The absolute best service !! There is someone to help you everywhere.. Police presence at all time. You feel secure 100% I have been followed and the man left when he saw an officer not far.. It's amazing how much empathy and compassion those employees have towards customers. I highly recommend to go to this place at least once. Thank you for your service and kindness.

Centrally located in Toronto City as a transportation hub. The underground food court has plenty of choices. The vertical columns are majestic displays of the past ornaments.

Toronto Union Station is a large and beautiful train station, very well maintained, with incredibly friendly staff. From here you can take trains to major cities like Montreal and New York, making it a key transportation hub in Canada. Today we planned to take the UP Express to the airport, but it was under maintenance. Even so, the station offered buses to the airport, everything was clearly marked, and the whole process was perfectly organized. Overall, it was a great experience, they truly provide excellent service.

Our first time to visit Toronto downtown. When we walked around this building , I didn’t realize it is Union station. When I entered it, huge space and high ceiling is very impressive. I saw many people who buy train ticket and waiting to the train . We walk inside to access the CN tower. Walking inside to experience the feeling of previous Movie filming here. Another city landmark in Toronto worthy to visit.

Union Station completely surprised me. I was only passing through to change transportation on my way to the CN Tower, but the moment I stepped inside, I didn’t feel like leaving. The place has such a lively buzz—restaurants, cafés, shops, and people everywhere, yet it all feels inviting rather than overwhelming. We grabbed coffees and croissants, found some high seats in the middle of the wide walkway, and just sat there watching the world go by. The mix of young students, professionals rushing around, and travelers like me created such an energetic vibe. There was even live music playing at one of the restaurants, which made me want to stay longer. One spot I really enjoyed was a Korean place with plenty of tasty takeout options. Honestly, I left wishing I had a few days just to explore all the food here—it felt like every corner had something new to try. What I loved most is that Union Station isn’t just a transit hub, it feels like part of Toronto’s everyday life. Sitting there with my coffee, watching the flow of people as a tourist, made me feel like I got a glimpse of everyday Toronto life. It was one of those unexpected travel moments that stay with you.

Pretty Art Noveau building with loads of character. The crazies, junkies, and homeless made me homesick for San Francisco. I can so that the Canadians dont poop on the ground like their Southern brethren. Great area with plenty to do around: aquarium, cn tower, breweries etc

This is the main train station in Toronto, so if you are using any of the trains to connect to cities outside Toronto, you will most likely catch it here. The other main feature of Union Station is the shopping area located in the lower level. It hosts many restaurants, a food court, shops and service offices. It's a great place to sample different foods from different vendors...it's a great food hall.

Why do I always get lost here whenever I come? And the never-ending construction. Sigh.

This is the hub of Toronto and GTA's public transit. It connects TTC subway and streetcars to Go Trains and Go Buses. It's a massive station with underground food court and access to PATH (Toronto's underground financial center); I always get lost in here lol. One of the perks is that the entrances are right outside Scotiabank Arena entrances. One of the other perks is that there's a direct pathway to Toronto Metro Convention Centre; makes it easier to get to conferences away from summer heat and winter cold.

Much very nice . This is Toronto Version of Grand Central Terminal or Penn station From New York City . And the bus & Metro station are in the area . I was in town for Caribania -Caribbean Festival early this year . I love Toronto it's beautiful and I love this station it reminds me of Grand Centeral Terminal . Muchly beautiful. Architect , Fashion- Interior design .( Love the Art work work of this Hugh hall terminal ceiling station ) if you're in downtown Toronto please visit , not to far from Toronto Raptors basketball stadium (let's not forget a Canadian invented basketball )............"Oh Canada" P.S. 1. there the GO trains ( there can take to suburbs of Ontario ) and there trains and buses that can bring you to different Canadian province of Quebec - Montreal and etc parts of beautiful Canada that's had to offer ! 2. There a McDonald's and Tim Hortons cafe' inside the GO Trains , Arrivals & Departure area , and there have tickets agents that are friendly to help you if you need assistance !!!!!

Always bustling. Now, after the renovations, has plenty of new restaurants catering to different cultures and a food court if you feel like it. Connections to GO and Via. I love what they have done with this place.

