I got take out from here and it tasted amazing! Very large portions and the freshest food. I thought there was a mixup when I got outside but discovered they give you so many fries that it needs its own box. The tomatoes, lettuce and onions for the burger were extremely fresh too. Very flavorful bacon and good quality beef! I encountered 3 different workers and they were all super nice! It’s hard to find a place that hits all these marks but Uncle Ernie’s sure does. I highly recommend!

We ate here on a Saturday around 2;30. There were only a handful of tables. We ordered small burgers, not the big ones that took 30 minutes; however, our food still took over 30 minutes. Another party ordered, ate and left before our food even arrived. It was very weird. The server was nice, the food was pretty good and the place was clean, but because of the time it took and the cost, I’m not sure I’d recommend it. It was $100 for 5 people to eat. A kids meal was $12. The $14 chicken tenders didn’t include fries. They were another $6. The fries portions were huge though, including the kids’ fries. They could have easily been shared. They did have a few cool games, including a neat Rube Goldberg gumball machine.

The food was fresh and hot. You get a lot of food for money. The staff was very nice and informative.

Stopped in to Uncle Ernie’s on our way to Austin Texas. I ordered a cheeseburger and my husband ordered the steak melt. Both of our meals were great! We came the night of the Cajun Seafood Fest, unknown to us so we wanted a bit for our order. But it was worth it.

*Doing a 2025 update. Food is still amazing and staff is still friendly. Also still recommending the BLT! Since I tried this place based off of google reviews I figured I might as well add my own. Our family had spent the day around the Maramec Springs area, and while making the trek back towards St. Louis we got hungry. Mom did the googling and we ended up finding a forever kind of spot. That was in 2018 and as of a couple days ago in 2022 we still frequent this establishment. The food and staff are great. There's a couple of pool tables, a bar, and some arcade style games for entertainment too. ***The zucchini fries and anything with bacon on it are definitely worth a try.*** Sadly they no longer have zucchini fries, but the spiral chips are bomb.

Google
This place deserves way more than just ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ .... The service may have been the best I've ever had and the food was top notch. I ordered the loaded spiral chips and an Ernie melt....let me just say if you've ever wanted to have a Philly cheese steak mixed with a grilled cheese sandwich. It is literally hard for me to describe how great this sandwich was.... All I can say is my sister, my Dad and I all got one. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🥰🥰🥰 My mom had a Jr. Ernie burger and was completely satisfied, which is almost never the case. It is a must try. It's totally family friendly with cheap candy games, pool and air hockey. And I may mention their pineapple juice was some of the best I've ever tasted. Put Uncle Ernie's on the trip from now on. 👍😉😉

Yelp
I had the half pound burger. I was skeptical of the 30 minute wait warning on the menu but it was worth it. It's not a smash burger. It's a flavorful, thick burger. The bacon was cooked perfectly. The spiral cut fries were also notable. Everything else was cooked well and tasty. They have Diet Dr. Pepper which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were attentive and the restrooms were clean. There was plenty of plenty of space and I would say it felt more like a restaurant with a bar than a bar with a restaurant. They also had some video games for kids. Not my thing but they have video poker.

Yelp
Time of visit was 1:15pm on a weekday. We were one of three tables occupied. waited about 7 minutes for the waitress to arrive. We both ordered a cheeseburger and fries, and the food was quite good. The problem was it took exactly one hour and two minutes from ordering until the food arrived.(had a hunch ) I felt the chef could only manage one order at a time by the time between deliveries to the other tables. To compound the poor experience was receiving zero drink refills the entire time, while watching the waitress talk to various people that walked in and out.

Yelp
Excellent all around! Food and service. I had the cheesy chicken. W/O the bun , believe me you don't need it! Yum, so good! My sister had a cheeseburger and the spiral potatoes- there were enough for all of us, same with the fries, my husband had with his hot ham and cheese. They both enjoyed their's also.

Yelp
Fast service. Very very good burgers. They are handmade for sure. Fries aren't bad, could use some seasoning. Fried pickles were ok. It's a sports bar atmosphere.

Yelp
We stopped here after visiting Meramec Caverns on a Saturday afternoon. It was me, my wife, and both of our children. The kids loved the games and the waitress was very nice and patient with them. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich, Ernie's melt sandwich, grilled cheese sandwich, fries and tator tots. We also ordered some fried green beans for an appetizer. EVERYTHING was phenomenal. Fresh, hot, and extremely tasty. My kids said it was the best grilled cheese they've ever had. I would say the Ernie's melt was up in my top 3 sandwiches of all time. The fries were fresh and the tots were hot. Overall, it was an awesome experience. If we are in Bourbon again, we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great food, large servings, and unless they are serving crab legs the service is good. Crab leg nights service is a little slow due to being very busy.

Yelp
We went there just to get some dinner and we were not expecting what we got. We ordered loaded tots and green beans for an appetizer. The green beans were probably the best fried green beans I have ever had in my life, perfectly cooked and tasted like they were fresh out of the garden. I ordered the cheesy chicken philly with bacon and I couldn't believe it. This will be our new spot everytime we go to Bourbon, MO. The service was a little slow and didn't pre-bus very well as far a bringing new drinking cups and leaving the old ones but the food MORE than made up for it, they were also starting to get busy just after we got there. Overall 10/10 will be going back.

