I’ve shopped here online and in the store, and both experiences were excellent. First class service, the kind you don’t find very often. I’ll be getting all my gear here from now on.

Drove up from NYC to exchange a pair of pants, couldnt ask for a nicer bunch of human beings running the shop! It was like meeting up with old friends, talked shop, tried on some stuff, bought some new stuff, just a great bunch of guys. The place is somewhat of a hidden gem, just look for the Kawasaki police motorcycle out front, actual store is upstairs, and is very nicely done up, my wife wanted to live there it was so nice. They also have a fantastic selection of gear, that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere or at least in the states. A great experience I've seldom encountered from other motorbike shops; kudos to Alex, Chris and Union Garage👍

Google
The best client support ever! I bought 2 articles ( back protector + suspenders) from Union Garage. One of them was delayed and the company reach out to me by email and by phone ( because I didn’t follow up on the email) to explain my options. Few minutes after our interaction everything was set. I love a company who apply to the e-business the client respect you have in a shop. In the future, whatever I need as a rider I will first give a chance to Union Garage.

Wanted to take a second to shout out the GREAT customer service as well. Was accidentally mailed a mismatched pair of boots, not only did they get the problem sorted same day that I summited it, but even called to apologize and let me know the replacement was on its way!! Old school customer service, thanks guys and you got a customer for life!

Google
I recently had the pleasure of purchasing motorcycle gear from Union Garage, and I must say that the experience was nothing short of excellent. I love the way the business looks, feels and conducts. From the moment I walked into their store, I was greeted by the friendly staff. Their exceptional knowledge and helpfulness truly made my shopping experience a breeze. Alex's expertise in motorcycle gear was evident from the get-go. As a first-time buyer, I had numerous questions and concerns about finding the right gear to suit my needs. Alex patiently listened to my requirements, understanding the importance of safety, comfort, and style. He has profound knowledge of the various brands, models, and features made me feel confident in their guidance. Not to mention, they have rare gear you would have a hard time finding in the states and also, in plenty of sizes. What impressed me the most about Alex was his willingness to go above and beyond to ensure I made an informed decision. He took the time to explain the different types of jackets, gloves, and boots available that I needed, highlighting the benefits and drawbacks of each option. His attention to detail was impeccable, addressing specific concerns I had regarding fit, durability, and protective features. Throughout the process, Alex never pushed me towards any particular product or the most expensive. Instead, encouraged me to try on different gear and allowed me to make my own choices. Dedication to customer satisfaction was evident, as he patiently adjusted sizes and provided honest feedback on the gear's performance and suitability. Alex also displayed a genuine passion for motorcycles and riding. Their enthusiasm was infectious and further fueled my excitement for my new gear. They even shared some insightful tips and tricks for maintenance, care, and recommended additional accessories that would enhance my overall riding experience. Ultimately, my experience buying motorcycle gear with Alex's assistance at Union Garage was flawless. His exceptional expertise, genuine passion, and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction surpassed my expectations. Thanks to Alex, I not only left the store with high-quality gear that perfectly met my needs but also with a newfound confidence and excitement for my future motorcycle adventures. I cannot recommend Union Garage and Alex's services enough. If you're looking for a knowledgeable and helpful expert to guide you through your motorcycle gear purchase, look no further. With their exceptional service, Union Garage and Alex have undoubtedly earned my highest praise and a well-deserved five-star rating! Kudos to Alex and the entire Union Garage staff for their outstanding service! I look forward to a journey with Union Garage! - Joe M

Google
Really great shop with tons of great gear. The retail space itself is rad and everyone working was extremely helpful and nice. This is going to be my go-to spot.

Google
Highly knowledgeable staff that live the lifestyle. Their selection of products is incredible and usually not found elsewhere. I'd also like to mention the place is just flat out cool, I highly recommend!

Google
I’ve been shopping at Union Garage for several years, starting in Brooklyn and now in Bridgeport. All my purchases have been top rate, thanks to the superb advice from the terrific staff/owners. Everyone there is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, patient and friendly (a big shout-out to Alex and Chris). The store carries high quality merchandise at very reasonable prices in a cool space.