Yelp Review 2023 #73: Typically, Union Station or Central Station in bigger cities connects commuters to different transportation options that go anywhere in the city and beyond. Union Station in Toronto allows you to take trains, trams, buses to/ from downtown Toronto, neighboring towns, Niagara Falls, and the airport. It's spacious. Signs are easy to follow in the main hall whether you're using TTC, GO Transit or UP. There are shops and food stalls on a different floor. You can get Japanese custard tarts, coffee, fast food, souvenirs, etc. GoodLife Fitness is here too if you want to workout. I didn't notice if they have free wifi at the station. I think I tried connecting but I had to provide personal information so I just skipped it. There are taxis outside as well.

Does anyone know if there are luggage lockers at the station? Where are they located? No phone for station info!

Toronto is a big city and appropriately the Union Station is grand and busy. Great location of course and where a lot of the Toronto public transport options converge. I have taken the Go Train many times and have never had a bad experience. Hope I did not jinx it!

Make sure to take a second to appreciate the architecture, the deals and the beauty. We used Union Station as the main access for the UP Express (Rail) to and from the airport. Other than that just the subway as an access point or passing stop. If visiting from out of town, the Tourist Information Centre is located in the lower level. It was extremely helpful upon arrival and they were great to answer any questions and provide guidance. Need help getting around, we used www.ttc.ca/trip-planner Recommend the PRESTO card! Load money and swipe and go. Reload as needed. Found it very helpful and good for subway, streetcars, and UP Express. Check out website for more info. Found it a perfect option while on vacation and exploring the city.

If you plan to attend events in the Toronto downtown core, you will have to get familiar with Union Station. The shops here are decent and you can find a quick meal, but understanding how to navigate the station will help you more easily get around Toronto. The TTC is the best way to get around Toronto. There is a dedicated train that will take to the airport, to all the major attractions in the city, and connect you with all the main sights you will likely go to on your visit. Don't take a taxi or rent a car as in many cases the TTC is faster.

This station is HUGE !!!!! It has a whole food court in it, Shopping, etc.. I get lost of course and am very bad with direction, so my son has to show me exactly where to go when coming & leaving Toronto. People are very rude there & refuse to get out of your way, which is why I missed my train home by 1 minute. But when they wanna move, they will shove you right out of the way. I love the choices of restaurants though to eat from. It's a good variety.

Union Station. It's funny how I've never reviewed it. It's a transportation hub for the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission), VIA rail, GO, and the UP Express that gets you to and from Pearson International Airport. I always associated Union Station as that U-shaped part of the Yonge-University-Spadina line that is nowknie as TTC's line 1. Naturally, it doesn't end at Spadina these days, but Vaughan! I spent a lot of time taking the TTC to get me to a bunch of downtown locations when I didn't own a car and lived in the GTA during my past and current stints. SkyDome (now Rogers Centre). Air Canada Centre (now Scotiabank Arena). Metro Toronto Convention Centre (still named that). When I worked at Brookfield Place over a decade ago. I took the GO train between Milliken and Union stations. I loved that it was a 17-minute ride between Union and Kennedy, which would allow me to take a nap and wake up once the train got to Kennedy. It's cool that once in a while, there are vendors at the station handing out freebies. I always have appreciated unexpected perks. I have picked up everything from tabasco sauce to granola bars. I have also been hungry and needed a snack before boarding the train or subway. I remember recently getting a beef patty. It hit the spot. This station connects you to Scotiabank Arena, Brookfield Place, and other places along the PATH (underground pathway). It's perfect when the weather isn't stellar, and you want to stay dry, warm, and happy indoors. Union Station has gone through a facelift over the past few years. I don't recognize many old parts anymore, but it does look cheerful, roomy, and better. It serves its purpose to move people from one place to another, with places to eat and drink. (445)

Main transportation hub of Toronto. Here you will find Via Rail, Go Train, TTC, and Union Pearson Express. The station is super busy at all times. Outside, you sometimes find businesses handing out samples. One time, I got a bag of Takis chips and the other time alcohol Fireball. The station is located in downtown Toronto. The station is clean at all times. All transportations taken here are inexpensive and super convenient.

