The bar area is nice, very lowkey and good for conversation; the staff are all nice.
I went here because my friends and I bought tickets to see a comedy show in the basement; it was sold out, but it was insane how many people were there considering there were only 50-ish tickets for sale. Doors for the show opened at 7, we got there at 7:15, and there were so many people that there was not enough standing room to see the show. We could only get standing room right next to the door, and even so the door wouldn’t have had enough room to close completely because we were legitimately blocking the hinges, half-outside of the basement.
We got stamped, tried to tough out the standing situation, but ended up leaving by around 7:30. It was so unenjoyable to be in there, aside from it definitely being a fire hazard, that we left. I don’t know how the venue allowed this situation to get as out of control as it did.
I think that the venue should sell the tickets directly in the future so they can track the attendance and cap it after a certain number. There were no less than 120 people downstairs, it was a dangerous situation at worst, and a disaster at best.
Like I said, the staff were nice. I’m sure the entertainment was great, I just hoped that my group would have been able to actually be in the room for an event that we paid to attend. 2/5 for poor event planning, everything else was good or passable
