Universal Studios Singapore – Theme Park Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"What sets this Universal theme park apart? This 20-hectare theme park—the first of its kind from Universal Studios in Southeast Asia—is all manmade fun. It boasts the world's tallest dueling rollercoaster, the Battlestar Galactica, alongside the Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase and Puss In Boots' Giant Journey rides. Kiddie characters aside, the park also revisits movie blockbusters like Jurassic Park, The Mummy and Transformers with attractions that span everything from a rock-climbing wall where you can search for fossils from The Lost World, to an interactive 3D battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. Whether you're in it for the thrills or just a photo, the park has something for everyone. The only barrier? The relatively pricey tickets that start from about $55 for a one-day pass. What are some of the best rides? You'll have to wait in line for it, but a whirl on the Battlestar Galactica is a must for thrillseekers. At 14 stories high, this intertwined double coaster is the world's tallest. Choose to ride on the 'regular' Human side, or let your pins hang loose from the open-bottomed, louder-scream-inducing Cylon train. Either way, you'll be traveling at 90 kilometers per hour—as fast as you're allowed to go on Singapore roads. How easy is it to get around? The park is made up of seven themed zones around a lagoon, throughout which are scattered about 30 restaurants and food carts, and 20 retail stores. Which means there are plenty of spots to take a breather or splash some cash at. Everything is clearly marked and wheel-friendly—and if you need some wheels to get around, strollers, wheelchairs, and mobility scooters can be rented from a booth near the entrance. So why would you recommend this theme park, and who (or who not) for? There's a reason why this place has been ranked the top amusement park in Asia—it's fun, friendly and has a full range of entertainment. The queues aren't as long as at, say, Tokyo Disneyland, and seasonal attractions like the popular Halloween Horror Nights screamfest keep the fun fresh. That said, if rides and walking around in the heat and humidity aren't really your thing, this probably isn't for you." - Audrey Phoon

Dreamy location if you are in Singapore, a must-visit place. A fun, enjoyable, and exciting day you are going to experience here if you are visiting. One full day is required here. You have to buy passes in advance. Also, if you can install their application and check the wait time for each activity. For kids, adults, they have a Range of activities. They have introduced Minion Land and kids just love this. The best ride is Transformers and The Mummy. They also have food stalls available. The Jurassic Park ride is just awesome. Pls bring a raincoat if you are planning for the Jurassic Park ride. Express pass is not required if you are visiting jn off off-season. On Sunday, they have parade.

Nice experience with family. Needs a full day to explore the park. Be prepared for long waiting times sometimes up to 2 hours for a single ride. Buy the express pass if you can afford it. Food is good and reasonably priced compared to other such theme parks. We liked the one in Oasis cafe in the Egyptian section.

Google
What an amazing theme park. Universal Singapore may be small, but it has so much packed within it. You could easily spend the whole day here and still not manage to do and see it all. This place is fun for the whole family. There are roller coasters, thrill rides, and shows that make the whole experience worthwhile.

Google
A very good Theme Park to bring your kids. However authority should take necessary measures to limit the number of guests inside the Studio as currently you have to wait 45-120 minutes just for a 2/3 minutes ride. As a result people can not enjoy all the ride and can not roam around the park freely.

Google
I had more fun than expected however we paid over AUD 1000 for three kids limited express tickets and two adult entry passes and there were a number of rides closed for maintenance, particularly the Lost World ride which was the only one I was interested in. This should have been advised in advance or the FULL price should not have been charged by the park. Lunch was also difficult to find seating. Overall though the staff were friendly and welcoming and the family had a good time.

Plan your trip. We went on a Sunday and had to wait at least 45 minutes for each ride. Food was expensive so make sure you guys bring some snacks to sustain during the time in the theme park. On the positive note, Mummy ride and Cylon ride was worth the wait but no belongings during these rides. So you will need to put your things (including phone) in the locker (you will need to pay).

Google
We visited on a weekday and not during the holidays or school breaks. It was fairly quiet except for a group of overseas travellers. You can buy the express ticket but only make that selection once you are there and confirm it will be busy. Take your time and spend the full day there so you’re not rushing around. Bring small backpack in case you have to store it during some rides and remember your water and umbrella. There are rides for all ages so lots to go round for everyone and heaps of souvenirs to buy at every sections.

We have visited Universal Studios Singapore last Sunday, had an exciting and memorable experience. The park is easily accessible by various means of transportation, including walking, cable car, bus, metro, car and taxi, making it very convenient to reach. Despite the large crowds throughout the day, the overall experience was enjoyable. Many visitors began entering the park right at opening time, and most of the popular rides had wait times ranging from 60 to 90 minutes. While the rides themselves are relatively short typically lasting between 60 to 120 seconds they are absolutely worth the wait and deliver a thrilling experience. For certain rides, bags are not permitted; however, complimentary lockers are available for up to 90 minutes, which is a very practical feature. The park is well-organized, with easy access to restrooms and a wide variety of restaurants. One full day is likely not enough to explore all the rides, attractions, and live events, so planning a longer visit is recommended. There are also hotels offering the convenience of staying close to the park for those who wish to explore more thoroughly. The park is suitable for all age groups, although it’s important to note that many rides have height restrictions.

