Under Canvas Glacier

We enjoyed a wonderful experience at Under Canvas Glacier. The tents with private bath were spacious, comfortable, charming, and just the right level of clamping for two 65+ year olds! The food at Embers was good, and the service from all the staff was excellent and friendly. The nighttime trains might pose a challenge for some, but they didn't bother us. The wooded location was also cozy and private.

The camp itself is beautiful, and the service is great. We really liked our tent, the beds were comfortable, and the life music in the evening was are great. However, the location is terrible. The camp is right next to a major highway, which has a lot of traffic throughout the night. In addition the train goes by and is very loud several times during the night. It’s the main train line from Chicago to the West Coast. We stayed in other Under Canvas locations, which were amazing, but this one is really terrible. It’s a pity, because the concept is wonderful. But we had a very bad sleep, despite our own earplugs. I would truly not recommend staying there for the money, unless you are zero noise sensitive. But it kind of defies the purpose, considering that you want an outdoor experience in nature.

We were in a safari tent with the private bath. The space was ideally tucked in the back of the campground and seemed a bit quieter then the tents closer to the lobby tent. It was a unique camping experience and provided us with everything we needed after day activities in Glacier. While the campground does not have wifi, our Verizon service worked fine to connect and watch shows on the iPad at night. The staff were excellent. We did not encounter anyone who didnt go above and beyond with our questions and requests. We enjoyed our time here and plan to stay at other Under Canvas locations. I know some people complain about the train but it didnt bother us and the entire town hears the train all night. The campground does provide earplugs that I thought was nice.

I was shocked by how loud this location is. Our tent was just mere feet from a busy 80-mph highway, and the traffic noise (inside the tent and outside) was constant and overwhelming — nothing like the peaceful “disconnect in nature” experience advertised. My family barely slept all night. Staff offered earplugs and a noise machine instead of a real solution. This is not about being a 'light sleeper' - the constant noise during the day just increased my stress level through the roof. I had to cancel the rest of my stay after just one night, but Under Canvas refused to refund anything. Very disappointing and not as advertised. I need to mention the positives as I'd be doing a disservice to the efforts the business is making in mantaining the property: very clean and well kept, great service (besides refusing to refund) If it wasn't for the highway, this would have been a perfect experience. I am still amazed at how so few people find that level of constant noise unacceptable and how the business obtained a lodging permit. If you want to really rest and disconnect, find yourself a real hotel who stands by their quality standards.

The place was very nice and accommodating. The only downfall to this place is it is very close to a busy highway which makes it difficult|to sleep at night if you are a light sleeper. They do provide ear plugs for you, but the highway is busy. We did enjoy the tents themselves, but would probably only stay a few nights, not for a long vacation.

We are two 78 year olds who thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Under Canvas Glacier. Glamping was on my husband's bucket list and we couldn't have picked a better place for our first experience. The staff was amazing. The tents were comfortable, if rustic which is what we looked forward to. The location was perfect.. very close to the park and other attractions nearby. West Glacier village had a number of good restaurants, one being Belton Chalet. The Embers Cafe on site had a very limited menu, but everything was delicious. Special shout out to Hannah and Scott.. we enjoyed interacting with them.

Didn’t know what to expect but were very excited for Glamping. Didn’t think about no electricity or internet! Tents were very well constructed and kept us dry. |Had to keep the fire going to stay warm. So feeding fires all night long isn’t great for sleep|Other issue:right by freight trains tracks that blow horns multiple times at night and near freeway. They did give us earplugs. The staff were wonderful and the grounds very nice. Using lanterns and showering with one hand as the other pulls the chain just isn’t for me. Glad we did it but won’t repeat! Close to Glacier and Josephine’s (terrific restaurant)

I’ve been to Under the Canvas in the Grand Canyon, which was spectacular. The one near Glacier Park was much less desirable. It is very, very loud, being located near a busy road and trains that blare their horns all day and night. It’s nearly impossible to sleep. The food was much, much better at the Grand Canyon also. The tent itself though was spectacular, though.