After two years living in a pandemic it was time to head back into public transit. I decided to get the $10 day pass for Go Bus unlimited which wasn't bad for a round trip to Toronto from Cambridge - cheaper than driving vehicle vehicle. The bus pass was relaxing but limited seating was available at 11am. The ride required a transfer to a Mississauga bus- I think the struggle I didn't expect is that some people may be left without a ride between buses as I boarded the bus and I watched my travel companion narrowly missing the bus. Fortunately Go Bus does call for another bus. On arrival to Union I watched the Go Bus go into the parking which is different from pre pandemic, then take the escalator to the Scotia Arena. Free wifi, efficient and what I do like seeing is the crowd is constantly flowing. Can't wait to return. I am curious is the TD Lounge open? Was point around Yelp and didn't see any comments from anyone- anyone can confirm?

The construction has completed! Or so they say. Ten years overdue and almost $1 billion over budget! Like all travellers, we use Union Station as a transportation hub to get somewhere else. Today, I'm travelling through to Scarborough GO train station. All aboard!

OK, not a big subway guy here, having only used the above- and underground train systems in NYC, Boston, Cleveland, and DC. But Toronto's stacks up with the best of them: easy to navigate, clean, safe, and with stops near major points of interest. Even off hours, the trains run at least every 10 minutes or so. (Our travels were limited to the No. 1 line, and we only used a few stations, including Union Station, bt Yorkville and St. Andrew.) My wife said she'd feel safe using it alone. Here's the ultimate testament: We spent four days and four nights in Toronto and not once used our car.

Union Station, one of the busiest stations in North America, is located on Front Street in downtown Toronto. It is a huge station and is a hub for a variety of transportation options -- buses, the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission), a rapid train to the airport (the UP Express), and VIA rail trains. Due to my brief stay in Toronto, I didn't have a chance to explore the station and all the amenities, so I can't give a proper review of the station. However, one amenity that I did take advantage of on a couple of occasions was the washroom. I was fearful that it would be similar to the washrooms located in Vancouver's pathetic excuse of a train station, which is disgusting, but the washrooms were extremely clean, and in fact, there was an employee actively cleaning the washroom on one occasion. No complaints about the washrooms or the cleanliness. Union Station is in a fantastic location -- near several attractions (the CN Tower and the aquarium, for example), sports stadiums, and several hotels (it was right across from our hotel, the Fairmont Royal York). It was also easy to connect to Toronto's subway system as the subway stops at Union Station. A great location for both locals and tourists. I seriously would have never guessed that this was the second busiest train station in North America. Sure, you can get shoulder blocked by indifferent commuters same as any other public transit hub, but this station sees more passengers than Grand Central. Only Penn Station sees more people barreling to and from the platforms, but Toronto has more foot traffic than any other Union Station from Chicago to LA. Despite the Beaux-Arts facade on Front Street, it just doesn't feel that majestic compared to the likes of Grand Central, but it clearly meets its purpose. I didn't appreciate it much on my first visit since it was freezing cold, but this last time, I came by way of the SkyWalk since my hotel was connected through the PATH. The central station for Toronto, this is where to catch the train to the airport, the local subway and the longer distance trains. Taxi stands at street level so there's little waiting. As one would expect, it is large but the signage is decent. Once you figure out the icon for your desired mode of transport, it's not hard to find your way to the right spot. There seems to be a lot of construction underway (I overheard two people talking that it's been this way for years) and there did not seem to be a lot of handicapped access for the subway. This was tough with a large suitcase and I saw some folks with crutches struggling through the crowds. The Great Hall is pretty and there are a large number of food vendors if you're here waiting for a train. And in any area where travelers congregate, watch your belongings carefully and monitor your surroundings. [Review 10945 overall, 717 of 2019.]

When travelling to Toronto Pierson Int'l Airport to Union Station in Toronto we took the convenient UP Express light rail train. It got us to downtown Toronto at Union Station in about 45 minutes, Cost was about $12, 50 (CAD) per person one way. (Purchase your tickets at the UP kiosk near the UP light rail trains. They come around about every 10 minutes or so. The Union Station itself is huge, clean, good signage and also has a bus terminal nearby Union Station also connects to the Scotia Bank Maple Leafs Event Center, to the NHL Hockey Museum, food court all indoors so you do not have to fight the brutal winter weather outside. No problem here at all and got to my destinations without any problem.

