Union Handmade is permanently closed

This is a hidden gem in the North Centre neighborhood of Chicago. Union Handmade offers a variety of item from jewelry, clothing, hats, pajamas, scarves etc. Its beautifully curated & lots of one of a kind finds. I love getting gifts too! They are on Lincoln Ave. just South of Irving Park. You’ll be happy you stopped ❤️

a thoughtful and beautiful shop full of things you won't find anywhere else. clothing, knits, jewelry and a huge selection of hand made hats! no big brands here-almost everything is made locally and the store is staffed and run by the designers themselves. you can feel good about buying and supporting local. the shop also has several charming neighbors; you will want to make time to visit them all.

I have bought my wife clothing and jewelry at this amazing store. She loves the beautiful unique offerings they have and I have to say that the staff (who i believe are some of the designers) are the nicest people you will ever meet. All in all its a wonderful place to experience.

It's almost 2 years since I rented the space 2 doors down from Union Handmade. I couldn't believe my luck when I discovered the space was available! I was an enthusiastic Union Handmade fan and shopper! Of the many things I like about this store is the commitment to quality. Quality of craft, skill and design; integrity in every single aspect of the business. Working with Leigh and the other artists at Union is an honor and I'm forever grateful to Leigh for trailblazing in the design world and pioneering in this neighborhood. If not for Union we wouldn't have our wonderful "Makerhood"!

Timeless elegance and beauty! That is how I describe everything in this little shop on Lincoln Avenue. Leigh Deleonardo designs simply beautiful clothing that flatters all figures; I have worn her pieces for years and they remain my favorites. Lovely jewelry, scarves, hats, and other gift items are made by local artists, who often are working in the store. Do stop by, have a look, enjoy a chat and pop in the neighboring stores as well, (also owned by local artists). It is a delightful slice of Lincoln Avenue.....

I had a great experience at Union Handmade. I am physical therapist, so I need to be able to move and freely, but look professional at that same time. Leigh, the owner of the store, helped me try on several different pairs of pants. She explained that the hardiest pants are made with pure fibers (not blends) because the fibers are much stronger and much less likely to split when they are the 100% wool for example (obviously important considering the active nature of my job). The pair that I liked best fit me nearly perfectly, except they were a little large in the waist. Leigh measured and then sent them out to her tailor to have then adjusted and now they fit as if they were made just for me. I am so happy! Leigh and I also talked about how fabrics that are designed for men are typically a lot studier than the fabrics that are used to make women's clothes. I've always noticed this and been annoyed about it, but no one else seems to talk about it. But Leigh knew, too. And apparently she and the other designers sometimes buy men's fabric to make women's clothes! Yay for quality feminine clothes!

I love this place!! Exquisitely designed and beautifully made garments, hats and jewelry- The employees are always welcoming and warm. If you are opposed to fast fashion, this is the place to shop.
