This is my new favorite local bar. the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating- they make you feel at home. The cocktails (and bites) are phenomenal and fairly priced. And the vibes really cannot be matched. It’s understated and relaxing and very cozy. It’s becoming my go to spot for out of town friends and just having a nice low key drink.

Google
Awesome experience. Super clean and cool cocktail bar right next to their sister space Current. Unique/fun/funky cocktail options. I got the cruise control under the bartenders recommendation and it was wild!! I’m all about refreshing funky weird cocktail creations and this fit the bill. Every one of the workers met me with a smile and were very kind. I’ll definitely be back. Such a cool spot.

Came to the bar to have drinks with a friend. If you are ever so lucky you'll get James as your mixologist and he is amazing! Do yourself a favor and let him freestyle your drinks.

Google
A wonderful place for an innovative cocktail, lively atmosphere and some tasty bites of food! We sat at the bar and it was really fun to watch the bartender make many different cocktails! My Mama Nana was a delicious bourbon based creation. The oysters and ceviche were fresh and delicious! I also enjoyed a stuffed grape leave and the Baba Ghanouj ! I have a new favorite bar in Salt Lake City! Make sure you bring your ID…they card everyone!

Love the place..has a relaxed atmosphere and the oysters never disappoint..I would say one of the best in SLC. I feel this place is among the top when it comes to sea food

Google
Was able to get a reservation a few days before. Seated quickly once we arrived. Beautiful interior with a view of the mountains from our table. The drinks arrived quickly. Excellent old-fashioned! For appetizers we ordered the clam dip and the grilled oysters. The clam dip was packed full of flavor and the oysters were perfect. Ordered a caesar salad that came with anchovy filets. Probably not for everyone but I so like anchovies so it was good. For the entrees we ordered the Swordfish and the Cod. The Cod was far better and I recommend trying it. Tried to like the Swordfish but it was too salty. It need something a bit sweet to cut the saltiness. Came with a sauce that helped a bit and it was served on top of pork belly yet it was difficult to like. A shame as the fish was cooked perfectly and I am a big fan of Swordfish in general. The desserts were phenomenal. Do try the Gelato Sunday as the flavor was unique and interesting. The yuzu is also interesting and good, not too sweet. Overall we really enjoyed most of the food paired with good service and a warm atmosphere. Will come back.

Google
My go-to bar for a fun night with friends, visitors, or even for a bite to eat. The drinks are artfully crafted and the presentation is always beautiful. The oysters are incredible, as well as the appetizer options. The staff always takes pride in what they are serving. Be sure to walk the plank!

Google
Kaylyn is one of the best bartenders I’ve come across in over a decade! The drinks here are phenomenal + the speed + quality of service is unmatched. Perfect place for a weekend or late night drink. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Our visit to Under Current was delightful. We came on a Monday night and got right in. The vibe is nice and chill, the food and drinks were good and service was great. We enjoyed the Sweet Chili Wings, Fish Tacos and Chicken Tacos. We will be back!

Yelp
We had a great time at under current. Their super friendly bartenders took great care of us. None of the menu cocktails were really floating my boat so I asked them if they could do dealer's choice. The only criteria being gin and floral. They understood the assignment and created some really delicious cocktails that hit the mark. We then ordered the ceviche and fish & chips. The ceviche was kinda meh, until I asked for some black pepper which opened up the flavors and changed everything, making it quite delicious. The fish & chips were surprisingly light. The fries were delicious and reminded me of the ones at Franklin, minus the rosemary. The slaw was decent but I prefer one that has more of a vinegar element. This one was a bit sweet for my taste. Overall, it was a very nice experience.

