A very unique ryokan with a very enthusiastic and dedicated lady boss. They have a lot of activities you can try, like making your own nigiri sushi, or trying on Tango chirimen silk kimono. The lady boss also set up a souvenir corner, where you can buy a few pieces of chirimen silk cut from old kimono, makes a great souvenir. ||||Meals were delectable scrumptious. As the ryokan is by the sea, most of it was freshly caught seafood. There was fish shabu-shabu, crab, live abalone that's freshly grilled (you might feel sad at first, but it's so delicious), kisu fish (not sure what it is, and first time trying, but it was amazing). Dessert was very interesting as well, ice cream with freshly grated wasabi. Strange but oddly tasty! Breakfast was great as well.||||As the ryokan is not near much sightseeing places, you can go for a boat tour to see the surrounding sea / Blue Grotto, a cave with very blue waters. You can also see a gorgeous sunset over the ocean at Tateiwa, a few minutes drive from the ryokan. For people coming by public transport, the ryokan offers free pick up service from Kyotango Railway Amino Station.||||The place does not have many rooms, so the stay felt very personalized. They don't speak much English, but the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and make your stay a great one.