My husband, two daughters and I visited this place for a family gathering, and while we enjoyed the afternoon and early evening barbecue with our extended family, I can't say it met my expectations overall. The barbecue area, located on the right side of the entrance, was a highlight. It has a covered spot with seating, a few fire pits where we roasted marshmallows (they even offer small s'mores packets), and a cozy setup for gatherings. There's also a small restaurant with a limited menu, which is a nice option, plus they serve ice cream. However, the tents themselves left a lot to be desired. Most don't have bathrooms, and I had to use the community restroom. While it was reasonably clean and cute, it's still a communal space. The tents are quite small with very little privacy--you can hear people walking by very clearly, and it doesn't feel like real camping or even glamping. What really shocked me was the price. My in-laws stayed in a tent with a bathroom, and it cost around $800 per night, which is absolutely ridiculous. For that price, I'd expect a luxurious hotel, not a cramped tent with limited amenities. If you prioritize comfort like I do, I honestly wouldn't recommend this place. It's far too expensive for what's offered, and I don't think it's worth the cost. It's a nice spot for a barbecue or a day outing, but not for an overnight stay.

Loud loud loud. Can't fall asleep as there are trains every 30 minutes and it's literally 100 ft off the main highway and cars are flying by at 70mph. Could be good if not for the noise. I recommend finding somewhere else to stay. Don't waste the money. I will be asking for a refund.

Great place to stay with family! Beautiful surroundings and comfortable glamping. Lobby had coffee, great teas & hot chocolate plus other activities like games/live music/smores! Staff was super helpful and I really appreciate them making extra effort to mail my lost bandana. We would definitely recommend and stay at another Under Canvas.

We LOVED Under Canvas! My husband and I love getting a "camping" feel without having to forego certain amenities like hot showers and clean restrooms, this place was AMAZING! It was a bit on the expensive side - however it was pretty similar to other accommodations in the area in price range and waaaaay nicer. All of the staff was super helpful & nice! We were surprised by the amount of activities they had each day and it was fun to be a part of them. The one thing I'll say is we weren't made aware their road up to the tents was one way, we didn't see any signs either, and when we were driving down to check out one of the employees stopped us & told us, whoops! We loved this place, we'd love to be back with our son and will definitely check out other Under Canvas locations.

What a fun place. Really like canvas tents, super friendly staff and nice bathrooms. This place is a keeper.

I absolutely loved my experience here at Under Canvas. The tent idea is so much fun. Our bed was very comfortable, room was clean, and the wood burning stove was awesome! The stove made the tent so toasty so quick. There is just something cool about a wood burning stove. Our tent did not have its own bathroom. We used the shared bathrooms and they were very well taken care of and super clean. They had coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available in the lobby. Also had some nice seating areas in the lobby tent to play games and stuff. I highly recommend staying here if you ever get the chance. Beware.... there is a train that goes by at night. It has to sound it's horn because of the crossings it makes. I am more of a sound sleeper so this was not an issue for me. They do offer ear plugs if that is an issue for you.

We booked the deluxe suite with full bathroo. we paid $700 for a single night. We expected a secluded wilderness experience with a good nights sleep. Instead we got zero sleep due to the train going by and blowing the train horn every half hour all night and the noise from the highway nearby. Plus we had really considerate neighbors who left their dog in the tenot alone barking for two hours while we tried to get some sleep. Absolute waste of money, will ne use Under Canvas again.

Located directly across from a concert pavilion that has events every night until wee hours of the morning. Not a relaxing off the grid stay. The tents have no insulation, it sounds like the concert is outside my tent.

We had good and bad experiences during our stay. The worst: We booked a teepee well in advance. When we arrived on a cold night after a long day of travel, we were disappointed after being led to a leaky teepee with sopping wet bed linens. Multiple guests were complaining of wet bedding from leaks. The staff were friendly but seemed very frazzled and disorganized, like they were all new and sort of tripping over each other. When inquiring about moving to a different type of tent, the front desk staff gave conflicting information. It took a long time and a lot of insistence on our part to finally get in touch with the manager who could make this happen. The best: The manager was awesome and helped us upgrade into the treehouse, which was absolutely amazing! Staying in the treehouse was the best, most unique hotel experience of my life. Bottom line: The small teepees are not worth the cost. Stay in the treehouse for an amazing experience!