Yelp
Although it's a bit off the beaten path, coming here is absolutely worth it. I came in for my first helmet and the staff did an excellent job explaining helmet sizing and how one should fit. The process was painless, thorough, and socially responsible (they give you a mask and gaiter for trying on helmets). Honestly, excellent customer service. I had recently come from another shop that sort of snubbed me, but coming here I felt very welcome. Will definitely be returning for all of my gear.

Mark K.

Yelp
Union Garage is old-world excellence. I ordered some John Doe pants a few weeks ago. A national shipping carrier managed to screw it up spectacularly. It had nothing to do with Union Garage. They did everything they were supposed to. Once we realized that things had gone off the rails, Chris and Alex went above and beyond to help sort it out. Their attitude through the whole process was amazing. Union Garage is run by stand-up guys who love the motorcycle community. This is why I support brick and mortar stores. I'd do business again with them anytime. Five stars all the way.

Jay M.

Yelp
Great service, very helpful and professional Highly recommend this place for parts and cool Gear. JC

Yelp
They are in their new space now and open for retail business. Visited them on 10/30/22. What a great place. I am a new rider and needed the basics (jacket, pants, gloves). Great selection here. Knowledgeable friendly staff. Its a really good space. Prices were good. Will definitely return Not being familiar with Bridgeport I was curious as to if the location would have convenient parking (it does) or if there would be any externalities associated with the town (there weren't - its in a nice part of town). Highly recommended!

Yelp
I've been wanting to check this place out for a while now and finally got a chance to check the showroom out with my wife. First off, it's laid out very well; the whole place had a vibe that made me want to hang out and try just about everything on. There aren't a lot of spots in and around NYC that you can try on a wide selection of Moto gear and Union garage fits that bill. My wife ended up getting a Revit jacket that she fell in love with. She found the CE level 2 back protector from Revit to be too bulky so they cut a D30 back protector to fit the jacket perfectly. But that's not where the customer service ended. I, like an idiot, left my ignition on on my bike and killed the battery. They were able to charge the battery for me while I toured the area and get me back on the road. Saved the day! The prices are on par with online competitors but you end up paying in taxes. But if you want to support your local shop and you want to have the luxury of going to an amazing shop with top level customer service, you STFU pay the tax like a goddamn American. lol. I know where I'm getting my next bit of gear.

Claudia S.

Yelp
This place is a treasure, and easy to get there by car or motorcycle. Great staff, and an amazing selection of gear. It almost feels like an art space - super high ceilings, brick walls, the cool feel of cement under your feet -great vintage bikes on display, big leather couches, no pressure staff, but at the ready when you're ready to get into the weeds about their fantastic gear and helmets.... I sometimes stroll by just to look at the bikes parked outside of customers that come from far and wide. It's a testament to this shop that it was able to survive these crazy times. Highly recommend.

Lucinda L.

Yelp
I liked this store. It was clean, easy to shop and store manager was very helpful. Plus the area is nice to visit if you live in the city. The downside is that the merchandise is limited to selection, so call ahead to make certain something is in stock and perhaps ask them to order it for your arrival. Other than that, it is worth the visit

Max B.

Yelp
Excellent motorcycle accessory shop with the most competitive prices in the country (even online). The sales staff is very helpful/ knowledgeable & not pushy. The selection they have meets all price ranges & styles. This is a true motorcycle shop with genuinely nice people.

Joe S.

Yelp
Love that the staff was wearing mask. Everyone was very helpful. They have an array of cool motorcycle gear and accessories. I took the long drive from the Bronx to check them out and was not disappointed. I will be returning with my son and son in law.

Jamie K.

Yelp
went in here to buy a jacket. i'm transgender and they were very normal and not weird about helping me try on a variety of men's and women's jackets. prices were competitive with online. will definitely shop here again.

John R.

Yelp
Just bought a pair of pannier/saddlebag mounting brackets for my 2018 Triumph Bonneville T120. The product was well made and bolted on easily. The black, stainless brackets are quite solid. I found the staff to be very knowledgable and helpful. It's a good place to find accessories for Triumph owners.

Omarhi R.