Yelp
How often do you walk into a crowded bar on a Friday night and find two seats front and center? It's not often, but it happened to me this last weekend-so I knew the booze gods were watching out for me. The bartender was friendly and attentive as well as knowledgeable. My friend ordered his drink pretty specifically and Drew (I think that was his name) was unfazed. Both drinks came out exactly as ordered and delicious. The ambience is slightly upscale, possibly a destination for a date night or special occasion. It also seemed to cater to the more mature crowd rather than the young twenty-somethings. As a more mature person myself (ahem) I appreciated that the noise level wasn't too high so we could carry on conversations easily.

Yelp
We popped in to Under Current after eating next door at Salt & Olive. We came convince my brother-in-law that oysters were in fact delicious and that he needed to try one before he left town. It was sound 9:30 when we walked in and we chose the closest table to the entrance to accommodate our party of four. The interior was dark and moody, and it did smell a little fishy inside, but what can you do about that? We ordered a half dozen of the chef's choice of oysters and then my husband ordered an English Rose cocktail. Both came out rather quickly. While the oysters were fresh and tasty, my husband said his drink was just okay. Although we didn't fully convince my brother-in-law that oysters were the best, he did try one and it wasn't as bad as he was expecting. I'd love to come back here or to Current to enjoy a full meal of oysters. Maybe with some other in-laws...until then!

Yelp
I love Under Current! You can go casual or dressy and both fit nicely. The smaller tables are very intimate or the big booths and standing tables and bar are great for mingling. The bartenders have a great reputation for unique cocktails, and it's true - their cocktail menu changes regularly, they use a good variety of ingredients, and I've had some of my favorite cocktails in SLC here. The food menu is light - snacks, shareable dishes, and their clam dip is just *chef's kiss*. The space can get a bit too chilly in the A/C and sometimes gets loud if it's crowded, but show me a bar that doesn't.

Yelp
Sink or swim? Definitely going with the Under Current flow here! First stop of three for Friday night out reunion destinations with local friends in downtown SLC vibing and imbibing. Modern industrial ambiance. We came for the drinks but very tempted to stay for dinner as well. Got blessed with easy parking just around the block, service was attentive offering recommendations and checking back on us. Opted for the lovely To the Fairest martini with vodka, Tito's and soda plus vino blanco to kick off pre-dinner cocktails for our party of three. There was also outdoor patio available although we chose to be seated indoors. Table was slightly wobbly but we fixed it on our own. This could be a return spot for us next time visiting the area.

Yelp
Some of the best drinks in Salt Lake. If you need a tiki fix, but not the tiki atmosphere, they have really great, upscale drinks that still feel really fun. Beautiful bar, delicious food, and we love our server K (Kay?) every time we go! Painkiller, Missionary's Downfall, and Free Spirited are some of our favorites. Also if you're looking for a great place to catch up with a friend or two I can't recommend this place enough. Perfect atmosphere to have a lovely chat.

Yelp
Update time again because long is gone the canned fish boohoo! The menu seems to gone down to the basics only after less than six months ago. Sad to see that happen. But new menu still includes yummy ceviche and fish and chips. Delicious drinks one being the painkiller. Sad to see this place dead on a Saturday night, it has such a good vibe. Always a good mix of people and great music playing. That's too bad.

Yelp
I came here right when they opened at 5pm on a Friday as I was looking to start my weekend with some cocktails. There is the Current Fish & Oyster next door that is more food and wine focused, while Under Current is more cocktail focused. Speaking of cocktails, they have a very extensive menu with lots of options based on flavor profile like boozy, citrusy, and beachy/tiki. My first drink was the hanzo steel ($13) which was very boozy but still had lots of sweetness and some spice from the rye, swedish punsch, and velvet falernum. I remember taking a sniff of the coffee bean grated on top and then taking a sip and saying to myself, "F--kin fantastic". It's similar to an old fashioned but 100 times better. My second drink was the sex dreams ($13) which falls under the tiki/beachy category. It's sweet, tart, and has some nice body from the homemade orgeat. There's a half ounce of angostura bitters so it's slightly bitter but it's a drink that is easily downable. My last drink was the nature boy ($15) which is tequila and smoke-forward from the mezcal. The chili stands out even though there's only 0.25oz, but the kiwi sweetness and the lime tartness help with the spice. I want to give a shoutout to the bartender Dylan as we had some good conversations. He even gave me the recipe for the sweet dreams cocktail when I asked which was amazing. I didn't get any food but looking at their menu the food is pretty well priced too. This was a great craft cocktail bar and one of my favorites in SLC!

