I rarely dwell on pricing in reviews, but I feel compelled to share this experience. A 330ml Kingfisher Premium Pint priced at ₹880 (inclusive of taxes) at United Coffee House genuinely caught me off guard—especially when you realize that’s the same cost as a portion of dal tadka, enough to serve one and a half people. Even high-end hotels don't typically charge this much for domestic beer. It left me wondering: is there really no upper limit to beverage pricing in such establishments?
Yes, United Coffee House carries a legacy since 1942 and has a reputation for its heritage charm. The interiors reflect that—classic wooden décor with a vintage feel. However, for me, the ambience felt more dim and claustrophobic than nostalgic. The service didn’t help either; the staff appeared disengaged, with little of the warmth or attentiveness you’d expect at such a premium venue.
I had heard about their elevated pricing, but also about the quality of their food and experience. Having visited years ago, I was hoping for that same charm. Sadly, it seems much has changed. So while the place might still hold appeal for some, it’s worth being mindful of what you’re paying for—and what you’re actually getting in return.