Yelp
If you're used to the grandeur of theme parks in the USA, particularly the sprawling ones in Orlando, this park might feel underwhelming in size. It's relatively small, and as an adult seeking thrilling experiences, it may not hold much appeal. However, for children, it's a delightful destination. Every ride, from the gentle carousels to the mild roller coasters, is designed with young visitors in mind. There's nothing extreme or overly daring, but the attractions manage to strike the perfect balance of fun and excitement for kids. What truly captivated me was the atmosphere. The park is beautifully crafted with intricate details that make you feel like you've stepped into a storybook. The cobblestone pathways weave through themed areas that are bursting with vibrant colors and imaginative designs. Quaint little buildings line the streets, each adorned with unique features that invite you to stop and take a closer look. The landscaping is equally enchanting, with lush greenery, carefully placed flowers, and tranquil water features that add to the charm. While the rides didn't leave a lasting impression on me as an adult, the park's surroundings more than made up for it. Walking through the park felt like an escape into another world. The layout encourages exploration, and there's a sense of discovery as you wander from one themed section to another. Even the smaller details, like the music playing softly in the background or the whimsical signage, contributed to the overall magic of the place. Ultimately, I'd say this park is an ideal spot for families with children, who will undoubtedly have a blast on the rides. For adults, it's less about the thrills and more about soaking in the beautifully crafted environment. It's not the kind of place you'd visit for an adrenaline rush, but if you appreciate charming scenery and a pleasant walk, it's worth a visit.

Yelp
What a fun time! Firstly, the reason in which to get to this park was absolutely phenomenal. You can take a bus, the train, or grab and literally go up a the escalators and BOOM, you're there! Enter to the park was smooth and seamless and then you are off into Wonderland. I made a B line to the store in order to purchase my Cookie Monster headband and then run around the park as carefree as I want it to be. Considering we got there a little late, we were only able to access three rides but what a good time we had. My favorite ride was absolutely The transformer ride. So much fun! For Christmas, they offered not only enter to the park, but a food voucher for set and we got pizza and a drink, unfortunately the only option they were offering for a drink with Sprite, zero but I drank it nonetheless. I had to knock off one star because two of the rides that we wanted to go on were closed while we were there and the park is a bit small for a theme park. All in all a fun time was had and I felt as carefree as an eight-year-old should lol. Do yourself a favor, and go!

Yelp
Upon arriving to Singapore, I did not know there was a Universal Studios. But as soon as I saw it on Google maps I knew we had to make a stop at universal. The grab ride to Universal Studios wasn't too expensive and the tickets were also not too bad. We got the express pass, but I think I was feeling sick because of the heat. It also made me feel claustrophobic on some of the rides that tuck you in really well because I was sticky and uncomfortable from seating. The seats on some of the ride also smelled strongly of sweat. I didn't get to make the most out of the express pass, but it was still a good experience and we had fun. We also got to try the Naruto themed restaurant which was pretty cute and had some blue cookies and cream dessert after lunch. Super cute and super fun experience. I kind of wished we went to Singapore as our last stop so I could've brought a bunch of gifts from universal back as everything was so cute but since Singapore was our first of 5 stops in Asia I would not have had space to bring anything else back. TLDR - super fun day trip and an amazing Singapore Universal experience

Yelp
I didn't know Singapore has an Universal Studios until my sister told me lol. Since my family and I visited Singapore, we decided to check them out. We got there before they were open and they had really long lines! It was a really hot and humid day so that made it so much worse. Finally got to the front of the line. The staff asked to see passports. I'm assuming it was because there is a separate price for locals and tourists. Front of the park is mostly all the shops. All the rides are toward the back. I've only been to one other universal studios in USA. To compare, this location is so much smaller. There is no Harry Potter and no Super Mario. Most rides and vendors were closed. Only a couple of restaurants were open so not many options as well. We ended up eating at a fried chicken place and it was decent. They offered different combos and meals. No free refills on soft drinks. The park was opened for limited hours. Since it was so small and most rides were closed, we finished before the park closed. The lines for the rides were long but not too bad. Overall, didn't really enjoy it as much as expected.

