Uncle Abs is a really cool spot with a super chill vibe. I had the cheeseburger, zucchini sticks, and dry ribs—everything was solid, but the zucchini sticks especially stood out. Crispy, flavorful, and honestly, some of the best I’ve had. Service was fantastic—friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Great place to hang out, grab some good food and drinks. I’ll definitely be back!

Cool spot that knows what it is and does it perfectly. Comfortable, cozy, unpretentious. Beer was cold and cheap, fries were amazing, service was chill and friendly. Will be back.

Great ambience and staffs. Special mention to Max who went an extra mile with his service. The happy hour menu until 6pm offers some classic beers like PBR and house lager (do try, it’s delicious). They have limited but good beers on tap and a wide variety of drinks choose from. The patio is covered and pet friendly.

Wanted to give a huge thank you to the server/bartender who was working last night! We came in close to closing time with a large party, and even though she was working alone and I know we were a handful, she was able to accommodate us with so much grace and professionalism! We had such a special night and felt so lucky to celebrate at such an iconic Main Street spot.

The place is what it is. Cheap, comfy and good you always see locals in the spot. And they love dogs in the patio. The only thing is the outside tables they always are dirty 😞 But beside of that it's a really good place. I like more the fries than the nachos but give a try on your own.

The burger was amazing, which comes from Monarch. However, the waitress was very unfriendly and rude. She had the nerve to roll her eyes at me when I asked her politely if the door could be closed as it was not warm. We will never return to that place as she was too rude for my liking.

Google
Good bar with good vibes. This is an unassuming bar with a fantastic happy hour selection. Also service is fantastic despite definitely having only one person working on the floor. Food options are limited, but they get their food from the Shawarma place next door. Beers for $5 and cocktails for $8 are the highlight for their happy hour and definitely worth a stop on a hot day.

Thank god that amidst all of the cringe upscale stuff popping up in the area that Abe's is still around. Can't beat it for a regular place to meet up with friends at night and have a drink. Can be loud when it's busy but it's never been "screaming" loud. Patio during the summer helps a lot, too!

Yelp
Unfortunately disappoints me to have to write this.. Forewarned..a longer review than usual but only because of how rude the server was and how disappointing this experience was. I live just off main and I used to goto Abe's every now and again for a low key drink, always chill and good service. However, I haven't really been there in probably over a year and it's gone incrediblyyyy down hill. The server was so rude!!..honestly shockingly so. She made my drink wrong. (Nothing huge.. i admit it, it was a marg I asked for no salt on the rim, but I mentioned it three times while ordering because I just really don't enjoy my margs with salt and I know that's how they come usually.. she acknowledged..). It came with salt, figured I would just mention it and she would remake it; it was kinda busy though and she was the only server so I just kind of pushed my drink back towards the bar subtly to try to get her attention it wasn't correct. Didn't want to be rude and wave my hand in the air or call her out in-front of everyone. I waited 25 minutes and she didn't come to check up ONCE. I tried..but I couldn't subtly get her attention in a polite way. My friend and I decided to leave - nearly 30 minutes of not being checked on once or getting an opportunity to re-order. We asked for the bill and my friend paid her bill but she tried to charge me for my incorrect drink (without a single taken sip) and said I could have asked her or told her. I told her i tried for 25 minutes to politely get her attention, acknowledging its busy, but she checked on others and not us. She continued to insinuate her not listening was my fault and error. No offence - but I'm not paying for an incorrect drink when she couldn't bother to check in once, I gave her nearly 30 minute to do a simple check in. Her attitude and response so was rude and condescending I'm honestly quite appalled someone like that is employed in a public/ service industry facing job. To make matters worse, some random customers beside us also said rude condescending and uncalled for comments, insinuating for us to get out as if we were the problem (without even knowing the situation might I add..). I frequent a lot of restaurants and bars on the regular and rave on my faves and love to bring friends, family and work colleagues to spread the word on good businesses with good food or drinks or service or hopefully all 3! Unfortunately I will most definitely not be coming back here again or ever recommending Abe's to anyone anymore.

Yelp
Sometimes I think about Uncle Abe's when I am having trouble at work and it helps me. My job is very demanding and physically taxing. My office has no windows. I often think "Wow, I can't wait to go to Uncle Abe's." Thank you for being there for me and my family.

Yelp
Great place for drinks, no food. It's quite small, but I can firmly day they have the best spicy margaritas around. I think uts called the Thai or Chill margaritas. They go down fast!!! Try during happy hour for only$8. They have a small patio which is shared with a near by Mediterranean place. U can order food from there and drinks feom Abe's.

