Underwater World Langkawi

Visited to see at the penguins. Wasn’t disappointed. Both African and the Antarctic penguins are on exhibit in two large enclosures. There are also many other species of fish including a shark tank. Took around 1.5hours to explore the whole place. Worth a visit specially if you are travelling with kids.

Very nicely maintained and preserved place. My kid loved to see the Penguins walk swim right before her eyes and others like the jelly fish, gaint grouper and sharks were all very eye catching and the birds area was a bliss ! Thanks for the lovely memories

The entry tickets were a little pricey compared to the exhibit and animals inside... Really lovely place to take your kids as they will really enjoy seeing underwater animals this close.. There is a souvenir and toy shop at the end which is reasonably priced and they have some nice stuff toys for your child. They also have a duty free shop at the end where you can buy alcohol.. don't buy chocolates here as they are more expensive compared to the prices in India

Got penguins and underwater mammals! Hoping that they add more other exotic animals in this place later on. Interesting but limited view. Overall its fun and attractive. Buyung online ticket is more fast and got no processing fee currently.

My wife and I were here today (2 DECEMBER 2025) to visit this tourist attraction that is just walking distance from the hotel where we are staying in Langkawi - we are both local tourists from Johor Bahru. Both of us were very impressed by this tourist attraction, which despite the word "Underwater" in its name, showcases lots of fauna above water as well - for example, reptiles and birds, which were both interesting and beautiful to see. Likewise, we were enthralled by the many different types of live jellyfishes at this tourist attraction. We highly recommend this tourist attraction for first time visitors to Langkawi. The entire place within is well kept and air-conditioned.

I visited South Africa and I am surprised Malaysia government has taken the initiative to import penguin from there. It is worth seeing penguin and undersea with kids. Overall wonderful experience with reasonable price :- please buy ticket from klook

Bigger then expected with very interesting layout . Great place to spend time with kids. Definately must wait for the feeding session. Animals are active especially otter and dolphin! Really worth the visit.

A truly beautiful place! 🌿 We didn’t expect to see so many different species and for the whole complex to be designed so nicely. You walk through a jungle with parrots flying around, then move on to various sections with different animals. The highlight is definitely the two tunnels – one where you can see penguins and another with a mix of large fish.

If you haven't been to other underwater world, this is quite a decent one. But if you have been to the one in Singapore or KLCC, you won't be impressed. The maintenance here is obviously poor as some tanks are quite dirty. I feel sad for the animals in those dirty tanks. Here, you'll see cute penguins, plenty of other underwater creatures as well as birds like parrots and flamingos. There's also a section for you to touch some fishes but unfortunately they swam too fast for me to touch them. Price is very reasonable so you should definitely check this place out.

Underwater World is probably one of my personal favourite attractions in Langkawi Island. I was fond of aquatic life forms ever since I was a kid, and I will definitely visit Underwater World almost every time I have a chance to visit Langkawi for the holidays. This was one of the best public aquariums in Malaysia right before the establishment of Aquaria KLCC. Underwater World has been in operation for more than 2 decades if I remember correctly, you can actually feel it due to it's aging design of it's interiors. That being said, they still have one of the most comprehensive aquatic life on display both salt water and fresh water aquatic life, and they too have penguins on display as well (I'm not sure whether are they still on display or not). This is also one of the must visit attractions here in Langkawi as Underwater World used to be one of the best public aquariums in Malaysia (before the establishment of Aquaria KLCC). I do recommend this place for all the tourists (local or foreigners).

If you visited Langkawi, you most probably have already visited Underwater World, if you haven't, please do. I visited this place when I was a kid and I was the happiest kid ever. Now I visited it as a grown up and I'm still the happiest kid ever. The building has been here for many, many years now, but the aquatic life here is still magnificent as ever. Okay, everyone has already talk about this, but it's not something you stop talking about- PENGUINS! Haha, penguins are adorable, cute, pretty, beautiful, amazing, awesome, and most importantly, they're penguins. Do know that my previous sentence may sound weird, but penguins do make me go crazy. I love how you get to enjoy a closed up view of the ocean life while being on an island. It's also pretty cheap here in Langkawi as compared to the newer Aquaria in KL. Only about RM20/25 per? I didn't really pay attention as I just wanted to get in. You won't miss the aquarium and it's easy to find when you arrive at Chenang.

This is the first underwater world I have been going when I was a kid. And also, this is the first time I touched down at the land of West Malaysia. I can't forget my journey and excitement when I was brought to the amazing underwater world. Since it was a very long time ago, I don't remember the entrance fee but I think it was quite affordable because we were going in a big group. I don't think you need a tour guide, you just follow the crowd and seek for help if necessary. I never been to KLCC underwater world, so I won't compare it. But in my memory, this underwater world in Langkawi is beautiful and attractive. You got the chance to watch the aquaria life. Since it was my first time, I was amazed by the underwater world life. I love fish and I guess here is the place that I told myself to learn diving in future. I heard that now the underwater world in Langkawi is still well-maintained. It is truly a great new. I wish to go back next time when I visit to Langkawi. If you got the chance to go Langkawi, underwater world is the place you MUST visit!

Back when I was super young, like tiny, my parents brought me to Langkawi. My memory about Langkawi was just the very Huge Eagle and this Underwater World. I remember them bringing me to this place to see fishes, lots of them! As a child, this is the place you go 'wowwwwww'.... I was so amazed by all those funny looking weird fishes. Back then, this is sort of a must visit place whenever you visit Langkawi. Few years back, I get to revisit this place and refresh my memories. This time I went with my other half and our friends. On the request of the fish lover (my other half who have a thing for fishes), we visit Langkawi's Underwater World. Maybe because I'm older now and been to many Underwater World like Aquaria in KLCC and Melbourne Aquarium, there's not much 'wow' factor anymore as they have almost the same thing. But to my other half, he's still very excited as usual. He just love fishes and sea creatures. For those who haven't visit this place before, at least pay them a visit once and experience Malaysia's very first Underwater World.

HOLY MOTHER OF UNDERWATER!!! I love love underwater world so much. It's located at Pantai Cenang,(besisde coco valley) It cost about RM 40 for tourist and RM 20 for locals citizens. Underwater world has the BEST undercover of the aquatic world. I presumed it has similarity with aquaria KLCC initially but they sure surprise me. They brought aquatic life to a whole new dimension! a much more profound and deeper knowledge about aquatic life Not to mention they have so variety of species that you could never imagine. Plus, if you love PENGUINS. You come to the right place, they have ROCKHOPPER and other utterly cute penguins. Not just one or two, I am pretty sure they had at least 50 or more of them in the aquarium. But there's more, they even acquired SEAL as one of their companion. A legit seal. They are so cute and most certainly one of the fastest swimmer I ever seen. However, there's only two to three of them only :(. You could experience the ultimate aquatic life like never before!