Yelp
I have a long list of grievances for Universal Studios Singapore. Here it is: The park had very short hours, so we didn't have enough time to ride all the rides we wanted to with the long wait times. The park doesn't even have many rides. We got there right when it opened and left when it closed. There was almost no food available. We went to so many restaurants looking for food, but they were all closed. As in, they looked like they had been closed for a very long time. There was one fancy diner open by the park entrance, and we found one fast food place after many hours. There was of course a massive line because that was the only place open. Before we found that restaurant, the only food we had consumed was overpriced turkey legs from a beverage cart. Food aside, so many other things were shut down or abandoned. We followed signs expecting to find certain attractions or facilities that led to abandoned buildings and walled-up rooms. Some of the rides had camera flashes, so I expected to see our photos after the ride. However, the ride exits led us to completely turned off and abandoned photo stations. Some sections of the park were entirely closed. The locker system was cumbersome, and being forced to pay for lockers is ridiculous. We were required to pay to store our belongings for many of the rides. I am unsure why some lockers were free while others were paid. The lockers added quite a bit of time to the ride process, and it is a very inefficient system. Here's a silly one: masks were required on outdoor water rides. At the time of my visit, masks were only legally required indoors. Logically, masks should only be required on indoor rides. I think that any person with average intelligence should know that masks are not effective when they are soaked. I didn't love any of the rides, and I'm a huge fan of both tame and thrill rides. The minions were super cute.

Yelp
I wanted to like this universal but it's just so small. I literally ended up only spending and hour inside and an hour hiding from the rain. The sad part is for some reason when the park is open, not everything inside is. Half the rides and more then half the vendors were all closed. Couldn't ride Jurassic or get any special vendor foods. Only the main restaurants were available. Shopping was also a bit repetitive. All the shops basically carried the same things. I got on the Sesame Street ride though and it was really cute. At least there's a good amount of shopping that can be done outside the park as well. They also had horror nights set up but it was only open at night so didn't get a chance to see any of those attractions.

Yelp
It was smaller than expected, however the decor was quite nice per the theme lands. We took a taxi to get here although there was other ways such as the Mrt. I especially enjoyed the Battle Galatica rollercoasters. Both were very fun and rides I've never riden before! The food was interesting and we were happy to try them as we had vouchers that came with our entrance tickets. There were lands such as Shrek, Sci-Fi, Mummy, New York, Etc. One thing to note is that some stuff was closed due to Covid but it seems like they're renovating and opening more soon.

Yelp
The train is busy just getting to sentosa island but it was the cheapest way to get there. It was really packed but we only have limited time. Our favorite ride was the battle star cyclon (rollercoaster) . The park is small compared to the other universal but we sure enjoyed our time there.

Yelp
It's a park it can most likely fit inside Island of Adventure in Orlando. Overall Transformers had no sound I got nervous when didn't hear anything. But we still enjoyed the ride . Loved the musical parade with Madagascar characters . It has about 3 major rollercoastes. Food options were limited inside park. The park was easily accessible you can't get lost. It's a nice small park for a good time you can complete it within 2-4 hours . Overall we enjoyed our time

Yelp
A visit to Universal Studios for less than $60 (USD)? Count me in! (I used Klook to get discounted tickets) Universal Studios Singapore may be on the smaller size, but for any amusement park fans out there, I think it is still worth a visit. The park hours are limited, from 11 am - 6 pm daily. I recommend setting aside a whole day for the park if you want to ride all the rides, see the shows, and leisurely walk through the six different zones. My husband and I arrived around noon, and during the 6 hours we had in the park, we felt rushed and barely able to get through all of the main attractions (the park was at ~50% capacity on a Wednesday in March). USS is on Sentosa Island. The best way to get there is either by the Sentosa Express or Cable Car. You can easily catch both just off the HarbourFront MRT station. The Sentosa Express is fast and convenient and will get you to ResortsWorld Sentosa in minutes. The cable car will take about 20 minutes round trip but gives you a great aerial view of the island and the various parks. With a round-trip cable car ticket, I recommend heading first in the opposite direction towards Mount Faber and then back towards Sentosa Island to maximize the experience. The park has six zones: Hollywood, Far Far Away, The Lost World, Ancient Egypt, Sci-Fi City, and New York. Some attractions had relatively no wait, but queue Lines for Battlestar Galactica: Cyclone, Jurassic Park Rapid Adventures, and Puss and Boots were quite long by 12:30 pm when the park got more crowded (it was 90 minutes for Jurassic Park). As such, you might want to consider hitting up some of the more popular rides first or be sure to take advantage of the single-rider lines when available. My favorite attractions were Shrek 4D Adventure, Battlestar Galactica: Cyclone (Cyclone is better than Human), and Revenge of the Mummy. I expected the Revenge of the Mummy to be like the Indiana Jones ride at Disney, but to my surprise, it was more of a rollercoaster-type experience. The Shrek 4D show was cute, fun, and entertaining. For the Cyclone roller coaster, you are hanging from your seat. The ride was fast, thrilling and had lots of twists and turns. My husband and I were disappointed in the Puss and Boots ride and would suggest skipping it if there's a long line. The food in the park was alright but perhaps slightly better than average. We tried the chili crab hot dog and a chicken katsu bowl with fried rice. The hot dog was mildly spicy but unique, and although the chicken katsu was slightly tough, the dish was fulfilling. Universal Studios Singapore is great for families, teens, and amusement park fans. Pregnant women, however should probably sit out as ~90% of all the attractions advised against pregnant women riding. If you find yourself out on Sentosa Island, be sure to set aside a day to visit Universal Studios Singapore!