Yelp
Uncle Abe didn't get any reviews for a while, but it is a great spot to go for a drink/quick meal. I sat down on one of the sofas and totally sank into it! What I loved: - No sports tele - sometimes it's nice to relax without watching athletes. - You can pop next door and grab some seriously tasty Mediterranean food. It only takes them a few minutes to get it ready, the the flavours are fab. We loved the lamb shank and the veggy plate. - It looks like they have good happy hour deals, but it's not pricey even if you come at less 'happy' times. The wall of art reminds me of my aunty Nonie in Ireland. (She wasn't really my aunty, but she was a cool old lady who sort of adopted our family) Every inch the walls in her home was covered in chocolate box art like this. That is a pretty random thought, but it made me smile.

Yelp
Always pass by after work, finally tried Abe's waiting till my resos at another restaurant. Very satisfied, loved the art work on the wall. Definitely be back.

Yelp
Great spot for happy hour specials, it's small but usually packed with fun vibes. You can't go wrong with 3$ pickle backs! I always have a good time here, love the casual vibe of getting your own drinks and not being hampered by someone seeking up sells and tips.

Yelp
Great bartenders cool atmosphere. Promised cute dog petting zoo...sadly none. Im reducing the 1/2 a point to reflect this. To whom it may concern Thank you.

Yelp
Great drinks. Great Food. Great Vibes. All the bartenders I have met here really know their stuff, plus double cocktails are only $6 during happy hour! The solid selection of affordable local beers will ensure you can keep the good times rolling until late in the night. Plus, Mitra's Canteen next door serves up some of the best shawarma in the city (try the shawarma fries if you want some interesting pub food to enjoy alongside your beer). The laid-back, unpretentious vibe creates the perfect atmosphere for a great afternoon or evening on Main.

Yelp
Went here , drinks were good, food arrived about 5 mins after we ordered. Was dry and stale. Service was terrible. I was really hoping for this to be a cool place as its in my neighborhood. I'll pass next time. The hammered people yelling and making out at the bar at a mere 730pm was a special treat . Pass

Yelp
It's like getting drunk in your grandma's basement which is somehow connected to a middle eastern restaurant. Easily the best patio on Main Street. You almost forget you live in an impossibly expensive yet lame city for a brief moment, the whiskey helps with that too.

Yelp
Okay I went back this evening perhaps it was the time between 6:30 and 8pm on a Sunday but the service was great and the music was at a level that guests could hold a conversation. My visit this evening was far better than my last visit. I was pleasantly surprised. If the level of music is kept at a reasonable level this place could match many of the neighbourhood bars in Portland Oregon and New York. I will return and hopefully I can enjoy beverages with friends along with conversation as I did this evening.

Yelp
I've walked by this place for years, literally years. I finally came here after a long time.I came here for drinks with a friend as part of our monthly meet and greet sort of thing. He was impressed with the drinks. I ordered a salad and a small bite plate. both were okay, nothing to write home about. I wouldn't dismiss this place right away but it has a long way to go.

Yelp
I'm happy that this has become the local dive bar for my neighbourhood. I can bring in some takeout, or grab a shawarma or felafel next door and enjoy a Happy Hour beer and perhaps play a board game or people watch. It's an easy place to feel comfortable, like a basement living room that hasn't changed since the 70s.

Yelp
Uncle Abe's mixes really delicious cocktails, but the food options (which come from the Mitra Canteen next door) leave something to be desired. It's a good spot to stop for a drink on the way to your next stop on Main, but it's not somewhere I'd want to stay for the evening, like I did with the Rumpus Room (RIP). Try the Bramble though, it's delicious.

Yelp
Don't recommend at all. Ordered a drink, it came 15 mins later. Ordered another drink, waited over half an hour (I kid you not) and gave up. Servers seemed more interested in choosing the next song on their iPhone and discussing their plans after work than actually acknowledging customers. Waited at the counter with debit card in hand to pay and was ignored. My friends and I ended up just leaving cash on the counter and leaving, unsure if they even saw the cash, because no one would even acknowledge our existence. It's a shame cuz it's a great location and I was hoping for a new spot close to home.

Brad K.

Yelp
We live in the area so we stopped by to check this new spot out. Everyone stared at us when we walked in, the server was incredibly rude, and we ended up leaving before we even ordered. Had an awful too cool for school hipster vibe in there. Do not go here.

Ruby B.

Yelp
It's comfy and dark - good for a first date. The service leaves something to be desired. Keep an eye on your tab because a number of people have had extra drinks added to their bill. A really cool place to visit in terms of the atmosphere and comfort of the bar!

Mish H.

Yelp
Cool vibe. Always great to see places pop up on Main Street that don't have tvs or cater to a sport-watching crowd. Yummy falafel and chicken shawarma can be ordered from next door. Make sure to pick up the payphone in the back for a hilarious treat!
