Umbul Sigedang-Kapilaler

A must-visit destination in Klaten. There's a prayer room. Plenty of restrooms. Food is available, and ordering is easy via WhatsApp, available at each table. Oh yeah, Wi-Fi is also available.

The water here is crystal clear and refreshing. The place is very clean. The entrance fee is affordable at only IDR 10,000, and you even get a free small bottle of mineral water. Renting a life jacket costs only IDR 5,000. The food is also reasonably priced. The only downside is that access is a bit tricky because there aren't many road signs, but the place is perfect for a retreat with its fresh atmosphere and surrounding rice fields. Definitely worth visiting again!

I thought it was a restaurant like the nearby Water Gong, but it turned out to be just a rural bathing place for local young people. There are two large pools with clear water from natural springs for swimming (or bathing more precisely, because the water wasn't so deep). Entry fee: IDR 10,000.-, including a small bottle of mineral water, access to the swimming pools and fish therapy. A simple food shop and food stalls offer simple foods, snacks and drinks. There are many dining gazebos and tables. We enjoyed fried banana, fried tempe and fried bakwan, which were surprisingly yummy. Good free WiFi connection. There's no parking lot inside, so visitors must park outside at paid parking lots managed by unsmiling locals, and from there walk some 50-70 m into the place. Not much to see for tourists. Clean restrooms (with squat toilets) and musholla. Another minus: chickens wandered around the gazebos.

Umbul Kapilaler is a natural spring-fed pool with crystal clear water, boulders and shaded by banyan trees. Schools of fish live here, so it's fun to swim with them. Pool is quite spacious with depths up to 1.8m. Bring your own snorkel gear to enjoy the underwater view, we prefer this than Umbul Ponggok. Come early in weekday to enjoy this beautiful spring to the fullest. Warungs nearby provide cheap and tasty snacks and hot tea. Actually Umbul Sigedang and Umbul Kapilaler is located side by side. The spring is in Umbul Sigedang, formed in to a shallow pool, and a small canal feeds into Umbul Kapilaler, which flows towards Umbul Cokro. There are many parking spots run by local villagers, just follow the signs.

one of the best umbul in Klaten. crowded as usual on the weekend. they serve the best spinach fries as the snack, my fav. must go and visit. so refreshing.

The atmosphere is cool, there are 2 swimming pools with a certain depth. There are plenty of food stalls as well. Don't worry about hunger

It is definitely one of my favourite spots to relax, refresh, and recharge. I always come very early in the morning, and fasting month is also a blissful time to visit such place. Sigedang is relatively more natural looking than Ponggok. I hope it does not get more "made" than now. I still find some trashes inside the pool and also on the surrounding. I hope all visitors and local communities get enlightened of how important cleanliness and natural environment are - so that they care for and preserve the environment. It would be more lovely if smoking is strictly prohibited, then the air would be perfect. Local communities who run businesses in the area are lovely, kind and polite. Those characteristics are truly crucial for tourism destinations as they add to the image of the local and also national communities. Sigedang and its neighbouring areas have extensive and immense potentials. Let's preserve it dearly