Yelp
The vip experience was wonderful and the food was delicious. Lines were long though. Recommend fast pass.Pretty small compared to the ones in US

Yelp
How cute and adorable is universal in Singapore!! It was my first time ever to a universal studios and I love how it's small enough to enjoy your time on rides, take pictures and shop for souvenirs. Cool thing is I took a cable cart to Sentosa island which has amazing views I would definitely recommend. Didn't get a chance to visit WaterWorld since it was raining but it looked really cool as well. Take the kids or if you are a big kid yourself stop by you will have a good time.

Yelp
March 2023: If you're in Singapore with young family members and ride fans I'd recommend this as a great way to kill a few hours:). The ride themes are definitely older- Waterworld (closed), Jurassic park (a visitor fave water splash ride and canopy flyer), Transformers virtual motion car ride, Battlestar twin rollercoasters and Shrek 4-D movie. Other rides were just adventure themed like the Ancient Egypt roller coaster, and the Treasure Hunt ride (closed) My favorite was the Ancient Egypt ride especially even the walk to the ride was well done and creepy. I'd say the only decent food options are the fried chicken near Shrek, and the tots at Jurassic Park. The Kung Fu panda mascots put a huge smile on my face tho, look closely at Po's facial expression it's too funny and fits him perfectly. The gudetama and hello kitty stores are a nod to the parks Asia location , but HK needs more shirts with the actual US local on it (for gifts, cough cough). Had a great time tho. It sits above a casino and mall and there's tonnes of food options and the Aquarium is within walking too. You can take the MTR to harbourfront station then the monorail shuttle to Sentosa and a free bus to Universal. Sounds like a lot but it's a perfect sightseeing journey.

Yelp
One of the smaller universal studios in the world. But it's a nice place to spend a day off you like theme parks. We went just after lockdown has lifted so there was lot of social distancing measures in place. The staff did an excellent job of making sure all rides were safe and sanitized.

Yelp
Like many other posts here on yelp...if you have been to a universal studios anywhere else in the world this one will feel small and cramped to you. Overall it's a fun day, but the lines were absolutely awful...and I was there at opening on a Wednesday. The express pass would have been amazing to have...expect they wanted $160SPD for each one (family of 4, that's 640 dollars!!!!). Get f****g real. I could go on a week vacation for the price of that. And without the pass every single ride was an hour all the way up to 2 hours waiting time. Absolutely terrible to wait in line for that long for every ride. We were there 10 hours and got about 10 rides in, and 3 of them came in the last 30 minutes where there was zero wait time. Overall I was disappointed in the park, it's too small and the price of the express pass is absolutely unreasonable.
google avatar

Colleen C.

Yelp
It is located in sentosa world resort. Due to the current outbreak the theme park wasn`t busy which allowed us to go on most of the rides I'm 3 hours. Most of the time we had no wait for the rides. The staff were friendly and most of the rides were still open. Tip: some of the rides won't let you bring your bags or phones. So walk around to see which rides you would like to go on before renting a locker. Locker rental for 1 hour is 4 dollars and for 2 hours is 8 dollars.

Yelp
Raise your hands if you love theme parks? Then you're my kind of people. We've been to the one in Orlando three times. The only bummer about this one here in Singapore is that there is no Harry Potter, and that means no butter beer. Even on a Tuesday when kids went back to the start of school, it was crowded. We opted to get fast passes to skip the long lines. It is pricey but in my opinion, worth it. My favorite ride has always been The Mummy and today I got to experience Transformer. It was awesome. Since my child is older now, we did not visit the rides geared towards younger kids. So I cannot comment on that. We had lunch at Starbots. It was super crowded and seats were hard to come by. I opted for Singapore's signature pork rib soup w/rice. It's supposed to be good for you in the summer months. I was so sure that I was going to like this dish but the black pepper in the soup was overpowering and hard for me to drink. I only ate the pork ribs. Skip the sodas and get the Milo drink at the end of the line instead. The Fast Pass cannot be used on 4 of the rides. What we like to do then is go on the single rider line. Is that cheating? Technically no, I look at it as just filling in the empty seats when someone's party is an odd number. But I do advise that when you do this as a group. Don't talk to each other, act like y'all don't know each other. Why wait on that bloody long line in the heat. We all had a grand ole time because we didn't have to wait in line too long.

Yelp
This is my second visit to Universal Studios in Singapore. Hours are 10 to 6pm which is enough as the place isn't as huge as the one is the US. We came to Universal Studios riding the Cable Car. This is one of my suggestions as a must try when visiting Singapore. Had a lot of fun!