We stayed at UnderCanvas in Glacier in July of 2022. "We" are 4 couples (mid-50's) with reservations for 3 tree house units and one standard unit Arrival and Check-in * We arrived around 4pm * Check-in was easy, most of our units were cleaned and ready * The unit for one of our couples was NOT available, they called it a missed departure, they ended up getting a larger unit after working through the confusion * All of our units were on roads where they do not allow personal vehicles. They led us to our parking area in golf carts and then loaded our luggage on the carts and took us to our units * Our parking area was up the hill from our units Location * Very close (~7 minutes) to West Glacier entrance and Going to the Sun Road * ~25 minutes from FCA Airport * ~25 minutes to Whitefish * ~40 minutes to Kalispell * IMPORTANT: One of the couples in our group had been to other Under Canvas locations - they had been to Maine and Smoky Mountains. Both of these Under Canvas locations were set far back in the woods, well off any main road. This location (Glacier), however, is right off of Highway 2 - you will hear traffic from your unit - all day and night. Check Google Maps and you can see how close it is * IMPORTANT: Great Northern Railway - trains runs frequently day and night and will blow whistle at all hours. This is loud and woke us up each night Units * We had a Treehouse unit - there is a tree in the middle of your unit * IMPORTANT: The walls and roof are canvas and units are not far apart. You will hear the people on either side of you and those walking the roads near you - much like some campsites. We were also awakened in the middle of the night due to other guests late arrival (golf cart, people talking) * The day we arrived it was in upper 80s - the unit was very warm (cooled off quickly in the evening) * Bedding is very nice, comfortable, ample blankets for cold nights * There is no electricity, but they do provide two bedside batteries to charge phones or others - lights and very small fans are also rechargeable and run from these batteries. You can swap out batteries at the lobby * IMPORTANT: In the Treehouse unit, the shower and toilet do NOT have doors - they are on the other side of the sink wall if you look at picture on the website - but are open into unit, no door / closure. Other unit types do offer more privacy. * The shower has a pull handle for use and water heats quickly, but it only runs when you are holding the handle. * Unit has several chairs, nightstands on either side of bed * Each unit has a small wood burning stove, they supply wood and started, heats unit quickly when needed * Entrance to unit has a canvas zippable door followed by a zippable netted entrance (so you can leave canvas doors open * Also has one zippable netted window for ventilation Grounds * The lobby is very nice, has a small food store, 7x24 coffee and tea, water bottles, always someone there. Also had games you could use, clothing and other items for sale, seating to relax and have a cup of coffee * Several group gathering areas with firepits, activities for the kids (games), very nice * BBQ grills you can use if you want to cook * Several bathroom and shower units are on the grounds for use (some units do not have bathrooms) - these offer a little more privacy over the doorless units in the Treehouse Food * Compared to other Under Canvas locations that our friends had been to, food offering is limited - breakfast and dinner only, walk up and pick up type of operation. Quality was ok but just a limited menu Staff * Very friendly, accommodating - always willing to help out * Very knowledgeable about Glacier and related activities - they provided great advice on when we should leave to get Many Glacier area to do some hikes, great recommendations on restaurants

ITS NOT THAT BAD --the sound from the road and train is not bad at all. Based on some of the reviews here I was expecting it to sound like it was right outside the tent. The train was quite distant, and did not keep me up. I didn't hear traffic from the road at all. Loved my experience here. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Best customer service I had in all of the glacier national park area. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and I'd likely check out another location.

The facility is on white chat. EVERYTHING was dirty and dusty. The site sits right on the highway and next to a gun range, so traffic noise and gunshots were constant. The tent next to us could have been ok, but they had small kids that we were playing all day/night. Love to see kids in the outdoors playing and having a good time, but it was definitely not a peaceful experience. We ultimately checked out and stayed at a local hotel. A refund was refused. Doing the right thing simply shouldn't be that difficult. Had these things been disclosed prior to booking and we booked anyhow, that would be on us. Hiding the problems with the location then refusing a refund when it's not doable for someone is ridiculous. $400-$500/night for camping is a lot. We heard good things about other locations but Glacier is not worth the money.

I thought the concept was cool. Beds were comfortable and the set up in tent cute. But for 380 a night- with a shower and toilet down the road- it was a bit pricey. May be good to do 1 night to get the experience. I think they should do more- like maybe serve free breakfast or a happy hour at dinner....