Yelp
Always a favorite, this spot is cozy and warm and has amazing service (ask for Andrew). Tonight we had a small group, and our orders were handled with care. The staff checked up on us multiple times, the food was great and the pours just as good. Whether you're waiting on a table at Current or just searching for some good drinks, this is a solid spot. Cheers.

Yelp
Had a lot of fun here! The staff is very friendly, and the ambiance at this place is also a lot nicer than what you'd see at most other bars. Their drink selections aren't huge, but what they do have is good. I also enjoyed their appetizers:) We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
A gem of a bar with a cool vibe, extremely talented staff, and an excellent food and drink menu. Every time I visit Under Current, I know I'm going to be well taken care of and will leave happier than when I came in. I highly recommend you try as many of their unique, tiki inspired cocktails as you can. My favorites recently have been the Astropanther, Suze Cruise, and Benzi Box. Along with these they also offer solid renditions of classics. Their take on a Zombie is particularly potent.

Yelp
AHH, where is my picture of cocktails?!?!!! They make DELICIOUS cocktails. I went there for my birthday. Not only their cocktails but their sharable dishes were great as well. Who invented taro chips? The ceviche itself wasn't too great but I give a huge credit on taro chips haha. This is THE bar I would go to for a special occasion for having a great ambiance. The food menu is quite small but it is crafted carefully to go with their cocktails.

Yelp
Great bar with a great ambience! I've been here several times and have never been disappointed with their service and standard of food. (Fries are to die for). Although I've been here more than a few times, I felt that Under Current deserves a shout out for excellent service and just great intuition. I ordered the chicken Sando and several appetizers and was extremely pleased to see that they halved the sandwich and served it on 2 plates (with a generous serving of fries) for me and my date. Small things do get noticed and these guys deserve big ups for doing so. Their food menu doesn't enthrall you, but goes perfectly well with their well crafted cocktail menu. Under Current will always stay a go-to for weekend drinks and might have to be on the checklist for a night out in SLC!

Greg N.

Yelp
This is a great little place to grab a drink with a relaxing ambience great staff they don't have an extensive food menu but they make pretty darn good drinks. I ended up here because they make a vesper Martini. Everyone should know by now is my go to cocktail. Drew is a bartender working and he was very pleasant to talk to the whole staff as engaging. The food I ordered was enjoyable and flavorful. This is a good place to grab a drink and relax.

Yelp
Sexy cocktail bar attached to cool seafood restaurant. Friendly sharp staff offer expert cocktails while you snack on yummy charcuterie and fresh ceviche. Salt Lake City is not a place known for drinking but this is a nice adult place to grab a drink and a snack.

Yelp
My friend and I went in to undercurrent on a Monday for their happy hour. Oysters were delicious, reasonably priced, and the man who was shucking delivered them to our table with tasting notes and everything. We also ordered a bottle of wine. Our server plopped it on our table without saying anything and left us. I don't think we actually ordered a single thing from him all night, we were constantly flagging down other people, I assume his support staff. We sat for awhile with finished plates and an empty bottle so I took it upon myself to find him to cash us out. He was sitting down with his friends as if he was eating there as well, weird. Obviously we were trying to leave as I asked for the check and it took another 15 minutes before we had to flag someone else down to cash us out. I hope they split the tips there as everyone else was awesome except for our server.