Kellie R.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVED my visit here. It's a very small park but it's clean and fun. There weren't many character meet and greets (I think I only saw Bumblebee and a dinosaur). We didn't wait in the lines very long (I think Sesame Street has the longest wait time). The Battlestar Galactica rides were literally hop on...it was great! The Mummy ride is probably the worst here compared to Florida or California. However, they have the best Jurassic Park ride!!! They did close the ride during a thunderstorm and because that was the ride we wanted to end our day with, we ended up waiting until it opened again. Because of this, they let us stay on the ride for a second round. We will definitely come back again.

Yelp
We have spent the whole day in Universal Studios Singapore. Friend didn't dare to try the rider to get a thrill but she asked me to try more. She enjoyed looking at me riding it. OMG, unfair. But I have to say its an amazing theme park experience. Do it because you have to. P.S. Jurassic Park doesn't open until 11

Yelp
Visitors from out of the country gets a discount if you present your passport. Thanks to my GM for letting us expense this *hearts* I seriously love him for what he has done for the site, the time he has taken to coach and develop me, and for being a super fun and straight-forward GM. When we walked in, I was super surprised at the size of this amusement park. I have not been to Universal Studios (in SoCal) since I was a kid but the size of this place was very small. We walked around it like 4x w/o breaking a sweat - except you will sweat because on top of the heat, add humidity to it and you'll be sweating from doing nothing. I don't do rides so we did a few kids' rides, a kid show (Donkey from Shrek), watched a parade, had lunch at Mel's, and went on a few 3D rides. It was fun because whilst Jerry was enjoying every second of it, I held onto his arm w/ my dear life. I seriously hate sudden moves and all of that ride shit but I admit, it was fun. The Transformers ride was pretty awesome. The parade was pretty alluring; the characters and dancers were very into their role. The best was the Tyrannosaurus Rex. I am 33 and still LOVE dinosaurs. All MasterCard users get a 10% at the stores. I bought Gavin a penguin from The Madagascar or whatever the name of the movie is and I bought Tess the evil purple Minion. Gavin is still using his Jurassic Park backpack to school... everyday I see a piece of Singapore and its memories. Located inside the Santosa area. You can get here by the MRT, car, or taxi. We took a cab to and back. There is an aquarium in the same area so if you plan early, you can do both because there isn't much to this place but it was a priceless memory I am glad I am able to have.

Yelp
For 23 years I grew up right next to the Universal Studios in Florida so I've had the luxury of frequenting that theme park a billion times by being a continuous annual pass holder. In this review I'm definitely going to be comparing this Universal to the huge Florida one and various other Universal Studio locations in the world. Let me start off by saying that my expectations weren't too high in the first place because this theme park has very limited space. It seems to be about 1/4 the size of the one in Florida (if you're counting islands of adventure and universal as one park). To make up for this, the tickets are cheaper. I don't recommend getting a fast pass because on a good day you can definitely get through all the rides in approximately 6 hours. I came late on a semi-busy day but still managed to get through 95% of the attractions before the park closed. However, my issue with this theme park isn't it's size, it's how inefficiently everything operates. I don't know if it's an issue with understaffing but this park is the "slowest" I've ever been to in the world. The wait times are usually inaccurate and tend to be longer than what the sign says. There is no mobile app (like many theme parks in Asia) so you can't remotely check wait times or maps on your phone. The employees take a super long time to load and unload passengers. The reason why the lines move so slowly is because of this - there really isn't a sense of urgency when they're changing out the rides. When I was there, the Mummy ride only had one side that was operational instead of both loading docks being changed out simultaneously. The rides are usually backed up because carts are waiting on the employees. I think this theme park can take notes from Universal Studios Japan, where they have some of the most efficient employees I've ever seen. My second issue is how outdated this theme park is. A park needs constant updates because there are always improvements in ride technology and changes to pop culture. There is no Harry Potter world at this park (this is fine, because this is a smaller park). There is a reason why Universal Studios is moving towards 4D rides all over the world - it's because their animatronics kind of suck. For instance, the Madagascar ride shows it's age by using really old animatronics that do not move fluidly at all. My third issue is the strange strictness of "no phones" and "no stuff in your pockets" during rides. I like having my GoPro or phone to record the journey and I've never had a problem with this anywhere else. I understand if we cannot have phones out for roller coasters but the employees made me put my items in my pocket on rides where I really don't think it was necessary. I think I read a sign somewhere that this theme park was the best in the world. I highly disagree with that advertisement because this is far from it. However, I did like some aspects of Universal Singapore. The food is pretty good. Like in most foreign theme parks, there are cultural dishes available. Discovery Center in Jurassic Park has great chicken rice and laksa. Marty's Casa Del Wild Food Court has curry and satay. Gloria's Snack Shack has bingsu (shaved ice). I like that there are halal options for those with dietary restrictions. However, it was difficult for my vegetarian friend to find things to eat other than french fries. The Park was also really clean, much like the rest of the country. The bathrooms were always nice to use. If you love theme parks and are visiting Singapore for a long amount of time, then come here. Otherwise, there are better things to do in this country. I'm giving this place a 2.5 Star which rounds to 3.

