Unbridled Retreats

My experience at The Unbridled Retreat with Devon Combs at The Four Seasons Sensei, Lānaʻi, Hawaii, was beyond extraordinary. This was my very first experience on a retreat with horses, and it changed me in a way that will stay with me forever. Under Devon’s grounded, intuitive guidance, the horses became profound teachers offering clarity, emotional healing, and insight in a way that deepened the experience unlike anything I had ever known. The group of amazing women Devon brought together was equally incredible, creating genuine connection, openness, and support that further deepened the experience in a meaningful and lasting way. Starting each day in paradise, mornings began with breakfast at Nobu overlooking a breathtaking koi pond, framed by the Sensei forest, tranquil lakes, and serene grounds. Beyond Devon’s retreat itself, the classes and activities, the extraordinary staff, and the spa were all so exceptional that they are almost impossible to put into words. Dining at Sensei by Nobu, combined with the holistic wellness offerings, and Devon Combs classes created beyond exceptional wellness, nothing compares to this experience. I left feeling beyond calm, clearer, and more whole than I had in years. This was not simply a retreat, it was truly transformative, and an experience that will remain with me for life. This is the kind of journey you don’t do just once, it stays with you and invites you back.

I am so grateful I had the opportunity to go on one of Devon's retreats in AZ this past February. Every moment of our retreat was a magical experience. Devon is truly gifted at what she does and honors her calling to help others in this uniquely profound way. It has been a few weeks since I left the retreat and I still look at my photos every day. The women, the horses, and the beautiful ranch have left an imprint forever in my heart. I have traveled all over, but this was by far my favorite trip ever because of the overall experience. There was laughter, tears, connection and so much joy. I hope to attend one again and I can think of about a dozen or more people I could easily recommend this to! Devon is a wonderful leader and her retreats are truly special!

I had the chance to attend the Unbridled Retreat at Devils Thumb Ranch in CO this year and had an experience of a lifetime. The lessons learned and time to focus on myself during the equine therapy session were something that will stay with me forever, and have helped put a new perspective on life. My husband found this retreat for me after watching helplessly for far too long as I floundered in the overwhelming existence that comes with being a full-time working mom with three young kids and internal struggles of my own that I had battled for years. I went into it not knowing all that much about Unbridled or what to expect from the retreat, and yet this experience has changed my life in so many ways that are still reverberating over a year after the retreat that I attended. What I found in Devon, Sara, and the most amazing group of women I've ever had the pleasure to know was a level of support and inspiration that I hadn't even realized I needed. I found a few glorious days of much sought-after rest, relaxation, and self-reflection of the deepest kind that can only come from being surrounded by fierce and loving women giving me the opportunity, ground work, and encouragement to face hard truths and find what I so desperately needed deep inside of me to bring about changes -- changes that have allowed me to choose ME for once and focus on my well-being. I could have never guessed the ripple effects it would have on every aspect of my life since. Within weeks of leaving the retreat, I fulfilled a life-long dream and bought my first horse (if you knew me, you'd know how huge this is). That alone has brought so much joy and positivity (and therapy!) into my life. But, I also started setting boundaries. I started dedicating time to building the relationships I've always desired with those I love, and never once have forgotten to also take care of myself. I've seen positive changes in my children as a result. My marriage is the strongest it's ever been. And at the stables where I keep my horse, I have built a community of incredible like-minded and supportive women that I know will be dear, close friends of mine for the rest of my life. We are each other's people, and I feel grateful and lucky every single day for these gals. I still practice grounding myself in the way that Devon taught me to. I pause -- often -- and reflect. Is it always easy? Of course not, but I give myself the time, space, and grace to consider what is best for me and those that I love. I am still in touch with women from my retreat, and Devon (rock stars, all of you). The support never goes away and never falters. And I'm already looking into the next retreat that I can join. All because I took a chance on a gentle suggestion from my husband. If you're on the fence about attending one of the Unbridled retreats, hop off and give yourself the best gift you can ever receive, and don't look back. You will never regret it. To Devon, Sara, and all of the women from my retreat: you found me at my darkest time, and you brought all the light, and Sunshine ;) You will all have such a special place in my heart forever.

Finding Unbridled Retreats with Devon was one of the absolute best things to happen in my life. I knew I needed a break and a reset and even though I had never ridden a horse, this was everything I needed and more! When I got there and starting meeting the wonderful women and horses, I knew I was in the right place. Devon and her assistant, Vickie, were gentle, kind, great listeners, straight forward, and get stuff done ladies. Everyday had activities, and each activity was helpful, thoughtful, unique, and engaging. You don't come to this retreat for the rides (although a bonus), you come to learn, open yourself up, find new ways to look at life, be open with horses, relax, breathe, and have fun. Let me not forget to thank the horses for being patient, calm, understanding and the best partners in this retreat. Sylvan Dale Ranch was nostalgic with great food, simplicity and the whole place was just us! The staff are patient, knowledgeable, helpful and wonderful. Trail rides, yoga, circle time, active listening, trotting, massage, smores, line dancing and more! If you are ready to be open, learn, try new things, and have fun with a powerful woman leading you, then this retreat is for you!

I had the most incredible experience with horses and other women at the Unbridled Retreat last week at the White Stallion Ranch in Tucson, AZ! No words can describe the profound interactions with the intuitive horses and support from other women, very enlightening. I was amazed at both the horses and women – never have I felt part of a group that quickly grew so close over short period of time and was so welcoming. Devon has a gift unlike anything I’ve seen. I not only got what I needed from the retreat, but I got so much more to launch the next phase of my life! Thank you!