Yelp
We had a nice late night experience here. Bartenders were really friendly and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Drinks were tasty, and you can tell the bartenders take pride in what they do and took the extra time to make the garnishes look really pretty. Which I love. The drink selection is pretty big too. It's been a strange experience at all the bars here in SLC as liquor is so strongly regulated. After 3 cocktails I didn't feel like I'd had much to drink, which is quite different than where I live! But not a huge complaint, since I felt better than usual the next morning haha. I think my favorites were the Saturn and the espresso martini. As far as the food goes, the oysters were our favorite thing. Tasted fresh and the sauces were good. Nothing else blew us away but certainly wasn't bad. Had the shrimp cocktail, the octopus, (both from the Current's menu next door) and the fries. Shrimp and octopus were good but didn't love the accompaniments. Fries weren't that good either in my opinion but I'm picky about fries! Overall would come back here if I was in town again for some late night drinks and chill.
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere. This is an incredible place to chill, have drinks, ponderize and have some segmented time for meaningful conversations. It's in a great location and the inside setting was great. The music was nostalgic and we were able to watch the jazz game at the same time, while chatting. The waitress was friendly and awesome and took care of us nicely! The drinks were all great, as expected and the bowl of olives helped accompany the drinks nicely.
google avatar

William F. I.

Yelp
Definitely come here for the bar and cocktails. Bartenders are highly knowledgeable, make killer cocktails, and are very friendly. When getting quality, craft cocktails, service takes longer always, but it's worth it. So keep that in mind. Food is ok, the menu lacks diversity and could use some tweaking. It's worth ordering from if you're really hungry. Definitely a great spot to grab a drink in an intimate setting before or after with a date where you can get a solid meal elsewhere.
google avatar

Jono M.

Yelp
This place has a great vibe, a lot of fun to hang out at for drinks. Minus one star for ceviche that was super disappointing. Don't expect a classic ceviche.
google avatar

Ginger C.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and it's been good. Tonight I sat at the bar and left because we watched the bartender making drinks while he was sweating, touching his hair and using his hands as an ice scoop. So disgusting! We told the hostess on the way out why we left and she did not give a crap. Sweaty ice scoop hands. We also left after 20 minutes of sitting there without getting a drink.
google avatar

Charles E.

Yelp
If you like being ignored with the occasional rude interruption by the staff; waiting 20 minutes in a half empty bar for someone to take your order then another 30 minutes for the drink to arrive; or sitting at the bar for 20-30 minutes before the bartender even deigns to acknowledge your presence, then look no further this is the place for you. You're not welcome here anytime. This used to be one of our two or three favorite bars in town. But it's not the same anymore. When they aren't indifferent to your presence they are being rude. It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for'em.
google avatar

Joy M.

Yelp
Good vibe. Good drink menu, but were out of a lot of the sakes. Fries came out a bit cold - enjoyed all the sauces it came with. Calamari is smaller than you would expect.
google avatar

Raneal C.

Yelp
Current has excellent food fare and ambiance, undercurrent has all that and a pleasant romantic and personal atmosphere. They have signature cocktails and all the great food from their twin establishment.. more of the pleasure side to the business
google avatar

Yelp
It's a solid 4 star eatery. NOT 5 stars because I won't be coming back here for a full meal or if I'm actually hungry. 1 star for the ambient sheek and more San Franciscoish vibe. 2nd star for the exquisite dessert, probably the best beat root cake I ever had (expensive as ;$:$:) but worth it. 3rd star for the BEST mocktail ive ever had. They made it an on the house surprise which had ginger, hibiscus, pomegranate, sweetened with honey and something else. To die for. 4th star for the oysters and the ahi tuna. Delicious. I can't say more. Fish tacos and salad were lacking though the fish tacos hands down are the best value on the bar side menu. Regular entrees served on the restaurant side are quite pricey, and that's ok if that's the upscale experience e you're looking for. Place is definitely on the cramped space side we literally ate on a couch with the food served on a chest :) different o say the meat and we were ok with it. Will probably be back for oysters, dessert and a mocktail.

