Our recent dining experience at Ultimo Bali was pleasant overall but fell short of the expectations we had based on its reputation. The restaurant has a cozy and charming ambiance, which made for a lovely setting to enjoy an evening meal. The staff were warm and welcoming, and they checked in on us regularly, which was appreciated. That said, the food was a mixed bag. While a few dishes, like the pasta, were flavorful and well-prepared, others were underwhelming. The steak we ordered, for instance, was overcooked and lacked the juiciness and seasoning we anticipated. Additionally, the seafood didn’t seem as fresh as we would have liked for a place known for its quality. The portion sizes were reasonable, but the presentation felt rushed, and the overall taste left us wanting more. The pricing, unfortunately, didn’t match the quality of the food. Given the high-end vibe and the menu prices, we expected a more refined dining experience. The long waiting times between courses also dampened the experience, especially since the restaurant was not overly crowded during our visit. Despite these shortcomings, there were some redeeming aspects. The dessert we ordered was delightful and presented beautifully, and the staff’s attentiveness helped smooth over some of the disappointments. Overall, Ultimo Bali has a lot of potential, but it seems to be falling short in consistency and quality. While it wasn’t a bad experience, it wasn’t exceptional either. For those seeking a beautiful ambiance and decent service, it’s worth a try, but don’t set your expectations too high when it comes to the food.

A true Italian gourmet restaurant that includes an excellent menu and wine list. Service is friendly and good and the overall food variety and menu selection is excellent. Super tasty and a real experience!

The food wasn’t bad (although the pasta was super spicy) but it took 40 minutes to come! For a pasta and a small dish. When we complained they said they had larger groups before us but at least, they could had told us before ordering, just because we had an appointment that we couldn’t attend. They didn’t make us any discount more than “sorry”, total lack of respect.

Ultimo is hard to missed in jalan kayu aya seminyak, everyone who knows bali will recognize ultimo since the 90s. That said, this is my second time dine in ultimo, the food was not as i expected, the pasta felt a bit bland and the other non pasta dish was okay, the fish was better tho. The staff was really friendly and helpful, and we love the ambience. Better cooking will makes this place much more appealing and surely will survive another century in bali.

My husband & l had a really wonderful dining experience at Ultimo. We went there for our Wedding Anniversary. Food was absolutely delicious. Our waiter Ryan was fantastic. We got a complimentary dessert to share for our Anniversary, which was such a lovely surprise. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back.

We happened to go there for dinner. It was surprisingly nice restaurant. Very romantic ambiance for couple. Price is also reasonable for that quality of food. I was too full for late lunch. However we managed to finish the food. It's so delicious ! We really enjoyed that night !!!

Probably the best Italian joint around because the food is very good and it’s an impressive venue. Note it has a substantial number of reviews. Gripes: the wines are way overpriced $19 for a glass of average Sauvignon Blanc (Au). The desserts are beautifully presented but need a ‘tweak’ by an Italian chef / Patisserie wizard. Tiramisu cost about the same as Au. The 300g lobsters were probably more like 250g. There were too many ‘birthdays’ (Let’s get a free cup cake). Goods: Meals were all good. Salads, BBG jumbo prawns, Lobster, Gnocchi , Steaks. Pastas looked good too. Lovey modern venue after they moved 3 yrs ago from the original large ground floor place. Last visit was 9 years ago then it was excellent. While this is a more expensive place compared to most, it’s still good value. Figure on $45-$85 per person if yr getting 3 courses.