Lots of renovations still happening here and probably will be for some time. HOWEVER, some of these changes are super great! I love the new collections of stores and restaurants in the space between VIA, GO and the TTC. I also super super love the stairs and elevator now installed diagonally across Front St from Union Station. This gives access to tunnel that brings you right into Union, skipping the busy intersection and sidewalks above ground. Even under constriction, this area is well labelled and well lit. No issues. The new food court is also a great addition. The flow is FAAAAAAAR better than the old one that used to be on the other side of the station.

Can't orient yourself when the maps don't tell what shops you're near, but that's only when you actually find a map at all!! Eaton Centre is massive and get it right, why can't Union Station!

The never ending construction zone in the heart of city.. always see the hustle and bustle of people being all over the place and this on top of that! I have always been getting off the subway at this station for the past 3.5 years and never seen the construction work moving ahead an inch Idk what exactly they are getting fixed or being expanded.. The newly constructed GO terminal sucks to the core.. especially after the platform numbers are displayed - people take forever to pass through single door entry from the GO terminus.. it's just ridiculously planned whosoever did it.

Kind of a disaster right now with the crazy amount of construction going on. It's going to be super confusing if you're a tourist or only coming through once because there are so many pathways that are dead ends or that don't connect to other platforms. There are people to ask for information in the main concourses (GO and TTC) but that's only helpful if you can find those areas in the first place. That being said, the newer York Concourse does look a lot better than the previous GO concourse. There are a few places to grab a bite to eat and grab a drink while you wait for your train. There are ample screens for you to confirm your train schedule and PRESTO card consoles. If you haven't been here in a while or are new, come early so you can wind your way through the different tunnels to keep on schedule!

Union Station has changed so much in recent years, I can hardly recognize it with all the new construction. I mainly use the GO Station to catch a Lakeshore East train or to grab the TTC. Right now, with all the construction, it can be a bit confusing finding your way around, but I'm loving the improvements I'm seeing so far. There's also a few retail and food shops open right now (McDonald's -McCafe, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Booster Juice, Peace Collective, Pilot Coffee Roasters, but you can see there's lots more planned for 2018. There's also complimentary WiFi and charging stations sponsored by TD Bank which is helpful when you're waiting for your train or Bus. The staff are also friendly and helpful!

Can't wait until, the never ending, construction is over to see what the station is going to look like. Union is the mother of all train stations in Toronto. While we also have a TTC subway station by the same name, Union station (the actual building) is primarily a train and transportation hub which connects many levels of ground transportation all in one place that's between York and Bay on the south side of Front Street West. Union is also of great importance when it comes to venue connectivity as it's connected to the PATH for pedestrian use as well as having a walkway towards the Rogers Centre, Toronto Convention Centre, CN Tower and Ripley's Aquarium, Union-Pearson Express station on the west side as well as having pedestrian access to the north sides entrance of the Air Canada Centre (to be renamed to Scotiabank Arena in the summer of 2018). The underground PATH connectivity from Union includes 25 York Street (Telus House) and the ACC to the south, the Fairmont Royal York and the TTC Union Station subway to the north and the UP express to the west. For municipal transit, the TTC besides having the Union Station subway also have 2 dedicated street cars that connect to Union. The 510 Spadina originates inside Spadina station and travels south along Spadina to Queens Quay and turns east towards the Queens Quay streetcar station on Lower Bay before getting to Union. The 509 streetcar (Harbourfront) originates at the CNE (Exhibition Loop) west of the Prince's Gates at Strachan and travels east along Fleet Street to Bathurst before turning south on Bathurst and then turning east again along Queens Quay West and also stopping at the QQ/Ferry station before stopping at Union. As far as commuter trains and buses go the Union serves GO Transit (Government of Ontario) for both a bus transportation hub as well as the main train hub for regional GO train service. GO train lines consist of 7 main lines including Lakeshore West which terminates at Hamilton for regular service and Niagara Falls for seasonal service, Milton, Kitchener, Barrie, Richmond Hill (terminates in Gormley), Stouffville (terminates in Lincolnville) and Lakeshore East (terminates in Oshawa). The Union-Pearson Express (also known as UPX) is a dedicated shuttle train that runs between Toronto Pearson International airport to Union Station along most track of what already existed as the Kitchener line with stops at Weston and Bloor (near TTC Dundas West Station) as well. The UPX recently underwent a complete fare restructuring from the original 27 dollar one way cash fare (19 on Presto) to what is now only about 1/3 on the Presto from Pearson to Union (3 stop trip) with lower costing fares for either 1 or 2 stop fares between. The service runs every 15 minutes. For connections to Billy Bishop Toronto Island Airport, Porter Airlines offers a complimentary shuttle from the main entrance of the airport (bottom of Bathurst) which travels along Front and turns left at York St at the south west corner of the Fairmont Royal York hotel. Alternatively the 509 crosses Bathurst at Fleet Street which is a short walk to the bottom of Bathurst but would be inconvenient if you had a lot of luggage. The Porter shuttle which is like any car rental shuttle has limited luggage space in the middle of the bus by the back doors. National train service is provided by VIA with Toronto routes as far south as Windsor to Quebec along the ON-QC corridor. For the Rockies and Pacific there's another line that traverses west towards Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Jasper, Kamloops and Vancouver. Connections to the US are done with connections with Amtrak.