Yelp
A bartender had recommended this a while back. Needed a quiet place to have a conversation after dinner with an old friend and this made the right impression. Cool decor and attentive service. Got the Hanzo Steel which sounded elaborate yet manly. I was ready to be impressed. Instead what came tasted like whiskey left out overnight with too much ice in the glass. Just... watery whiskey. It was the worst drink I ever had, even including anything I concocted at home. I don't know why I didn't send it back or ask if they forgot the other ingredients. At home, I would have poured it down the drain; here I spent a twenty on it and drunk it anyway. Never again.
google avatar

Kenzie K.

Yelp
Stopped in to get drinks before heading to dinner. The bartenders were the best! So friendly and nice. The drinks were delicious. Next time I'm going to come here for dinner the food they kept being out looked so good! Decorate very unique.
google avatar

Jae O.

Yelp
I used to live so close to this bar and thus have been herr many time. It's mostly cocktails on the menu and there are limited draft beer choices but I always enjoyed the more chill vibe with better crowds compared to other bars downtown. Food is also pretty decent and service is awesome. One star deduction is for adding 22% tip involuntarily on the receipt and telling customers to confront them if the service did not deserve 22% tip. At the end of the day 22% tip amount is fine but I don't like to be forced to pay pre-determined amount from the bar. Give people 22% suggestions instead of just trying to force that as a guilt tip. No one's going to argue to pay few percentages less but it's not ethical business practice in my opinion.

Yelp
I haven't been to Under Current in a couple of years. Moving to the burbs has restricted my nightlife experiences. The move was very unhealthy, and I regret minimizing my alcohol intake. Saturday night I returned to Under Current, one of my favorite bars in SLC. It always makes me forget the inherent provincialism of this town. This is a sophisticated, upscale, "downtown" kind of place, unlike 99% of the bars in Utah. Under Current has no cookie cutter design. It is unique, with an elegant, Armani/Gucci look, and Under Current could feel confident, standing on its own, in NYC, Paris, or Hong Kong. Service is professional, but friendly and down to earth, difficult to achieve in such a trendy place. The staff is awfully good looking, but somehow they are nonjudgmental, treating everyone with respect and a gracious affect. The clientele changes, depending on the time and day. Often, the people enjoying Under Current are an eclectic bunch, all ages, all persuasions, a socio-economic cross section. Yet, at other times, especially weekend nights, the crowd can be very ersatz LA, Las Vegas glitzy; falsely posing as sophisticated. These mannequins take on a plasticity, a polyester cloak of cool, but without substance. Their fake aura changes the ambiance of Under Current, It becomes a center of facade, and truly, only the self centered insecure amongst us need that. Under Current is still a great bar, with fabulous mixologists. The bar can't dictate "real" to its patrons.

Liz R.

Yelp
Drew nailed our after work "dealers choice" cocktails. He really listened to what we were after and crushed it. 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
I don't Yelp often but had such a wonderful all around experience that I had to. Atmosphere? Chic. Cocktails? Unique. Staff? So delightful. Everyone was just so kind and genuine and knew their stuff. Truly a lovely time

Yelp
Pleasantly bumped into this place walking back towards hotel after Church, we were very happily surprised at the amazing service, employees all had a fabulous smile and genuinely wanted to help, the manager, Lloyd chatted with us and took care of us. He was able to accommodate even what wasn't on the menu as we are attempting to stay carb free at this time! Every single thing served to us including starters, main dishes, dessert & drinks were absolutely spot on! We enjoyed a couple of hours of listening to music and having a splendid Saturday night meal/entertainment. We were staying at a Five Star Hotel and I can only wish that the attention to our needs was the same at the hotel as it was at Under Current. Cheers to Lloyd for keeping an eye on a wonderfully managed bar/restaurant.

Andrew J.

