Accommodation was excellent. Rooms very comfortable and cleanliness outstanding. Our stay was very relaxing with the use of massage chairs, onsen, guest relaxation room, private beach and transfers to the train station. The breakfasts were amazing. The staff were simply the best and we felt very cared for. We visited in Spring and the town was very quiet. Will definitely recommend to anyone wanting to experience a quiet seaside location near Kinosaki Onsen.

Stayed here in March for an overnight stop and it was one of the best places we stayed in Japan. Big room with a view, lovely food and very good onsen. Super friendly staff who picked us up and took us to the station. Reckon it would be a great place to stay longer in summer.

My wife and I stayed here last week with four other family members and this was the highlight of our 2 week stay in Japan. The owner/hostess and staff were polite, accommodating and very friendly. The food was delicious, rooms were clean and comfortable, the onsens were relaxing and the views overlooking the ocean at night were spectacular. Our only regret was we couldn't stay longer. The town was a bit of a drive from Kyoto but definitely worth the trip. The beaches were clean, not overcrowded (practically empty since we arrived on a Sunday afternoon) and the town was very friendly. We highly recommend you visit Uminone!

We loved our stay in Uminone. It was everything we imagined about a traditional guesthouse. They serve a japanese aswell a western style breakfast, both were delicious. In the evening you can book dinner too. The staff was very friendly and helped us with all our wishes. The two aspects we didn‘t like were the rather old interior in the hallways and the train which has an irregular schedule. We‘d come again.

The beach is beautiful and the snorkel and canoeing was amazing! Many kind people at Uminone. We had a beautiful time there! I wish I had a kettle and water in my room. It was so hot! But the sea water was perfect for cooling down.

We (my son and I) spent one night at this great ryoken and if we knew how nice the place was we would have planned a longer stay!|The ryokan is in a traditional Japanese style with rice paper sliding doors, madrases on the floor and mats on the floors. Everything very simple, elegant and comfortable. |There is an onsen (hot spring) at the ryokan which makes it a perfect place for relaxation. There is nothing better then soaking in hot water in the morning, before going out to explore the nature around Takone, and in the evening, after a long day of activities. |The ryokan is located right at the beach and you can see the sea and hear the waves from your room window - extremely nice! If you happen to be there during summer, you will have the great experience of bathing in Japanese Sea. We were there in April and water was too cold so we enjoyed walking at the beach instead. |In the morning we were served a delicious breakfast: lots of Japanese specialists, fried fish and freshly made smoothie with fruit, soy milk, sweat sake one charcoal on top - a real treat!|And last but not least - the awesome owners who made our stay unforgettable with their kindness, helpfulness and positivity. Japanese people must be the kindest people in the world and the owners of Uminone ryokan are the nicest amongst them all! |We loved the place!

We were really lucky to find this very special place. To summarise the owners/hosts were magnificent and attentive. Providing a pick up and drop off service at the train station. ||The view from the rooms are amazing. It is right on the side of the sea with a beautiful beach. ||There is a hot spa pool which is very hot.||The food was amazing, we had breakfast and evening meal. There was great attention to detail with this. You can for a day trip easily walk to the station for a train trip to the next town with hot springs. But it’s lovely to come back to the tranquility of this place.||The owners made us a packed breakfast on our last morning due to early start.||There is a cute coffee shop at the station and a small supermarket close to station selling all the things you could need.

Yelp
Uminone inn is amazing! We honestly had no idea what we were walking into and we were blown away. It's a complete Japanese cultural immersion like you wouldn't believe. The service and food is impeccable. Breakfast and dinner are massive tasting menus, with about 20 items at each sitting. We splurged and got the crab dinner feast and it did not disappoint! Be ready to eat a lot of different kind of food (raw egg, baby squid, seaweed, kaminote, pickled plum) alongside more traditional, and expected, Japanese cuisine (sashimi, steamed crab, fruit smoothie, tofu, potatoes, salad, ice cream). And the plum juice, OMG!!!! Oh, and the view!!! Our room overlooked the ocean, a perfect Japanese ocean at that! If you're going to kinosakionsen, consider staying here. It's a 9 minute, one stop, train ride. The town is tiny and charming, and the ocean view alone is worth the short commute!