My first "glamping" experience with the hubs, loved it. Perfect space for two, bed was super comfortable. Only downfall is when taking a shower you must use one hand to hold knob down, but hey, not complaining..certainly better than camping with no shower. Stayed two nights visiting from Ohio, will certainly be back

Some of these reviews make me laugh because this is still CAMPING. YOU ARE OUTSIDE lol. If you're ready to basically camp with a bed then you're expectations will be fulfilled! Glamping refers to the sturdy tent, comfy bed, in-tent fireplace, cafe coffee and tea on site! Yes there is a train but it didn't bother me. The train isn't that loud if it keeps you awake maybe you need a busier day for better sleep. These beds were super cozy! Fluffy soft and the wood stove was a nice touch. Some folks in our group had issues learning to work the stove and fire and staff was very friendly with help. A lot of the staff are young but I was impressed with their love for the outdoors and they always were smiling and polite and helpful. The bath houses are clean and comfortable. They are not like an dirty camp outhouses. They are cleaned and sanitized daily and look new. The showers do have a pull handle but it's like a timer thing and if you work it right you don't have to hold it the whole time but it will turn off after a few minutes and you just set it again. Free s'mores! And beautiful outdoor fire pits made for nice gatherings and nighttime talks. Food at Embers was yummy! Coffee and tea in the lobby was nice! As for reviews complaining about walking around the camp site-it's hard to imagine people who don't like a little walk outdoors on a CAMPING trip but there are some tents with a parking spot if you prefer. We enjoyed the walks around the site. I'm so sorry I don't remember her name but a Hispanic lady checked us in and she was very hospitable and made sure everything was taken care of for our group! There are also recharge batteries in the tent and all the firewood and starters you will need supplied graciously. A fan and a lateen also In the tent. Hot water in showers. It's canvas, but ITS A TENT please don't be one of those ppl who expect it to be soundproof and as with any other campsite we tried to be noise respectful of those around us. I did not hear any traffic.

This spot is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The bed was soooo comfortable. Just to let you know you have to shower and hold down a lever when doing so the whole time for the water to still flow and it's not super hot. BUT overall it was amazing. Would go back in a heart beat

4.5 stars! A must stay place within a short driving distance (15-25 min drive) to the West Entrance of the Glacier National Park, especially if you are looking to try out camping but still wanting to "rough it out" with real camping style. Glacier Under Canvas has accommodation on a campground like area for you ranging from real luxurious ones that come with real bed frame, cabinets with private baths (probably mid $200s a night) to a simple tipi with 2 folded beds/cots and sleeping bags, folded chairs and the use of shared bathrooms ($80 a night). My SO and I stayed in a tipi for 3 nights and really loved the experience. The tipi structure was made out of canvas.. it was simple, yet clean and does its job of protecting us from the rain (we had a thunderstorm/windy night one night of our stay and the tipi was so sturdy and was able to keep us dry!). What I also like there was also the cleanliness of the bathrooms there. Even though those who stayed in the tipi (e.g. their most basic accommodation) had to share bathrooms/toilets, those places remained super clean and was not disgusting at all. They always seemed to have clean towels and washcloths in stock at all times, too. It could be that Glacier Under Canvas attracted the right crowd of stayers...or, most likely, the ground keepers really did a great job maintaining and keeping the places clean! We stayed there for 3 nights and wouldn't mind staying there again. One warning though..I think the beds are good, but if I had to stay for 3+ nights, I would love to stay at Glacier Under Canvas or places with similar glamping concept again..however I might consider staying at one of their more luxurious options with a proper bed..call me spoiled..but I don't want my back to be killing me coming back from a long vacation! 3 days were bearable..but 3+ nights...my personal choice is..I would rather have my bed and still be glamping at that place! :) Another plus is also that this place uses minimal electricity (they try to use solar power as much as possible) and try their best to minimize impact on environment! Note: if you are looking for a comfortable, oh..pamper my style hotel, this is probably an option for you. However, if you are somewhat adventurous and want to venture into the concept or notion of camping without all the dirt that may come with actual camping..this place is a must stay!

We stayed here in July 2018. It was amazing. We rented 2 teepees for the 4 of us. They were back in the woods so we had plenty of privacy and were near the bathrooms. We had the most comfortable beds and the bedding was amazing. There were 2 twins in each teepee. My husband is 6'3" and it was fine for him. He said several times that that was the best nights sleep he got on our whole 2 week trip. They have very clean showers / bathrooms and plenty of clean towels. The staff was nice and the drive in a golf cart to the tent was nice. If you are looking to stay some where unique I highly recommend this place. Loved it!!!