Yelp
So far I've had take out twice from here. Let me just say their French fries are literally the best I've had that haven't been home made. They are so good. I also tried their fried shrimp, which were delicious. One of these times I'll dine in, but for now the Togo orders have been delicious and consistent.

Yelp
14 oz delicious burgers. Tasty meat! Onion rings sold separately. Ordered burger with 1/2 pound of bacon. Incredible.

Yelp
It's alright, nothing special to make me want to go back again. Food wasn't bad and it's probably better than anything else in that area.

Yelp
Great Shrimp dinner. Especially the horseradish for the cocktail sauce. Good portions.

Yelp
The Death by bacon is one of the best burgers I've ever had. 1/2 lb of bacon and 14 oz patty. After that the only thing that is needed is a nap! The chicken tenders were also huge!

Yelp
We stopped in on a Friday evening after getting our camper set up at Blue Springs. We had the Jr. Ernie Burger, Jr. Bacon Ernie Burger, Hot Ham & Cheese, spiral chips, onion rings, and homemade fries. The staff were all very nice and attentive. The restaurant was very clean and had plenty of seating inside and out. Lots of arcade games to keep kids busy. The food was really good! (And I have picky teens.) The homemade fries were a little under done and the soda wasn't super fizzy - but again - overall we will 100% be back. It was great food & great service!

Yelp
We had a super lunch at Uncle Ernie's on a Friday. Passing thru & we each had the "lunch special quarter pounder" with fries. Burger was great & lots of fries. We also had fried string beans as an app. They were great also. Our server did a super job & made good suggestions. Very affordable. We will stop again on next trip!

Yelp
I have never given five stars for a place as easily as for Ernie's. Take the Bourbon Exit off Highway 44, make a left if you are coming from St. Louis or a right if you are coming from Springfield. Continue past the Mobil gas station and stay left at the fork in the road. Two blocks later you have arrived at Ernie's. I remember eating there years ago when I worked close by but I haven't been there since they remodeled after a fire. This is Hillbilly Heaven with a twist. The place is super clean. Cable reels of varying heights function as tables and seat between 2 - 6 people. They are close enough together that you can go in a larger group and still carry on a conversation from one table to the next, but not so close that you feel cramped. The menu consists of Sandwiches with a variety of toppings, burgers and seafood. Order the crab legs if you must (they are awesome) but for a real treat order the Seafood boil. A real seafood boil like we know from our time in Louisiana and not some made from frozen, microwaved mess that we've experienced elsewhere. The real draw are the burgers. They are huge. A 14 ounce patty, a half pound of bacon and lots of cheese served on brioche bun. Ask for a to go box or share because I have yet to finish one of those things. Fries and other sides have to be ordered extra and we quickly learned to share a small basket. Usually we can't finish that either. The food is good quality and great taste. This is a fun, family friendly place. Alcoholic drinks are available but this is not a bar that serves food on the side. It's mainly a restaurant where cocktails are served should you want them. Prices are a bit higher than other places. The seafood boils start at $25 depending on the amount of seafood (you can add on if you have a larger group) and burgers and sandwiches average $8 - $10. Our recent trip just a few days ago cost us just a tad over $20 for two sandwiches. We had plenty left to take home and eat for a midnight snack. Ernie's is open 11 - 9 Wednesdays through Saturdays. They are closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Yelp
Everything was awesome, from the service, the speed, the food and prices. Word to the wise....share the spiral chips. You DON'T need an order per person!

Yelp
The burger was fabulous, and the fried pickles had nice dipping sauce choices too. Make sure you plan extra time for your stuff, as it takes a while to get your burger. Anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes. Beyond that, great stuff for a local small town restaurants

Yelp
Fun place to grab a bite & visit with friends. Good food in huge portions, friendly staff. Definitely recommend stopping by! Everything very flavorful!

Yelp
BEST BAR/PUB FOOD EVER! The "Death by Bacon" cheeseburger must be seen to be believed. Even the salads are good. And NO SMOKING NO VAPING. Yeah!

Yelp
AMAZING! I have driven through Bourbon, Mo several times a year for the last four years. And always went to other towns to eat thinking this local restaurant couldn't be that great. Boy was I wrong! Their burgers were the BEST We have ever had, hands down! I will be back for sure and if love burgers make this your destination!!! You won't be sorry!

Yelp
One of the best burgers you will ever eat. Great service and great prices. If you are ever driving through Missouri its worth stopping.

Yelp
On Thursday nights from 5pm till ? They serve up a half pound of crab legs or shrimp for around $15 to $17. With that you get a half ear corn on cob, half a piece of excellent spicy sausage and some boiled potatoes all cooked in special seasonings. Service is slow and they don't give you anything but a fork to cracked open those crab legs but heck it's worth the price if you like crab.