Yelp
The sales staff at Union Garage was great! Now that that's out the the way LOL, this place looks cool, you definitely want to stay longer than 20 minutes but hey COViD sucks for us all. They have a really really nice selection of jackets, pants, gloves, helmets and gear. Went in for gloves left with glove and pants, and very happy. I'll be back soon.

Jimmy L.

Yelp
I am almost hesitant in writing this positive review because this place is a real hidden gem. ...and I'm tempted to keep it that way :). I went on a Thursday afternoon, so it was understandably quiet. I was just going to check out some helmets. First off, the store is very classy in an urban way. They carry some real high end stuff that I haven't seen in other box stores. The layout is clean and comfortable. The saleswoman that helped me was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the helmets. She didn't just regurgitate the stuff from the catalog. She obviously rides and gave me her opinion about the helmets. She was not pushy at all. Offered me the 2 helmets that I was contemplating and left me alone on the comfy couch to just get acquainted with them. She checked on me every now and then to make sure if I had any questions. Not in a pushy. And then here's the kicker....She asked if I wanted a bottle of water or a coffee while I decided. WHAT??!!!! I am so use to the pretentious snarky salespeople in the other stores that this was a such a shock to the system. So, long story short, I ended up buying the helmet. The price was very close to the big online stores, but with this level of services I would rather pay the few extra dollars to support this business. I will definitely be going back. Tell your friends about this place...but not too many friends :)

Simón L.

Yelp
Henry was really helpful - knew his stuff perfectly and guided me through the entire process. Initially went in to check the brands they carry, which are rare to see in a physical shop - Stylmartin, Kriega, etc. The Stylmartin shoes I was looking for were not available "in situ", but he was able to show me an equivalent model and offered me the chance to have the model I wanted specially ordered, at no extra cost. Again, very satisfied and he definitely knows how to guide and treat the client. Will come back!

Tom K.

Yelp
I checked this place out for the first time today. Shameful that I've never been here before considering I get a panelle sandwich right up the block almost monthly (Ferdinando's Focacceria). I've been wanting to get a RAM Tough-Claw Handlebar Rail Mount with X-Grip Holder for my HD Roadster/iphone but did not know what combination would work. The guy there let me take the display unit out to my bike to see if it fit. It did and I bought it for less than I could have at Revzilla and ebay! The place and people are super cool. There is a large selection of gear and you can support a local Brooklyn business without spending extra cash. Plenty of space to park your bike...ya can't lose yo!

Michael C.

Yelp
I have hardly ever been to a store and thought: I hope this becomes an international franchise because this is the best. Union Garage has everything: staff that have all the information about their products and how they fit with different customers, plus superior products, plus a great location, plus character. It was easy to find what I was looking for as a first time rider. There isn't a bunch of cheap, magin-padding crap throwing you off the trail. Just high quality stuff suitable for different needs. Nothing here is redundant, it's all with a purpose. It didn't hurt that everything fit just right. They make a point to stock a huge range of sizes, since fit matters for protective clothing more so than for regular clothing. As far as price: good gear is pricey and it pays to invest if your safety. Add in fit, build quality and, yes, looks, it's a fine bargain. I really hope to see a Union Garage in every city I visit one day. Riders outside of NYC really don't know what they're missing.

Dana R.

Yelp
Came here to get the ram mount for my cell phone. I love this place because you know they have the top gear for sale and none of that cheap stuff. I always make sure I skip my dealership and head out to Brooklyn when I need good riding equipment and this place has most of our urban riding needs in stock . I will be back yet again to get some gear for my wifey( her jacket is trash)

Akil N.

Yelp
Their level of service and carefully selected product portfolio are fantastic. It took me two tries to get the right helmet and jacket but I ended up with a combination which is safe functional and that I love day in day out. Most importantly is that I have a helmet which fits. I would never have gotten this customized fit (swapping out helmet padding for the right size for me) by ordering over the web or for that matter ... In many retail shops in NYC. It's a bit of a haul from Upper Manhattan; look on the web site and call in advance. Update: I bought a second helmet from Henry, and he was fantastic about transferring my Sena to it. These guys are a step above the rest! Thank you!

Kenny D.

