Absolutely beautiful place. The people here are just amazing. It’s a hidden gem and I highly recommend you go check them out. The food is worth every penny. So much flavour, colour and ingredients. Chef really knows their stuff 😉. Ask the staff for recommendations if you’re stuck, their suggestions never disappoint. They have plenty of outdoor seating. A dog friendly place aswell 👍🏾. During peak hours I would recommend you call for bookings.

Great place! We got the pancakes and the seafood chowder, both were perfect. The coffee was far above average too. Easy parking too compared to the hassles and cost of doing so in the CBD. The menu is comprehensive with lots of tempting choices, far above average.

Love this place. It does pay to book as they do get busy. Staff are great and friendly, and food is delicious and worth the $$ When they are busy, patience is a must as they get food/ drinks out as fast as they can. Crotchet blankets on offer and dogs are allowed outside.

My time there was awesome. I loved the eggs Benny with Salmon I had. It was filling and delicious, and the customer service was perfect. Super friendly, polite, and kind. Made me feel like I was in my own home enjoying the meal. They also have a larger option for coffee(Bowl), which I thought was a great idea!!. Overall, my experience was peaceful, clothed with serenity. I would 100% be looking forward to the next experience 😁😁

Mmmm delicious smells and a busy atmosphere for a Sunday lunch here! Lots of spaces - we were in a private room but there are indoor and outdoor options available here. A pretty good menu too with a range of options & everything looked amazing! Brilliant service for a busy lunchtime. Very nice iced drinks which don’t have ice? I had a mocha iced drink it was delicious but it wasn’t a strong enough coffee hit for me. I ordered the avocado smash with poached eggs & it was great! The eggs were perfectly cooked and a friend didn’t want her bacon so I ate that as a bonus. The portions were very good! Another in our group had the fish of the day which looked to die for. The Thai beef salad looked good too but my friend said it tasted like a soy vinegar dressing which isn’t really that flavour in my understanding & she didn’t feel well in the afternoon so we wondered if it had some gluten in it? That was pretty much the only downer at a fabulous lunch out!

Yelp
The best brunch in Christchurch. Huge portions at reasonable prices & a great selection. There can be a wait at times due to the popularity but it is worth the wait. They also offer fantastic cabinet food if you want to grab a coffee & snack on the go. These guys also donate weekly meals to the homeless. Highly recommend a visit.

Yelp
Very disappointed with the lack of customer service. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, to be told, that they were closing in 25 minutes by a buxom woman leaning across the counter. That's fine the two of us replied. Another young woman arrived to tell us "Well you can only order out of the cabinet, the kitchen isnt preparing food anymore". Again, ok we can work with that. As we looked at the visually stunning savory food in the cabinet, the first lady told us " You cant order any savory food either, it will take to long too heat. You can have a coffee and something sweet Luv ". As a customer, i like to choose what i want to eat, and not be offered diminishing choices as the seconds run by. Also didnt feel the Luv. I informed her that I didnt want to eat anything sweet, and she shrugged. We took our $40 elsewhere. Maybe it's a NZ custom to do a soft close 30 minutes before hitting the closing time, if they had offered savoury food to go, it would have felt like some sort of service had been offered. Very disappointed, not what i had expected from such a well known institution, and will not recommend any of my friends and family in Chc go there.

Yelp
One of my favourite cafes in Christchurch, which coincidentally happens to be my local, just a 5 min stroll from my house. UTRV boasts some of the best food and best coffee to be found, with chatty, friendly staff, in a wonderful indoor/outdoor setting. Wonderful in summer as the seating in the large garden area accommodates many (dog friendly too!) and they even provide sun hats and sun cream, or blankets for those not-so-warm days. Indoors during winter is just as nice with a rustic feel, due to the earthquake-salvaged furniture and fixtures. The spanakopita from the cabinet is highly recommended for a quick bite if you're in a rush, but stay longer, if you can. It's worth it.
