thin square patty junk! The burgers are oozing with toppings and culinary personality. Make sure to stretch your mouth before that first bite! Support local business and make sure to show love to the Hawaiian natives!

First time trying Ultimate Burger and it DID NOT disappoint! I would stop by if u want a quick meal! customer service was great and overall great for families!

The burger was good but the aioli for the fries were the best part . I got a burger and a lemonade and the total was $26 which in my opinion is a little too much. They charge extra for the toppings like grilled onions, bacon, pineapple etc. 4 stars because of the price!

GO! Great juicy and satisfying cheeseburgers, made to order, with fresh lettuce, tomato and a pickle. Appreciated the fresh bun, not too huge, but you do need to open wide for that first bite. The burgers are JUICY, not oily. The FRIES were AMAZING, and terrific side of aioli. FRESH lemonade hit the spot on a warm afternoon. I could drink a gallon of it, so good. Staff was friendly, food brought to your table. Indoors was a bit toasty so we ate outside and listened to the fountain. We were 1st in line at 1 pm on a Thursday. As it is not fast food, there was a 10-15 minute wait for the food to be prepared. Menu board was easy to read and colorful. Located in the Kona Commons Shopping Center, ample parking, big wide walking pathway (across from Target). Take the 19, turn on Makala Blvd. and you're there. Quick drive from there to Ali'i Drive for the farmer's market. Inside isn't exciting - tables, chairs, a soda machine. Sure you can get a great burger at home, but why not get a great burger looking at palm trees? If you're on the four stars app, enter your number at the counter. We got free fries since it was our first visit! And, just got a reward for a free soda at our next visit.

They fed us paper. They forgot to take the wax paper off of the cheese on the burger. We brought it back and then it took 20 minutes to get it back out to us without paper. They also charged us a 15% auto gratuity tip without saying anything. Our total bill was almost $200 and even after the paper on the burger and a large tip wouldn't provide a few extra sauces. Terrible service. Would have done 1 star but the burger without paper was alright.

This is one of the best burgers on the island. Sorry I didn't take any pictures. They do things right , meat is seasoned perfectly and they don't hide the flavor of meat with unnecessary sauces . I had grilled onions and bacon. It was delicious. I didn't think I would like the fries, but I am glad I was wrong. They work with the burger so well,, and the fry sauce is really good. Good food done right with quality ingredients.

The experience of trying the burger was overshadowed by the fact that they cook their meat with a lot of pink inside. As a burger lover, every establishment always confirms with the customer if medium or medium well for how they want their meat cooked is ok. They did not confirm. So you can imagine my surprise when I took it home and excitedly bit into it only to find a lot of pink. I can't eat a burger with pink in it. So I had to cook it on the stove. The burger was ok. Even after cooking it well done. It lacked flavor. Giving it an extra star simply because it's grass fed meat.

Great burger with grill taste, thick, and juicy & meaty patty. Onions, tomatoes, and lettuce were fresh. The fries were delicious. My 14 year old loved it and finished the whole double decker cheeseburger with 2 thick patties. I had a single hamburger and fries and I was already full. We are visiting Kona and our kid loves the burger so much she had double decker cheeseburger for dinner 2 days in a row.

I went here because I saw all of the good reviews and saw that they look for local ingredients. When we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly cashier. This is a casual dining spot, so you order at the counter and sit down. I got the Keiki burger and fries. My boyfriend got the naked burger with cheese and pickles. The burgers were cooked perfectly. The portion was good. Even for the keiki burger the portion was nice. Unfortunately though, we both did not like the burgers. They were very...wet. If you like a greasy, juicy burger, this may be for you. It just wasn't our taste. We both had two or three bites and bailed. I think this is a great place for anyone who likes the really juicy and greasy burgers. It just wasn't for us. ‍

Voted the best burger, I had to check it out!! Came here 2x the first time was really, really, really good! 2nd time was honestly okayyy!!! I felt like the burger was lacking some flavor/seasoning. Even the fries were a little off. But overall really good burger. I got a single patty the first time and the 2nd time I got a double. Wth was I thinking I couldn't even fit it in my mouth lol so unfortunately I took it out and didn't end up eating it. Boo! I guess I'm use to Inn n out patties and forgot how thick their beef is. Anyways the aioli sauce is a must. Toppings are extra. Service was good and easy to order. Not the best burger I had but it was good. 4 stars in my book.

