"Connect the Cultural Dots Dot painting is a style of indigenous art often associated with the Aboriginal people of Central Australia. The Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre hosts daily dot painting workshops which go beyond the arts and crafts and delve into the cultural import of this tradition; workshops are hosted by Aboriginal artists who begin each program with stories of life spent in the Northern Territory and how that life influences their art. These programs are an incredible opportunity to glimpse at living tradition, and help bring the desert to life. Workshops at Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre run from Monday through Friday. Flash Parker traveled to Australia’s Northern Territory courtesy of Tourism Northern Territory and Goway Travel. His highlights are part of AFAR's partnership with The United States Tour Operator Association (USTOA), whose members provide travelers with unparalleled access, insider knowledge, peace-of-mind, value and freedom to enjoy destinations across the entire globe."

About a 40-minute walk from Uluru, you’d find an information center, a café/souvenir shop & several galleries showcasing indigenous art. The area also had useful facilities, including restrooms and drinking water.

Interesting and very informative if you take the time to read everything. Lots of shop where you can buy aboriginal art.

I think more people should come here and see this wonderful cultural centre. It has been built in a way that compliments the environment. You walk through and read the story about the area and then have an opportunity to purchase beautiful items made by traditional people. This should be put on more tours.

A must stop during your stay in the Red Centre. Amazing food and friendly staff. We had meat pies on our first visit with 2 flat whites which were made with great expertise! We came back for more, their fresh juices are a must try as are their baked goods. Rani and Will were great. We also bought some art which was very well priced and there was a large variety to choose from all made by local artists.

Spectacular to find such a wonderful tourist guide behind the wheel of our tour to Uluru/Ayers Rock 💗 The experience was top-notch because Rachel a music teacher from the UK who now resides in Yulara, NT and works at Siet Tours gave us a narrative of the area, but it was not a 'talking one', it was words coming out from her heart ❤️ We could notice nothing more than the love she has for Uluru/Ayers Rock NT. Rachel is a true gem to keep as a Tourist guide! Besides the amazing experience with Rachel, she selected music from local artists relevant to the tour and to the history of Kata Tjuta; how an incredible and touching experience!! Thank you, Rachel!

Walking around the rock was absolutely amazing, we were blown away. The Cultural centre on the other hand was a huge letdown. Having plans to buy some traditional Aboriginal items was quickly put on hold because everything was made in either China or Indonesia. Another huge letdown was the fact that no Aboriginal people were to be seen in the Cultural centre, it was back packers or white people which absolutely made a mockery of the place Such a shame

Yelp
There is no fee to get in and all they ask is for you to respect them and not take pictures inside. You may take pictures outside though. It's a small cultural center but I liked it. Lots of aborigine history, culture, arts and crafts, and stories about Uluru. It's very informative. They have a small cafe that sells coffee, latte, tea, meat pies, chips, soda, water and snacks. They only have 2 ladies working there so, be patient and kind. There is a souvenir store where you can buy shirts, magnets, books, pens, headbands, etc. They also have an aborigine art store where you can buy items made of eucalyptus (you'll smell it), paintings, decors, etc. They have bathrooms should you need to use the loo.

Yelp
If you are in the area, you should stop by and learn about the region and local people. No pictures allowed inside. It didn't really appear to be open when we arrived. The gift shop has some nice items and there were two ladies sitting on the floor creating Dot Paintings. Doesn't take more than 30-45 minutes.