Typical under can as. Fun experience. Only issue with this one was the road noise. It's located right on the highway which kills the experience.

Our family really enjoyed staying here. It was good to unplug and feel like we were camping, yet still sleep comfortably. The king bed was really nice and warm. Our two kids were provided with cots and sleeping bags which were also warm and quite comfortable. It was nice having a bathroom and pull string shower in the tent. There was a wood burning stove in the tent which we did use as it was chilly in the mornings. Housekeeing comes through daily to provide fresh towels and straighten up. The kids loved the s'mores provided and we played games in the lobby tent one night. We had an issue with noisy neighbors and it was handled immediately by the staff. I like that they are available 24 hours a day. We would definitely stay at Under Canvas again.

Check out www.glacierundercanvas.com Glamping seems to be all the rage, so we wanted to try it out on our visit to Glacier National Park. Glacier Under Canvas just opened this year and is a few miles outside of the park entrance. They have a wide array of accommodations- tipi, treehouse, tent, or cabin. Each has their own small driveway, so you can drive your car up to your tent to easily drop off luggage. We stayed in a Safari tent, which had a king-sized bed, dresser, campstove, two electric lamps, plus two chairs and small table. The bed was very comfortable and will keep you warm when the temperature drops at night. The night we stayed it rained overnight and was close to freezing but we kept warm with the campstove and cozy bedding. If you are a light sleeper, the rain hitting the canvas is loud and might keep you up. As for the shared bathrooms, they are very nice. There are two locations with four bathrooms at each location. There is a storage closet with plenty of towels, washcloths and handtowels. Important note-- If you are planning on staying here, please check in and become familiar with your tent and shared bathroom locations before the sun sets. It can be difficult to find the location when you're driving at night or if the weather is bad.

Long time camper, first time glamper! Pros: Reception was awesome, very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds with real bedding. USB batteries in the tents to charge mobile devices. Bathrooms and showers are well stocked and clean. Super close to the entrance of Glacier National Park. Super close to town with 24 hour super market. Cons: Traffic and train is pretty loud and runs throughout the night. Use the ear plugs and tire yourself out during the day so you can sleep heavy at night! No place to store food in the tent, can only store in car. Short walk to bathroom in the middle of the night. Tips: Having traveled by plane, there are a number of things we couldn't take in our carry on like full size bug spray and sun screen. There's a table near reception where people donate stuff they can't take with them. We got sunscreen, bug spray and a styrofoam cooler to use while we were there! Donated the cooler back when we left. So just ask reception if there's something you want to borrow. I didn't ask if there's bear spray but wouldn't be surprised if they might have one to borrow.

Service - 5 Amenities - 3 I really want to give them 5 stars because the service is great but so many things went wrong. Our tent didn't close completely and also some of the hot showers were not working. On top of that the camp site is next to a train track so at night you can hear trains. So if you are a light sleeper keep this in mind. They do give ear plugs at the reception. They have a communal campfire that does goes as late as people want to stay. It is a great place to meet other campers and such and s'mores are complimentary! They have a beach volleyball course too if you are so inclined to bring a ball! Tip for glacier Parkers: What is nice is that you can pay for breakfast (sandwich or wrap) and lunch. They will have it waiting for you at the reception. This is nice as you can take it into glacier park and that way you don't need to pack food! It is a little pricey.

Came to under canvas for a night stay during a road trip out to CA. After a day spent in Glacier, we were ready for a comfy and relaxing night. This is exactly what we got. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. It had rained pretty heavily before our check in, and our teepee flap had been left open leaving the floor and our beds wet. With this storm also came a power outage that lasted our entire stay, however they were able to upgrade us to a king size tent at no additional charge. I can definitely say I recommend this place to any and everyone, as the location to Glacier was perfect and the customer service of the staff was exceptional! Oh & the beds were unbelievably comfortable! (Although the power outage meant no working toilets or showers which was a bummer, but completely out of the staff's control!)

This is not camping. It's not the glamping bit but the fact that you can't drive to many of the sites and you can't take food of any kind. They have 4 places to cook down below for at least 50 sites. Why haven't these folks figured out what bear boxes are? I spent 1000 for two days and was only there to sleep. Not what was advertised. Had an elderly grandfather with us and it was a nightmare. Won't be back until you fix your food issue.