Yelp
Do not compare it to the one in Orlando or even LA, and you will most likely enjoy it better. Universal Studios Singapore is way smaller than its American counterparts and you can pretty much finish walking the entire place in under 2 hours with some stopping to check out the various gift shops and maybe take in a few rides. Add more hours if you intend to watch every show and get on all the rides. It is still a fun place to be if you are not a huge roller coaster fan. It is terribly lacking in that area. The closest is the Battlestar Galatica but it has been shut indefinitely for the moment. Even when it was in operation, it was not as long or tall a ride as other places with similar rides. My current favorite rides will be: - Revenge of the Mummy (most fun ride for me, a bit similar to Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom) - 3D TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle - Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure (prepared to get wet, invest in the poncho) - Shrek 4-D Adventure I have yet to try Puss In Boots' Giant Journey which recently opened. The lines can be pretty long and I do think it is quite ridiculous to pay $50/$70 for the express pass. One way to get around that is to get on the "Single Rider" queue which will be faster than the regular line. But that means you will be separated from your friends/family. The food is decent inside the park and the prices are actually ok. Just don't expect food court type of pricing, and it is actually comparable to those casual dining places in Singapore now. And if you want a bit of familiarity, there is a Starbucks inside so you can still get your frappuccino fix. Water fountains are readily available and usually located by the washrooms, so you can always refill your water bottle too. If you intend to visit for more than 2 or 3 times in a year, it may make sense to get a season pass for either 6 months or 12 months.

Yelp
The Queue is Too Long and some guy named bill thought it was a good idea to make the Transformer Ride so Long about a 2 Hour Wait and it wasn't worth it. And i had no where to sit when my foot is painful I installed this app because of this.

Yelp
I had to visit Universal Studios Singapore during my visit. Tickets are roughly US $55/$57. It offers many of the attractions like those at Universal Studios in Orlando and in Hollywood. It's not as massive, but that's part of what I liked about it. It's compact, clean, and full of fun filled attractions. I will definitely visit again!

Yelp
If you love theme parks then universal is for you. For me it's too expensive, too many people and I hate lineups but I did enjoy the transformers ride. I also don't like that in some of the rides you have to leave your stuff in a locker that charges you by the time. Not cool.

Yelp
Really fun day! It was more fun than I had expected! Loved the transformer ride and the Cyclon roller coaster.

Yelp
Not as much rides and attractions as the Universal Studios in Hollywood, but it is a nice place to visit when in Singapore. Did not like the fact that they are only open from 10am-8pm since I am familiar with theme parks opening as early as 7 am. So there was a humongous line of guests waiting to go in since they open at 10 am when this could have been avoided if they opened earlier. Wait lines were ridiculous, with the galactic roller coasters having wait times of 150 minutes. I highly suggest to invest in the express pass which is 30 SGD for limited or 50 SGD for unlimited. Why spend almost 2 hours in line when you can wait 15 minutes max for a ride?! We opted for the 30 SGD limited version which allows us to ride each ride once with the express pass whereas the unlimited version allowed you to ride the rides as many times as you want with the express privileges. It was SO WORTH it. At first, we spent an hour in line for the Transformers ride. Afterwards, we got the pass and gone on 3 rides within that time frame. You can get the most out of your day with the express pass. I like how there's a Starbucks on premises. We ate at a diner and the food was pretty good. There were snack carts throughout the park, I had a churro that was kind of stale and my sisters were a huge fan of their popcorn. It's a nice park to visit for first timers but I can imagine it would get boring the second time around.

Yelp
A really nice experience. First time in Singapore and had a blast. Even in the universal studio. Very nice place and the rides.

Yelp
I'm not sure if you would consider this to be one of the 'go to' places in Singapore, much in the same way that I'd hardly consider Disney Land a go to place in Hong Kong - it just isn't the same as going to the originals in the United States (not that I have ever done that). Actually, some who have have suggested that they are simply little more than pale comparisons. Anyway, when I first walked in here I was over-awed, but after a while it simply was little more than another version of Disneyland, without Mickey Mouse that is. The lines, especially for the popular rides, were hideously long (one was even 160 minutes), and the entrance was overpriced. Oh, and they didn't have the Jaws ride either, which I was under the impression was the whole purpose of Universal Studios.

