That place is exactly what you are looking for if you wanna enjoy real Japanese cuisine. The decoration feels like you visit Japan and the taste of the serving food just one of a kind. The ladies that served us polite and helpful. The food remarkable. Highly recommended !!!!

The food here is absolutely delicious and tastes so authentic every dish feels like it’s been made with care. The flavours are rich and balanced, and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. The staff are incredibly sweet and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. The cosy atmosphere adds to the charm, making it a place you want to come back to again and again.

Very lovely place, very nice service; ordered the chashu stone bowl rice, and it came out sizzling and beautiful, truly like a dream. Just wish it came with more actual chashu—after I mixed everything in, I would say only about half of my bites consisted of anything more than rice and like, 1 picked vegetable. Still, the presentation was fantastic, so if you're not as picky as I am about your rice proportions, I would definitely recommend.

An overpriced unauthentic Japanese eatery serving up overpriced ramen and maki rolls. Fish quality is ok though. But they only allow you a bit more than one hour for dinner!

Beautiful little place. We stumbled upon it while looking for somewhere nice to eat in Edinburgh. We had food allergies in our group and we were very well looked after in that regards. The service was fantastic, staff were friendly and helpful, very nice to our children as well. The food was out of this world and the prices for a party of 4 were affordable. The Food service was fast and efficient, we didn't have to wait long for our food. It was very busy and we only had to wait under 10 minutes for a table, without booking but I would definitely recommend booking a table. Looking forward to my next visit as there are many more things I would like to try from the menu. Definitely recommend the ramen, it was soul healing.

Umi serves wonderfully fresh seafood and didn’t disappoint. I especially loved the shrimp spring roll and the salmon avocado seaweed with rice — both were flavorful, light, and beautifully prepared. A great spot if you’re craving sushi or seafood done right. Small portions as with most Japanese food so order accordingly. Staff were attentive and service was wonderful.

Absolutely wonderful place. Coming with food allergy to try out new place is always scary, and staff took care of my fear from literally first few minutes. Awareness of the allergies and possible cross contamination issues was to the highest level. Staff members were kind and sweet. I felt well looked after. Then the food arrive and it was absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend and get back.

WOW GREAT FOOD GREAT SERVICE. Stumbled upon this place by walking by, you won’t be disappointed. The katsu curry was fresh and tasty, Salmon Carpaccio was my wife’s best she has had plus her pick of the Tempura Prawns was also amazing. Thanks