Yelp
No clue what curt f and Mecca j are on here, my guess is they're employed by or friends with a competitor. Or just can't be pleased regardless. Enough on patently fake reviews and on to substance. The guys are quite helpful and the prices match every single place I've shopped online. I'm talking revzilla, motorcyclegear.com, and motochanic, the largest online stores out there. Union has a small selection of items that don't make you look like a branded rolling asshat and keep you safe. It works for me, lower key high quality gear that doesn't announce 'Hey I have a yellow cbr that matches this jacket!' (Apologies if that's your thing) Ride safe everyone, dying is overrated.

Alexander G.

Yelp
They're expanding to the space next door, but the small square-footage at the current shop accounts for this place's unusually great concentration of awesome, obscure motorcycle gear brands. I research the hell out of motorcycle equipment before I buy anything, and this place stocks all the best stuff -- Rev'It!, RAM mounts, Schuberth helmets. It's all top-tier stuff, and they have a lot in stock. Getting to try stuff on (rather than gambling by ordering online) is worth the trip to Red Hook. All the guys at the shop (Conrad and another girl whose name I can't remember) are unpretentious, know a ton about their products, and are worth meeting just to talk bikes. They always have people coming in just to say hello, which says a lot about a store. As a San Francisco riding transplant, glad to find this hub for fellow New York riders. I'll be ordering my next bit of gear through them. The expertise of the folks in the shop is worth it.

Tom G.

Yelp
I've only ever ordered through their website, but it was a great experience, and the Lee Parks Deer Tours gloves from my last order feel and look better with every passing day! Wish I lived on this coast so I could shop in the physical store - and I'd definitely be joining you on your upcoming ride instead of a certain other event...!! Keep up the good work guys :-)

Curt F.

Yelp
If these guys were selling ego instead of moto gear, they'd get five stars! Be prepared to be ignored and looked passed while you wait to spend money while they tend to their personal friends just hanging out in the shop. Also, be prepared for a very limited selection backed by their attitude that anything they carry are better than brands that are industry standards in the field. (helmets are laughable!) Hurts to say it, but I get better service off my usual mail order place...at least they answer the phone with a friendly "hello" and make exchanges easy enough when something doesn't fit quite right. I have feeling these guys picked up their attitude from the owner of the garage next door, who has some interest in this shop. My advice: steer clear. It will soon be something else soon anyway with the business formula they are following! :(

Mosey L.

Yelp
This place has a 5 star rating by every reviewer. It's for a reason. They have a passion for all things motorcycle and it shows. This is probably the best place in NYC to get your gear on. First - it's on a great block. Custom motorcycle restoration and repair shop next door. Down the block is a Vespa repair shop. Calexico is nearby for lunch or dinner (delicious). There are always cool bikes either next door or even right in front of the shop. That alone is worth the visit. The owner chris and his employees are more then helpful. They are patient. Low pressure. Informative. If they don't know something about a product they google it before you you could turn around. They are very friendly and never make you feel out of place just for being a new rider (which I am). Over the past 5 months I bought 2 helmets, a jacket, pants, boots, 2 pairs of gloves, a Bluetooth system for my helmets, neck warmer / wind blocker, and a license plate bracket. I'm on my way their shortly to pick up a new tire gauge. I started small with just a helmet and gloves. I kept coming back for more. I spent many many hours in the shop over the past few months just trying on gear and thinking about usability. They never pressured me or even seemed annoyed like the time I tried on helmets for 1.5 hours straight and didn't buy anything. They are fairly priced and honest. They have a great sense of community and hold random great events. Follow them on Instagram for amazing photos of great weekend riding shots and beautiful random bikes. Follow them on twitter and Facebook to see new products or specials. Of last note - they recently got in to manufacturing. They put out a truly beautiful jacket that they designed themselves. Make sure to check it out. Chris if you are reading this, best of luck and thanks again for helping me enjoy my motorcycle.

Baris E.

Yelp
Friendliest staff and hand picked collection for any bike enthusiast. They can match online prices most of the time, they have a large selection available in store to try, and there is always coffee, donuts and nice conversations. My first couple of visits were for purely shopping. But now I'm hooked up and I stop by on my rides and commutes to say hi and check out the new merchandise. If you happen to be in Brooklyn and own a motorcycle, make sure you stop by Union Garage!

Heather S.