Yelp
If you've been to the one in Florida or Osaka, this one is just a-ok. Think if your in Singapore for a short visit, might not be worth the visit. We went and spent a few hours there. At the same location was also the aquarium. So we were there checking out the fish for a few hours which was a lot of fun. Then We walked around the mall for shopping and food - doing all those things in one day was all fun and saw a lot of things. But the commute for only the park may not be worth

Yelp
I've only visited two Universal Studios in my lifetime: Florida, U.S.A. and now Singapore. My 2010 travels whisk me to Singapore where it is less crowded as oppose to Florida and the park is immaculately clean and offers a lot of thrill rides for the avid coaster enthusiast and park attractions. My favorites is Far, Far Away; "Welcome to Hollywood: Population Glamorous"; a Titanic replica, Shrek; Kungfu Panda and Waterworld. As with Singapore's geographic position close to the equator, summer intense heat and tropical rain are very common climatic factors which greatly affects one's enjoyment of the park, thereby park visitors bring sunscreen, sunglasses, umbrella, and definitely wear sneakers. For the New York section there is a manhole with steam blowing replicating Marilyn Monroe's modeling photo shot where her dress was uplifted from standing on a NYC subway grate, not manhole. Universal Studios Singapore's park grounds are divided into several lands: Jurassic Park: The Lost World; Madagascar; Egypt; Far, Far Away. Surprisingly, a mini version of Auguste Rodin's "The Thinker" from Paris, France inhabits the Lake of Dreams water fountain with English and Chinese inscriptions. Personally, the food quality is MEH as I'd rather enjoy the many delightful Chinese buns in Resorts World Sentosa Casino's Think Bread for a cheap meal. The site is shared land with nearby Resorts World Sentosa Casino.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much for the price they are charging for each entrance. Very over rated. Rides are pretty dated and should have some new additions to it already. The only ride that is well maintain I would say it's the mummy ride indoor roller coaster. The other rides are just so so only. And usually the big cyclone rides are usually down for maintenance. No discount for the entrance even if any rides is down for that day. So go and pray and hope all the rides are in operation to get more worth for your value.

Yelp
If you're from the U.S. and have been to Universal or Disney in the states, DON't bother with this park. They only open 8 hours, and the wait time for each ride is like a hour ( it's not even summer season anymore), so unless you pay more for the express ticket, you can't even do all the rides. Another thing, they make you check in everything in the locker (but if you're wearing glasses it's ok,), including my wallet that's in my back pocket which I'm sitting on, but the locker free time is shorter than the wait time, so you have to pay for the locker to get your wallet out. Yeah, see the logic there? After going to all the parks in the states, this one just feels disorganized and underwhelming. One more thing, no app for this park, use the good old map and add 20 wait mins to whatever time they posted.

Yelp
Another must go if you are visiting Singapore. Must try rides are Transformers, Revenge of the Mummy and Human VS Cylon. Go for these rides first otherwise you will regret. Rides wait can go up to two hours during peak season. Do get the express pass ($70) if you want to try many rides. The unlimited express pass is not really necessary. What I did was not use my pass when the queue is less than 15 minutes during the morning. Then I would go on for another round using the pass. The Jurassic Park ride will get you soaking wet so do get the poncho ($4). Or else they have a drying machine ($5) per use. You can fit a few people in it. Shrek 4D show was quite good as well and kids will love Donkey Live and Sesame Street. Unfortunately I missed the Water World show which was supposed to be nice so do check the showtimes! Food here is just so so but overpriced. However there are other food outside of the theme park like Din Tai Fung.

Yelp
Universal Studios Singapore is one of my most favourite places on Singapore. I try and get there every time I go. I'm an adult and can't get enough of theme parks. Queues can be insane here so it's best to get an express pass, there's two options, unlimited or each ride that once. (Not all rides are valid with them but it includes all the ones that are). I always find it best to do the transformers ride first as that usually has one of the longest queues. Be prepared to wait up to 2 hours if not longer on some rides. The express passes major the waiting time much much less. Last time I went the most I had to wait with an express pass was 20 minutes. Less people are there at night so that's also a good time to go. Food can be pricey like all theme parks and crowds can be a pain but go during the week not during school holidays and you'll have a better time. Entry is quite expensive as are the express passes but if you love this sort of thing it's worth it.

Yelp
Do it because you have to. Go in early do the bigger rides first. Jurassic Park doesn't open until 11 and there were several other rides we were waved away from with no explanation. Not so good.

Yelp
A very different theme park experience than in the USA. Staff is wonderful and park is very clean with minimal wait times for rides. The staff here keeps the park quite organized and running smoothly. They offer foods to accommodate all the different cultures. I love it that a theme park creates such a welcoming environment for all cultures here. I loved my experience here!

Yelp
Today was our first visit and we liked it very much. Overall, it was a very well designed park with a variety of rides and entertainment for people of all ages. We particularly liked the extended hours during the month of December, because it was a pleasure zipping through the park in the evening with no queues whatsoever. Wish these extended hours were year-round. In any case, we tried out the season pass so will provide feedback on how many times we're able to go when the regular hours are restored. In particular, I want to thank Desmond who helped us to obtain our seasonal passes. My husband was suffering from a headache and was getting increasingly frustrated with the registration process on the iPad because the app kept shutting down. Desmond offered to input the details on the computer for me as I told them to him, which allowed my husband to leave and look for our middle child's expander-retainers left at Chili's not even an hour before. He noted our distress and was very sympathetic throughout and even gave our family lanyards for our passes to cheer us up. Clearly, it was not his fault that our family was in such a predicament, but we really appreciate his kindness to us and we were just discombobulated at the time to accept his generous gesture. Thank you, Desmond.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible, most of the rides got shut down before 2 pm due to "technical difficulties". Not to mention the food was actually horrible and not worth the cost. We were very disappointed with this park and most definitely would NOT recommend if you're visiting Singapore, there are many other things and places that are much more worthy of your time. Universal studios should be at the very bottom of your list of things to do.