Great concept. The beds had high quality sheets and bedding. The bed size in the teepee was too small for my husband so that was hard for him. If you want a hot shower wait until after 6. My husband wanted to beat the crowd, started the water at 530 and it was cold the whole time. Glad we were able to experience that atleast once.

We knew we wanted something different for our honeymoon and under canvas delivered! After spending a day adventuring it was perfect coming back to a cozy fire, warm bath, and soft bed. The entire staff was super friendly and accommodating. We loved our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Made it through the night...barely. Trains go by at least once an hour honking their horns. Add to that the constant traffic noise and you end up with a night of very little sleep. Beds are great. Tents are awesome. Location is terrible. Anyone recommending this place should be ashamed. There is no way I would provide a recommendation to stay here.

I am writing this review at 6am not because I want to be writing a review at 6am. No, I'd prefer be sleeping; but after the first 100 car plus, whistle blowing train at 5:11am, and the 2nd train at 5:30, and the third at 5:45am I have given up on sleeping, and I am writing this review in hopes that it will prevent any fellow travelers from suffering the same fate of sleep deprivation. Ahhh, the train whistles blow as I write this review, how timely. I hear the whistle clearly, even while I wear the provided ear plugs. I saw the ear plugs upon checking in and thought how considerate for those that are light sleepers as tents are only fabric, and can't keep all of natures sounds out. But, I am heavy sleeper, I've slept in loud large cities In the heart of noisy downtown bar and train station districts. I won't need those ear plugs. I put them in as a backup, for early departure campers that are driving out on the gravel road ten feet from the tent. Ear plugs didn't help with the trains. So, don't sleep here unless you want a wake up at 5:11am from a train that you just can't sleep through. PS: the employee that did the site selection for this location should be fired immediately. Total failure of execution, total.

Had to cancel the trip do to the all the smoke from the fires in the area. Could not see sky or hardly breath. Was hoping they would let me cancel given these circumstances but they did not. Will not be staying there next year when I try and re-book trip.

We had a great time and would definitely do it again. We stayed in the teepee and it was the perfect size for the two of us. Bathrooms were nice and clean. The staff was also super nice and helpful. The location is also perfect seeing how it is only 30 minutes from whitefish and very close to west entrance of glacier.

My family and I are on our annual epic summer adventure, and this time we're on a tour of national parks in the western United States. After much research (you know me), I threw in all my chips for a company called Under Canvas, which is a hybrid of luxury hotel and camping. By the time our journey is over, we'll have been on the road 28 days, covered over 4000 miles, and I will have spent over $3000 on this company. And you know how I roll with all of my reviews-- I give the unvarnished truth. If I love a place, you hear about it. If I hate a place, you hear about it. The point is to promote businesses that are going above and beyond, and put those other businesses that couldn't care less about customer service in notice in hopes that they improve. And as a personal policy, I almost always try to give a business a second chance (except in egregious cases). So, on to my review of Under Canvas Glacier. First off, love the concept. Glamping at national parks. Basically the American version of high end African safari accommodations. The staff was very nice. Shout out to Mary and Chris in particular. Glacier is an amazing place to visit, and the folks at Under Canvas made it even better. We got upgraded to a suite because we purchased their Tent Pass, which allows for that sort of thing if there is space available. Brand new tent. Out by ourselves, which we loved. Such an improvement over the conventional hotel. Very spacious, beds were very comfortable, the addition of a white noise maker was great to cover the sound from the trains that come by in the wee hours of the morning, and the overall style sensibility was fabulous. And we got complimentary coffee/tea service at our tent each morning. And The wood stove was a great way to stay warm. Also, being just a few minutes from the park entrance was brilliant. Overall, quite happy with our first (out of three) Under Canvas stays. Okay, so a few suggestions: would be nice to have more than one suitcase rack, and a few more places to hang things. Particularly when you're visiting national parks, there's a pretty good chance you'll have stuff that gets wet. Having more than four hooks to hang things on would've been a big help. Also, the hot water didn't work properly, so we had a hot and cold showers for the three nights we visited. Not a dealbreaker, but a bit shocking all the same in a place that gets as cold as Glacier. And one pretty glaring omission: no warning sign indicating how hot the woodstove gets. My wife put a piece of clothing on to dry, and within less than half a minute we smelled something burning. This is a disaster (read lawsuit) waiting to happen if a kid gets accidentally burned or someone's wool socks go up in flames. If management is reading this, you might want to consider ample signage for something like that. We're on to Under Canvas Yellowstone next. Will leave an on-going review in real time, so stay tuned.

IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR AN ACTUAL CAMPING EXPERIENCE, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. I was extremely disappointed in the fact that we couldn't have a bonfire or food near our tent. There was also not a whole lot of room around the tent to hang a hammock or something like that- so there was really no desire to relax at our site. For the amount of money I paid to stay there, I would have wanted to spend more time at the tent, but since I can't do anything there except for sleep, I was not happy. "Sharing experience in the outdoors in comfort and style", especially at a campsite, requires way more of a camping experience. I would have 100% asked for my money back and went somewhere else if the refund policy wasn't so strict. I also had to pay $25 in fees on top of the initial cost of the tent, AND ANOTHER $25 for my dog. So another $50 i paid on top of the already expensive $190 something. Couldn't see any mountains, and you're too far into the trees to see many stars. I won't be recommending this place to anyone, in fact I will do my best to steer them clear of it.

My sweet husband is a big time camper and I'm more of a 5 star resort type..this is the PERFECT place for me!! I loved every minute of our trip here. I was comfortable and cozy and felt like I had everything I needed while "camping". We were able to share in a fun experience while both feeling happy and comfortable!

We have stayed at three other Under Canvas locations and this one was the most poorly located (near a main road with heavy traffic... (located near such an active train track they have to provide their guests with earplugs so they can sleep), most poorly managed.... (our bed was made incorrectly, bedding was dirty, daily room service had to be ensured by calling in, bed top sheet was never tucked in during room service and on last night was simply floating under the incorrectly laid comforter, firewood was not replenished as needed, fire starters were not replenished as needed, kindling had to be called in for as it was not replenished as needed/daily, toilet paper ran low with no replacement. Staff was assuming and rude when we rolled in after white water rafting looking quite worn. They clearly thought we did not belong as we were water logged after rafting in the rain all afternoon. The gentleman at the main tent, instead of welcoming us back, simply asked, "can I help you with something?", as if we should t have been there. When I replied with, yes, we need kindling, firewood, etc, etc sent to our tent number 45, he was semi pleasant, but not what one would expect when paying over $400 per night. Last note, Staff were riding around the campground consistently on golf carts, they appeared bored and often times the same individual would pass our tent within 5 minutes of last pass by. Management needs to step in here and ensure beds, room cleaning, interaction with guests and employees in general are managed and trained properly in hospitality and customer service. This was our worst Under Canvas experience by far.

AWESOME EXPERIENCE! I am NOT a camper. Glamping is about as close as I usually get to "nature". I'm driving cross country with my dad, and he made the reservation. We got a tee pee and a larger tent. Because we got one of the larger tents, y'all, IT HAD A BATHROOM! It's a tiny bathroom that is anything but luxurious, but it works and it was clean and it included hot, running water and a flush toilet! So amazing. My dad slept in the tee pee, and he used the public bathrooms sometimes. He said the public bathroom was much nicer than he anticipated and the staff kept it rather clean. We were traveling with my two dogs. The dogs were totally fine, but they had to be kept on leash at all times when not in the tent. Also, they figured out how to unzip the tent! I had to use their leash clips to clip the zippers together so try couldn't get out. The leash clips worked great. There is an electric fence around the camp to keep out bears, and you cannot keep food in your tent due to the threat of bears. We kept food in our car and it worked out just fine. The beds were very comfortable and the facility provides adequate bedding for cold nights. Our big tent had a wood burning stove, and the facility provided plenty of wood and fire starters, which were replenished everyday.

Great idea and very comfortable, but bad location. The friendly staff showed us our tent and I immediately noticed a package of foam earplugs on each nightstand. Definitely a bad sign!!!! The road noise isn't a problem after dark, but there is a freight rail line somewhere nearby. Trains came thru all night at 30-60min intervals. And for whatever reason (a road crossing?), they always blast their horn. A very comfortable and clean facility. Bathrooms/showers were great. Very friendly staff. But if you're a light sleeper like me, be warned! Even with earplugs in, I didn't sleep too well. Very nice place...bad location.

Great concept and very affordable. We stayed in a Tipi for $79 per night and it fit three people comfortably. The bathrooms are clean and the staff is friendly.