Yelp
I was only along for the ride so to speak during my visit. I was not the one actually purchasing anything motorcycle related but spent a good amount of time in the shop listening to the sales process and getting to know the guys in the shop. I was impressed by how knowledgeable, friendly and honest the sales guy was and by his willingness to make sure everything was taken care of. The shop is small with limited merchandise but they will order anything for you if needed. My favorite part were the gorgeous custom shelves.

Brad M.

Yelp
I'm a first time biker and picked up the essential at Union Garage. They were incredibly helpful, knew their shit and were able to make clear recommendations at a number of price points. I'll be back for sure.

I.C. O.

Yelp
My favorite motorcycle riding equipment destination. I get to try out everything, and it's two blocks away (not kidding) from my house - though I am not sure how "good" this proximity is as my riding gear expenses seem to have taken a life of their own and have started multiplying by themselves. Very knowledgeable staff, well balanced, highest quality selection - which is a great plus. Imagine being thrown into a department store and trying to figure out what's going on on which shelf and what isle; then compare that mental image with this one: you have a specific, targeted and high quality selection that comes in with a cup of espresso and live chat in front of you. Can't get better than this. Now, let me try that jacket, please. Yes, medium, and large, and I want to compare it with this one... and the gloves, wow, nice boots...

C C.

Yelp
I love this place. The staff is always really helpful even though I am looking for some of the most basic equipment. They're willing to talk about their personal experiences with some of the equipment. It's a fantastic neighborhood resource. However, keep in mind that this place sells premium equipment at premium prices. They do not stock lower-end, low priced products. Keep that in mind before making an impulse buy.

Vassili S.

Yelp
I love this place. Great people. Went in when I first got my bike and had nothing but a helmet. Found a sexy sexy sexy Aether jacket and some mega erotic lee parks gloves - so now i'm a mega cool guy when I cruise about. Great spot.

Sandeep S.

Yelp
This place is great! What they lack in retail floor space they definitely make up for in customer service. I walked in looking for a open face helmet from Bell and after a few different tries and a head measurement due to my apparently irregular shaped head (thanks mum & dad!) I was encouraged to take the helmet and goggles out for a spin. Definitely was not expecting that recommendation nor level of trust. Chris was fantastic the whole way through and even offered me some espresso. They have a great (but small) selection of gear from Rev-it, Schott, Bell, Gore Tex amongst a few others. I ended up leaving the store with this awesome jacket from Rev-it called the "Opera jacket". Think Mad Men meets Motorcycles. Besides the retail space they also have a repair shop and specialize in vintage bikes (think Moto-guzzi, Norton's, etc). I don't usually asked to be put on business mailing lists but this was one store I couldn't pass up. They had so many things I'd never seen or known about in motorcycle gear. Will definitely be back much to my wallet's chagrin.

Alexis K.

Yelp
I needed to gear up from head to toe after 20 years off motorbikes. Chris was welcoming, generous with his advice, and did not push for the hard sale even though he stocks the best gear around. You will get every thing you need to meet your needs at Union Garage, and you also feel like you belong to a community of riders who want to hang out together. To anybody who needs a piece of gear, some sound advice, or just to have a chat about bikes (do drop by the awesome service shop next door...), you will be hard pressed to find a better place in the tri-state area. What are you waiting for?

Dave N.

Yelp
I literally purchase all my riding gear here. I've been riding for almost a decade, about just as long as they have been open and have been a repeat customer since day 1. As time grows, the employees have become friends and the atmosphere here only grows into someplace where you'd just like to be. Always a fan. A customer for life. Thanks Henry and Chris for making union garage what it is.

John H.

Yelp
I trekked to Union Garage from Queens to buy my first motorcycle helmet (which I was planning to use for the Basic Rider Course). First thing I noticed was how meticulously all the merchandise was laid out. The store is definitely beginner rider-friendly. Derek immediately made shopping for a helmet less intimidating as he was super friendly and patient as he walked me through how a proper motorcycle helmet should fit without any pressure points. He let me try on a $600 dollar helmet and even let me walk around the store with it to see if any pressure points develop. I ended up settling for a white Shoei RF-1200 (which they didn't carry at the time). Unfortunately, Fedex didn't deliver the helmet on time for me to use for BRC. However, Union Garage was courteous enough to throw in a t-shirt to apologize for the delay which they didn't have to do. I really appreciated the gesture! Thanks Derek! Union Garage is all about customer service. I've already recommended my BRC classmates to go and check out their shop!