Yelp
I will say that I have had a great experience at Under Current, but tonight wasn't up to par. The bartender, Andrew, was high energy and the drinks were great, but that's about where it ended. The fish and chips weren't cooked completely, the burger wasn't as good as normal, and the service was pretty spotty. I guess we caught them on a bad night.
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible cocktail menu plus every cocktail tasted even better than we imagined. It's a little on the pricey side as cocktails will run you $9-12, but they are definitely well crafted. I loved both my Kokomo and Pall Mall. My friends ordered a few other drinks and they were all tasty too (I love friends that share)! We came here before heading over to Current, which was a great choice. The cocktails and atmosphere are perfect for a pre-dinner drink or post-work beverage. The building is super cool and they offer some small bites. We tried oysters (5 stars - awesome), clam dip (3 stars - meh, okay), and shrimp cocktail (4 stars - pretty good). My sister claims that if she worked downtown she would be here weekly for oysters and cocktails... I think she's on to something! Minus a star for the lacking service. The bartender and staff were nice, but they were pretty much nonexistent. It took forever to get our order taken and even longer to get our check once we were done. The place wasn't too busy either. Regardless though, I'm a fan and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Strolling through the 'mean' streets of Salt Lake City on a (insert whatever day you're reading this) night? Searching through the high mountains for some libations to quench your parched throat? Look no further! Under Current provides ample ambiance, a packed house of wary travelers, and comfy seats. Personally, I've frequented Under Current and Current (the sibling next door) quite often. Their drinks are fairly priced, my guests and SLC locals dig the vibe (think big city feel) in a more contained environment. Overall, Under Current is pretty rockin' and if you haven't given it a try - you'd better head over tonight!

Savannah C.

Yelp
Great bar to hang out in before your current reservation or just grab a tiki style cocktail and some oysters. You can also start with the fancy cocktail and taper off to the more affordable highlife (champagne of beers!!). My server heard me refer to it as such (it's my fave beer) and had it served like a tiny champagne bottle. The staff is great and the food and cocktails are even better. It is a bit pricey, but a nice treat every once in a while.
google avatar

Drew R.

Yelp
Came here for late night drinks, and it was super chill and great. The drinks aren't expensive, and the crowd is definitely a chill crowd. Do know if you come after 11 all orders are taken at the bar. There isn't any table service. We sat down for like 10 mins before we realize that. The drink I do recommend is their painkiller. It's delicious, but also hits you like a brick if you have one too many. Their other drink I really like is a dirty leather. Very good and kind of on the bitter side. If you're eating something it's a perfect appetite opener. This is just a perfect place to chill and have a great night. The staff here is super professional and friendly. The music isn't that loud so you can have a decent conversation and with your group. A great night out.

Yelp
One of my favorite bars in SLC with a slightly upscale feel. They serve inventive drinks, and the food is also great. This is a great place to come with a small groups of friends before heading to Broadway Theater.

Jordan S.

Yelp
If you asked me what was my favorite bar to go to in SLC I would've said this place. The bar catered to young professionals and some older folks. Great affordable drink menu and food menu. As of this month the Restuarant has changed completely to appeal towards older rich folk. While simultaneously losing the young professional crowd that appreciated them. Drinks I used to pay $12 for are now $17 and the food selection is poor. They're just price gouging a hamburger because there's truffle on it. Disappointing

Yelp
4 for cocktails and 3 for food. I ordered a cocktail with Japanese whiskey and it was very delicious. I ordered the calamari and it was the tiniest portion for the price. It was cooked well but the sauce with the calamari was questionable. I liked the ambience and it was not busy on a weekday.

Yelp
We tried this place about two months ago... This place is not really my scene. Loud inside, crowded, and lots of younger people. We asked if we could get a spot and the hostess, who was borderline rude, told us to wait outside, in the snow for 45 minutes, even though there was room to wait in the lobby. We left, of course.. Only tried it because a friend wanted to give it a shot, but I will not be returning.

Zachary H.