We had lunch yesterday. Ordered ultimate cheeseburger with all the trimmings and side salad instead of French fries. Totally get everyones opinion and love for the place. Delicious, cooked perfectly, dressed with local vegetables and sauce. We are so glad we tried it.

Take the time to leave the waterfront and head across the main highway over to the Ross shopping center, which is across from target. There you'll find ultimate burger! Made with grass fed beef and all locally sourced ingredients, not mass produced, but made by hand and, one of the most delicious cheeseburgers I've ever had. The fries are fresh-cut and they come with a delicious, tiny bit spicy dipping sauce so no ketchup is needed! Free refills on the soda fountain drinks. Sufficient indoor and a few outdoor seating areas. Won't disappoint and there's nothing this fresh on the mainland that I've found.

The best Burger shop in Town. I always get the Swiss Burger with some mushrooms and caramelized Onions; I pair this with their Ono fries and don't get me started on the sauce! Just wow, the sauce is Saucing. Burgers are grass fed so these burgers are top tier.

The food is worth the wait!! Absolutely the BEST burgers in Kona of not the whole island!! Not greasy, full of flavor, NOT FROZEN Patty! Service is really friendly & helpful. I was amazed!! They even have plant based menu that is equally tasty!

Been on this island since last week. Hubby and I finally tried this place tonight and this is hands down the best thing we've eaten thus far! Amazing, fresh, and delicious burgers and fries! The meat was definitely high quality. I'm usually a crinkle-cut fries kinda girl but the shoestring fries were delicious. The service was great and the restaurant had both indoor and outdoor dining. The only problem I have was not eating here sooner!

The reviews were so good that I had to try. Burger was ok. Nice and big. Fries were very disappointing. Very small serving for $4.75. I like to support local that also supports local. Just give a little more back to your supporters.

Here's what you need to know: it's really, really good. As good as some of the best burger joints on the mainland. It's very reasonably priced for local beef and fish, they have a great rewards program and good portions. But most of all, it's really tasty. Service is great too. We've tried the cheeseburgers, fries, with and without bacon and it was all good. The fresh squeezed lemonade is great too. Such a great change of pace from 2 weeks of indulging on the beat poke and sushi :)

Usually is easy in, quick order, and fast service. They have best fries I've ever had, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Good burger place. The burger was big and juicy. The fries were well seasoned and everything tasted fresh. And idk what that sauce was that they served with the fries, but it was absolutely delish! I would buy some of that stuff to take home with me. I also got a lemonade, I would pass on this. It tasted just like any other store bought lemonade. There was a couple of guys working the front and kitchen. The whole time they were working hard with friendly smiles. I'd go here again. Oh and burger and fries are sold separately.

If there was a zero star option, I would have given them zero stars. The overall cleanliness of this place was awful. The seats were extremely messy and I could barely bring myself to sit on them, the floor was also very sticky and had a layer of filth on it. On top of all that I was 3 bites into my burger when I realized that there was a piece of paper cooked into the whole burger, and when I asked for a new burger they were very annoyed with me and it took 25 minutes to get a new burger. Overall horrible experience at ultimate burger 0/5 would not recommend.

One of The Best Cheeseburgers that I have ever had. Amazing Fresh Beef I ordered The Double It was Insane. The Fries are a 9.8 . Fresh cut & crispy. Their secret sauce is to Die For. Kailua-Kona This is A Must. Pure Heaven & Aloha Voted Best Burger in the whole State for many years. I'm gonna try to copy it at home. Tillamock Cheddar Cheese Get This Burger !!! Aloha Nui Loa