We went to Glacier Under Canvas at the beginning of the season in 2015, and overall it was a great experience. We stayed in the treehouse tent and the view was unbelievable, the deck overlooking the other camps/mountains provided a great place to hang out. The inside was very nice and cozy, the bed was very comfortable with plenty of comforters so we really didn't even need the wood stove to sleep, we only started the fire before we were going to shower in the morning. The shower is a water conservation shower so you do have to pull down to have water come out but it was great to have a shower right there, and the water warmed up within 15-20 seconds. The one and only change I would have made was since the treehouse is such an attention grabber (and it is impressive), is to put a rope or something similar at the bottom to discourage people from coming up to look around. People are very curious about it so we had a few people come up the stairs, even when we were sleeping, which wasn't awesome. Other than that one small thing our experience was a great one!

Under Canvas was a great experience that mixed the comfort of a hotel with the fun of camping (yes there are s'mores!). Bathrooms and showers were clean and accessible, beds in the tents were comfortable, great staff, and (more importantly) great local coffee. An overall enjoyable experience!

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in the middle of our 10 honeymoon. We really loved the idea and the tents were exactly what you saw online. Super clean, modern, cozy. We were really excited about being here and staying put for a few days. We were greeted at the reception desk by Charlie and BJ. I asked Charlie a few questions about the park and he didn't know because he had only been there for a few weeks and worked the whole time. (Admittance to the park is $25 for a week (we think) and it's open 24 hours a day :). Charlie was super friendly and seemed to be excited to show us around. We got a Safari Deluxe tent and we were really excited to have a shower and a real bed (as we'd been camping for a few days on the way). We woke up early the next morning and headed to the park where we stayed all day and arrived back at Glacier Under Canvas just in time to shower and go to bed. We found that we did this every day - exhausting all of our energy at the park and leaving nothing for enjoying the activities they had at Glacier Under Canvas (volleyball, campfires, etc.) We loved our big porch and tried to stay awake to see the stars come out but barely made it. Our only complaint is that it is right next to the road. I was awakened each night by train horns that sounded like they were right next door. The front desk offered ear plugs for sale but I kept thinking I'd sleep through it. Traffic was noisy and as much as you wanted to feel like you were in a really remote area - it was impossible. Other than that, the only advise I'd offer is that if you enjoy actual tent camping, and will exhaust your energy hiking, rafting, etc. it may be wise to save some money and camp in the park or get a small hotel room if all you'll do is sleep there. We really did appreciate this style of 'camping' and often stated how excited we were to come back to a bed and a shower, but we do feel like we missed out on the experience because we were so busy at the park. Otherwise, it lived up to everything we expected!

This is one of the highlights of our family roadtrip.We stayed here for two nights and we really loved it.The tent that we stayed in is clean and the bed is really comfy which we need after a day of roaming around glacier national park.The bathrooms are very clean.The staffs are exceptionally nice and accomodating.We will definitely consider staying at your other sites.It was indeed a really great experience!

We had an AMAZING stay at Glacier Under Canvas!! It was everything we had hoped for, and more! My husband and I stayed here for 3 days recently while on our honeymoon. We were extremely thankful to Spencer for upgrading us to a suite tent. It had a king sized bed, sofa, claw-foot tub, shower, sink and toilet-- far from roughing it! There was a train that ran nearby, but it honestly did not wake me up, and I am not a heavy sleeper. We definitely would stay here again! Thank you so much for making our honeymoon perfect!

We're just wrapping up our stay and thoroughly enjoyed this place, even though our adult children told us, "that's not really camping," to which we repied, "exactly." Wonderful setting, very comfortable beds, and just enough of the basics to make you feel you have stepped away from the regular world for a few days. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we had everything we needed. Close to the park entrance and tons of other areas for hiking, rafting, and other outdoor activities. The only suggestion we have is it would be nice if it could have been set even further back off the main road and more isolated.

We stayed in a TiPi very comfortable showers were nice and clean. Close to park . Everyone was really helpful. Definitely recommend it.

Very attentive service from all staff. Clean inside the tents and clean in your personal area outside your tent. Close to Nature with very little effort. All ingredients to make Smores at night are provided around the campfire. Warm showers that are kept very clean. Stayed 2 nights. You can pre order breakfast and have it outside your tent in the morning. We loved it.