Union Station's GO bus terminal is too far from the TTC with not sufficient signs. As a senior arriving at 11:00 pm, I had to walk 20 minutes underground with my suitcase wearing my winter coat. I had to ask several times for directions. At leaving I found out the best way to arrive (by taxi!) is at 81 Bay St., then a short walk indoors to the bus terminal. The website is misleading, it only refers to P1, a GO employee told me that was 'too complicated'. The old bus station at Bay/Dundas was much easier to get dropped off as well as TTC access.

Union Station is a very busy train station in the heart of downtown Toronto. The trains run on an efficient schedule. It's currently under construction but everything is clearly marked and anyone I encountered was helpful with directions, instructions, etc. Union Station has a covered skyway that goes all the to the CN Tower and Rogers Centre. Very convenient and probably more of a necessity in the winter months. They have a good selection of dining options too. I noticed a few cozy bistros and cocktail bars which is a welcoming addition to the typical cafeteria type fare usually offered at train stations. My only suggestion would be more charging stations in the waiting area since there isn't outlets on the train (at least in economy). Hopefully that is one of the renovations they are working on.

I use this station quite a lot. My company is located in central Toronto and I generally choose to get there by train when I visit. The location of the station in downtown TO is well placed as it is walkable for so many things in the downtown area. I can stroll from Union to the hotel I usually use on the west side of the downtown area near Spadina in about 20 minutes. Of course, there are taxis readily available for those who prefer. The structure itself is a classic design and the Great Hall is quite a nice place in which to stand and admire. The station is also clean in general terms and the staff are fairly helpful. There are a few downsides to this grand place, however. It can get rather crowded at busy times. It is almost certainly used in greater volume than the designers ever imagined and the recent population shift toward downtown probably exacerbates that issue. In that regard, there are also probably not enough amenities in terms of food and beverage offerings. That may simply be due to the fact that they have no place to put them in the more trafficked central areas where they would more likely be patronized. Even train stations like Chicago are better in this respect than TO. The larger central lounge area is not nearly large enough to accommodate the current volume it handles at peak times. The station also sprawls in every direction because it handles both local GO trains as well as VIA trains. It is not signed well enough as it is easy to find oneself in the local GO train area when one is looking for the VIA trains and vice-versa. The end result is that it is rather difficult to navigate. That situation has improved a little bit with time but not enough. In general, while there are some very good points about this station, there are also some significant drawbacks. I have learned to use it in the context of my normal routine, which is to ride the VIA in from Windsor and back once every two or three months. I would find it a little overwhelming if I used it outside of that context unless I was using it on an everyday basis and forced myself to acclimate to the station more thoroughly. It's definitely a place where it is wise to allow an extra ten minutes or more if you are embarking on a route for the first time.