Yelp
If you've been to the other Universal Studios around the world then you'll prolly not be impressed by this but I've not so I was really happy at the end of it all. The park is broken up into seven sections. The best ones are Far Far Away, Ancient Egypt and Sci-Fi City. Only because of the rides of course. The best attraction at Far Far Away was the Shrek 3D experience. Watch out for the spiders. Ancient Egypt had The Mummy ride which was really awesome since you're practically in the dark the whole getting thrown and pulled back and forth. Really disorientating but you'll want to get on it again once you're off the ride. Sci-Fi City has the BattleStar Galactica and the Transformers 3D ride. The Battlestar is made up of two parts; Human & Cylon. I had the fortune of being right in front of both and was expecting some serious G-Force but the seats are really secure so you never really feel like you're going to die at all (which I sometimes think is the funniest part despite what my screams would suggest). Go for Human first before you ride the Cylon. The Transformers 3D was damn awesome in my opinion. You sit in a car, put those 3D glasses on and enjoy the ride. I won't go into details lest I spoil the experience. Don't miss this out.

Yelp
Great work Singapore, this is an exact and smaller version of the Universal Studios in LA. We almost felt like we were back home in the USA.

Yelp
Universal Studios Singapore (USS) is probably the best thing to have hit our shores. I'm a major fan of amusement and theme parks so USS is practically a godsend. I'm actually sort of addicted to USS, having been there four times within 2012 alone. Three things I love about USS namely the extraordinary customer service, overall fun atmosphere and the rides/showcases themselves. The staff and assistants here really take care of your needs. After a shower or rainy period, there'll be staff members wiping all benches dry and mopping away most of the rainwater. Washrooms are HUGE, awesomely clean and have plenty of cubicles. Everything is so spic and span here; I love it! Every single staff member I've met so far has been really polite and helpful, even those working at the restaurants. Can we please give them a round of applause? I love most, if not all of the rides here, my favourite being the Transformers one of course. Ignoring the fact that I'm a big fan of Transformers, the ride is absolute fun with excellent use of 3D and 4D visuals as well as effects. I've never met anyone who hated the ride or didn't enjoy it. However, I find that a two hour waiting time is a bit ridiculous for normal queues. Some crowd control should be administered. Shrek 4-D Adventure is also really enjoyable, especially if you're a sucker for great 4D tricks like me. Other really phenomenal showcases/rides include the Lights, Camera, Action! and The Mummy Ride of course. Additionally, I adore all the vivid mascots here like Puss In Boots, the Madagascar clan and most recently, the Sesame Street gang. Another quality I love about this amusement park is the old school New York street, which features lovely stores and establishments. The food at USS is amazing too, with plenty of eateries like Mel's Drive-In (epic American fast food) and Oasis Spice Café. Also, Churros is a must-have snack when you drop by!

Yelp
It's Universal. You're in Singapore. Yes it's going to be expensive but the memories you'll make here are going to last. So spend freely, don't think about the cost and have fun.

Yelp
The worrsest Universal Studio I have ever met. Extremely expensive, the entrance price is 79 dollars, but if you do not buy a express ticket, which price is 140 dollars, every sights will cost you more than 2 hours!!! The funnest thing is we have waited in a quene for Fransformwes over 2 hours, but they informed us the equipments were broken and need to be repaired and then let us go outside without and apologies. 2 hours! No explanations, no apologies.

Yelp
Smaller scale version of the one in California. However lots of attractions to keep you busy all day. Waits for popular rides can be over an hour. Like all theme parks everywhere, nothing is cheap. Overall I would recommend if you have family and kids to go with.

Yelp
When Universal Studios opened in Singapore, I just thought that it's just another theme park with that Disney Hype. However, I was proven wrong. It is definitely a place for kids and kids at heart and a perfect family hang out. When we came here, we lost hope of ever buying tickets. But I refuse to accept what is posted that no tickets are available. So I went straight to the customer service. And it was a good thing because the customer service personnel informed us that a group cancelled so a lot of tickets are now available for us to purchase and use on the same day. For more than $70, we get all access on rides plus a $5 retail and food voucher to save up on buying some souvenirs and food alike while inside the park. And we also get to enjoy live presentations. I loved the rapids here because the ride's a bit longer and the obstacles are really intense. Yes, I do have a bit of a dare devil in me so intensity is key for a memorable and enjoyable ride. Although we were queuing for a long time, the wait was definitely worth it. Universal Studios is best enjoyed during the weekday. Cheaper entrance fees and a bit thinner crowd to encounter.
