One of the standout dishes was the salted egg crab. The crab meat was very tender and fresh, and the salted egg flavour paired really well without being too overpowering. The braised seafood noodles were also very satisfying, with good noodle texture and generous ingredients that definitely fill you up.
We initially wanted the roast chicken but it was sold out, so we opted for the smoked chicken instead, which turned out pretty good. The two-tone kailan is something worth ordering. You get crispy deep-fried leaves together with steamed kailan stems, so you enjoy both crunch and freshness in one dish. The deep-fried squid was well done, and the ginger scallion stir-fried snails were quite delicious too.
One slight letdown was the 烤鱼 grilled red snapper. The dish itself is usually very nice, especially when paired with Malaysian chilli sambal and fresh onions. Unfortunately, the fish was overcooked this time, and the meat turned out very tough, almost chicken-like in texture. It felt like a wasted good fish.
That aside, this place is still a usual go-to spot for many locals around PJ and Selangor for fresh seafood. Overall, a solid dinner with more hits than misses, and still worth coming back for their seafood dishes.
We made a reservation for a private room that comfortably fits around 10 people. The private dining experience was great, staff were very efficient with refilling tea, topping up condiments, and changing to fresh plates throughout the meal. The service really stood out and made the whole dinner much more enjoyable. As a bonus, the private room also comes with karaoke, which added to the fun and made it perfect for group gatherings or celebrations.