K T.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I really like this place. We both ride and they have a good selection of gear but most importantly you're met with great customer service. I can't remember the girl's name but she was incredibly helpful and patient while we both tried on many helmets. My boyfriend had actually been wearing the wrong helmet size for a number of years only going off of the "feel" rather than actually measuring his head (ridiculous, I know). He finally figured out the size he should be wearing but they didn't have that particular size in stock yet although it was already on the way with their next shipment. We normally do our ordering online but this is somewhere that we will return to purchase items solely because of their customer service. That's very important to me. We've also been to Jane a number of times and have never once been helped for gear.

CD P.

Yelp
This place is great, I've been coming here for odds & ends etc since it was a tiny shop in the wall.. now it's been better with the expansion of the space. Real professional, really caring staff, knowledgeable and dedicated to the art and culture of bikes. Can't find a better place to pick up a new helmet, bluetooth, or clothing/gear.

Natalie Z.

Yelp
Great motorcycle shop! I came to visit on the hunt to find a specific riding jacket. Unfortunately, they did not have the size I needed. But that was not an obstacle! Conrad tracked down the jacket in the correct size. He was extremely helpful and got it to me a day earlier than expected. (Mind you this jacket was sold out EVERYWHERE) Definitely going to shop here again.. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Lee L.

Yelp
I bumbled into this store on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised. The staff (2 men and a woman) was extremely helpful. I browsed, tried on jackets, several pants and locks for my bike. They went outside to my bike to try locks and other accessories. They answered many questions I had about riding in general and were very sweet.

Myles B.

Yelp
Really nice motorcycle shop. Came in looking for gloves and ended up having a complimentary espresso, and bought an excellent iPhone/EZpass mount and a UG t-shirt. Chris was great-took his time discussing a variety of motorcycle accessories and never made me feel as if I should buy something. I'll definitely be back.

Pittwr ..

Yelp
Drove 1 1/2 hours based on the reviews and I was not disappointed. The staff was very helpful finding the right helmet for me and surprisingly the one that fit the best was the least expensive. I had money left over to buy more stuff. Great selection of quality boots and jackets. I'll be back!

Fuzzy D.

Yelp
Allowed a return even though I'd lost the box. Super friendly, knows his product, and has the good stuff. Everything in there is quality.

Sri R.

Yelp
Went here right before taking my MSF class March 1st to check out what they had and to try on helmets, jackets, etc. Chris was extremely helpful picking out a helmet, jacket, and gloves. It's a little bit of a pain to get to (especially if it's cold out) but it was totally worth it for the wealth of information I received with no sales pressure. If they don't have something in stock, they'll have it ordered. Walked out of there with a Bell helmet and Revit gloves. Had to order the jacket. Would definitely go back to future needs.

Matthew W.

Yelp
Came in here over the weekend for a helmet. I'm sure I looked like a huge newbie (I'm not very experienced, I'm taking my MSF course at the end of the month), but the guy who helped me out was very friendly, helpful, and patient, and guided me towards what seems like a great helmet purchase. I'll definitely be giving them my business whenever possible (plus, it also gives me an opportunity to go to Calexico down the street, but shhh... They don't need to know that).

Chris P.

Yelp
Despite having passed by Union Garage a bunch (my mechanic is next door), I only recently had a chance to stop in and check it out. A friend recently purchased a motorcycle and is in the process of gearing up, so we spent a good two hours in the store trying on boots, pants--you name it. Chris and his employee(s) were extremely helpful and patient (Euro sizing can be a pain sometimes). Prices are also extremely competitive and per other reviews, basically match online prices 1:1. Can't wait to see their new, larger space once it opens!

Alex H.

Yelp
This is an awesome store. They carry high quality stuff at prices very similar to what you'd find online. Chris, who owns and runs the place, is friendly and knowledgeable. It's pretty small but he seems to have a good selection of what I'm looking for. Why would you ever buy stuff online when you could buy from a cool local business run by a nice guy.