First time taking the Canada via rail train to Montreal. Easy to navigate. Friendly and welcoming staffs. You can purchase your tickets here, or better still online! Without having to print, just show your ticket via cell phone and you are good to go! The train seats are so comfortable, the washroom is clean, and they serve you snacks and drinks for a price of course... Lol

I've taken VIA trains to and from here a few times. They're doing construction and at least they have signs to direct people where to go if connection to the subway. It's big inside and easy to get to in Toronto. The signs are labelled with the train numbers, destination and gate. My last visit stated boarding was half an hour before departure and there was a line up but it didn't start moving until about 10 minutes to departure. There were lots of empty chairs to sit and wait. The washroom on the lower concourse has lots of stalls and fairly clean. I wouldn't mind if I had to take the train to this station again.

Came here for Union Summer and tried Momofuku Noodle Bar. It's the 2nd annual event that is taking place cause of renovation at Union Station. This year, they got live music as part of the feature. So that's a cool addition to the event. One thing I would want is music that's not excessively loud so friends and I can have a conversation. Aside from that, sun is out and it's great. I tried Momofuku Noodle Bar and had their spicy chicken sandwich along with a pork belly sandwich. The spicy chicken sandwich came with spicy mayo and freshly fried chicken on the sweet flat bread similar to the bread used for BBQ pork. The pork belly sandwich came with hoi sin sauce, cucumber and of course pork belly. Pork belly is yummy! However the hoi sin sauce was too sweet in my opinion. Of the 2, I prefer the spicy chicken more. As for the Union Summer event, I will likely come back as I work down the street to try other offerings.

It serves its purpose. Take the UP train to/from the airport here. There are two levels of food kind of similar to Grand Central. Trains run in and out all day long. Friendly employees help navigate you since the signs can be a bit misleading. There is a separate Uber pick-up location down two flights of stairs which sucks when you're rolling luggage along with you after a flight. The spot also doesn't clearly say where it is but here's a hint: it's not in the parking garage where it ultimately leaves you, it's outside in a random alleyway.

You gotta love this place, it has to be the busiest station in Canada. Someone prove me wrong. This station has been undergoing construction since I was in high school (joking), it has been soooo long! It is basically the 'Times Square' of Toronto. All the GO trains leave from this point, so does VIA Rail, and last but not least, TTC trains and buses. No one really knows what's going on, every 2 months the construction moves from one area to the next. It has been renovated, so some stores look pretty legit and then other parts are just barely safe for commuters to pass through. One day, I believe Union Station will be amazing - hopefully this happens before I turn 80. Sarcasm aside, this is most likely the core for Toronto public travel so you won't ever forget this station!

I had bookmarked Union Station since I start writing Yelp reviews. It is hard to rate Union Station since it is in a constant stage of renovation. It has so much potential but it really needs a lot of work. But at least it is going towards the right direction. Being a transportation hub: Go Train, TTC, VIA, UPS, it is used by locals and tourists on everyday bases. A lot of the logistic, set up and facilities are just so dated and need a modern update. I do love the historical look of the facade and the main hall area. Hopefully after all the renovation and upgrade, Union Station would earn a 4 or even 5 star for me.

Feel bad giving this station a less than average rating, given my love of transit and this being a major hub for Toronto, but the organization was really quite disastrous. On the way into the station from Pearson, it was a pretty straight forward experience. We followed signs and were on street level within a matter of minutes. On the way back to Pearson, a whole other story. We took the subway to Union Station and then attempted to follow signs for the UP Express. And there were plenty of signs, but it literally seemed like they were guiding you to the train platform in the most inefficient way possible. From subway exit to train platform, I think we could have easily walked a full mile. There's no way that this was anywhere near the quickest, most direct path. So, please, fix your signs and/or directions, Union Station. Other than that, keep on transiting.

I'm a bit of a passenger rail fan and someday I hope that Union Station will be the starting point for a train trip on the Canadian to Vancouver or the Chaleur (via Montreal) to the Gaspe Peninsula. As it turns out, the only train that I have taken out of Union Station is the GO Train to Scarborough! But train-wise, life has still been pretty good. I have taken the Canadian to Vancouver from Edmonton and the Hudson Bay train from Winnipeg to Churchill. The Skeena to Prince Rupert, the Ocean to Halifax, and the White Pass & Yukon from Skagway to the Yukon are also on my future train travel list. Union Station in Toronto still has its majestic main hall, even though other parts of the station have become a little worn and tired. It and the Royal York across the street are monuments to the old Canadian Pacific and their architecturally impressive stations and hotels. Union Station is also a major commuting/tourist hub and a neat place to feel that energy. And like many in the crowd, Union Station is a great place to start your day in Toronto. There is so much to see that is very convenient either by foot or by public transit.

