THE BEST PART OF YOUR BALI TRIP !!! Visit to Uluwatu temple and witnessing the Kecak dance should be the number one priority of every tourist. We were extremely lucky to have secured the 6pm show tickets booked just a few hours ahead of the show. We also got the best possible seats when we got there. The demand for the 6pm show is unreal and tickets must be bought beforehand. People who are familiar with the mythology of Ramayana can relate so very well the the performance. The synopsis of the play is provided as a leaflet along with the tickets. The voice artists are the main stars of the show in my opinion. The name of the dance itself comes from the 'chak chak' sound they make throughout the play. The performers who played Sita, Hanuman, Ravan, Rama and Laxman are exceptionally talented. The cliff side open amphitheatre brings out the true Balinese vibes. The sunset in the horizon creates a magical backdrop. The seats fill up within minutes. People sometimes have to sit on the floor and passage ways too. The bonus of sitting right in front (the lowest step) is the chance to interact with Hanuman during the play. Like we did. Visit to Bali is incomplete without this.

Watching the Kecak Fire Dance at Uluwatu was such a fun experience! The performers interact with the audience, making the show entertaining, and the fire part was just amazing. Overall, the performance was really good. We got there around 5:30 pm for the tour with Get Your Guide, and then waited almost an hour in line between the tour and the dance, since the place gets really crowded — but we still managed to get great seats. The dance ran from 7:30 to 8:30 pm. Just be careful with the monkeys during the tour! The guides warn about it, but one of them grabbed a girl’s phone from our group. Luckily, our experienced guide was able to get it back.

If you are in Bali, then watching the Kecak dance in Uluwatu Temple is a must watch. It is a majestic and unique dance show infront of ocean over one of the most beautiful sunset ever. It is highly recommended to book the first show for 6pm and to book tickets in advance. On the spot tickets for the first show would have a long queue. Also need to arrive around 5pm at the venue if you want the best spot.

If you're in Bali and looking for something truly unforgettable, the Kecak Fire Dance at Uluwatu Temple is hands-down one of the best experiences you'll have! Picture this: You're sitting in an open-air clifftop amphitheater perched high above the crashing Indian Ocean. As the golden sun slowly sets, painting the sky in shades of orange, pink, and purple, around 50+ Balinese men in checkered sarongs form a massive circle and begin their hypnotic "cak-cak-cak" chanting — no instruments, just pure human rhythm and energy! The performance tells the epic Ramayana story with incredible drama, intense movements, and that iconic trance-like vibe. And when the fire comes in during the climax — Hanoman setting the stage ablaze — the combination of swirling flames, dramatic silhouettes, and the ocean backdrop is simply jaw-dropping!

Great place to see the sunset. Arrive early to get a good spot and see the sunset. The Kecak Dance was absolutely mesmerizing the rhythmic chanting, the energy of the performers, the beautiful costumes and the sunset backdrop created pure magic. It’s not just a show, it’s a glimpse into Balinese tradition and spirituality. The coordination of dozens of voices in perfect harmony was impressive.

It was a nice experience. We booked tickets through trip.com for around 7 eur pp (u still need to pay entrance to temple ticket, 50k pp). We arrived 5:30 pm for the 6pm show and it was fully packed we hardly managed to find good sests. 6pm show is better and scenic with the sunset. It's dark for 7pm show and lots of monkeys in the area. The show itself was ok, i think it was telling a story. Was a bit boring until the monkey-like fella in white clothes came in and interacted with the attendees. Would give it 7/10.

Absolutely unforgettable experience. The Kecak dance at Uluwatu is raw, powerful, and deeply spiritual. The rhythmic chanting, the fire, and the dramatic storytelling create an intense atmosphere that pulls you in from the first minute. Watching it at sunset, with the ocean cliffs as a backdrop, makes it even more magical. Crowded, yes—but 100% worth it. A must-see in Bali.

The Uluwatu Kecak Dance is a once in a lifetime experience and truly a must visit in Bali. The temple area is well maintained and well organized, with many traditional officers ensuring everything runs smoothly, even with the presence of many wild monkeys around the site. The Kecak dance itself is captivating and energetic, and the Hanuman performance is especially impressive, leaving the audience amazed throughout the show