Justin V.

Yelp
Surprisingly there aren't a lot of good places to get motorcycle gear in NYC. Luckily there's Union Garage. If you ride classic bikes then you'll find what you need. I've purchased three helmets, one jacket, and two sets of gloves from them (for me and my girlfriend). Plus, their customer service is impeccable.

Lou S.

Yelp
I took the MSF course in July 2013. After getting my motorcycle license, I decided to buy a bike. Bought a 2004 Honda Shadow 600cc so I can bang it up before buying a newer one in about a year. I did some research to find the best gear possible. Union Garage came up and I especially liked the reviews, including the Customer Service reviews. After having the bike dropped off to me from the previous owner, I immediately registered it and had it wait until I can go to Union Garage and get the Gear. When I went there, I was greeted by one of the sales personnel. He was very nice and explained to me about the quality of each gear that I needed in very good detail. I felt incredibly comfortable. I decided that I would by the full set of gear. That included: - Helmet - Boots - Jacket - Gloves - Magnet Container At this time, I met the owner, Chris. He was so incredibly nice and helpful. If you want to go to a place which will make you feel like a real paying customer, this is the place! I've been to other Bike shops, and some are good, but I have not been treated better or have had the opportunity to buy the top quality gear like at Union Garage. I wound up buying an excellent Bell helmet. I was fitted with one of their display models to make sure the one I was ordering would fit correctly. The boots was incredible good quality and very stylish. It fits almost perfectly. I chose 2 pairs of gloves actually. One for casual riding. The other was a Tan Leather glove which was really stylish! I had to get it. Chris showed me a line of his Customized Motorcycle Jackets that was actually made of Horsehide! Wow... it was beautiful! However, since my size is very difficult to get, I have large arms, a barrel chest on a shorter frame, I chose to have it adjusted. Chris took my measurements and sent in the order. I just picked up the Jacket and rode for an hour. It fits perfectly, felt comfortable and very protective! Although I did spend quite a bit on Gear, I was treated so well, the prices were very reasonable, that I cannot give Union Garage anything but a 5 Star! If you are like me and what the best stuff (especially since I am a new rider), I very highly recommend Union Garage!

Yelp
I came in because I bought a bike and needed all the gear. I emailed the address on the website and Chris emailed back within a few hours answering all my questions. He kept the store open late when I said I could just barely make it before the scheduled closing time. He was honest about the strictly necessary vs. "a good idea" gear depending on what type of riding I was planning on doing and wasn't at all pushy. I ended up buying a helmet and a jacket and putting my name down for some boots. Out of curisority, I looked up the prices of the helmet and jacket on Amazon, the helmet was the same price on Amazon and the jacket was cheaper in the store than on random online sites (couldn't find on Amazon). I was expecting to pay more for Chris's awesome service so that was an unexpected but awesome surprise.

Yelp
At first glance, this place seems pretty overpriced but, comparing the prices to the competition, they're very consistent and fair. The reality is that they pretty much mainly carry premium, trusted products, and that's why their prices may seem steep. That was my initial impression. I came here before they renovated and it was cool but, now, after the renovation, I absolutely love what they've done with the place. It's also perfectly themed and stocked for urban riders, giving a great selection of gear that goes well with mostly people who ride cafe racers, but definitely all sorts of other styles. The selection of gear isn't super broad, but you can't expect that from them, as this is a pretty small store. But, everything they have is on their website, so you can do the research before you take the trip there. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I'll be going back there today to buy some stuff with confidence, knowing that what I'm getting is quality product.

Yelp
I ordered an item on their website and then got an email saying my order was canceled because of some glitch in the price listed. I think a business with good customer service would honor the advertised price or at least offer a coupon for the hassle, they didn't extend either. This just comes off as bait and switch. Would not recommend.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. While the selection is of course smaller than what you'll find online, the products for sale seem to have been selected for quality. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable and, lastly, the store takes full responsibility if you have a problem with a purchase. I purchased a Rev't jacket there and about a month later one of the buttons popped off (Otherwise, the jacket was and still is excellent). I called up Union Garage and the owner not resolved the issue but also compensated me for the inconvenience.
