"United Nations International Gift Shop in Balboa Park, San Diego The gift shop is in the area of the Hospitality Houses and is packed with souvenirs from Balboa Park and San Diego . You will also find a lot of handmade items from around the world, and things like camera batteries, and water bottles (it can get very warm here in the summer months). You can also purchase maps of the area and an audio walking tour of Balboa Park."

The gift shop contains a collection of items from a variety of countries, mostly curiosity trinkets. The shop is not very large, but it was some interesting items like miniature flags. Flag pins are also available and are pretty inexpensive at about three bucks each.

What a fun hidden gem in Balboa Park! We had so much fun walking through the cultural houses and stopping inside to learn about the different countries. We listened to a musician from Ireland, tried sweet treats from Mexico and Scotland, learned to write “snake” in Mandarin, and more! I highly recommend taking an hour or two to explore the houses, and wrap up your experience with a visit to this gift shop where fun trinkets made in a variety of countries are sold. Many of the items are sold to support charitable organizations!

The gift shop wasn’t anything spectacular but the International Cottages are a must-see while you’re in SD! Open on Saturdays and Sundays, definitely put this on your ‘to do’ list!

Got gift for my wife. Range of products from trinkets to some rather expensive artworks and crafts. Ladies working in shop were very helpful.

Great idea to have small houses represent their countries and share in so passionate way.

Standard, quaint tourist shop with various souvenirs from around the world. Pricing is competitive. Comprehensive offering of popular bumper stickers. Some clothing goods and books available. Some candy and snacks as well. Great for tourists who visit Balboa Park and want a cute reminder. Not much else to the place as the size is small and purpose is focused. Staff was friendly.

Yelp
A must place to visit if you are at Balboa Park. Full of trikets and souvenir for friends and loved ones. There's something for everyone. They even have llama dolls ($42.95). This place is hidden. To easily locate the shop, head to the international cottages. Glad I ran into it today. Been to Balboa Park many times never knew this gift shop existed. Happy browsing!

Yelp
This place is located right in Balboa Park. I just found it walking around and decided to stop in. Very nice - they have gifts, trinkets, books, and candy, among other things, from around the globe. If you traveled internationally or grew up somewhere else you will recognize much of this and know how difficult it is to get some of these items in the US. All the proceeds are going to a non-profit in the area. I picked up some wonderful German licorice for my daughter. What will you find?

Yelp
If you are a visitor at the Balboa Park, this is one of the few gift shops non included inside any museum. I like to go from time to time and my only but is that i rarely see anything that I have not seen before or anything that is genuinely San Diegan. You will find your predictable super colorful clothing and purses from Bolivia, Peru, Guatemala, India...and all kind of trinkets and decorative gifts. Very bazaar like. My m part is the silver jewelry. In that case i think some artists showcased are locals and the beauty and quality is par with any high end jewelry store. I like the ethnic flavor or those pieces and is the only thing i usually buy there for myself or others. This is also a place to gather info about anything international happening in town. Sales people are super sweet.

Yelp
While exploring Balboa Park in San Diego, we came across this gift shop inside the United Nations Building. They have items from different parts of the world (as the name of the gift shop would suggest). It's fun to look around, and you just might find something you need or want to give as a gift. We ended up buying a few items ourselves. The proceeds help support the people around the world. Check them out when you're in the area!

Yelp
As an Anthropologist, people always expect cultural gifts from me. Frankly, it puts a bit of pressure on me. Ha! This place is one of my favorite gift shops. Though the cultural houses are not always open, the gift shop usually is open. They have all sorts of goodies, from stuffed Buddhas to scarves, to world flags, etc. Pretty neat little store. They have lots of the collectables people like, such as shot glasses, mugs, maps, and the like. Drop in and check it out. It's right by the big parking, across the street from the big Organ.