In A Nutshell: -The Union Station is the heart & soul of the public transportation system in the great city of Toronto. -The ingenius underground P.A.T.H. also intersects w/ this terminal. -Constructive construction was in place during my visit, some better signage could be used to help navigate lost tourists like myself. -It's a very clean station, which is impressive for a city this size. Overall, there are countless American cities that should replicate Toronto's Union Station!

Beautiful on the outside. I think it's beautiful on the inside as well; there is a lot of construction going on here to be able to truly tell. It's an easy to navigate station. Basically you can get any type of transportation here. I took the VIA rail and UP Train from the station but you can get the GO Bus, subway and taxis here too. The VIA rail station is not very desirable, but I guess it works. They have a farmers market with live music outside in the summer. It's a decent station for sure and even if it wasn't you'd still have to come here to get in and out of the city easily.

Union Station functions well considering it's the busiest railway station in Canada. The station concourse has a Second Cup, McDonalds, Starbucks, Cinnabon...to name a few places. There's also a customer service area, ticket sales (beware: LONG lineups during peak periods!), Presto machines, and self-serve ticket machines (coins only!). I can't say much about the VIA side, but the GO side can see some improvements. The signage around the station is terrible, and the track waiting area is a bit too open concept, so you're exposed to weather elements. That being said, passenger flow is quite decent and you're able to board your trains at least 10 minutes before departure.

I moved back to Toronto for a job last year and have been using Union Station intensively so I think a review is in order. For the most part, the crazy construction looks promising. The fact that it has a FAINT ressemblance to a major transit hub in Asia or even NYC, is definite progress. A shiny new food court with the usual mall options, a relatively large concourse with multi platform access, and big shiny LED ad walls mean Toronto is finally trying to be an actual city. Like a real deal city that has a crown jewel in its transit network. But..... Why is the connection between trains and the GO Bus terminal so convoluted? You either have to leave the station and get there via Front St or you could cheat like I do and cross over using a train platform. Either way, kinda a wtf moment. And WHEN is the construction gonna end? Honestly, I feel like Union Station has been under some form of renovation since I was a kid. And I'm old now. Anyways...the finished bits and pieces look great and all but I'd hate to have to wait till I'm 60 to see a fully realized vision. Fingers crossed.

I'm an American who recently visited Toronto. I was very impressed with how clean Union Station was. It's MUCH cleaner than Penn Station in my hometown NYC. I also like the fact that it's an intermodal terminal which is served by the subway, UP Express, Go Transit, and Via Rail. It's conveniently located near the CN Tower and Rogers Center (let's go Yankees!!!). Union Station also had a Good Life Fitness Center, which is convenient for people who want to pump iron or burn a few calories on the way home from work. The food court is good, but not great. The only thing that Union Station lacks is decent retail options.

Love the architecture of this place. The main hall, with how tall it is and the city names engraved in the stone above is just breathtaking. A part of it is presently under construction so I'm looking forward to what they will do to modernize the place (a long time coming!) TIp: You might want to walk fast through here or a tourist will surely stop you for directions! =P

Holy Hell Batman, this place has changed ! A meeting place for Via Rail, GO Bus Trains and Buses, the Subway, bus lines, taxis, etc....this place pumps through massive volumes of people. Before it was dreary and downright scary. Now it is well lite, well planned and dare I say, functionable? It's been a solid year since I ventured near this place, but on my last time into the core, I thought I just gotta see it. While the facade has maintained his historical qualities, the expansion has resulted in bright, well marked areas. It's much easier to navigate through and actually seems like someone had a master plan for the building. I still prefer the main level, as it denotes a time when travel was considered "fashionable" and buildings reflected the image of opulence. Kudos for making such a massive improvement to a building far too important to ignore.
