Fantastic stay and exceptional value. The location is unbeatable—right next to Bologna Centrale, perfect for trains and short stays. We were pleasantly upgraded for free to an executive room: spacious, very clean, and comfortably warm (important in winter). Breakfast is excellent and well above expectations: barista-style coffee made to order, plenty of sweet options Italian-style, but also proper savory food like eggs and cheese. Checkout at noon is a real plus, allowing a relaxed morning. They stored our luggage without any hassle and even offer a complimentary snack area in the lobby with good coffee and pear juice—small touch, but very well done. Paid €120 for 2 adults and a child on 26 December, peak holiday period. For that price, it’s a steal.

Needed a hotel near the train station and this was perfect. It's directly across the street, so easy walk to the train and the monorail to the airport. Room was very clean and comfortable. Bed was great, shower was fantastic. Color scheme was a bit garish, but could live with it for a night.

This was hands down the rudest service we’ve experienced anywhere in Italy. At check-in, Veronica and her colleague spent more time muttering and laughing amongst themselves than acknowledging us despite clearly speaking excellent English. We stood at the front desk for several minutes, completely ignored, until they finally bothered to process our check in with the snarkiest, least customer-centric attitude imaginable. We’ve stayed in Italy many times and never experienced this level of bad service. It felt like they didn’t even want guests staying at their hotel.||Check-in was delayed by 30 minutes, and we were told we’d been “upgraded.” In reality, we were put in an accessible room—completely unsuitable unless you need one. The shower setup was impractical, the room reeked of an overpowering artificial perfume, and the lights flickered constantly. The room and bathroom weren’t even fully clean. To make things worse, the bedside lamp was angled to shine directly into your eyes.||For a so called upscale hotel, the details were shockingly cheap: a prompt instructing guests not to use too much Wi-Fi (as if a modern hotel should have limits on internet usage). Not to mention they only gave us one water in the room and there were 3 guests. Sorry, but at $500 a night, that’s all laughable.||Final verdict: we paid luxury prices for a budget-level stay. The only redeeming qualities were the kind bar staff and the breakfast selection. If you value your time and money, look elsewhere, Starhotels or Mercure are infinitely better choices in the same location for the same price point.||Stay away from Hotel Una. You’ll regret it.

We stayed here for two nights while travelling by train in northern Italy. It is ideally located just across the road from the Bologna Centrale Railway Station. They could almost rely on proximity to attract guests, but this hotel is much more. One hint - look for the exit to Centro and you will come out of the station across the road. Taking the other exit will either mean re-tracing your steps (like us) or have a long walk!|We found the check in process very simple and reception staff were very friendly. Our room was truly wonderful - spacious with a polished terrazzo floor which was very cool to walk on; huge comfortable bed, reception helped us to have our favoured type of pillow; lovely bathroom; very good size bench desk area. We can’t fault this room!|Breakfast was included in our booking, and included both continental and western type foods. Great stay!

Google
A convenient location just a crosswalk away from the train station and a 10 minute walk from the historical centre. The rooms are modern, VERY clean and beds very comfortable. The hotel offered a variety of options for breakfast as well as water and coffee stations on the main floor throughout the day. I would recommend for a short stay, however if spending multiple days here I would perhaps recommend something closer to the historic centre if the walk is too much.

The service and the personell were very nice and helpful. The rooms are not as expected. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, I would say it is a 3 star, and pricing as well. The rooms needs to be better maintained. The bathrooms need to be changed the grout and there were a couple of holes in the walls in the bathroom. Better cleaning of the rooms. The floors are tiles all the way, it gets a bit cold on your feet. The linen is strange, there are no seams on the linen, and you can during the night end up laying directly in the blanket, which is unhygenic. The railway station is very near, that is good.

Reception experience was excellent. Francisco help immediately with luggage, and check in was efficient, Rooms are large and clean compare to other hotels in Europe. Breakfast was good. I Would recommend to stay at convenient location.

Large room, friendly staff and within walking distance of the main sights. Lovely breakfast to start the day. We will be back and no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others.