Yelp
I've been to Under Current a couple of times. It's a great vibe. Very well organized drink menu and a great set of drinks. I just wanted to call out Drew, who was working on April 20, 2023. He wasn't our server, but he came over once to see how we were doing. He was very positive and joyful. Compared to the hostess and our server, he was a breath of fresh air. The other 2 were very quiet, came across a little rude, didn't engage in conversation. Drew definitely stood out.

Yelp
A suave, sexy cocktail bar attached to the seafood restaurant, Current. The atmosphere is always sophisticated, with exposed brick and dim lights, comfortable seating areas and a gorgeous bar. You'll find yourself drinking among a beautiful and urbane crowd. The cocktail menu is extensive and beautifully organized by the base spirit of the drink. There are classic cocktails, modern tipples and a number of proprietary concoctions from the excellent palate of head bartender, Amy Eldredge. Drinks are priced from $9-15, appropriate for the quality and quantity of the cocktails. If spirits aren't your thing, you can fall back on a solid beer and wine selection. An interesting, if limited, bar menu centering around (naturally!) seafood is available until midnight. Freshly shucked oysters on the half-shell are always a smart choice. The steamed buns filled with braised pork belly, shrimp or marinated shiitake mushrooms are a great bar snack. Other tempting options include the chilled seafood tower, ceviche and a daily special fish taco. Prices range from $5-75. Happy hour specials between 10:00pm-12:00am and all day Sunday are a particular bargain. I've found the service staff and their bartending skill to be uneven---at times, it ranks among the best bars in town; other times, the staff is inattentive and clumsy in their customer interactions. Parking can be scarce in this trendy downtown neighborhood, but there's some free, on-street parking nearby.

Yelp
I loved this spot - we used to go to Under Current, get cocktails, and order from the restaurant. Not sure what happened, but you can't order from the restaurant anymore and the menu has completely changed. Our favorite dishes aren't there and the new ones are a let down. The cocktails are still amazing, but I'm not sure I'll be going back anytime soon.

Yelp
Super cute cocktail lounge with upstairs area that gets blocked off for classes or any events they use it for. They open around 4 on weekends and week days and it was the perfect time to go when they opened because it wasn't crowded at all. They card you upon entering just like any place in Utah that serves alcohol or is established as a "bar" not a restaurant. Service was good and parking was available right in front of current and under current which was convenient. A lot of local parking is free after a certain time or on weekends. They carry all really good liquor from local distillers. I always do either gin or vodka and they have great selections of both and carry jackrabbit gin which is one of my local favorites.

Yelp
We needed a place to take a break from a stressful situation, and we found it. From the staff to the decor to the theme, woven throughout everything from the drink names to the decor, this is hands down one of the best bars we've ever been to. It was our first time to a bar since March 2020, and the staff's adherence to COVID precautions was phenomenal. The food was delicious, the drinks were unique and yummy, and the seating comfy. We most definitely will be back.

Yelp
Summary: This is the Best Bar in SLC. Why?: 1)Ambiance. If Tom Ford was to design a bar it would be Under Current. You can both have a conversation with someone next to you as well as be draw in by the design is something hard to imitate. 2) Drinks. This is firstly a cocktail bar, so get something you may not normally and you'd be surprised and excited you expanded your view. Don't come looking to down shots, get a drink and a seat and enjoy the night. 3) Service. The bartenders as well as the staff are top notch. With plenty of seating and drink choices you'll be happy to spend a few hours here.

Yelp
4 stars for the elegant decor and cool, yet casual ambiance. 3 stars for the food. The pork belly bun was pretty good once I actually had a bite of what little meat was in there, but not worth the five bucks. I'll probably stick to oysters next time, or have dinner next door at Current. This bar is unlike any other in SLC. They specialize in cocktails with Absinthe in them, so if that's not your thing, you'd be better off ordering something off menu. Overall, I really liked this place. It's definitely the new and trendy hot spot of Salt Lake City which is like a breath of fresh air with the countless amount of dive bars around town.
