Under Oaks Estate

It appears there is new management. The menu is smaller. I asked for a glass of water and was told I must buy water. My pizza was supposed to have roasted peppers on them, but apparently the roasting was left to happen while the pizza was cooking, not before, which didn't happen, and as a result my pizza was watery. My son's salami pizza was however good, and the location, animals and ginger cat still beautiful.

This place is on a farm outside the village. Ths gardens are well maintained. The room is spacious and the bathroom also. Coffee station and honesty bar. Nice breakfast.

This was a lovely place to stay and the weather made it all the more enjoyable with a pool and sun loungers accessible to us. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was excellent with everything we could want including a very comfortable bed and pillows. One slight downside was that we needed the car to go to the main building for breakfast and dinner. However, the meals were delicious. The breakfast was different each day and most enjoyable. We had pizzas both nights as they were so good and were washed down with their excellent wine. A wine tasting on site was a bonus and we left with a purchase of a few bottles. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Terrible if I wanted to eat sand salad I would go to beach.... Do yourself favour and dont waist your time !!!!! Went into kitchen no uniform no passion.... Why must you ask for garlic chilli parmesan dust.... Why must you ask cause it cost money cant just give to paying customers..... Maybe new owner dont know how to do costing....Under the oaks restaurant is tonight really under the oaks..... Pre wash salad leaves really or wait maybe saving water also....

Enjoyed a lovely lunch outside on the terrace last Saturday. Best thin-based pizza this side of the Hex River Valley!

Under Oaks guesthouse, I spent five nights at this beautiful establishment. ||||Comfortable and clean with beautiful decor. ||||I highly recommend for anyone that comes for work or holiday. ||

We visited the Pizzeria and did not stay in the accommodation. We did the wine tasting beforehand so that we could choose the perfect accompaniment for lunch. The five reds did not disappoint, and we especially enjoyed the Gemini blend and Cabernet Sauvignon. Tasting was a leisurely affair, and we enjoyed sitting on the stoep on a beautiful winter's afternoon. There is a change in the air at Under Oaks Pizzeria, and it has been revitalised with new management and a revamped menu. The views remain wonderful, making it a splendid spot for some lunch. There is more to the Pizzeria than just pizzas with a small but lovely selection of salads, antipasti and pasta. We opted for the pizza and they are an absolute winner - thin and crispy with a good selection of toppings, or you can build your own. We have tasted some amazing pizzas in Cape Town, but the Pizzeria is right up there with the best. Our only complaint would be that the toppings were a bit meagre, but this is preferable to an overloaded top, leading to a soggy bottom! Desserts were a slight disappointment (I don't think that milkshakes qualify as a dessert!), and whilst my Panna Cotta tasted okay, the texture was too runny. Otherwise, service was impeccable, the weather was perfect, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at both the wine tasting and at the Pizzeria. We look forward to a return visit.

Wonderful setting but much left to be desired.|Set in vineyards, one would have expected a welcoming complimentary Under Oaks wine . |The rooms are spacious and lovely- clean and well kept, the beds are comfortable|Very friendly and helpful staff|Breakfast- sparse menu - in this type of establishment and at these prices I expected much more variety! The breakfast is very limited and Under Oaks should really have a serious look at the breakfast offerings!|Overall, a worthwhile trip BUT there is definite room for improvements.