Yelp
Wish I could give it zero stars. Stayed here for two nights and I can't think of anything positive to say other than it's a very short walk to train station. The neighborhood is sketchy at best the hotel staff are nice enough but seem genuinely disinterested in doing anything that could be described as truly helpful. We paid over $400/night for a suite that had a noisy bed, a combo bath and shower that you have to climb to get into is dangerously slippery and lousy water pressure and a safe that doesn't work. After staying at great hotels throughout Italy this is one to be avoided. And the perfect ending to a horrible stay. Upon checkout tried to charge us $8 euros saying the powdered eggs in the buffet were not included lol. $400+ euros per night and watery fake eggs are extra charge

Yelp
I took a train from Roma Termini to Bologna and this hotel is conveniently located across the street from the train station - but use the crosswalk to the right of the train station. I booked a Superior room for myself and an Executive room for my sister and my brother-in-law. We stayed here for 2 nights after touring other cities in Italy and had tickets to Ferrari Museum in Maranello but I wasn't interested in hotels in Modena/Maranello. There's a pharmacy, Japanese restaurant, store and gelateria outside this hotel. It's within walking distance to piazzas, restaurants and shopping area. It's about a 30-minute train ride to Modena. The hotel has a modern look - glass stairs (don't worry, there is an elevator) and glass panels, modern decor and pictures on the wall. I loved my red room (my favorite color), white linens and furniture, led panel above the head of the bed - it looked sharp and it was clean. The bed was comfortable and I slept well each night. There's a small white flat-screen TV I watched BBC on (and anime dubbed in Italian - hilarious!). The bathroom was nice and contemporary. I didn't mind using the toiletries - the soap, shampoo and lotion smelled pretty good. I forgot to bring my laptop so I wasn't able to use their free wifi. Instead, I used their computer at the lobby for 8euros. The staff was great and helpful. We had an early morning flight and they got us a cab to the airport. I enjoyed my stay and would gladly recommend this hotel/ come back when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Okay - it's only been 2 out of 6 nights and I haven't walked around the entire premise or had breakfast but so far so great. **I stayed at Mercure a few months ago and completely hated my entire time there. The staff is rude and there is a male staff member there who is VERY RACIST. I am not saying that because I want to use the race card. I am saying that because he has been racist to me on three occasions.** I am mentioning the above, because this is why I decided to stay at UNA Hotel. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel at ease immediately. Always smiling and offering assistance. They speak English very well and that's always a plus when visiting a small city like Bologna. They also offer free additional things in case you forgot your own, such as a sewing set, shaving set, toothbrush with toothpaste, slippers, bathrobe etc. I removed one star because while the amenities are nice. They are pretty cheap. So give or take this hotel will go down hill because it appears that faucets etc were bought for appearance and not quality. The faucet in my room kept on falling off and there was rust around the hose. Wifi is only free for an hour, but you can pay for more time. The bed is FIRM. But that's a plus for me, because I like firm. Other guests were also really nice and not stuck up or judgmental. I love it at Una. Hopefully they keep up maintenance etc so I can return again. :)

Yelp
Booked this hotel because it was close to the train station, and also a close walk to town for a taste of Bologna. The rooms were spacious and high tech. The staff was nice overall, if you are polite to them they are polite to you. Caution only to make sure to say bongiourno and buona sera before talking about anything. The are extremely helpful, so ask them were to eat or shop! Breakfast is free, but you can't wake anything out of the dining room. So plan for enough time to eat before catching a train or starting your day! Stay at this place if you need to catch a train easily or you want a luxury hotel without luxury prices!

Yelp
i did not stay at the hotel but i wanted to write a review regarding the reception and their inability to be helpful in a time of need. i had purchased a train ticket online and instead of printing my ticket, i printed the receipt. i didn't notice my error until i was at the train station. this was totally my fault. i tried to reprint my ticket at a station kiosk, but in order to do this i needed my booking reference # which could only be located by opening the original email. in a panic i left the train station to hunt for a place with internet access so that i could retrieve this number and print my boarding document. conveniently across from the train station is the una hotel. i asked the lady at the reception desk for help. i explained my situation and acknowledged that i was not a guest at the hotel. i asked if it was possible to pay for the internet access as i needed it for less than 5 minutes, but was willing to pay for the regular guest fees. she refused. she explained that the internet was only for guests. i said i understood but was asking her to help as my situation was semi urgent and i didn't want to miss my train. she then got her manager who also refused to help me. look, i understand rules. i 100% accept responsibility for my error on printing my ticket and this not being una hotel's problem. however, i am completely appalled that the people working here were clearly incapable of being helpful or showing any sign of compassion. for this reason i wanted to inform any potential clients of the absurdity i experienced by coming to this hotel.
